    Gender Differences in Flourishing among Indonesian Students

    This study investigates differences in flourishing levels between male and female Indonesian college students. Flourishing is defined as a state in which individuals experience life satisfaction, perceive ongoing personal development, and contribute positively to others. The research employs a comparative design to examine whether significant differences exist between these two groups. Data were collected using an adapted Flourishing Scale, which measures meaning in life, social connectedness, and competence. The scale demonstrated strong validity and reliability, with a Cronbach's alpha of 0.85. The sample comprised 234 students from Java, Sumatra, Borneo, and Celebes, selected through convenience sampling via an online survey. Data analysis used an Independent-Samples T-Test, which revealed a p-value below 0.05. These findings indicate significant differences in flourishing levels between male and female college students in Indonesia. Further analysis of each flourishing aspect also revealed significant gender differences. These findings have significant implications for higher education.     Understanding Students' Academic Resilience in Facing Skills Competency Test Anxiety Using the Draw and Tell Method

    The Vocational School Competency Test (UKK) is an important final stage for students, but it often causes anxiety that affects their academic and psychological readiness. High pressure to pass UKK can lead to decreased confidence and stress among students. This study aims to understand the experiences of grade XII vocational school students in dealing with anxiety ahead of UKK and to explore the role of resilience in managing this anxiety. The subjects of the study were three grade XII vocational school students from different majors who were selected based on the criteria of experiencing anxiety related to UKK and having resilience characteristics. The approach used is qualitative with a double exploration case study design. Data was collected through in-depth interviews and draw and tell methods, then analyzed thematically. The results showed that students' anxiety was triggered by internal factors (e.g., self-doubt, technical unpreparedness) and external factors (parental pressure, negative stories from seniors, worries about examiners). Anxiety has a noticeable impact on students' daily activities, such as difficulty concentrating and enjoying free time. Resilience emerges as a protective factor through a variety of adaptive strategies, including practice and repetition of material, independent learning, positive affirmations, self-talk, and social support from peers and teachers. The draw and tell method effectively depicts a symbolic shift in students' emotions, from pre-exam anxiety to post-exam relief.     Mengungkap Hubungan Antara Engagement Akademik dengan Burnout Akademik Pada Mahasiswa di Perguruan Tinggi Islam

    Burnout among university students, characterized by emotional exhaustion, cynicism, and reduced efficacy, has increased following intensified academic demands, making an investigation into protective factors urgent. This study examined the relationship between academic engagement and academic burnout among students at UIN Raden Intan Lampung. Using a quantitative correlational design, data were collected in 2024–2025 via self-administered questionnaires from 123 students selected by simple random sampling. Academic engagement was measured with a researcher-developed 32-item Likert scale covering emotional, cognitive, and behavioral dimensions; academic burnout was assessed with a 36-item scale based on Maslach & Leiter's three dimensions. Instrument validity and reliability were confirmed (Cronbach's α = 0.905 for engagement; α = 0.877 for burnout). Descriptive analyses, assumption tests (Kolmogorov–Smirnov; Levene's), and Pearson correlation (SPSS v25) were employed. Results showed moderate mean scores for engagement (M = 61.37, SD = 14.70) and burnout (M = 60.06, SD = 12.60), and a strong, significant negative correlation between engagement and burnout (r = −0.918, p < 0.001), indicating higher engagement associates with lower burnout. The findings support interventions that strengthen academic engagement through mentoring, active learning, time-management training, and social/spiritual supports to mitigate student burnout.     Penelitian ini menguji dampak pajak daerah dan retribusi daerah terhadap pendapatan asli daerah (PAD) di provinsi Jambi. Melalui metode regresi linier berganda, hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa adanya hubungan positif antara pajak daerah dan pendapatan asli daerah, serta pengaruh signifikan retribusi daerah meskipun bersifat negatif. Hasil ini menegaskan pentingnya peran pajak dan retribusi dalam mendukung keuangan daerah dan pembangunan. Dengan demikian, kebijakan perpajakan dan retribusi perlu diperhatikan secara cermat untukmeningkatkan pendapatan asli daerah dan memajukan Provinsi Jambi secara berkelanjutan

    Bank Muamalat KC Sumber in increasing customer loyalty through the implementation of Muamalat DIN online services faces challenges that come from external factors, namely from the side of customers who experience the Muamalat DIN application blocked due to incorrect password, PIN or TIN. Customers also often change cellphone numbers so that the Muamalat DIN application cannot be used because the data does not match the system at the Bank. The purpose of this research is to analyze in depth the implementation of online services through Muamalat DIN, this research also identifies inhibiting factors in the implementation of online services both from a technical perspective and from customer perceptions. In addition, this research also focuses on online service development strategies undertaken by Bank Muamalat KC Sumber in order to increase customer loyalty. This research is a qualitative research with a case study approach. The data sources used are primary and secondary data. Data collection techniques in this study are observation, interviews and documentation. Researchers use data reduction techniques, present data and draw conclusions in data analysis. The results showed that the implementation of Muamalat DIN related to accessibility, such as opening accounts from home, using attractive transaction features and ease of use that can be done anywhere and anytime, the implementation of online services through Muamalat DIN has been running optimally to provide convenience to customers. The obstacles found are related to technical constraints such as blocked applications, obstacles originating from external factors, namely customers entering the wrong password, PIN or TIN. Nevertheless, customer loyalty is maintained because the Muamalat DIN application makes it easier for customers to transact. Strategies used by Bank Muamalat KC Sumber such as direct education to customers, innovative feature development and direct promotion. The development strategy that is considered the best and adopted by Bank Muamalat KC Sumber is direct promotion, which can increase customer understanding and loyalty to online banking services through Muamalat DIN. Bank Muamalat KC Sumber dalam meningkatkan loyalitas nasabah melalui implementasi layanan online Muamalat DIN menghadapi tantangan yang berasal dari faktor eksternal yakni dari sisi nasabah yang mengalami aplikasi Muamalat DIN terblokir karena salah dalam memasukkan kata sandi, PIN maupun TIN. Nasabah juga sering mengganti nomor handphone sehingga aplikasi Muamalat DIN tidak dapat digunakan karena data yang tidak sesuai pada sistem pada Bank. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis secara mendalam mengenai implementasi pelayanan online melalui Muamalat DIN, penelitian ini juga mengidentifikasikan faktor penghambat dalam pelaksanaan pelayanan online baik itu dari segi teknis maupun yang berasal dari persepsi nasabah. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga berfokus pada strategi pengembangan pelayanan online yang dilakukan oleh Bank Muamalat KC Sumber dalam rangka meningkatkan loyalitas nasabah. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Sumber data yang digunakan merupakan data primer dan sekunder. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini ialah observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Peneliti menggunakan teknik mereduksi data, menyajikan data dan penarikan kesimpulan dalam analisis data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwasannya implementasi Muamalat DIN terkait dengan aksesibilitas, seperti pembukaan rekening dari rumah, penggunaan fitur transaksi yang menarik dan kemudahan penggunaan yang dapat dilakukan dimanapun dan kapanpun, implementasi pelayanan online melalui Muamalat DIN telah berjalan dengan maksimal guna memberikan kemudahan kepada nasabah. Hambatan yang ditemukan terkait kendala teknis seperti aplikasi yang terblokir, kendala berasal dari faktor eksternal yakni nasabah salah memasukkan kata sandi, PIN ataupun TIN. Meskipun demikian, loyalitas nasabah tetap terjaga karena aplikasi Muamalat DIN mempermudah nasabah dalam bertransaksi. Strategi yang digunakan oleh Bank Muamalat KC Sumber seperti edukasi langsung kepada nasabah, pengembangan fitur yang inovatif dan promosi langsung. Strategi pengembangan yang dinilai paling baik dan di adopsi oleh Bank Muamalat KC Sumber ialah promosi secara langsung, dapat meningkatkan pemahaman dan loyalitas nasabah terhadap pelayanan perbankan online melalui Muamalat DIN

    THE IMAGE OF ISLAMIC HIGHER EDUCATION REVIEWED FROM PROMOTIONS AND TUITION FEES AS WELL AS ITS IMPLICATIONS FOR COLLEGE DECISIONS

    This research was conducted to determine how interested parents of high school students in Kerinci Regency and Sungai Penuh City are in choosing an Islamic college for their children's further studies. The factors tested in this research are the image of Islamic universities, promotions, and tuition fees. The sample for this research was 227 respondents. Data was collected using a questionnaire. Data analysis uses the Structural Equation Model (SEM) approach with the help of the SmartPLS 2.3.9 application. The results of this research show that promotions and tuition fees have a positive and significant effect on the image of Islamic universities and influence the interest of students' parents in recommending Islamic universities to their children to continue their studies. The image of Islamic higher education mediates the relationship between promotion and tuition fees in the Decision to choose an Islamic higher education institution. The type of mediation effect is partial mediation

    Professional, transparent, and accountable zakat management is an urgent necessity to address public trust challenges toward zakat institutions. This makes the implementation of Good Amil Governance important to study, given its role in strengthening institutional legitimacy and the effectiveness of zakat distribution. This research aims to analyze the implementation of Good Amil Governance in zakat institutions in Indonesia and to examine accountability standards that support integrated governance. The research method employed is a literature study with a descriptive qualitative approach, reviewing regulations, previous studies, and governance practices in zakat management organizations. The findings indicate that the implementation of Good Amil Governance has shown significant progress, particularly in transparency, accountability, and professional management, although its consistency varies across institutions. The quality of amil human resources is proven to be a key factor in realizing good governance. Furthermore, zakat accountability standards encompass vertical dimensions (sharia compliance) and horizontal dimensions (public trust), supported by digital technology though not yet evenly applied. The implications highlight the importance of regulatory harmonization, integrated reporting systems, and strengthening amil capacity to enhance public trust, expand global philanthropic networks, and position zakat institutions as agents of social justice in sustainable development

    Preferensi Mahasiswa dalam Menggunakan Platform Digital Payment untuk Layanan Tel-U Carwash: Student Preferences in the Use of Digital Payment Platforms for Tel-U Carwash Services

    Purpose: This study aims to identify the most suitable digital payment platform for Tel-U Carwash based on students’ preferences and to analyze the factors influencing their platform selection. Design/methodology/approach: This research employs a quantitative approach. Primary data were collected through questionnaires, with a sample size of 100 respondents. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and multinomial logistic regression with the assistance of Google Colab. Findings: Bank transfers via QRIS emerged as the most preferred payment platform. Gender was found to have a significant effect on platform choice, while ease of use, security, and transaction speed did not show a significant effect. Research implications: Further exploration of additional factors beyond the indicators examined in this study is necessary to enable service providers to offer payment options that better align with students’ preferences

    The divergence in Qur'anic interpretive approaches between traditional Islamic boarding school clerics (kiai) and celebrity preachers is increasingly evident on social media, where diverse styles and methods of da'wah converge. This study conducts a comparative analysis of interpretive approaches, focusing specifically on Surah al-Insyirah, as presented by two prominent figures: Gus Baha’, representing the traditional pesantren scholar, and Ustadz Adi Hidayat, as a representative of the celebrity preacher. Employing a qualitative descriptive method with a comparative study approach, data were collected through unobtrusive observation of texts, manuscripts, videos, and recorded tafsir sessions shared on social media platforms. The data were analyzed using Thomas Kuhn’s paradigm shift framework. The findings indicate that in addition to linguistic elements, the distinguishing features of Adi Hidayat’s approach include psychological and sociological dimensions, which lead to notable divergences in the duration, method, stages, and delivery attributes of the tafsir. These results affirm that the interpretive divergences between Gus Baha’ and Adi Hidayat are not to be viewed in opposition, but rather as complementary responses tailored to varying audience needs and levels of understanding

    In the digital era, Instagram has become an influential space for the dissemination of Hadith, yet it is often trapped in rigid textual interpretations. The phenomenon of “sweeping-the-road clothing” (garments that trail until they touch the ground) for Muslim women has become a polemic as the ideality of the Hadith text clashes with the reality of infrastructure, hygiene, and transportation safety in Indonesia. This research aims to unravel the contradictions between the Hadith text (matn) regarding the recommendation to lengthen clothing and the reality of its application in digital public spaces, as well as to identify audience reception patterns toward such content. This study employs a qualitative method with a library research approach. Primary data are sourced from posts by the Instagram accounts @cahaya_peradaban, @mahasiswa.salaf, and @fiqihwanita_. The analysis uses Stuart Hall’s Encoding-Decoding reception theory to map the reading positions of netizens. Research findings reveal a misalignment of understanding caused by the dominance of literalism in the presentation of Hadith and the neglect of Indonesia’s geographical context, which is humid and carries a risk of wet impurity (najis). Netizen responses are categorized into three positions: 1) Dominant-hegemonic, where the Hadith is accepted textually as a standard of piety; 2) Negotiated, where the principle of covering the awrah is accepted but practical adaptations are sought, such as wearing socks; and 3) Oppositional, which rejects the application of the Hadith as it is considered irrelevant and hazardous to safety in the Indonesian environment. This study emphasizes the importance of contextualization and comprehensive Hadith commentary (sharh) in digital da’wah to ensure religious messages remain relevant, hygienic, and aligned with the principles of public interest (maslahah)
