Developing and Validating MCA-Equivalent Summative Assessment in Combinatorics Using Aiken’s V Method
This study aims to analyze the content validity of summative assessment items in Combinatorics that are aligned with the Minimum Competency Assessment (MCA) framework. The study was motivated by the need for valid and high-quality assessment tools that support meaningful and sustainable mathematics learning. This study employed a research and development (R&D) design but it focuses primarily on the Develop stage, which aims to obtain a valid summative assessment instrument. The Aiken’s V method was used to measure the content validity of nine multiple-choice items developed according to the MCA numeracy domains, cognitive levels, and contexts. Three mathematics education experts served as validators. The analysis showed that the Aiken’s V indices ranged from 0.64 to 0.73, indicating medium validity. These results suggest that the instrument can be used after minor revisions. The validated instrument provides a reference for educators to design MCA-oriented summative assessments that enhance students’ mathematical literacy and reasoning skills. Future research may apply other validation methods such as Gregory’s analysis to strengthen the evidence of validity
The Sea as a Symbol of Spirituality in the Qur'an and the Bible: Julia Kristeva's Intertextual Approach: Laut sebagai Simbol Spiritualitas dalam Al-Qur’an dan Alkitab: Pendekatan Intertekstual Julia Kristeva
This study is grounded in the finding that the symbol of the sea in the Qur’an and the Bible reveals a parallel yet ambivalent structure of spiritual meaning, functioning both as a representation of humanity’s existential darkness and, simultaneously, as a manifestation of God’s greatness and omniscience. Based on this overarching finding, the study aims to examine the construction of the sea as a symbol in both sacred texts, to trace their similarities and differences through an intertextual lens, and to elucidate the symbolic relationship between the sea, humanity, and God within the two religious traditions. This research employs a qualitative, library-based methodology with a descriptive-analytical approach. Julia Kristeva’s intertextual theory is applied to compare narratives and representations of the sea in the Qur’an and the Bible, emphasizing the dialogical interaction between religious texts. The findings demonstrate that, despite emerging from distinct theological and historical contexts, both scriptures exhibit similar symbolic patterns in their interpretation of the sea. The sea is depicted as a space of inner darkness and moral disorder, as well as a sign of divine power that transcends human rationality. Consequently, this study contributes to the advancement of comparative religious discourse and broadens symbolic understanding in scriptural studies, particularly regarding the relationship between God, humanity, and nature
Membangun Kesalehan Sosial melalui Dakwah di Bulan Suci Ramadhan 1446 H
The holy month of Ramadan is considered an opportune moment for the performance of good deeds. Muslims engage in a greater number of acts of worship during the month of Ramadan than at any other time. Consequently, this period is considered optimal for a Da’i to disseminate the tenets of Islam. It is through this da’wah that the formation of piety in an individual is aspired to be achieved. The present research is classified as qualitative, incorporating two approaches: the field study approach and the autoethnographic approach. This approach is employed because, in addition to the author going directly to the field, the author as a researcher is also the object under study, because the author himself delivers da’wah messages. The findings of this study demonstrate that, in addition to mau’idhah hasanah, wisdom constitutes an approach adopted by the author in their preaching. This approach is employed to adapt to the mad’unya. For instance, in a discourse directed towards mothers, the author employs the theme of maintaining one's verbal conduct. In the context of delivering a sermon to students, the author employs the theme of the significance of manners and knowledge. In the context of tarawih prayer congregations during Ramadan, the author employed the theme of piety as the underlying purpose of fasting. In the context of halal bi halal events, the author employs the theme of maintaining silaturrahim. The dissemination of da’wah messages that are tailored to the mad'unya is anticipated for the author as a preacher, with the objective of fostering piety in individuals according to their specific needs

Digital Dilemma: The Cognitive Impact of Social Media on Early Childhood in Rural Communities
The use of social media among early childhood populations has increased significantly, including in rural communities, in line with technological advancements and growing internet accessibility. This study analyzes the impact of social media on early childhood development using a qualitative-descriptive approach through observation and interviews, and is interpreted through Albert Bandura’s social learning theory. The primary focus of this research is to explore how social media influences the cognitive aspects and socialization processes of children in rural settings, particularly in Lekor Village, Janapria District, Central Lombok Regency. The findings reveal a dualistic influence of social media. On the one hand, social media functions as an informal learning tool that enhances children's early cognitive abilities, encourages them to stay indoors, and provides both entertainment and educational content that supports the development of verbal memory. In settings where peer interaction is limited, social media often serves as a substitute for social companionship. On the other hand, social media has emerged as a new agent of socialization that carries significant risks. Young children tend to imitate behaviors portrayed in digital content that may not align with local cultural values. Negative effects identified include poor communication skills, impulsive behavior, disrupted sleep and eating patterns, anxiety, materialistic tendencies, and exposure to inappropriate content. This study underscores the urgent need for community-based digital literacy initiatives and active supervision by parents and local authorities to ensure that social media functions as an educational resource rather than a source of developmental dysfunction in early childhood

Revealing the Numeracy Skills of Eighth-Grade Students in Solving PISA 2022 Quantity Content Problem
This study is qualitative descriptive research that aims to describe eighth-grade students’ numeracy skills in solving a PISA 2022 quantity content problem. This focus is important because PISA-type tasks require reasoning, quantitative interpretation, and decision-making skills that are essential for students’ mathematical literacy in real-life situations. Thirty-two eighth-grade students of a junior high school in Jambi, Indonesia, participated in this study. Data were collected through a written test adapted from the PISA 2022 released items and follow-up interviews with selected students. The results showed that most students demonstrated low numeracy performance, particularly in interpreting information, performing multi-step calculations, and drawing correct conclusions. Only a small number of students were able to meet the expected indicators of numeracy skills. These findings indicate that students have not yet fully met the cognitive demands of PISA quantity tasks. The results highlight the need for instruction that provides more opportunities for students to practice contextual quantitative reasoning. For classroom practice, teachers are encouraged to incorporate multi-step contextual tasks that gradually strengthen students’ interpretation, strategy selection, and reasoning abilities. The findings also serve as a basis for further research on developing PISA-type jumping tasks adapted to relevant local contexts to support students’ numeracy skills
Development of the "GeoQuest AR" Educational Game Based on Augmented Reality to Enhance Geometry Concept Understanding in Junior High School Students
This study aims to develop and evaluate the effectiveness of an Augmented Reality (AR)-based educational game in enhancing junior high school students' understanding of geometric concepts. Employing the Successive Approximation Model (SAM) as its development framework, the study comprises three main phases: Preparation, Iterative Design, and Iterative Development. The Preparation phase involved needs assessment and problem analysis through surveys and interviews, which revealed that 60% of students experienced difficulties in visualizing geometric shapes. The Iterative Design phase included the development of an initial prototype, tested by ten students and validated by three experts. The validation results indicated high scores in terms of content quality, visual design, and curriculum alignment. While the prototype received positive feedback regarding 3D object visualization, suggestions were made to improve interactivity. In the Iterative Development phase, the final version of the game was refined based on feedback and tested on 60 students using a pre-test and post-test design. Data analysis using a paired sample t-test revealed a statistically significant improvement in students' understanding of geometry, with a notable difference between pre-test and post-test scores (p = 0.032 < 0.05). These findings suggest that AR technology can effectively enhance students’ conceptual understanding and engagement in geometry learning. The study's limitations include a relatively small sample size and a short media usage duration. Future research is recommended to involve a larger sample, extend the intervention period, and further explore aspects of interactivity and media adaptation to individual learner needs for increased effectiveness
Innovative Transformation Geometry Learning: Developing Augmented Reality Media to Boost Students' Critical Thinking
This study aims to develop an Augmented Reality (AR)-based transformation geometry learning media to enhance students' understanding and critical thinking skills. The method used is Research and Development (RnD) with a waterfall software development model. This model is chosen due to its systematic and sequential nature, which facilitates the clear mapping of each development stage. The development stages include planning, design, construction, testing, and implementation, involving validity testing by experts and product trials with students. The validity results show that the developed AR application is deemed highly feasible by media and subject matter experts, with validity percentages reaching 82% and 83%, respectively. Product trials with students showed that the AR application is practical to use, with a student learning completion rate of 88.4%. The results of this study indicate that AR-based learning media is effective in improving students' understanding of transformation geometry concepts and enhancing their critical thinking skills. The implication of this research is that AR-based learning media can be integrated into mathematics teaching, particularly for geometry topics, to improve teaching effectiveness and foster the development of better critical thinking skills in students
Enhancing Conceptual Understanding and Learning Interest in Geometry through Augmented Reality-Based Learning Media
This study aims to develop Augmented Reality (AR)-based learning media in geometry courses to enhance students' conceptual understanding and learning interest. This research uses a Research and Development (R&D) methodology with the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) for media development procedures. The subjects of the study involved students from the Mathematics Education program at a university in Indonesia. Data were collected through validation sheets and effectiveness tests, with validity and reliability tested using paired sample t-tests. The results showed that the AR-based learning media developed received an excellent validation score (4.2/5) from experts and demonstrated significant effectiveness in improving conceptual understanding of geometry (t = 15.23, p < 0.05) as well as students' learning interest (t = 12.76, p < 0.05). The use of AR in geometry learning was found to increase student engagement and make abstract concepts easier to understand. These findings are consistent with previous studies showing that AR can enhance the quality of learning, particularly in complex subjects such as geometry. This study provides empirical evidence regarding the potential of AR in higher education and suggests broader implementation across various disciplines to improve students' understanding and motivation
