The Analysis of Students' Mathematical Critical Thinking Skills Solving HOTS-Based Problems
Abstracts The rapid development of technology in the digital era demands the readiness of students to compete and face various problems that arise. This requires critical thinking skills in formulating problems, finding solutions, and determining the resolution path. Critical thinking skills are needed in the 21st century, where information flows rapidly through digital technology. Critical thinking skills are needed to analyze information that benefits individual students. Innovation in the learning process to develop critical thinking skills involves familiarizing students with problem-based mathematical problems to hone critical thinking skills. HOTS questions are questions that stimulate critical thinking skills. This study will show students' critical thinking skills based on their initial abilities. The type of research used is descriptive quantitative. The instruments used are standard HOTS questions. Samples were taken from representatives of high, medium, and low initial ability students. Data analysis is carried out on student answer sheets. The results showed several critical thinking characteristics of students at every level of initial ability. Students with high initial abilities have maximized critical thinking skills based on indicators. Students with early, medium, and low abilities still do not master all indicators of critical thinking skills. Students must be trained by solving problems using HOTS questions to maximize critical thinking skills. HOTS-based problem-solving exercises are carried out regularly in lecture

Therefore, the Party Math card game can be recommended as an effective and enjoyable tool to strengthen numeracy learning in elementary schools
Efektivitas Konseling Online Berbasis Solution Focused Brief Counseling untuk Mengurangi Stres Akademik pada Siswa SMP
Academic stress is a prevalent psychological concern among junior high school students, particularly due to the increasing academic demands and the widespread adoption of online learning. This form of stress can impair students' academic performance and compromise their psychological well-being. Consequently, there is a growing need for counseling interventions that are both effective and adaptable to the digital learning environment. The present study examines the effectiveness of online Solution Focused Brief Counseling (SFBC) in alleviating academic stress in junior high school students. Utilizing a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group structure, the study involved 10 students assigned to either an experimental or a control group. The experimental group participated in four online counseling sessions, while the control group received no intervention. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. Given the small sample size, non-parametric analysis was conducted using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test to compare pretest and posttest scores in the experimental group. Results demonstrated a significant reduction in academic stress scores within the experimental group, decreasing from an average of 120.8 to 101.6, whereas the control group exhibited an increase from 128.6 to 131.8. The Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test yielded a statistically significant result (p = 0.042, p < 0.05), confirming the efficacy of the intervention. These findings suggest that online SFBC represents a viable and effective counseling strategy for mitigating academic stress among junior high school students, offering a flexible psychological intervention well-suited to the demands of distance learning and digital education context
Spiritual Counseling Grounded in Buya Hamka’s Tazkiyatun an-Nafs: Relevance and Implementation in the Context of Psychological Issues
The escalating prevalence of psychological issues in modern society underscores the need for counseling approaches that transcend purely rational and behavioral strategies to encompass the spiritual dimension of human experience. This article aims to conceptualize a foundational model of spiritual counseling rooted in Buya Hamka's Tazkiyatun an-Nafs framework, presenting an integrative alternative deeply embedded in local values. Employing a qualitative-conceptual approach, this study proposes a three-phase counseling structure: pre-counseling, core process, and post-counseling. This model integrates the principles of Takhalli (purifying the heart from negative influences), Tahalli (adorning the heart with positive values), and Tajalli (guiding individuals to rediscover deeper meaning and purpose in life). The model emphasizes counseling as a process of spiritual recovery aimed at alleviating psychological problems, facilitated through personalized, reflective, and transformative guidance. While conceptual, this article significantly contributes to the contextualization of Islamic counseling and lays the groundwork for future empirical research
