Soil Reinforcement by Using Waste Fibers: A Review

    No full text
Lack of strength of any soil is due to poor condition of that soil which leads to deformability. Soil reinforcement is a technique to improve the engineering characteristic of soil thus increasing the strength of soil. Inclusion of Fibers in the soil for reinforcing it is one of the methods of soil reinforcement. Fibers are obtained from natural, synthetic and waste (nonhazardous type) Materials. Disposal of waste tire and waste plastic pose a major problem everywhere. These waste materials can be used as soil reinforcement. Keeping in view the environmental effects of waste materials literature review is undertaken on utilization of these materials in geotechnical applications

Synthesis and Characterization of Alumina Zirconia Composite Material Doped with Silica

    No full text
Present research work deals with synthesis of alumina zirconia silica Composite material by mixed powder composed of varying weight percentage of alumina and silica with fixed 30% weight composition of zirconia. The characteristics such as bulk density, apparent porosity, linear shrinkage and weight loss behaviour, XRD, bending strength and micro structures of different samples were analysed comparatively with gradual increment of silica content from 0 to 4wt% into base composition. After sintering at 1200°C, samples shows significant change in its physical and microstructural properties such as densification and reduction in apparent porosity, XRD pattern reveal zirconium aluminium oxide phase with conversion of monoclinic zirconia to tetragonal phase and bending strength ware also improved apparently. Micro structure analysis of sintered composite gives relative grain sizes and phases present in different samples which shows improved bonding between the matrixes with silica addition

Automatic Monitoring Tool for Alert System

    No full text
Batch job monitoring tool has been developed to provide real time monitoring and fast detection of job failure in the production. The purpose of the project is to introduce alerts that will be notified to the concerned team in the form of email, when any notable delay or long running or failures occurs in batch jobs. It will notify interested parties in the event that data and signal files do not arrive together in Data Development Environment (DDE) so that when one of these files arrives without the others, the sender of the files can be notified to solve the issue. Also triggers mail if any data or signal files are rejected by batch jobs. This article identifies the business process required to implement monitoring tool and also focuses on system and integration testing to study the monitoring job proces

A Comparison Based Review of DC-DC Step-up Converter

    No full text
This review article mainly focused on high efficiency DC-DC converters with high voltage gain. Output voltage of renewable energy sources like PV modules, batteries and fuel cell delivered output power at the range of 12 to 70 V DC. If we want to connect them into grid the voltage level should be adjust according to the electrical network. The very first step of this is to step-up the voltage up to sufficient level. For this purpose DC-AC conversion can be performed. Performance of the system is affected by the efficiency of step-up DC-DC converters. A comparison of different type of DC-DC step-up topologies will be discussed over number of parameters presented in this article

A Study on Most Used Application of the Design Elements in Graphic Design by Visual Communication Students

    No full text
The study has been taken on the topic “A Study on “Most used application of the design elements in Graphic Design.Design elements are the backbone of any good design. How we are combining these elements in proper proportion plays a vital role in any Design process.Since the dots are the primary unit, this element is not included in the study. Colors and Shape also not included.Lines, Forms and shape are the elements which are included in the study

Use of Machine Learning: Prediction of Crop Yield in Madhya Pradesh, India

    No full text
Machine learning in agriculture is a very novel research, consists in the application of machine learning techniques to agriculture. Machine learning in agriculture field is a relatively research field. In this article describe an overview of machine learning techniques applied to agricultural and their applications to agricultural related areas. Yield prediction is a very important agricultural problem. Any farmer is interested in knowing how much yield he is about to expect. Previously yield prediction was performed by considering farmer's experience on particular field and crop. In any of machine learning procedures the training data is to be collected from some time back to the past and the gathered data is used in terms of training which has to be exploited to learn how to classify future yield predictions. Madhya Pradesh is the heart land of the country and Agriculture is the backbone of its Economy. Majority of the farmers are not getting the expected crop yield due to several reasons. The agricultural yield is primarily depends on weather conditions. Rainfall conditions also influences the rice cultivation. In this context, the farmers necessarily requires a timely advice to predict the future crop yield and an analysis is to be made in order to help the farmers to maximize the crop production in their crops. Yield prediction is an important agricultural problem. Every farmer is interested in knowing, how much yield he is about expect

Challenges Faced in the Treatment of Idioms and Phrases during English- Punjabi Machine Translation

    No full text
An attempt has been made to identify and investigate some existing hurdles in the process of translating idioms and phrases from one language to another. The present study shed lights on Mona Baker's categorization of problems faced during inter-lingual translation of idiomatic pairs and makes an effort to examine those problems and apply them practically largely for some English as well as their existing equivalent Punjabi idioms and phrases. The study signs and reflects that there are a number of crucial factors which should be taken care of in order to translate fixed multiword expressions or idiomatic pairs precisely and accurately

Study of Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene/ HDPE/ Alumina Nanocomposites and their characterization

    No full text
The technology to produce functionalized nano alumina reinforced ultra high molecular weight polyethylene UHMWPE nanocomposite; their resulting microstructure; their tribological and mechanical properties were investigated. The melt intercalation method was followed for development of these nancomposites. An ultra high molecular weight polyethylene UHMWPE/ HDPEblend based nanocomposites containing functionalized nanoscaleAl2O3 with 0.0%; 0.1%; 0.5%; 1% and 5% by weight were developed. Abrasive wear index of developed nanocompositesand wear mechanism is studied in correlation with micrograph of worn out surface. The dispersion of fillers in matrix were also studies using Scanning Electron Microscopy. The various mechanical properties and thermal stability were studied and the influences of nano filler loading on these parameters were observed

A Novel Approach on Impulse Noise Suppression Median-Mean Filter

    No full text
Noise is the undesirable change that corrupts the information being transferred on the channel. All the communication channels are prone to noise, which makes it difficult to recover the original data or image at the receiving end. Noise cannot be completely suppressed on the channel part, this makes it even more challenging for the researchers to design the receiver that can regenerate the original information from the noise affected one. In this article an impulse noise suppression median-mean filter (INSMF) is designed for image data which works on three different window sizes to reduce the error between original and received values. To achieve a high degree of accuracy, not only the benefits of median filtering but also Normalized Euclidean Distance and mean value replacement are explored. Theoretical analysis and experimental results are drawn by taking different noise levels present in channel that determines the effectiveness of the proposed filtering method
