Structure of paper use in the Tale of Genji, Genji Monogatari (The Tale of Genji) by Tameie Fujiwara
Full text linkThe authors employed a VHX-8000 high-resolution microscope to identify the raw materials in the paper structure of "The Tale of Genji" (Tamaya) and to analyze the paper quality, focusing on the search for the "tsure" of Tamaya. The presence of rice starch as a filler was also identified.The original "Genji-maki" by Tameie Fujiwara comprises 46 detached sheets from a Yamato-style bound scroll. To explore the paper quality of this material, high-resolution scanner images were analyzed to examine the structural formation resulting from "nagashizuki" during wash papermaking and to identify the orientation angle of the ligament fibers. Cluster analysis of the orientation angle data revealed four dictinct clusters. The specificity
of the fourth cluster was further verified by analyzing the surface structure of the paper utilizing diverse measurement functions of the VHX-8000. Additionally, the effects of paper processing and fillers on the surface structure were considered.departmental bulletin pape

Full text linkコロナ禍が一区切りした後においても、女性の非正規雇用が多い現状はさほど変わらない状況が続いている。そのことは、女性のライフイベント次第では経済的にも大きな影響を与える可能性を有しているのである。また、日本政府も手をこまねいているのみでなく各種施策を実施してきた。しかしこれらの効果も限定的であるため、本稿ではこの状況を打破するためにテレワークの効果的な普及策を提示した。Even after the end of the COVID-19 pandemic, the high prevalence of non-regular employment among women remains largely unchanged. This persistent issue poses significant risks to women’s economic stability, particularly in relations to major life events. Although the Japanese government has implemented various measures to address this challenge, their impact has been limited. This paper proposes effective strategies to promote telework as a viable solution to enhance women’s employment stability and address these ongoing challenges.departmental bulletin pape

Full text link「傾聴力」は2006 年に経済産業省が提唱した「社会人基礎力」を構成する12 の能力要素の一つである。「傾聴」とは、元来カウンセリングや心理療法といった心理学的実践における手法であるが、昨今はキャリア教育においても注目される概念となっている。しかし、社会人として、あるいは一市民として必要とされる「傾聴力」とは具体的にどのような能力なのか、その定義は明確に示されてはいない。そこで、本稿では「傾聴力」について概観した上で、筆者がキャリア教育科目で行った「傾聴」を促す試みを報告し、今後の課題を提示する。“Listening ability” is one of the 12 key competency elements outlined in the “Essential Competences for Working,” proposed by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry in 2006. “Active Listening” was originally a technique used in psychological practices such as counseling and psychotherapy, however, recently it has gained attention in career education. Despite its growing relevance, there is no clear definition of the type of listening ability required for individuals as members of society or as citizens. This paper explores the concept of “Listening ability,” discusses the authorʼs initiatives to foster “Active listening” in career education subjects, and highlights areas for future improvements.departmental bulletin pape
The Changes in the Campus Locations of Jissen Women’s Educational Institute
Full text linkThis paper summarizes the changes in the campus locations of Jissen Women's Educational Institute. Purchasing and selling campus properties are vital for the institute; and having this information in an easily accessible format is highly desirable. After investigating through the Institute's history books, Board of Directors' materials, and documents from public archives, I have compiled the information into a coherent format as an initial step. While some details are still missing, I plan to continue my research.
This study focuses on the addresses and locations of the campus properties. For more information regarding the relationship between these properties and the educational development of the institute, please refer to the publications "80-Year History," "100-Year History," and "120-Year History" by Jissen Women's Educational Institute.departmental bulletin pape
Current status of the physical fitness of students in health and sports courses
Full text linkThis report summarizes the results of physical fitness measurements in health and sports courses.
The results are summarized below.
(1) Although heights and weights were slightly higher than the national standard, the body fat percentages were within the appropriate range; therefore, it was inferred that the students had a moderate amount of muscle mass and body fat.
(2) Among the physical fitness measurements, muscular strength and endurance of the entire body were lower than national standard values; however, agility and flexibility were not significantly different from the national standard values, and similar annual changes were observed.
These results suggest that it is necessary to develop classes to secure the amount of physical activity in daily life and to maintain and improve the health of students.本稿は、健康スポーツ科目受講者における体力測定の結果をまとめたものである。結果の概要は以下に示すとおりである。
（１）体格は、全国標準値と比較して身長と体重はやや大きかったが、体脂肪率は適正範囲であったため、適度な筋肉量と体脂肪量を備えた受講生であることが推察された。
（２）体力測定のうち、全身の筋力や持久力は全国標準値よりも低値を示したが、敏捷性や柔軟性は全国標準値と大きな差はなく、同じような年次推移がみられた。
以上の結果から、日常生活における身体活動量の確保を見据えた授業を展開し、学生の健康の維持増進を図ることが必要であることが示唆されたdepartmental bulletin pape
Structure of paper use in the Tale of Genji, Genji Monogatari (The Tale of Genji) by Tameie Fujiwara
Full text linkI had the opportunity to visit the Craft Museum in the village of Udatsu Washi in Echizen City, Fukui Prefecture, a renowned area for traditional Japanese paper production. During the visit, we observed and discussed the papermaking process at several washi studios, encompassing the 9th Living National Treasure Ichibei Iwano Studio. We were able to hear firsthand insights from local craftspeople, perspectives that could not be obtained through literature alone. The primary objective of this field survey was not restricted to understanding the manufacturing methods of washi but also to explore the presence and significance of auxiliary materials such as adhesives (Tororo-aoi) and rice flour and to assess the meaning and technical value of these additives． We observed the Tororo-aoi stock solution used in handmade washi demonstrations at the Craft Museum and the suspension of ryogami during papermaking under a digital microscope. Tororo-aoi starch particles were identified in both samples, and their particle size distribution was explored. The findings exhibited that the largest Tororo-aoi starch particle size was 19.7 μm, with the particle size distribution concentrated in the 0-5.5μm range, similar to rice flour starch. Nonetheless, it is currently challenging to identify the origin of the starch based on particle size alone. While the presence of Tororo-aoi starch particles in Japanese paper was verified, the low concentration of Tororo-aoi and the diffuse reflection of light from the thick Japanese paper made it impossible to clearly identify the particles.departmental bulletin pape
