ENHANCING READING COMPREHENSION THROUGH COMIC IN VOCATIONAL SCHOOL
Get PDFThe integral function of reading in fostering scientific literacy is crucial for enhancing pupils' reading proficiency. The utilization of English comics as an instructional medium is anticipated to have a beneficial impact on pupils due to its inherent ability to evoke feelings of happiness among readers. The objective of this study is to enhance the reading comprehension abilities of students in class XI PL SMKN 4 Medan by utilizing English comics as a medium. The present study constitutes a classroom action research that adheres to the research processes outlined in the John Elliot model. These procedures encompass preparation, action, observation, reflection, and evaluation activities. The findings indicated that the mean score for students' reading comprehension fell within the medium range, with a pre-lesson average of 62.70 (57.70%) when utilizing English comic media. Following the acquisition of reading skills and comprehension through the utilization of English entertaining media during the initial phase, there was a noticeable enhancement in the mean reading comprehension proficiency of students, reaching 70 (69.23%). However, it is important to note that this achievement still falls within the moderate range. During the second cycle, there was an observed improvement in students' reading comprehension ability, as evidenced by an increase in the average value and a percentage of 81.54 (88.46%) falling inside the very high group

Get PDFTeaching and learning a language are one of the professional processes of transferring some conscious knowledge from the teachers to learners. Teachers must prepare what knowledge of a particular lesson they are going to transfer to their learners. That is why they need some resilience teaching techniques and related or current teaching materials, design best teaching plans and search and gather best teaching references and apply the resilience teaching strategies to their learners especially in teaching foreign language. As an academic activity, in terms of teaching and learning processes, learners have their own targets to learn a foreign language, for example, to pass the exam managed either by state or private institution. The problem is that we have to know the reasons and the purposes what we learn a new language for. There are so many reasons why people learn a language. Thereof it is very important now for both language teachers and language learners to be able to distinguish between learning a language and learning about the language. This study tries to investigate how the resilience teaching strategy works in learning a language by applying Premium Speaking Cards as one of the teaching medias. Dealing with the research methodology, this study uses a qualitative method. The results of the research shows that premium speaking card game should be applied by language teachers to their leaners in order to gain their speaking quality and the resilience teaching strategies for the teachers, let alone in leaping into an extraordinary era
THE EFFECTIVENESS OF INFORMATION SERVICES USING THE PROJECT BASE LEARNING METHOD TO STRENGTHEN THE PROFILE OF PANCASILA STUDENTS IN THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE INDEPENDENT CURRICULUM AT SMP NEGERI 9 MEDAN
Get PDFThis research aims to determine the profile of Pancasila students at SMP Negeri 9 Medan. The purpose of this research is to describe the differences in scores in character development through the experimental group Pancasila student profile program before and after being given information service treatment using the Project Base Learning method. Meanwhile, the control group was given treatment before and after being treated with information services without the project based learning method. This research is quantitative research with an experimental research type. The object of this research was class VIII students at SMP Negeri 9 Medan. The data collection technique in this research used a questionnaire for students with a Pancasila student profile. The results of this research show that students who have a low Pancasila student profile have bad character and are difficult to be accepted by society. The analysis test results used the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test and the Kolmogorov Smirnov Two Independent Samples analysis test. Thus, based on the results of research conducted, among others: (1) there are significant differences in character development through the Pancasila student profile program for students in the experimental group before (pretest) and after (posttest) with information services using the Project Base Learning method. (2) there is a significant difference in character development through the Pancasila student profile program for students in the control group before (pretest) and after (posttest) with information services. (3) there is a significant difference in character development through the Pancasila student profile program for students in the experimental group and the control group who were given treatment
INCREASING STUDENTS’ WRITING ABILITY AT DESCRIPTIVE TEXT BY USING BITS AND PIECES GAME AT EIGHT GRADE OF MTS PAB 1 HELVETIA MEDAN
Get PDFThis research aims to increase students’ writing ability at descriptive text by using bits and pieces game at MTs PAB 1 Helvetia Medan. This study used class room action research as a methodology. The subjects of this study were 30 students at the eight grade of MTs Helvetia in the academic year 2020/2021. This research used two type data namely quantitative and qualitative. The data quantitative taken by test. On the other hand, to complete the data qualitative were taken by interview, observation sheets, diary notes and documentation. The result of this research showed that there was increasing of students’ writing ability at descriptive text. The mean of the pre test was 59.5 or only 13.33% who success did the test. The mean of first cycle was 70.87 or 36.67% who did the test. And the mean of second cycle was 79.03 or 86.67%. It showed that the mean of second cycle was better than pre-test and first cycle. It can be conclude that bits and pieces game can increase students’ writing ability at descriptive text at eight grade of MTs PAB Helvetia Medan

Get PDFPenelitian ini dilakukan untuk mendeskripsikan perbedaan skor dalam meningkatkan kontrol diri penggunaan gadget pada siswa kelompok eksperimen sebelum dan sesudah diberikan perlakuan layanan bimbingan kelompok menggunakan media pembelajaran tebak kata. Sedangkan kelompok kontrol sebelum dan sesudah diberikan perlakuan dengan layanan bimbingan kelompok. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan tipe penelitian eksperimen. Objek dari penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X TKJ 1 SMK YPK Medan. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan angket kepada siswa untuk mengetahui kontrol diri penggunaan gadget. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa siswa yang memiliki kontrol diri penggunaan gadget yang rendah sehingga ketidakmampuan siswa dalam mengendalikan diri dalam penggunaan gadget terutama dilingkungan sekolah dan pada saat belajar. Hasil uji analisis menggunakan uji dan uji analisis Kolmogorov Smirnov Two Independent Samples. Dengan demikian berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang dilakukan antara lain: (1) terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan kontrol diri penggunaan gadget siswa pada kelompok eksperimen sebelum (pre test) dan sesudah (posttest) dengan layanan bimbingan kelompok menggunakan media pembelajaran tebak kata. (2) terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan kontrol diri penggunaan gadget siswa pada kelompok kontrol sebelum (pre-test) dan sesudah (posttest) dengan layanan bimbingan kelompok. (3) terdapat perbedaan yang sidnifikan kontrol diri penggunaan gadget siswa pada kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol yang diberikan perlakuan (treatment)

Peran Guru Dalam Pembelajaran Project Based Learning Pada Profil Pelajar Pancasila Di Tk Islam Al-Amanah, Jakarta Utara
No full textAbstrakPeran guru dalam pembelajaran Project Based Learning ialah: 1) Guru bertindak sebagai fasilitator yang nantinya guru membantu siswa jika ada kesulitan disepanjang pembelajaran proyek.. 2) Pendidik akan memberikan kebebasan kepada siswa untuk bereksperimen guna menemukan solusi dari permasalahan yang mereka hadapi. 3) Pendidik akan memberikan sumber daya dan informasi kepada siswa ketika mereka mengalami kesulitan sehingga mereka dapat melanjutkan pembelajaran mereka.. 3) Guru akan memberikan sumber daya dan informasi kepada siswa. Para guru di TK islam Al-Amanah Jakarta Utara belum memahami model pembelajaran tersebut secara tepat. Penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif, yaitu hasil akhirnya berupa data deskriptif yang merupakan kata-kata tercatat ataupun melalui pembicaraan antara 2 pihak atau lebih. IMPROVING THE STUDENTS’ SKILLS IN WRITING RECOUNT TEXT BY USING DIARY AT INTEGRATED ISLAMIC JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL HJ. FAUZIAH BINJAI
Get PDFThis research was aimed to find out the implementation of diaey to improve the students‟ writing skiils in writing recount text. The subject of this study were 21 students at IX grade of SMPIT Hj.Fauziah Binjai.This research was conducted by using Classroom Action Research. The qualitative data were obtained from observation sheet and interview sheet. The quantitative data were obtained from test which carried out at the end of every cycles. the tests were given to the students in pre- test, post-test I and post-test II. The result of data analysis showed that the students‟ score increased from the first test, post-test of cycle I to the post-test of cycle II. It could be seen from the mean of pre-test was 58,80 There were 23,80% (5 students) who passed the Minimum Passing Grade (MPG). In the post test of cycle I, the mean was 66,14. There were 33,33% (7 students) who passed MPG. In the post test of cycle II, the mean was 85,77%.There were (18 students) who passed MPG. It indicated that was improvement of the students‟ skills in writing recount text through diary
MAPING THE DEVELOPMENT OF CRITICAL THINKING IN ISLAMIC EDUCATION USING BIBLIOMETRIC ANALYSIS
Get PDFThis study aims to determine the mapping of the development and direction of research on Critical Thing of Islamic Education in publications indexed by the Scopus database. This study used bibliometric analysis techniques to explore all publications indexed in the Scopus database on Critical Thinking of Islamic Education from 1994 to 2023. The data obtained were analyzed using Excel and R/R-Studio. VOSviewer is used to perform visual analysis of keyword occurrence and document citations in a stimulating manner. Researchers found 3,702 publications that fit the function, subject, and criteria set. The results of this study show an annual growth rate. The papers are analyzed in terms of publications by field of science, the number of studies published annually. The bibliometric analysis performed was limited to Scopus data. Other national and international databases were not taken into account in the study. The limitation of this study is only taking data sets or meta data in publications indexed by Scopus. This study presents a brief overview of the literature accessible to researchers working in the field of Critical Thinking of Islamic Education and provides recommendations for future research
THE URGENCY OF PROFESSIONALISM IN LIBRARY MANAGEMENT AT PRIMARY SCHOOL

Data analysis involved three main stages: data reduction, presentation, and drawing conclusions. The findings reveal a lack of professional library management at elementary school Demakan 02 due to the absence of qualified librarians, which has led to the library operating in an ad-hoc manner
