TRANSFORMASI TEKS INFOGRAFIS SEBAGAI STRATEGI UNTUK MENGATASI KESULITAN BELAJAR PADA KEMAMPUAN MEMBACA PEMAHAMAN TEKS EKSPOSISI
This research aims to determine whether the reading comprehension ability of Expository Text in class X TE 4 (Electrical Engineering 1), SMKN 4 Semarang students can improve by utilizing text transformation into infographics. The research subjects were class X TE 4 students with a total of 36 students consisting of (24) male students and (12) female students. The research method used is data collection is using qualitative methods, through interviews with several questions related to the problems faced by students. After qualitative data is obtained, students will be given an infographic of one of the exposition texts and 5 questions related to the exposition text given. The results of the research can be seen through the extent to which students are correct in answering the questions and will be proven through the scores obtained from the 5 questions that have been sent. From the infographic media provided, students were very enthusiastic in observing and answering questions quickly and correctly just by reading the infographic images. In this research, it can be seen that all students are busy looking for answers and no one is lazy anymore. Based on the research results, as many as 90% of their 36 students were able to answer all the questions correctly. So it can be concluded that infographic transformation can increase the reading ability of students in class X TE 4 SMKN 4 Semarang
Opini Publik terhadap Debat Capres 2024: Analisis Sentimen dalam Komentar Live Youtube KPU RI
The presidential debate is a pivotal moment in the election process that influences public opinion about candidates. This study aims to analyze public sentiment regarding the 2024 presidential debate through comments on the live broadcast of the debate on the official YouTube channel of the Indonesian General Elections Commission (KPU RI). A qualitative descriptive method was employed for this research. The data comprised comments collected from the live-streamed debate on the KPU RI’s official YouTube channel using a web scraping technique, utilizing the Python library chat-downloader to extract public comments from the debate videos. The data were analyzed using the BERT (Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers) model adapted for the Indonesian language. The findings revealed that during the first debate, neutral comments dominated (76.3%), followed by positive comments (14.7%) and negative comments (9.0%). Sentiment toward the Anies-Muhaimin pair was predominantly positive (47.5%), while the Prabowo-Gibran pair faced a dominance of negative sentiment (34.5%). The Ganjar-Mahfud pair received mostly neutral sentiment (50.2%). During the second debate, overall negative sentiment increased to 32.1%, while positive sentiment decreased to 27.8%. A word cloud analysis revealed that terms like mantap (excellent), cerdas (intelligent), and menang (win) frequently appeared in positive comments, whereas terms like blunder and janji manis (sweet promises) dominated negative sentiment, highlighting public focus on the candidates’ conveyed issues. These findings illustrate the dynamics of public opinion during the debates and provide strategic insights for the KPU and campaign teams in crafting more effective communication strategies. AbstrakDebat calon presiden (capres) merupakan momen penting dalam pemilihan presiden yang memengaruhi opini publik terhadap kandidat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis sentimen publik terhadap debat capres tahun 2024 melalui komentar pada siaran langsung YouTube Komisi Pemilihan Umum (KPU) RI. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Data penelitian ini berupa komentar yang diperoleh dari siaran langsung debat Capres di saluran YouTube resmi Komisi Pemilihan Umum (KPU) RI. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan teknik web scraping, dengan memanfaatkan pustaka Python chat-downloader untuk mengunduh komentar-komentar publik dari video debat. Data dianalisis dengan model BERT (Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers) yang diadaptasi untuk bahasa Indonesia. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada debat pertama, komentar netral mendominasi (76,3%), diikuti oleh komentar positif (14,7%) dan negatif (9,0%). Sentimen terhadap pasangan Anies-Muhaimin didominasi positif (47,5%), sementara pasangan Prabowo-Gibran menghadapi dominasi sentimen negatif (34,5%). Pasangan Ganjar-Mahfud lebih banyak menerima sentimen netral (50,2%). Pada debat kedua, sentimen negatif secara keseluruhan meningkat menjadi 32,1%, sementara sentimen positif menurun menjadi 27,8%. Analisis word cloud mengungkapkan bahwa istilah seperti mantap, cerdas, dan menang sering muncul dalam komentar positif, sementara istilah seperti blunder dan janji manis mendominasi sentimen negatif, menunjukkan fokus publik pada isu-isu yang disampaikan kandidat. Temuan ini menggambarkan dinamika opini publik selama debat dan memberikan masukan strategis bagi KPU serta tim kampanye dalam menyusun strategi komunikasi yang lebih efektif
Pembelajaran Terdiferensiasi untuk Meningkatkan Keterampilan Berbicara pada Siswa SMA di Indonesia: Sebuah Eksperimen di Kelas
This study aims to determine the impact of the implementation of differentiated learning models on speaking literacy in the Indonesian language subject in class X of SMA Unismuh Makassar. The research method used is a quantitative approach with an experimental design. The study population included all students of class X of SMA Unismuh Makassar, with samples consisting of two classes: the experimental class (X Amanah, 35 students) and the control class (X Kreatif, 36 students). Data collection techniques include written tests, speaking tests, observations, and interviews. Data were analyzed using Descriptive Statistics and Inferential Statistics. The results of the study showed a significant impact of the differentiated learning model on speaking literacy. Based on the Mann Whitney test, the average value in the control class was 81.3056 with a standard deviation of 7.285, while in the experimental class the average was 79.0571 with a standard deviation of 6.978. The average difference of 2.2485 shows that the control value is higher than the experiment, but the significance value of 0.302 (> 0.05) indicates that this difference is not significant, so H0 is accepted and H1 is rejected. On the other hand, in further analysis, the average control value is 80.194 with a standard deviation of 6.440, while the average experimental value increases to 90.028 with a standard deviation of 5.586. The average difference of -9.834 shows that the experimental value is higher than the control, with a significance value of 0.000 ( 0,05) menunjukkan bahwa perbedaan ini tidak signifikan, sehingga H0 diterima dan H1 ditolak. Sebaliknya, pada analisis lanjutan, rata-rata nilai kontrol sebesar 80,194 dengan standar deviasi 6,440, sementara rata-rata nilai eksperimen meningkat menjadi 90,028 dengan standar deviasi 5,586. Selisih rata-rata sebesar -9,834 menunjukkan bahwa nilai eksperimen lebih tinggi dari kontrol, dengan nilai signifikansi 0,000 (< 0,05), yang menunjukkan perbedaan yang signifikan, sehingga H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima. Temuan ini membuktikan bahwa model pembelajaran berdiferensiasi secara signifikan berpengaruh positif terhadap peningkatan literasi berbicara siswa pada mata pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia dibandingkan dengan metode pembelajaran konvensional
INKLUSI PADA CERPEN-CERPEN ANAK RAJA GEMBUL KARYA SOESILO TOER: ANALISIS WACANA KRITIS (Inclusion of The Children’s Short Stories of Raja Gembul by Soesilo Toer: Critical Discourse Analysis)
Language has a role in shaping people's understanding based on socio-cultural knowledge. The understanding of socio-cultural knowledge is referred to as ideology, which is founded on assumptions, expectations, and knowledge of the environment, leading to interpretations of the text. The purpose of this study is to describe the classification of inclusion strategies in Soesilo's short story, Raja Gembul, and to examine the author's socio-cultural hegemony reflected in these inclusion strategies. The data sources for this study were three short stories by Soesilo: “Anak Pembesar dan Polisi”, “Durian Parno Menang”, and “Maka Selamat Sang Lembu”. This qualitative research utilized critical discourse analysis based on Leeuwen's model and Gramsci's hegemony, with the assistance of the Nvivo 12 Pro application for the classification of inclusion strategies in the three short stories. The findings reveal that the hegemonic representations in the three short stories employ various inclusion strategies. Specifically, the short story Anak Pembesar dan Polisi uses 6 inclusion strategies and 5 concepts of hegemony, Durian Parno Menang uses 5 strategies and 3 concepts of hegemony, and Maka Selamat Sang Lembu uses 5 strategies and 5 concepts of hegemony. Bahasa mampu berperan mengubah pemahaman masyarakat berdasarkan ilmu pengetahuan sosial budaya. Pemahaman dari pengetahuan sosial budaya itu dinamakan ideologi. Maka, ideologi hadir berdasarkan asumsi dan ekspektasi, atau maksud dari pengetahuan pada lingkungan, lalu melahirkan interpretasi pada teks. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk: (1) mendeskripsikan klasifikasi strategi inklusi pada cerpen Raja Gembul karya Soesilo dan (2) mendeskripsikan hegemoni sosial budaya pengarang dari strategi inklusi yang digunakan pada cerpen Raja Gembul karya Soesilo. Sementara itu, sumber data pada penelitian ini diambil dari tiga judul cerpen: “Anak Pembesar dan Polisi”, “Durian Parno Menang”, dan “Maka Selamat Sang Lembu”. Metode penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan analisis wacana kritis model Leeuwen dan hegemoni Gramsci. Oleh karena itu, pengumpulan data penelitian ini dibantu dengan aplikasi Nvivo 12 Pro untuk klasifikasi strategi inklusi pada tiga judul cerpen karya Soesilo. Temuan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa representasi hegemoni dari tiga judul cerpen menggunakan strategi inklusi, yaitu sebagai berikut. Cerpen “Anak Pembesar dan Polisi” menggunakan 6 strategi inklusi dan 5 konsep hegemoni. Cerpen “Durian Parno Menang” menggunakan 5 strategi dan 3 konsep hegemoni. Terakhir, cerpen “Maka Selamat Sang Lembu” menggunakan 5 strategi dan 5 konsep hegemoni
Tradisi Malam Selawe dan Pasar Bandeng sebagai Wawasan Budaya Bagi Pemelajar BIPA
Traditions are heritage and must be preserved from generation to generation. BIPA learning is Indonesian language learning for foreign speakers. BIPA students need knowledge and insight regarding Indonesian culture. Indonesian culture is very diverse, such as the night traditions malam selawe and pasar bandeng in Gresik district. This research aims to describe the night traditions of malam selawe and pasar bandeng as cultural insight for BIPA students. This research is descriptive research using interview and documentation techniques in data collection. Data analysis went through three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of this research show that the malam selawe tradition and the pasar bandeng can be used as cultural insight for BIPA students, by introducing traditional processes ranging from grave pilgrimages to milkfish auctions which are useful in increasing BIPA students' cultural insight in communicating and adapting to life in Indonesia
Analisis Wacana Kritis dalam Bidang Pendidikan: Analisis Bibliometrik
This research aims to present trends and developments in the results of critical discourse analysis research in the field of education using bibliometric analysis methods. The data source for this research is AWK journal articles in the education sector indexed by Scopus. Data was collected via the Publis or Perish application, with the keywords Critical Discourse Analysis, Education and Learning; year of publication in the last 5 years, namely between 2017 s.d. 2022, Scopus indexer. Based on this technique, 52 journal articles were obtained which were declared valid according to the problem and research objectives. The research results show that the trending problem or issue studied by AWK researchers in the field of education is the issue of representation and underrepresentation of cultural values and certain cultural groups in educational discourse; the most widely used AWK model is the Fairclough AWK model; The trend for most AWK research publications in the field of education is in the journal Linguistics and Education. Meanwhile, the research country that has contributed the most to AWK research in the field of education is researchers from the United States, while the development of AWK research in the field of education indexed by Scopus in the last 5 years was mostly published in 2018. This research implies that discourse is a means of practicing social representation which is still conditional on inequality. Even though it is in the context of education, inequality still occurs. Starting from there, the recommendation for AWK researchers in the field of education is to be able to research and develop a balanced communication formula, both communication in learning resources and in the learning process. AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyajikan tren dan perkembangan hasil penelitian analisis wacana kritis dalam bidang pendidikan dengan metode analisis bibliometrik. Sumber data penelitian ini adalah artikel-artikel jurnal AWK bidang pendidikan yang terindeks Scopus. Data dijaring melalui aplikasi Publis or Perish, dengan kata kunci Critical Discourse Analysis, Education dan Learning; tahun terbit 5 tahun terakhir, yaitu antara 2017 s.d. 2022, pengindeks Scopus. Berdasarkan teknik tersebut didapatkan 52 artikel jurnal yang dinyatakan valid sesuai dengan masalah dan tujuan penelitian. Hasil penelitian menujukkan bahwa tren masalah atau isu yang diteliti peneliti AWK dalam bidang pendidikan adalah isu representasi dan underrepresented terhadap nilai kultural dan kelompok kultural tertentu dalam sebuah wacana pendidikan; model AWK yang paling banyak digunakan adalah model AWK Fairclough; tren tempat publikasi penelitian AWK dalam bidang pendidikan yang paling banyak adalah pada jurnal Linguistics and Education. Sementara itu, negara peneliti yang paling banyak berkontribusi dalam penelitian AWK bidang pendidikan adalah peneliti asal Amerika Serikat, sedangkan perkembangan penelitian AWK bidang pendidikan yang terindeks Scopus dalam 5 tahun tahun terakhir ini banyak diterbitkan pada tahun 2018. Penelitian ini mengimplikasikan bahwa wacana merupakan sarana praktik representasi sosial yang masih syarat dengan ketimpangan. Sekalipun itu pada konteks pendidikan, ketimpangan itu masih terjadi. Berangkat dari sana, rekomendasi bagi peneliti AWK bidang pendidikan adalah untuk dapat meneliti dan mengembangkan formula komunikasi yang seimbang, baik komunikasi yang ada dalam sumber belajar maupun dalam proses pembelajaran.
Ciri Morfosintaktis Afiks Derivasional {Ber-} dalam Konstruksi Verba Deadjektival Bahasa Indonesia
The affix {ber-} in Indonesian is commonly used to derive adjectives into deadjectival verbs (VDaj). This research aimed to describe the affix {ber-} morphosyntactic characteristics in constructing Indonesian VDaj. The data was collected from bI sentence constructions marked by the affix {ber-} or its variations, which were obtained from the Indonesian-Leipzig Corpora Collection (ILCC) and the SEAlang Library Indonesian Corpus (SLIC). The analysis produced two findings based on the technique of immediate constituent and the theory of Derivational Morphology and Derivational Syntax. Firstly, the morphosyntactic features of affix {ber-} in constructing Indonesian VDaj can only be formed if the affix {ber-} and adjectives are involved. Secondly, there were three tendencies of morphosyntactic characteristics of affix {ber}: (a) creating one-valence VDaj, (b) forming intransitive VDaj, and (c) embedding predicative and appositive functions of VDaj. The analysis of the morphosyntactic features of the affix {ber-} is expected to contribute to the advancement of Derivational Morphology and Derivational Syntax theories by elucidating the formation and function of VDaj bI. The results of this research are helpful for further exploration, especially for exploring the morphosyntactic characteristics of other derivational affixes in Indonesian verb constructions. AbstrakVerba bahasa Indonesia (bI) merupakan kategori gramatikal yang cenderung bersifat resipien universal karena dapat menerima berbagai kategori kata sebagai unsur dasar konstruksinya. Secara morfologis, kata sifat atau adjektiva merupakan salah satu kategori yang lazim dikonstruksikan sebagai verba deadjektival (VDaj) melalui derivasi bersama afiks {ber-}. Kajian ini bertujuan memerikan ciri-ciri morfosintaktis afiks {ber-} dalam konstruksi VDaj bI tersebut. Data kajian ini berwujud konstruksi kalimat bI yang memiliki konstituen VDaj berpemarkah afiks {ber-} atau variasi realisasi morfologisnya seperti {ber-an}, {ber-R}, dan {ber-kan}. Sumber data kajian ini adalah Indonesian – Leipzig Corpora Collection (ILCC) dan SEAlang Library Indonesian Corpus (SLIC). Data dikumpulkan melalui teknik simak/observasi leksikal. Data dianalisis berdasarkan teknik bagi-unsur-langsung dengan mengacu pada teori Morfologi Derivasional dan Sintaksis Derivasional. Berdasarkan analisis, dihasilkan dua temuan sebagai berikut. Pertama, secara gramatikal, ciri morfosintaktis afiks {ber-} dalam konstruksi VDaj bI dapat terbentuk hanya jika afiks {ber-} beserta adjektiva terlibat bersama-sama sebagai input pada proses pembentukan kata. Kedua, secara khusus, terdapat sekurang-kurangnya tiga kecenderungan ciri morfosintaktis afiks {ber-}, yaitu (a) menciptakan VDaj bervalensi satu, (b) membentuk VDaj intransitif, dan (c) menyematkan fungsi predikatif dan apositif pada VDaj. Analisis terhadap ciri morfosintaktis afiks {ber-} ini diharapkan dapat memperkaya teori Morfologi Derivasional dan Sintaksis Derivasional dalam menjelaskan pembentukan dan fungsi VDaj bI. Hasil kajian ini juga bermanfaat bagi penelitian selanjutnya, khususnya untuk penelusuran ciri morfosintaktis afiks-afiks derivasional lainnya dalam konstruksi verba bI
Kosakata Ideologi dalam Alat Peraga Kampanye Pemilu 2024: Analisis Praktik Kreativitas Bahasa
Each election participant uses a large selection of vocabulary to represent the ideology he adheres to in political campaigns. Vocabulary in political campaigns is expressed through campaign props (APK), one of which is in the form of print media. The vocabulary expressions in the campaign props reflect the creativity of the language. The purpose of this study is to describe aspects of vocabulary related to language creativity based on experiential value, relational value, and expressive value from the point of view of us and them ideology. This research is qualitative research. Data in the form of vocabulary containing certain ideologies related to language creativity in the APK for the 2024 election in Surakarta City, Sukoharjo Regency, Karanganyar Regency, Boyolali Regency, and Wonogiri Regency of Central Java province. Data collection using documentation techniques through mobile phone cameras. Data processing uses library techniques, reading techniques, and recording techniques. This study used Van Dijk's ideological box model. The results of research on vocabulary aspects show the existence of experiential value, relational value, and expressive value that utilizes the creativity of language in the form of rhyme, rhythm, alliteration, acronyms, abbreviations, antonyms, synonyms, mixed codes, repetition, metaphor, and hyperbole. Such vocabulary expressions reflect ideological boxes that emphasize the positive on us and the negative on them. AbstrakSetiap peserta pemilu menggunakan banyak pilihan kosakata untuk merepresentasikan ideologi yang dianutnya dalam kampanye politik. Kosakata dalam kampanye politik diekspresikan melalui alat peraga kampanye (APK), salah satunya berbentuk media cetak. Ekspresi kosakata dalam alat peraga kampanye mencerminkan kreativitas bahasa. Tujuan riset ini mendeskripsikan aspek kosakata yang berkaitan dengan kreativitas bahasa berdasarkan nilai pengalaman, nilai relasional, dan nilai ekspresif dari sudut pandang ideologi us and them. Penelitan ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif. Data berupa kosakata yang mengandung ideologi tertentu yang berkaitan dengan kreativitas bahasa dalam APK pemilu tahun 2024 di Kota Surakarta, Kabupaten Sukoharjo, Kabupaten Karanganyar, Kabupaten Boyolali, dan Kabupaten Wonogiri provinsi Jawa Tengah. Pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik dokumentasi melalui kamera telepon seluler. Pengolahan data menggunakan teknik pustaka, teknik baca, dan teknik catat. Penelitian ini menggunakan model kotak ideologi Van dijk. Hasil penelitian aspek kosakata menunjukkan adanya nilai pengalaman, nilai relasional, dan nilai ekspresional yang memanfaatkan kreativitas bahasa bentuk rima, irama, aliterasi, akronim, singkatan, antonim, sinonim, campur kode, repetisi, metafora, dan hiperbola. PENGEMBANGAN BAHAN AJAR TEKS PROSEDUR BERTEMA MAKANAN TRADISIONAL UNTUK SISWA SMP/MTs KELAS VII
Indonesian teaching materials for procedural text material with the theme of traditional food are still rarely found. Teaching materials that are currently developing do not consider graphical aspects such as choosing colors, typefaces, and using pictures or illustrations. Therefore, it is necessary to develop teaching materials for traditional food-themed procedure text materials that have attractive designs with contemporary graphics, communicative language, simple material, and consistent presentation of themes. This research aims to produce teaching materials for traditional food-themed procedure texts with content, presentation, language, and graphics that are feasible to be implemented in learning. This research uses the development model of Borg and Gall version of Sukmadinata which includes (1) preliminary study; (2) design and development; and (3) testing of teaching materials. The types of data obtained from this teaching material development research are qualitative data and quantitative data. The results of the final testing of teaching materials by experts reached a percentage of 99%. Thus, the teaching materials for traditional food-themed procedure texts that have been developed have very feasible qualifications and can be implemented in Indonesian language learning
Speech Acts Production in EFL Classroom Interactions (A Conversation Analysis)
The purpose of this study was to analyze the speech act types and functions that were used by an EFL teacher and their students during classroom interactions. Observational data was collected and analyzed according to Conversation Analysis standards (CA). The findings of the study revealed that the types of speech acts produced by the teacher and students were influenced by their respective roles and statuses. Although the students produced fewer speech acts, they served the same functions as the teacher's speech acts in terms of controlling and managing classroom interactions. As a result, the speech acts of both the students and teacher distributed authority in different ways during turn-taking and commodity exchanges. The practical knowledge and pedagogical aspect of the teacher-student relationship as a unique social event in the classroom context has the potential to effectively manage classroom interactions. AbstrakTujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis jenis dan fungsi tindak tutur yang diucapkan oleh seorang guru Bahasa Inggris dan siswa dalam interaksi di kelas. Data hasil observasi dikumpulkan dan dianalisis sesuai dengan prinsip-prinsip analisis percakapan (CA). Temuan penelitian menunjukan bahwa jenis tindak tutur yang dihasilkan oleh guru dan siswa dipengaruhi oleh peran dan status masing-masing. Meskipun siswa menghasilkan lebih sedikit tindak tutur, mereka memiliki fungsi yang sama dengan tindak tutur guru dalam hal mengontrol dan mengelola interaksi di kelas. Dengan demikian, tindak tutur siswa dan guru mendistribusikan otoritas dengan cara yang berbeda selama pertukaran ide dan proposisi percakapan. Pengetahuan praktis dan asoek pedagogis hubungan guru-siswa sebagai peristiwa sosial yang unik memiliki potensi untuk mengelola interaksi kelas secara efektif
