Moral and Social Education in the Hadith of the Prophet: Analysis of Its Values and Relevance to Modern Islamic Education

This study aims to examine the concept of moral and social education in the hadiths of the Prophet Muhammad SAW and its relevance to modern Islamic education. What distinguishes this study from previous studies is the use of implicit hadiths in explaining moral and social educational values that have never been discussed before. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, accompanied by three main methods, namely literature study, documentation, and contextual analysis, data were collected directly from hadith texts that specifically discuss moral and social education, as well as various supporting literature, including books on hadith interpretation, scientific journal articles, previous studies, and Islamic education literature relevant to this topic. The results of the study show that moral and social education are two integral dimensions that cannot be separated. The Prophet's hadiths emphasise the value of piety, the habit of doing good deeds, the virtue of morals as an indicator of the perfection of faith, and the importance of ukhuwah, solidarity, and mutual assistance in social life. These values are highly relevant to the needs of modern Islamic education, which demands a balance between spiritual, moral, and social aspects amid the challenges of character degradation and individualism. This study emphasises the importance of internalising the values of hadith in the curriculum through habit formation, role modelling, and character building to shape a generation with noble character. Further research is recommended to develop an operational curriculum model based on the integration of moral and social values and to conduct comparative studies to assess the effectiveness of the methods of internalising hadith and riyadah al-nafs in various educational context

This study aims to analyze teacher innovation and challenges in utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning. Using a library research approach, this study examines various credible scientific sources to build a comprehensive understanding of AI integration in PAI learning. The findings indicate that AI supports personalized learning through data analysis and recognition of student learning patterns, expands access to learning resources in various formats, and creates interactive learning experiences through simulations and visualizations. Innovations in AI utilization include self-directed learning, Quranic learning applications with voice recognition features, educational chatbots, virtual assistants, and Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality technologies that enrich learning experiences. However, the implementation of AI also presents several challenges, such as limited infrastructure and technology access, potential reduction of humanistic interaction between teachers and students, and excessive dependence on technology. Therefore, AI should be positioned as a strategic partner for teachers rather than a replacement, maintaining a balance between technological innovation and the spiritual essence of religious education. A wise and well-directed integration of AI is expected to strengthen the quality of PAI learning in responding to the dynamics of the digital era

Reading proficiency is one of the important aspects of language learning. Arabic language assessment is also assessed through the individual's reading proficiency. Obstacles found in one Arabic language learning proficiency are aspects that need to be considered. Students experience obstacles that affect their learning achievement. Having an in-depth identification of the problems of maharah qiraah will make it easier for teachers to teach Arabic. This study uses a qualitative approach with a systematic literature review method. Data sources are obtained from the results of research conducted by other researchers. This is done so that researchers can access more information about the problems of maharah qiraah. To produce relevant research, researchers select articles published in the last five years. Data search uses "Publish or Perish" and also "Google Scholar." Data selection is based on keywords that researchers have determined. Data collected through the two software programs will be selected for as many as seven studies. The selection is based on three important aspects, namely topic relevance, research quality, and also the year of publication. The obstacles faced by both teachers and students are equally important to know. Achievement in learning does not only depend on the teacher but also the students. Each component is involved in achieving learning goals. One of the things that teachers can do to improve students' reading skills is to implement peer groups so that they can improve each other's reading. This study is expected to help teachers find the right solution in dealing with the problem of maharah qiraa

This study aims to explore the integration of the thoughts of Hadratussyaikh KH. Muhammad Hasyim Asy’ari into the curriculum of the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) Study Program at Hasyim Asy’ari University, Tebuireng. Using a qualitative approach through in-depth interviews, observation, and document analysis, the research highlights the actualisation of pesantren values inherited from KH. Hasyim Asy’ari within the context of contemporary Islamic higher education. The main focus is on three core pillars: religious moderation, character development, and the preservation of pesantren traditions, which form the foundation of a sustainable Islamic education vision. The findings indicate that Hadratussyaikh’s ideas—such as the importance of manners (adab), sincerity, accessible scholarship, and a moderate religious spirit—have been integrated into both the curriculum and learning practices. These values not only shape a religious and inclusive academic atmosphere but also strengthen students' identities as agents of change rooted in traditional Islamic scholarship. This integration is reflected in course content and teaching methods, as well as students' religious and social activities, all directed toward forming academically excellent individuals with strong morals and adaptability to contemporary challenges. Thus, this study affirms that KH. Hasyim Asy’ari’s ideas are both relevant and strategic in formulating a model of Islamic religious education that bridges tradition and modernity. The results are expected to serve as a reference for the development of contextual and transformative pesantren-based curricul

This study aims to improve the Critical Thinking Skills of Grade IV Students of SDN 2 Talise through Classroom Action Research (CAR). CAR is a research method deliberately conducted in classroom settings to enhance learning quality. The research follows Kemmis and McTaggart's model, comprising four stages: Planning, Action, Observation, and Reflection. Conducted at SDN 2 Talise during the 2024/2025 academic year, this study involved 17 grade IV students as research subjects. Data collection employed both non-test and test techniques. Non-test methods included interviews, observations, and documentation, while test data was gathered through essay assessments evaluating students' critical thinking skills in social studies material. The study implemented Problem-Based Learning (PBL) assisted by audio-visual media. Results demonstrated progressive improvement across cycles. In Pre-Action, classical learning completion achieved 25%. Cycle I showed improvement to 30.76%, representing a 5.76% increase. Most significantly, Cycle II demonstrated substantial progress with 89.41% classical learning completion, indicating a remarkable 58.65% improvement from Cycle I. These findings reveal that PBL implementation with audio-visual support effectively enhances students' critical thinking abilities. The dramatic improvement from 25% to 89.41% completion rates across the research cycles demonstrates the model's effectiveness. The progressive enhancement pattern confirms that structured problem-based approaches, when properly implemented with multimedia support, can significantly develop elementary students' critical thinking skills in social studies education. Therefore, the Problem-Based Learning model proves successful in improving Grade IV students' critical thinking skills at SDN 2 Talise
