Neurolinguistik Umpatan: Studi Kasus Zoonim Sebagai Julukan Manusia Dalam Konteks Pragmatik
AbstractThis study aims to find out the neurolinguistics of zoonymic swear words as human nicknames in a pragmatic context. This study uses qualitative descriptive with a case study method to explore the use of zoonyms as human nicknames in the social interaction of Javanese society. This study uses a phenomenological approach which understands the subject's experience of a zoonymic swearing event which has become a habit thrown by the people of Gambiran Village RT 02/RW 01 every time they communicate, especially when anger arises, the speaker does not hesitate to say zonim instead of the speaker's name with an indecent name or is equated with an animal. The data collection techniques in this study were participatory observation and in-depth interviews with informants who often used or received zoony-based nicknames in interaction. The sample in this study is part of the population of the Gambiran sub-district, namely the village of Gambiran RT 02 RW0 1 whose object consists of children, adolescents, adults and the elderly. The results of this study were obtained that there were 9 zonim words (Bangke, Budeng, Bedes, Mbote metu ketigo, Tuyul, Ketek, Jaran, Nyambik, Pig, Dog). So, it can be concluded that in a pragmatic context, the speech act of the Javanese people is collapsing, one of which is in Gambiran Village RT 02/RW 01.Keywords: Neurolinguistics, Zoonyms, Humans, Pragmatic

Threshold Value of Blood Procalcitonin for the Diagnosis of Bacterial Meningitis in Children : A Systematic Review
Introduction: Bacterial meningitis has a high mortality rate in children. Bacterial meningitis is diagnosed through medical history, physical and laboratory examinations, and mainly cerebrospinal fluid analysis through lumbar puncture (LP). The procedure on children might be challenging due to the multiple adverse effects; not all children comply with the procedure. There are studies with different blood biomarkers for the diagnosis because it is simple and less invasive in children. Objective: This review focused on the blood Procalcitonin (PCT) threshold value as a promising blood biomarker that might be useful for diagnosing bacterial meningitis in children. Methods: Literature search across 3 databases, Scopus, PubMed, and ScienceDirect, used PICO framework to structure the search, following the PRISMA standards. Of 759 articles, 11 articles met the criteria inclusion: children with meningitis under 18 years old, shows procalcitonin cut-off value and have lumbar puncture performed, sensitivity and specificity reported, in English. Exclusion criteria: studies of systematic reviews, meta-analyses, and literature reviews, as well as the value of blood procalcitonin as part of a scoring system or machine learning model. Results: The analysis of 11 articles reveals a blood PCT cut-off value of 0.2 to 10 ng/ml, with sensitivity ranging from 24% to 100% and specificity ranging from 63% to 94%. Conclusions: Blood PCT helps diagnose bacterial meningitis, especially for children who are not eligible for LP procedures. The blood PCT levels between 0.2 and 5 ng/mL showed a sensitivity of over 85%. The cut-off value with 100% sensitivity was found to be 2 ng/mL. A cut-off value exceeding 5 ng/mL demonstrated a specificity of over 90%
Modulated Hepatic Expression of NF-kB and CCN1 Genes in a Breast Cancer Mouse Model Induced by DMBA and High-Fat Diet
Background: The study investigates the combined effects of 7,12-dimethylbenz[a]anthracene (DMBA) and a high-fat diet (HFD) on hepatic gene expression in a breast cancer mouse model. Both DMBA and HFD are associated with oxidative stress, inflammation, and fibrosis, which may contribute to cancer progression. Methods: Female C57BL/6 mice were divided into three groups: standard diet (ND), ND + DMBA, and HFD + DMBA. Mice in the ND + DMBA and HFD + DMBA groups received DMBA injections weekly for six weeks. The HFD + DMBA group was also fed a high-fat diet for four weeks prior to DMBA administration. After a 12-week treatment period, liver tissues were collected and analyzed for NF-κB and CCN1/CYR61 gene expression using semi-quantitative RT-PCR.Results: The study revealed significant upregulation of NF-κB and CCN1/CYR61 expression in the ND + DMBA and HFD + DMBA groups compared to the control group. Notably, the HFD + DMBA group exhibited the highest expression levels of these genes, suggesting that the combination of HFD and DMBA synergistically exacerbates hepatic inflammation and fibrosis. Conclusion: The findings indicate that a high-fat diet in combination with carcinogen exposure can significantly enhance hepatic gene expression related to inflammation and fibrosis, highlighting the importance of dietary management in cancer prevention and treatment.
Muscle Invasive Bladder Cancer With Chronic Kidney Disease: A Case Report
Background: Bladder cancer ranks as the second most prevalent urinary tract cancer globally, following prostate cancer, accompanied by a significant mortality rate, and cause several complications, for example weight loss, urinary tract infections, metastases to other organs, and can cause chronic kidney failure due to obstruction of urine flow Objective: This case presented the challenging progression of muscle invasive bladder cancer with chronic kidney disease complications and refuse therapies as a clinical lesson for case management. Case Presentation: This case reports the clinical course of a 78 year old man who presented to our hospital's urology clinic presenting with symptoms of hematuria, along with urinary dripping and discomfort. Result: The patient was diagnosed with muscle invasive bladder carcinoma, with a complication of chronic kidney disease, and refused therapies. Conclusion: Controlling bladder cancer that has invaded to the muscular layer and chronic kidney disease was difficult and give poor prognosis linked to their age, type of bladder cancer, and refusal to undergo therapies
Effect of Rhizophora apiculata bark extract on SGOT levels in Rattus norvegicus induced by dexamethasone
Background: The liver's presence of fat has a histological picture with lipids>5%, and no secondary cause is called NAFLD. Rhizophora apiculata can serve as a therapeutic or prophylactic agent in NAFLD due to its flavonoid content. Objective: to ascertain the impact of Rhizophora apiculata extract administration on SGOT levels in white rats subjected to dexamethasone induction. Methods: The experimental animals were categorized into four groups: K- group, no treatment; K+ group, which was administered dexamethasone at a dosage of 5 mg/kg BW from the 15th to the 21st day; KP1 group, which received Rhizophora apiculata ethanol extract at a dosage of 56 mg/kg BW from the 8th to the 21st day, along with dexamethasone at 5 mg/kg BW from the 15th to the 21st day; and KP2 group, which was given Rhizophora apiculata ethanol extract at 56 mg/kg BW and dexamethasone at 5 mg/kg BW from the 15th to the 21st day. Result: The data were not normally distributed (p < 0.05), so the Kruskal-Wallis test was carried out, which yielded p < 0.05. Consequently, the post hoc test was continued, namely the Mann-Whitney U test. The post hoc test of the K-group and K+ obtained p < 0.05. The K+ group and KP1 and KP2 showed P > 0.05, indicating no significant difference. Conclusion: The Rhizophora apiculata extract at a dose of 56 mg/kg BW for 7 days can reduce SGOT levels in the Kp2 group
