ISLAMIC VALUE INTEGRATION IN EFL SPEAKING CLASSES: A LEARNING DESIGN FOR A PROJECT-BASED LEARNING MODEL
This study addresses the dual challenge of linguistic barriers (grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation) and psychological obstacles (low confidence, fear of mistakes) faced by EFL learners in Islamic higher education. It aims to design an innovative English speaking instruction model integrating Project-Based Learning (PjBL) with Islamic moral values, bridging pedagogical and spiritual learning gaps. A mixed-methods approach was employed with 47 students from three Islamic universities in East Java. Data collection combined closed-ended questionnaires (quantitative) and semi-structured interviews (qualitative), analyzed via descriptive statistics and thematic analysis. The study evaluated student perceptions of PjBL and Islamic value integration to develop a preliminary instructional model. Results showed: (1) 89% student awareness of speaking skills’ importance, (2) 82% preference for contextual, collaborative learning, and (3) statistically significant acceptance (p<0.05) only for Islamic value integration through thematic content. The proposed model operationalizes four values—Fathanah (wisdom), Amanah (trustworthiness), Shiddiq (truthfulness), and Tabligh (conveying truth)—across PjBL stages. While the model holistically addresses linguistic, affective, and moral needs, findings are context-bound to Islamic universities in East Java. Generalizability requires validation across diverse Muslim-majority educational settings. This study pioneers a dual-focused framework enhancing both speaking proficiency and Islamic character development. It offers educators a culturally responsive pedagogical tool, aligning 21st-century skills with spiritual values. Future research should test the model’s efficacy through longitudinal classroom implementation
CONDITIONS FOR THE OPERATION OF HIGHER EDUCATION SERVICES: A CASE STUDY IN VIETNAM
This study examines the current legal framework governing the operational conditions of higher education services in Vietnam to identify existing shortcomings and propose suitable remedies. Using case study methods and field surveys conducted at one or more higher education institutions, the research highlights several limitations in the current legal regulations concerning land use, facilities, finance, human resources, curricula, and licensing procedures. These regulations are often perceived as rigid, lacking effective oversight mechanisms, and failing to ensure transparency. Although faculty and staff at higher education institutions demonstrate a high level of commitment, the system continues to face challenges due to limited resources, inconsistent policy implementation, and the gap between academic training and labor market demands. The findings confirm that the existing legal framework and operational conditions do not adequately meet the requirements for flexible, high-quality, and efficient development. Accordingly, the study proposes legal reforms that enhance transparency, strengthen monitoring mechanisms, and revise rigid provisions. The ultimate goal is to establish a higher education system that is accountable, high in quality, and well-aligned with Vietnam’s socio-economic development and international integration
BRIDGING LOCAL AND NATIONAL GOVERNANCE: GENDER-RESPONSIVE REGULATORY INTEGRATION FOR THE PROTECTION OF INDONESIAN MIGRANT WORKERS
Women migrant workers face significant vulnerabilities due to gender inequality and discrimination which are often exacerbated by weak or inconsistent regulations in both sending and receiving countries. This study aims to analyze the urgency of empowerment and the fulfillment of rights for Indonesian women migrant workers at the village level, as well as to explore gender mainstreaming strategies in harmonizing local and national regulations for comprehensive protection. Employing a socio-legal method with sociocultural and intersectional approaches, the research adopts a prescriptive-analytical design. The findings reveal that women migrant workers frequently experience rights violations perpetrated by both state and non-state actors, including employers, recruitment agencies, and private intermediaries. Existing regulatory frameworks often lack gender responsiveness and continue to reproduce gender bias, while the implementation of local regulations, particularly at the village level, remains incomplete and poorly integrated with national frameworks. The study highlights the need for gender mainstreaming in regulatory design, from village-level bylaws to national legislation, to establish gender-responsive protection mechanisms that can effectively reduce discrimination and safeguard the rights of Indonesian women migrant workers.
PARENTS\u27 CURRICULUM ORIENTATION PREFERENCES FOR A PARENT ACADEMY IN PRIVATE PRESCHOOLS
The primary objective of this study is to identify the curriculum orientation preferences (subject-centered, learner-centered, and problem-centered) of parents whose children attend private preschools, specifically for a prospective "Parent Academy" program. Furthermore, the study investigates whether parents\u27 constructivist and traditional pedagogical beliefs serve as predictors for these curriculum orientation preferences. Employing a correlational research design, the study involved 135 volunteer parents from private preschool institutions in Istanbul. Data were collected using the "Curriculum Orientations Preference Form" and the "Constructivist and Traditional Teaching Beliefs Scale," and were subsequently analyzed through Multinomial Logistic Regression. The findings indicate a significantly low preference for the subject-centered curriculum design. Conversely, parents demonstrated a strong inclination towards learner-centered and problem-centered approaches. It was also determined that parents hold strong constructivist beliefs alongside moderate traditional teaching beliefs. The predictive analysis revealed that pedagogical beliefs significantly explain curriculum preferences. An increase in constructivist beliefs correlated with a higher probability of choosing learner- and problem-centered designs, whereas a rise in traditional beliefs was associated with an increased likelihood of preferring the subject-centered design. These results underscore the necessity of designing effective and sustainable parent education programs that align with contemporary paradigms—ones that are flexible, participatory, experience-oriented, and responsive to the expectations and philosophical beliefs of the parents
MINERAL MEMORY AND MATERIAL REVIVAL: THE EVOLUTION OF CHINESE ROCK COLOR PAINTING FROM PAINTED POTTERY TO CONTEMPORARY PIGMENT INNOVATION
This study provides a multidisciplinary synthesis of the historical evolution, material composition, and contemporary revival of Chinese rock color painting. We trace the evolution of mineral pigments from Neolithic painted pottery and early cave paintings to the Tang Dynasty, when they gained popularity, and subsequently to the period of literati ink painting, when their usage declined. The research reveals a fundamental connection between the significance of pigments and the broader artistic and cultural changes in China, specifically in the realm of ceramic aesthetics. Ceramics are specifically emphasized in comparative material studies because of their historical role as early substrates for mineral color and their concurrent technical heritage in color saturation, layering, and pigment stability. This study outlines the shared origins of rock color painting and ceramic decoration in mineral-based visual art. The study subsequently examines the resurgence that occurred in the late 20th century. It discusses how Chinese artists educated in Japan introduced novel material advancements. These comprise synthetic rock pigments, superior mixing agents, and enhanced methods for color sorting. The study investigates the interplay between traditional Chinese techniques, Japanese industrial pigment research, and modern scientific developments in binder formulation. This research offers novel insights on the relationship between pigment invention and the connection of ancient art forms, such as pottery, to contemporary fine art practices through an analysis of rock color painting within a material-cultural framework. It significantly contributes to the ongoing discourse over tradition, sustainability, and the future of mineral-based media

ASEAN has initiated and chaired numerous cooperation mechanisms that link cooperation relations between regional members with countries outside the region stability and security in the East Sea region. ASEAN has initiated and chaired numerous cooperation mechanisms that link cooperation relations between regional members and countries outside the region to ensure stability and security in the East Sea region. With the initiative, flexibility, and ingenuity in operations, ASEAN has known how to take advantage and promote its "central role" to attract the attention and participation of the international community, especially major countries, in properly handling related issues to the East Sea. Although there were certainly challenging times before the impact of many objective and subjective factors, it does not reduce or deny the position and role of ASEAN. With an overall approach through historical and logical methods, combined with analysis and evaluation of some specific events, this article will clarify the role of ASEAN in ensuring stability and security in the East Sea area. We came to some conclusions on that basis, emphasizing that ASEAN continues to have an irreplaceable role, especially in the current context
DIGITALIZATION OF NOTARY SERVICES TOWARDS LEGAL CERTAINTY FOR THE PARTIES IN MAKING DEEDS
This study analyzes the extent to which Indonesia’s positive law accommodates the digitalization of notarial services in the making of authentic deeds and evaluates the legal certainty of digitally created notarial acts. Using a normative juridical approach, the research examines relevant legislation, including Law No. 2 of 2014 on the Position of Notary Public (UUJN), Law No. 11 of 2008 on Electronic Information and Transactions (UU ITE) as amended by Law No. 1 of 2024, and Ministerial Regulation No. 21 of 2021. The findings show that Indonesia’s legal framework still maintains a formalistic concept of notarial procedure that requires the physical presence of parties before the notary, without explicit recognition of digital mechanisms such as electronic signatures, video conferencing, or online identity verification. Consequently, deeds created through digital means cannot yet be classified as authentic and only possess the evidentiary value of private deeds. This legal vacuum weakens legal certainty and creates potential disputes for both notaries and clients. The study concludes that regulatory reform is urgently needed to legitimize cyber notary practices by establishing clear standards for virtual appearances, certified digital signatures, and secure electronic document systems to ensure justice and legal certainty in Indonesia’s digital legal environment
A RE-ACTIVE APPROACH TO DESIGNING GREEN ECONOMY POLICIES: EVIDENCE FROM SUSTAINABLE MINING CONCESSIONS IN INDONESIA
Purpose: This study aims to develop and validate a Green Economy (GE) policy model for sustainable mining concessions in Indonesia through the novel RE-ACTIVE methodology, ensuring both contextual feasibility and policy relevance. Design/methodology/approach: The research adopts a mixed-method approach framed by the RE-ACTIVE steps (Research–Analyze–Construct–Test–Implement–Validate–Evaluate). Data were collected through document review, surveys, field observations, interviews, and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) with Pentahelix stakeholders, representing government, industry, academia, civil society, and media. Benchmarking was conducted with mining regions in Kendari and East Kalimantan to identify best practices. Findings: The prototype model consists of six core components: local regulation, green audit system, transformational CSR, territorial revitalization, monitoring, and periodic evaluation. Empirical testing with a partner mining company demonstrated improvements in ESG indicators, eco-efficiency, green innovation, and stakeholder engagement, confirming both the academic validity and practical relevance of the model. Practical implications: The model provides actionable guidelines for local governments in drafting responsive regulations, for mining industries in adopting sustainable practices, and for communities in ensuring participatory post-mining revitalization. It offers an evidence-based tool that can support the drafting of regional regulations (Perda) and enhance the alignment of local policies with national and global sustainability agendas. Theoretical implications: This research advances sustainability governance and policy evaluation literature by introducing the RE-ACTIVE methodology, which integrates the Pentahelix approach with cultural dimensions. It contributes theoretically by bridging global Green Economy frameworks with local socio-cultural contexts through realist evaluation and theory of change (ToC). Originality/value: This study presents RE-ACTIVE as a new methodological framework for policy design and evaluation, delivering both conceptual innovation and a contextually tested Green Economy policy model that is replicable in other mining regions
