MARX E ECOLOGIA: UMA CRITÍCA AO CAPITALISMO VERDE

    No full text

    No full text
Substance use remains a significant public health concern among adolescents and young people in Saudi Arabia. This systematic review synthesizes available evidence on the prevalence and predictors of substance use in this population. It critically appraises study quality to identify gaps and future research needs. Following PRISMA guidelines, a systematic search of PubMed, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar was conducted for English- and Arabic-language articles published between 2015 and 2025. Eligible studies were independently reviewed and analyzed. Qualitative synthesis generated thematic findings, while meta-analysis estimated pooled prevalence and odds ratios. Study quality was assessed using the Newcastle–Ottawa Scale. A total of 24 studies were included, encompassing psychiatric patients or individuals with Substance Use Disorders (SUDs), students, and population-based samples. The pooled prevalence of substance use was 26.0% (95% CI: 14.5–42.4%) among psychiatric patients and 18.9% (95% CI: 9.2–31.0%) among students. Amphetamines, cannabis, alcohol, and heroin were most common among patients, whereas alcohol, tobacco, hallucinogens, and inhalants predominated among students. Predictors of substance use spanned six domains: demographic factors, comorbidities and psychopathology, smoking behavior, family factors, peer influence, and attitudes toward substance use. Peer influence, smoking, family conflict, and comorbidities consistently increased risk, while parental support was protective. Methodological limitations included a lack of longitudinal designs and theoretical frameworks. These findings inform targeted prevention and policy initiatives addressing youth substance use in Saudi Arabia

IMPACTO DO DELIRIUM PÓS-OPERATÓRIO NO TEMPO DE INTERNAÇÃO E MORTALIDADE HOSPITALAR

    No full text

PATTERNS OF COOPERATION BETWEEN THE GOVERNMENT AND BUSINESS ENTITIES AT THE REGENCY/CITY LEVEL: A LEGAL AND POLICY STUDY IN INDONESIA

    No full text
Infrastructure development at the district/city levels faces challenges due to fiscal constraints and increasing demand for public services. The Government-Business Cooperation Scheme (KPBU) has emerged as an innovative financing alternative that enables risk-sharing, mobilises private capital, and increases project management efficiency. This article examines the pattern of cooperation between the government and business entities from a legal and policy perspective in Indonesia, by reviewing the evolution of regulations, from the national framework, such as Presidential Regulation No. 38 of 2015, to local government regulations under Law No. 23 of 2014. The analysis highlights aspects of value for money, risk allocation, the certainty of return on investment, and the government\u27s position as a legal subject in public-private contracts. In addition, theoretical implications are discussed through classical and contemporary contract law approaches and a utilitarian perspective in assessing the policy\u27s benefits. The findings show that the success of PPPs in the regions is largely determined by legal certainty, institutional capacity, procurement transparency, and harmonisation of regional development planning. With accountable governance oriented towards the public interest, PPPs have the potential to become a strategic instrument for accelerating sustainable infrastructure development and improving community welfare

    No full text
This study was initiated to conduct so to determine the gender and development (GAD)-related environmental factors influencing the Philippine National Police (PNP) policewomen\u27s performance with a focus on the Pangasinan Police Provincial Office (PPPO). The study was conceptualized into descriptive-correlational research, and purposive sampling of policewomen of varying ranks equaled 78. Data were gathered through a validated structured survey questionnaire, of which the psychological part of the policewomen answered questions regarding their motivation, value orientation, and aspirations, while their immediate supervisors assessed their subordinates\u27 performances based on six points. Data\u27s statistical treatment involved the utilization of Descriptive statistics, Spearman\u27s rank correlation, and One-way ANOVA. The findings indicated that policewomen were highly ambitious, value-driven, and highly motivated, and among these, aspirations were the strongest. The workers\u27 behavioral aspect came out to be very satisfactory from the supervisors\u27 perspective overall across all concern areas, and specifically relationships within the workplace, personality of the individual, and area of work were referred to. The relationship came out to confirm the hypothesis that four factors, namely, motivation, values, aspirations, and performance, interconnect. The strongest correlation is determined by aspirations (r = 0.45, p < 0.01). But by ANOVA outcomes, no difference between different groups by the rank with regards to GAD factors and performance was found. Moreover, the results heed the importance of the resourceful and motivational dimensions as key drivers that stimulate women\u27s performance in the workforce while, at the same time, recognizing that systemic obstacles hinder the aspirations of being opportunities of leadership. It proposes institutional transformation that will be having gender-responsive systems of evaluation and promotion among its focus areas, thereby empowering policewomen to achieve their full potential. The outcomes of the study contribute significantly to evidence-based policy-making, including gender mainstreaming into law enforcement

METHODOLOGY FOR MANAGING THE COMPETITIVENESS OF THE REGIONAL AGRICULTURAL SECTOR UNDER CONDITIONS OF SYSTEMIC TRANSFORMATIONS

    No full text
The purpose of the study is to develop and test a methodology for assessing the competitiveness of the regional agricultural sector and rural areas, taking into account the digitalization factor under conditions of systemic economic transformations. The study employs comparative analysis, an index-based approach, and the method of normalized coefficients. An algorithm for comprehensive competitiveness assessment has been developed, including the calculation of partial, composite, and integral indices based on a set of economic, production, socio-demographic, and digital indicators. The methodology was tested using the example of five leading regions of the Russian Federation in terms of agricultural output. It has been established that the competitiveness of the regional agro-industrial complex is determined not only by financial and economic performance and resource productivity, but also by the level of digital development of the territory. Differentiation of regions according to the integral competitiveness index was identified, which made it possible to determine their strengths and weaknesses across key development factors. It is demonstrated that digitalization acts as a system-forming factor in enhancing the efficiency of agricultural production. The proposed methodology expands existing approaches to assessing the competitiveness of regional agriculture by incorporating digital development indicators. The findings may be used in the formulation of regional strategies for the development of the agro-industrial complex and for ensuring food security

This qualitative case study investigated the competency of 14 Malaysian registered counselors in managing clients with histories of suicide attempts. Participants were selected through snowball sampling based on two criteria: (i) registration with the Board of Counsellors Malaysia with a valid practicing certificate, and (ii) experience conducting at least seven counselling sessions with clients who had previously attempted suicide. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and analysed using ATLAS.ti 9, with thematic analysis applied to interview transcripts to generate themes aligned with the research objectives. The findings identified four main themes and 10 sub-themes related to counsellors’ knowledge and understanding in managing suicidal ideation and suicide attempts. The first theme, knowledge, comprised four sub-themes: counselling ethics, abnormal psychology, contributing factors to suicide attempts, and professional networking. The second theme focused on basic counselling skills and their application. The third theme, experience, included personal experience and the experiences of others. The fourth theme highlighted counsellor attitudes, specifically responsibility and inquisitiveness. These findings offer stakeholders critical insights for improving suicide intervention and counseling effectiveness. Future research should build on this by exploring the lived perspectives of clients with suicidal ideation and prior attempts
