    Get PDF
Conflict is inevitable in organizational life, particularly in higher education institutions (HEIs), where effective leadership is essential for maintaining productivity and harmony. This study investigates the conflict management styles employed by unit heads in HEIs in Negros Occidental, Philippines, during the academic year 2021-2022 to support the development of targeted intervention programs. A descriptive-comparative research design was applied, with 94 unit heads from three state universities participating. Conflict management styles were assessed using the Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument (TKI) and categorized as competing, collaborating, compromising, avoiding, and accommodating. The study explored the influence of demographic variables—age, sex, length of service, and educational qualifications—on using these styles. The findings reveal that the avoiding style was most preferred while competing, collaborating, and accommodating were moderately utilized, and compromising was the least favored. No significant differences were found across age, sex, or length of service. However, educational qualifications had a notable impact, with respondents holding master’s degrees showing significantly different preferences in the compromising style than those with bachelor’s or doctorate degrees. A Friedman one-way repeated measures analysis highlighted significant differences among the conflict management styles, with avoiding being rated significantly higher than competing. These results suggest that educational qualifications play a more substantial role in conflict management than other demographic factors, underscoring the need for tailored conflict management training based on educational backgrounds in HEIs

REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH RIGHTS OF WOMEN WORKERS: CHALLENGES AND SOLUTIONS IN MENSTRUAL LEAVE IMPLEMENTATION IN INDONESIA

    Get PDF
The implementation of menstrual leave for female workers represents a significant component of the protection of reproductive rights, as outlined in Indonesia’s Labour and Health Laws. Law No. 13 of 2003 provides female workers with the entitlement to refrain from work on the first and second days of their menstrual period, ensuring that they continue to receive their wages during this time. Nonetheless, implementing this is frequently obstructed by insufficient understanding among companies and prevailing negative perceptions of women who assert this right. Conversely, Law Number 17 of 2023 regarding Health establishes a legal framework to safeguard women’s reproductive health, including the provision of quality health services. For the effective implementation of menstrual leave rights, it is essential to foster collaboration among the government, employers, and relevant agencies. This can be achieved through socialisation and education that promote equality and welfare for female workers in Indonesia

STUDY OF THE ANALYSIS OF DRUG LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT IMPLEMENTATION ON STAGNANT AND STOCKOUT INCIDENTS IN THE PHARMACY UNIT OF NORTH BUTON REGIONAL HOSPITAL, SOUTHEAST SULAWESI

    Get PDF
Timely and continuous drug availability is a key indicator of hospital service quality; however, drug stagnation (overstocking) and stockouts persist as critical challenges in the Pharmacy Unit of North Buton Regional Hospital. This qualitative case study aimed to analyze the implementation of drug logistics management and its contribution to these problems, involving in-depth interviews with drug logistics managers, the head of the pharmacy unit, and hospital management, complemented by document review and field observations. Data were thematically analyzed using NVivo and benchmarked against the indicators stipulated in the Indonesian Minister of Health Regulation No. 72 of 2016. The findings reveal that most stages of logistics management planning, procurement, receiving, storage, distribution, and control were suboptimally implemented. Drug stagnation was primarily driven by inaccurate demand forecasting and uneven distribution, whereas stockouts resulted from supply delays, weak procurement coordination, and the limited effectiveness of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee. Overall, deficiencies in the logistics information system, constrained human and financial resources, and poor inter-unit integration emerged as the main underlying factors, indicating the urgent need for strengthening data-driven demand planning, optimizing the role of the Drug Logistics Unit (KFT), and developing an integrated logistics information system to improve drug availability and service performance at the hospital

IMPLEMENTATION OF LAW NUMBER 23 OF 2019 ON THE MANAGEMENT OF NATIONAL RESOURCES: HUMAN RESOURCE EMPOWERMENT OF INDONESIA’S RESERVE COMPONENT FOR NATIONAL DEFENCE

    Get PDF
The management of national resources for defence in Indonesia has been formally strengthened through Law Number 23 of 2019, which institutionalises the reserve component as part of a total defence posture. Human resource empowerment of the reserve component constitutes a decisive condition for readiness because the reserve force is recruited from civilians who remain embedded in labour markets and education systems. This article examines how the legal and regulatory architecture operationalises empowerment of reserve human resources and identifies implementation risks typical of cross-sector programmes. A qualitative document analysis was conducted on the principal statute and key implementing regulations, supported by a thematic synthesis of recent literature on total defence governance and reserve force management. The findings indicate that the framework provides a structured pipeline from voluntary recruitment to basic military training and subsequent refresher training while also specifying protections for employment and education continuity. Implementation vulnerabilities remain concentrated in interagency coordination, employer and university support arrangements, data governance, and sustained incentives for readiness in peacetime. The contribution is delivered through an implementation-oriented reading of the legal framework that links statutory design to practical empowerment mechanisms and performance metrics

The Nobel Prize in Economics 2014 announcement has officially awakened the business theory states the advanced characteristics of business platform models. It contributes to the precise explanation for practically successful business applications mainly from perspectives of new business models’ justified features instead of technology. Even though denying the importance of technology and traditional business strategies is challenging, some evidence from Vietnam shows that apps may lose their business projects when they run without a clear perception and consumption of the platform’s beneficial characteristics and advantages. The laws and policies on digital business, particularly platforms, must highlight these new business models’ merits to support them while making essential regulations and restrictions
