ETHICAL USE OF ChatGPT IN RESEARCH WRITING

    No full text
The exponential integration of generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools such as ChatGPT into academic contexts has raised critical ethical and pedagogical questions regarding their responsible use in research writing. This study explored the lived experiences of 150 students across secondary, undergraduate, and graduate levels in a Science and Technology University in the Philippines concerning the ethical use of ChatGPT in academic paper writing. Guided by hermeneutic phenomenology, the research sought to interpret how students understand instructor guidance, negotiate trust in AI outputs, and manage tensions between assistance and academic integrity. Data were collected through open-ended survey responses and analyzed thematically using an interpretive approach. Findings revealed five essential structures of experience: (a) holding ethical boundaries, (b) conditional trust through verification, (c) prompting as an acquired skill, (d) tension between helpfulness and dependence, and (e) access-driven workarounds. Participants consistently framed ChatGPT as a supportive yet potentially risky tool, requiring verification, transparent acknowledgment, and sustained authorship of thinking. The study concludes that ethical AI use is not merely rule compliance but an evolving moral and epistemic practice shaped by instruction, infrastructure, and academic culture. This research contributes to the body of knowledge by advancing a phenomenological understanding of ethical AI engagement across academic levels and by conceptualizing responsible AI use as a negotiated practice of boundary-setting, verification, and authorship preservation

THREE - POINT SUPPORT AND GRIP

Supports are not very developed in modern robotics. It is generally accepted that robots (industrial robots) only need to be well-founded and be able to perform their tasks in their reach area. With the development of locomotion robotics, as well as with the development of the space industry, the importance of supports is gaining relevance. Nature here on Earth has shown us that supports (feet) are complex mechanisms of great importance. Revealing the importance and need for the synthesis of supports and grippers is of great importance for the development of mobile, service and space robotics. This material sheds some light on the problems related to the synthesis of support and gripper mechanisms

RECONCEPTUALIZING AGILE PROJECT MANAGEMENT AS A DYNAMIC CAPABILITY: THE ROLE OF CONTEXTUAL AGILITY AND PROJECT COMPLEXITY IN CONSTRUCTION PROJECT SUCCESS

    No full text
Grounded in Dynamic Capabilities Theory (DCT), this study reconceptualizes agility as a strategic organizational capability that enables project-based firms to sense environmental changes, seize emerging opportunities, and reconfigure operational processes. Survey data from 389 construction professionals in Pakistan were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to examine the effects of eight agile strategies on a higher-order construct, Contextual Agility, and its subsequent influence on multidimensional Project Success, while accounting for the moderating role of Project Complexity. The findings demonstrate that Contextual Agility significantly mediates the relationship between agile strategies and project success, with stakeholder involvement, risk management, and change management emerging as the most influential dimensions. Moreover, project complexity strengthens the impact of stakeholder involvement on project success, underscoring its critical importance in complex project environments. This study contributes theoretically by integrating APM within DCT, offering a validated framework that positions agility as a dynamic capability within construction project management

MODERATING IMPACT OF GOVERNMENT EXPENDITURE AND OIL PRICE CHANGES ON INFLATION IN NIGERIA: AN ARDL APPROACH

    No full text
This study explores the moderating effect of government spending and oil price changes on inflation in Nigeria from 1986 to 2024, using annual data. Inflation is measured by the Consumer Price Index, while the main explanatory variables include the official exchange rate, broad money supply, oil price, real interest rate, and an interaction term between government expenditure and oil price. An ARDL estimation technique was used and the ADF Unit root tests confirm that all variables are non-stationary at levels but stationary at first difference, suggesting they are integrated of order one. The bounds test reveals a long-run relationship among the variables. In the long run, the interaction term has a positive and significant effect on inflation (coefficient = 0.7906), indicating that rising oil prices and government spending together increase inflation. Oil price alone reduces inflation in the long run (-0.5096), while the exchange rate is positively related to inflation (0.3437), and the real interest rate negatively impacts inflation (-0.0325). In the short run, oil price increases reduce inflation, but higher government spending during oil booms reverses this effect. The error correction term suggests that 33% of deviations from equilibrium are corrected annually

PREOPERATIVE DELINEATION OF DEEPLY INVASIVE CUTANEOUS TUMORS: A SYSTEMATIC REVIEW OF HIGH-PRECISION IMAGING TECHNIQUES AND OUTCOMES

    No full text
To achieve oncological control and functional preservation, deep invasion of cutaneous tumours should be properly detected during preoperative diagnosis. New imaging methods of high precision are emerging to enhance depth and margin evaluation in locations where clinical inspection and conventional imaging are insufficient. We aimed to evaluate diagnostic performance and impact on surgical planning, and evidence for oncologic and functional outcomes associated with advanced imaging technologies for preoperative assessment of deep cutaneous invasion. A systematic review was done cross several databases like MEDLINE, Embase, Cochrane and ClinicalTrials.gov. Eligible studies were proposals, prospective series, relevant observational studies and trial cohorts with diagnostic accuracy evaluation where high-precision imaging was compared with histopathology/surgery findings. QUADAS-2, ROBINS-I and ROBIS assessed the risk of bias. Twenty-two studies met inclusion. High-resolution MRI correlated the best to histology, and showed measurable reductions in re-excision rates, especially for facial and complex sites. High-frequency ultrasound was able to give accurate real-time estimates of depth but was operator-dependent and not standardised in terms of reporting. Both OCT and RCM are examples of optical methods that can provide cellular-level lateral mapping but suffer from shallow penetration. In their initial trials, photoacoustic and terahertz outperformed X-ray imaging, offering complementary functional contrast and promising thickness estimates. However, these observations have yet to be validated in clinical workflows, and further investigation is warranted in this area. The majority of evidence relates to technical accuracy rather than patient centred outcomes.Using imaging scans can help reduce the incompleteness of the excision procedure in select places. Routine adoption should be targeted and evidence driven. Future experiments involving imaging will include the recurrence of the disease, nerve preservation and cost-effectiveness and standardized performance metrics

THE ROLE OF PEOPLE\u27S PROCURACY IN PROTECTING CONSTITUTION IN VIETNAM

    No full text
In the legal system of countries, the constitution is considered the fundamental law, with the highest legal value, expressing the will, power and common values of the people. Therefore, the protection of the constitution has political and legal significance, related to the protection of the political regime, the state regime and people\u27s sovereignty. The protection of the constitution is carried out by both state subjects (state agencies) and people subjects (social organizations, people) through the organization of law enforcement and supervision of law enforcement. This study refers to the state subject - the state agency that directly exercises the right to prosecute and supervise judicial activities to protect the constitution in Vietnam, which is the People\u27s Procuracy. The theoretical framework is built with 02 independent scales/variables: "Practice of prosecution rights" (PR), "Supervision of judicial activities" (JA); and 01 dependent scale/variable "Protecting constitution" (PC). The author surveyed the opinions of 240 leaders and prosecutors of the People\u27s Procuracy of 3 localities in 3 regions of Vietnam, including Thai Nguyen province (North), Quang Ngai province (Central), Tay Ninh province (South). The survey results show that the practice of the right to prosecute is well implemented, but the supervision of judicial activities is assessed at a lower level due to the impact of many reasons. From the conclusion of this study, the author discusses the content of policies to increase and balance the function of prosecution and the function of supervision of judicial activities towards the goal of protecting the Constitution of Vietnam in a sustainable manner

“A WOMAN’S HAIR IS LONG, BUT HER MIND IS SHORT”: A SOCIO-CULTURAL PERSPECTIVE ON WOMEN IN TRADITIONAL TURKISH SOCIETY

    No full text
Proverbs are one of the most deeply rooted components of culture and function as fundamental references that embody social value judgements and shape the relationship between the individual and society. This study examines the socio-cultural status of women and the gender perceptions in traditional Turkish society through the proverb “A woman’s hair is long, but her mind is short”. The study addresses historical sources, literary texts, and anthropological theories from an interdisciplinary perspective. In Turkish culture, hair has historically symbolized vital energy, power, and social hierarchy. However, the proverb discussed in this study establishes a metaphorical contrast between the concrete physical feature of “hair” and the abstract intellectual faculty of “mind,” thereby distancing women from the rational and public sphere. This reflects a traditional mindset that defines women as aesthetic “ornaments” and confines them to the private domain. Drawing on Delaney’s concept of the ‘open/closed body’ and Foucault’s approach to ‘power and the body’, the study further analyses how mechanisms of social control have limited women’s physical and spiritual existence. Ultimately, the research concludes that such elements of oral heritage function as powerful discursive tools that naturalise gender roles and legitimise their transmission across generations
