HOW BANKING CAREER PATHS SHAPE TURNOVER INTENTION BEYOND DEMOGRAPHICS: A COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF PUBLIC, PRIVATE, AND TRANSITION EMPLOYEES
This study examines how demographic characteristics influence turnover intention in the banking sector by incorporating career transitions between private and public banking into the analytical framework. The study aims to determine whether demographic variables and institutional career experience jointly shape turnover intention and whether career context moderates these relationships. Data were collected from 426 banking employees and analyzed using regression and moderation techniques. The findings indicate that gender and educational level are not significantly associated with turnover intention, whereas age, marital status, income level, and total banking experience show significant relationships. Turnover intention is highest among employees with exclusive private banking experience, lowest among those with exclusive public banking experience, and intermediate among transition employees (private-to-public movers). The results further demonstrate that banking career type moderates the relationships between significant demographic variables and turnover intention, highlighting the importance of institutional career context. The study extends turnover intention research by integrating demographic influences with institutional career trajectories and provides practical implications for differentiated retention strategies in banking institutions
THE PLACE AND METAPHORICAL MEANINGS OF THE WELL CONCEPT IN ABRAHAMIC RELIGIONS
This study examines the interpretation and metaphorical meanings of the well meta-phor in the three Abrahamic religions (Judaism, Christianity, and Islam). Through an analysis of Prophet Joseph\u27s experience with the well, it is observed that the well is treated not merely as a physical place but as a symbol of spiritual journey, trials, and divine wisdom. In the Jewish tra-dition, the well is interpreted as a symbol of exile and redemption; in the Christian tradition as a prefiguration of the Passion and Resurrection of Christ, and in the Islamic tradition as a stage of self-discipline and spiritual development. Employing comparative textual analysis and semiotic methods, the study explores the multi-layered structure of the well metaphor by examining sacred texts, exegeses, and modern interpretations. Consequently, the well metaphor emerges not only as an element of religious narrative but also as a universal symbol that describes humanity\u27s exis-tential journey, its falls and rises, and its oscillations between hope and despair. It serves as a guide for modern individuals in coping with life\u27s challenges, discovering themselves, and achieving spiritual maturity
CONCEPTUAL OPTIONS OF THE METHODOLOGICAL APPROACH TO DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION OF EDUCATIONAL ACHIEVEMENTS
The article aims to substantiate the conceptual and methodological options for digital transformation of educational achievements, focusing on how ICT tools and mathematical modeling contribute to sustainable human capital development and competitiveness. Particular emphasis is placed on aligning educational assessment practices with the requirements of the digital economy and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The study employs a combination of systemic and comparative analysis, statistical modeling (geometric mean, Harrington scale, Monte Carlo method), and pedagogical measurement techniques. These approaches allow the authors to evaluate the limitations of traditional assessment systems, demonstrate the advantages of digital assessment models, and classify their contribution to sustainable educational outcomes. Unlike studies that address digital education primarily through technological adoption, this research highlights the methodological dimension of assessment as a decisive factor in shaping competitive, future-ready human capital. By integrating ICT with advanced mathematical modeling, the paper bridges educational measurement, competitive intelligence, and sustainable development. The digital transformation of assessment systems enhances both the accuracy and reliability of competency evaluation, thereby supporting the formation of 21st-century skills. Beyond measuring academic success, digital assessment becomes a driver of innovation, competitiveness, and sustainability by ensuring the adaptability of human capital to continuously changing labor market demands. The article contributes to the theory of sustainable competitive intelligence in education by refining assessment models, expanding methodological tools for evaluating competencies, and demonstrating how digital intelligence can strengthen educational systems as strategic resources for sustainable development
ANALYSING THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN HUMAN RESOURCE CAPACITY AND WORK PERFORMANCE THROUGH COMPETENCY CONTROL
In the context of transitioning to a knowledge economy and supporting the development of innovation in all aspects, the tendency to determine the capacity of employees by adapting to new roles and challenges and the ability to continuously learn is becoming stronger with special attention to the development and use of human capital. Therefore, capacity research is a strategic research direction aimed not only at personal development, but also at increasing the competitiveness of organizations and countries. In order to determine the net impact of the employee\u27s capacity on the performance of work, the research aims to develop a structural model by defining the competence as a control variable, getting acquainted with the theoretical books of the employee\u27s capacity and competence, and developing and evaluating a structural equation model to determine the relationship between the employee\u27s capacity composition, employee competence, and work performance. put forward and completed the research work. The study involved capacity component analysis, work performance direct correlation analysis, and control variable analysis based on human capital theory, social cognitive theory, and learning ability theory. 322 employees of the service organization were surveyed by questionnaire, the SPSS program and the basic research model were evaluated by PLS-SEM method in the SmartPLC program, the evaluation of the measurement model and the structural model were carried out, the hypotheses put forward in the study were checked based on these criteria, and the model\u27s interpretation ability was evaluated. According to the results of the structural model, the capabilities of the main variable employee had a direct positive effect on performance. This represents a direct relationship between capacity and performance. When considering the employee\u27s competence as a control variable, certain control is given in the main areas of relevance. This delimited the effects of other factors on the main research relationship and increased the accuracy of the results. It was also supported that employee capacity remains a positive effect on performance under competency control
IN SEARCH OF AN ALTERNATIVE TO THE WESTERN-CENTERED WORLD ORDER: NECMETTIN ERBAKAN’S FOREIGN POLICY VISION
This article examines Necmettin Erbakan’s foreign policy vision as a distinctive anti-imperialist and civilizational critique of the Western-centered international order. Departing from conventional realist or pragmatic approaches dominant in Turkish foreign policy analysis, Erbakan conceptualized foreign policy as an ethical and structural struggle against economic dependency, political domination, and cultural subordination. Central to his vision was the construction of alternative networks of cooperation among Muslim-majority and non-Western countries, most notably articulated through initiatives such as the D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation. The study situates Erbakan’s foreign policy thought within the broader intellectual traditions of Islamic political thought, Third Worldism, and Global South solidarities, highlighting his emphasis on “just order” and multipolarity. By analyzing parliamentary speeches, policy proposals, and institutional initiatives, the article argues that Erbakan’s approach should not be reduced to ideological rhetoric but understood as an attempt to formulate a coherent counter-hegemonic foreign policy framework. In doing so, the article contributes to rethinking Turkish foreign policy beyond Euro-Atlantic paradigms and offers insights into non-Western alternatives to modern international relations theory
SMART UNIVERSITIES: GLOBAL TRENDS IN ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND EDUCATION 4.0
The integration of artificial intelligence into higher education has driven the consolidation of the smart university paradigm within the framework of Education 4.0, promoting the digital transformation of university ecosystems. However, despite the accelerated growth of scientific output in this field, existing research exhibits marked thematic fragmentation and uneven regional distribution. The objective of this study was to analyze global research trends on artificial intelligence and Education 4.0 in the context of smart universities using a bibliometric approach. To this end, a descriptive and exploratory bibliometric analysis was conducted on peer-reviewed scientific articles indexed in the Scopus database during the period 2020–2025, following the guidelines of the PRISMA 2020 statement. The data were processed using the Bibliometrix (R) and VOSviewer tools, considering indicators of scientific productivity, impact, and keyword co-occurrence. The results show sustained growth in publications, high author dispersion, and a geographical concentration of production, primarily led by countries in Asia and the Middle East. Artificial intelligence is consolidating its position as a driving force, closely linked to Education 4.0, engineering training, and emerging technologies such as blockchain and educational chatbots, reflecting a transition toward more integrated and intelligent university ecosystems. In conclusion, the findings confirm that research on smart universities is in a phase of expansion and thematic diversification, highlighting the need to strengthen integrative theoretical frameworks and foster greater participation from underrepresented regions, particularly Latin America, to guide digital transformation strategies in higher education
THE ORIGINS OF CRITICISMS ON CALIPH ʿUTHMAN B. ʿAFFAN’S POLICY OF APPOINTING GOVERNORS AND HIS GENEROSITY TOWARDS HIS OWN RELATIVES
This study examines the accusations directed against the third caliph, ʿUthman b. ʿAffan, alleging that he appointed his relatives to governorships on the basis of kinship rather than merit. The criticisms also claim that he granted substantial financial assistance to his relatives and disregarded the advice given to him in opposition to these practices. The research explores the origins of these allegations and emphasizes that they largely stem from Shiʿi groups and are therefore biased. Our analysis shows that ʿUthman observed balance and merit in his appointments, and that the financial assistance he provided to his relatives came from his personal wealth, with no relation to the state treasury. The article concludes that these criticisms were shaped by the politico-religious environment that emerged after ʿUthman’s rule, and that they continue to serve as arguments for various oppositional movements today
ANTIFUNGAL AND INSECTICIDAL ACTIVITIES OF ESSENTIAL OILS OF CHRYSANTHEMUM CORONARIUM AND ACHILLEA MILLEFOLIUM AGAINST CITRUS FRUITS PESTS AND DISEASES
Of all the insect pests threatening fruit tree cultivation, the Mediterranean fruit fly, Ceratitis capitata, is considered one of the most damaging species, particularly for citrus and peach trees in Mediterranean countries. The main objective of this work is to evaluate the antifungal and insecticidal activity of the essential oils of Achillea millefolium (Asteraceae) and Chrysanthemum coronarium (Asteraceae) against the pests of orange, Citrus sinensis, namely the insect Ceratitis capitata and the pathogenic fungi that accompany it.The essential oils of the two plants used were extracted using a Clevenger-type apparatus. Their antifungal activity was tested by radial culture and their insecticidal activity by fumigation. All essential oils exhibited antifungal activity against Aspergillus niger, Fusarium sp1, Penicillium sp, and Fusarium sp2 at the highest concentration (5 µL/mlair). Achillea millefolium essential oil induced 100% mortality after 24 hours of exposure in adult Ceratitis capitata pests. However, for Chrysanthemum coronarium essential oil, larvae were the most affected stage, reaching approximately 35% mortality at the dose (5 µL/ml air). These essential oils could be used as antifungal and fumigant agents against Ceratitis capitata by increasing the dose
