    Get PDF
For most societies with strong patriarchal values, marriage is part of cultural expectations, causing challenges and social stress for single individuals of marriageable age. This phenomenon can also be observed in people in Central Java. In an effort to increase the life satisfaction of single individuals amidst high cultural expectations, this quantitative study aims to explore the influence of self-compassion on life satisfaction. A cross-sectional survey was conducted on 138 single individuals aged between 25-35 years (Mage = 27.84; SD = 3.014). Regression analysis was utilized to determine the contribution of self-compassion to life satisfaction. The results show that self-compassion influences the life satisfaction of single women (r = .537; p = .000) and men (r = .270; p = .34) in Central Java. This means that self-compassion as a psychological strategy can help singles to experience life satisfaction even though they experience social pressure regarding their single status.

Aktivitas antioksidan ekstrak etanol tanaman Etlingera comosa berdasarkan nilai IC50 bagian daun sebesar 11,75 μg/ml sedangkan bagian batang sebesar 83,11 μg/ml. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak etanol daun dan batang Etlingera comosa mempunyai senyawa antioksidan serta memiliki aktivitas antioksidan.   Etlingera comosa is a unique and newly discovered plant species endemic to Tentena, Central Sulawesi. Although the Etlingera genus is believed to contain antioxidant compounds, there has been no thorough research on the specific species Etlingera comosa. This study aims to investigate thephytochemical content of the ethanol extract from the leaves and stems of Etlingera comosa, as well as to evaluate its antioxidant activity. The research utilized the ABTS (2,2'-azino-bis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonate)) method with UV-Vis spectroscopy, measuring at a wavelength of 751 nm to assess the antioxidant activity of the ethanol extract. The findings indicated that the ethanol extract from the leaves of Etlingera comosa tested positive for secondary metabolite compounds, including flavonoids, alkaloids, triterpenoids/steroids, and tannins. In contrast, the stems showed positive results for flavonoids, alkaloids, and tannins. The antioxidant activity was quantified using the IC50 value, 11.75 μg/ml for the leaf extract and 83.11 μg/ml for the stem extract. These results demonstrate that the ethanol extracts of both the leaves and stems of Etlingera comosa contain antioxidant compounds and exhibit antioxidant activity.   Submitted: 09-09-2024, Revised: 26-11-2024, Accepted: 29-11-2024, Published regularly: December 202

The rampant corrupt behaviour that occurs in Indonesia is an unfortunate irony to the integrity of the state and legal apparatus. The Corruption Act is supposed to be a guideline for a clean society that is free from fraudulent and corrupt behaviour. Ironically, the current reality proves that the existence of the Corruption Act is not strong enough to eradicate the chain of corruption. Corruption not only undermines state stability but also hinders national development. Furthermore, it is a violation of human rights and the fundamental values that underpin a nation. This article discusses the role of the Corruption Act as a tool of social engineering throughout society, with particular focus on its status as a written rule and in the context of law enforcement of the Act. Furthermore, the purpose of this research is to examine further the application of the Corruption Act from the aspect of substance in the community. Therefore, this research uses a normative juridical approach. Considering that the eradication of corruption is not something as simple as turning the palm of the hand, in the application of the law it is important to implement good collaboration between institutions and the society. Suggestions must be made to strengthen and tighten supervision in law enforcement, and social education for the community on the importance of having awareness of how destructive and destructive corrupt behaviour is

Indonesia is a large country consisting of tens of thousands of islands with a total of more than 270 million people scattered in it. As a state of law with a welfare state concept that recognizes the protection and recognition of human rights. About this, a horizontal residential development was organized which is now named as a condominium. Condominiums are organized to meet the needs of decent housing for the people of Indonesia, especially low-income people. This is organized to meet the need for housing which is relatively increasing from year to year while the amount of land space in this case land is limited so that it will decrease over time. In condominium management, positive law in Indonesia regulates P3SRS which is a legal entity consisting of residents or condominium owners and has the duty and obligation to manage all common interests and ownership in the condominium. Positive law in Indonesia regulates the obligation of the residents to form the residents association and the obligation of the builder to facilitate the formation of the P3SRS. This research focuses on reviewing and analyzing related legal provisions in providing administrative sanctions against the occupants and builders when the residents assiociation is not formed. The results of this study indicate that there is a legal gap and legal uncertainty related to the provision of administrative sanctions, which only regulates the provision of administrative sanctions against residents who do not form resdents association, while the builders are not regulated by the same administrative sanctions. Thus resulting in the absence of legal certainty in these provisions and leading to various legal problems. The research method used in this research is normative juridical, namely research that analyzes through principles, theories, and legal norms. The approach used is the statute approach through the provisions of the law or positive law and case approach, namely through relevant legal cases to answer the subject matter of this research

Tinjauan Yuridis Problematika Pengaturan Short-Term Accomodation (Rumah Susun) di Indonesia

“Visi Indonesia Emas 2045” is a long-term development plan initiated by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia to escape the middle-income trap by leveraging the Indonesian demographic bonus. Considering the population decline experienced by South Korea and Japan, it is a relief for Indonesia to have this demographic bonus. On the other hand, it intensifies urban population density, potentially transforming “Visi Indonesia Emas 2045” into “Indonesia Cemas 2045” (Indonesian anxiety about their future itself). The increase in population numbers will tighten business competition, forcing individuals to demonstrate survival skills through innovative ideas, such as capitalizing on business opportunities like short-term accommodation triggered by the staycation phenomenon. Related business models threaten the conservative hotel industry sector. The absence of a legal framework addressing this issue in Indonesia has led to significant negative impacts due to legal vacuums surrounding the problem. The persistence of Asian values rejecting Western culture, such as consensual intimacy without holy matrimony, is evident, exacerbated by covert practices in the prostitution business exploiting legal loopholes associated with short-term accommodation. Unlike other countries such as Singapore, which have banned short-term accommodation practices, Indonesia has yet to establish a regulatory framework addressing this issue. This study employs a normative juridical approach to explore the problematic aspects arising from the Indonesian legal framework concerning short-term accommodation and compare it with the Singaporean regulatory framework on that issue
