    CHILDFREE CHOICE IN THE DIALECTIC BETWEEN HUMAN RIGHTS AND ISLAMIC LAW: Navigating Bodily Autonomy and Hifz al-Nasl

    The decision to remain childfree has raised complex ethical and legal debates between the human rights principle of bodily autonomy and Islamic law, which emphasizes hifz al-nasl (preservation of lineage) as part of maqasid al-syariah. This study critically addresses the question: “can the childfree choice be ethically and legally justified within Islamic legal discourse, or does it inherently conflict with maqasid al-syariah?. Using a normative-juridical method and conceptual analysis, this research examines classical Islamic legal sources alongside international human rights instruments (UDHR, ICCPR, and CEDAW), interpreted through Jasser Auda’s sistems theory. The findings reveal that under specific ‘illat al-hukm (legal causes)-such as grave health concerns-the decisions to be childfree may be justified within Islamic frameworks. Jasser Auda reinterprets hifzh al-nasl as promoting care for the family’s well-being. The principle includes generational continuity, quality of life, and relationship. Auda’s expands hifzh al-nafs and hifz al-‘ird to include human dignity and human rights. Consequently, the decision to be  childfree can be interpreted as a manifestation of ethical rensponsibility, aligning with both Islamic values and the principles of inclusive human rights norms

    Pelatihan penyusunan perangkat pembelajaran kurikulum merdeka berbantuan teknologi Artificial Intelligence (AI) membawa inovasi ke dalam dunia pendidikan dasar dengan memberikan pemahaman mendalam tentang penggunaan kecerdasan buatan (AI) dalam konteks pembelajaran. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pengetahuan dan wawasan kepada guru SMP/MTs di Kalipare terkait pemanfaatan teknologi Artificial Intelligence (AI) dalam penyusunan perangkat pembelajaran. Tahapan pengabdian dilakukan mulai dari tahap persiapan, pelaksanaan dan pendampingan, pelaporan dan tahap refleksi dan evaluasi. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian diperoleh bahwa penyusunan perangkat pembelajaran pada kurikulum merdeka berbantuan teknologi AI untuk guru-guru SMP/MTs di Kalipare dapat membantu para guru dalam menyelesaikan berbagai tugas perangkat pembelajaran dan tugas-tugas guru yang lain. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian ini dapat meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran di kelas-kelas SMP. Para guru bukan hanya menjadi pengguna teknologi AI, tetapi juga pencipta dan perancang pengalaman pembelajaran yang lebih adaptif, inovatif, dan relevan dengan kebutuhan siswa. Para guru-guru SMP/MTs di Kalipare dapat terus mengembangkan dan mengeksplor pengetahuannya tentang pemanfaatan teknologi AI dalam penyusunan perangkat pembelajaran, karena penggunaan AI pada era saat ini tidak dapat dihindari lagi, sehingga para guru harus mengikuti

    This journal aims to examine the harmonization of modern values without destroying the essence of religious teachings. The concept of religious moderation is the main foundation that must be applied in a pluralistic society. In the context of pluralistic Indonesia, religious moderation is expected to be a solution to radicalization conflicts and interreligious or interfaith intolerance. Gus Dur prioritized the importance of pluralism, tolerance, and dialogue as a way to build harmonious relations between religious communities. The method used in this research is a literature study, which analyzes various sources related to religious moderation. The results of the study show that religious moderation is not only important to create social harmony, but also as a strategy to maintain the integrity of the nation in facing the challenges of globalization and extremism.     A Teacher's Scaffolding Strategies in Teaching Essay Writing: A Descriptive Qualitative Study: Strategi Scaffolding Guru dalam Pengajaran Menulis Esai: Sebuah Studi Kualitatif Deskriptif

    This study aims to explore the scaffolding strategies employed by an English teacher in teaching essay writing and to examine how students respond to these strategies in an EFL context. The research was conducted at MA Unggulan Al Kautsar Mojokerto with Class X students as participants. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through classroom observations, semi-structured interviews, and analysis of students’ writing products. The findings reveal that the teacher employed various scaffolding techniques, including modeling, guided brainstorming, prompting, questioning, and real-time feedback across the pre-writing, while-writing, and post-writing stages. These strategies helped students better understand essay structures, develop their ideas, and improve their writing organization and coherence. Moreover, students responded positively, reporting increased motivation, reduced anxiety, and improved confidence in writing. The study supports Vygotsky’s sociocultural theory, particularly the Zone of Proximal Development (ZPD), as the scaffolding facilitated learners’ progression toward independent writing. It is concluded that teacher scaffolding is an effective pedagogical strategy that enhances both cognitive and affective aspects of essay writing in EFL classrooms

    Eksplorasi Etnomatematika pada Arsitektur Masjid Besar Gondanglegi Sebagai Sumber Belajar Geometri

    This study aims to explore the ethnomathematical elements embedded in the architecture of the Grand Mosque of Gondanglegi and its potential as a learning resource for geometry in schools. A qualitative approach with ethnographic methods was employed, collecting data through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research seeks to describe the geometric concepts present in the mosque's architectural cultural elements and how they can be linked to culturally-based mathematics education.The findings reveal that the architecture of the Grand Mosque of Gondanglegi incorporates various geometric shapes such as triangles, rectangles, circles, and rhombuses, evident in elements like domes, minarets, and windows. These elements not only hold aesthetic value but also reflect a blend of Javanese, Madurese, and Middle Eastern cultures. The mosque's architecture serves as a tangible example of applying geometric concepts in real life, which can motivate and enhance students’ understanding in mathematics learning.This study contributes to the development of contextual, culture-based learning by emphasizing the importance of integrating local cultural elements into mathematics teaching. Furthermore, the findings are expected to help preserve Islamic cultural values through education while offering innovative strategies for teachers to create meaningful and engaging learning experiences for students.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi elemen etnomatematika yang terkandung dalam arsitektur Masjid Besar Gondanglegi serta potensinya sebagai sumber belajar materi geometri di sekolah. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan metode etnografi, melalui pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mendeskripsikan konsep-konsep geometri yang terkandung dalam elemen budaya arsitektur masjid dan bagaimana elemen tersebut dapat dikaitkan dengan pembelajaran matematika berbasis budaya lokal.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa arsitektur Masjid Besar Gondanglegi mengandung berbagai bentuk geometri seperti segitiga, persegi panjang, lingkaran, dan belah ketupat, yang ditemukan pada elemen seperti kubah, menara, dan jendela masjid. Elemen-elemen ini tidak hanya memiliki nilai estetika tetapi juga mencerminkan perpaduan budaya lokal Jawa, Madura, dan Timur Tengah. Arsitektur masjid ini menjadi contoh konkret penerapan konsep geometri dalam kehidupan nyata yang dapat digunakan untuk memotivasi dan meningkatkan pemahaman siswa dalam pembelajaran matematika. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi dalam pengembangan pembelajaran kontekstual berbasis budaya, dengan menekankan pentingnya mengintegrasikan elemen budaya lokal dalam pengajaran matematika. Selain itu, hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat membantu melestarikan nilai-nilai budaya Islam melalui pendidikan, sekaligus memberikan inovasi baru bagi guru dalam menciptakan pembelajaran yang bermakna dan menyenangkan bagi siswa

    PINJAMAN ONLINE SYARIAH SEBAGAI ALTERNATIF ATAS MARAKNYA PINJAMAN ONLINE ILEGAL: Analisis Konseptual dan Regulasi di Indonesia

    Maraknya praktik pinjaman online ilegal di Indonesia telah menimbulkan krisis sosial dan ekonomi yang signifikan, mulai dari bunga eksploitatif hingga penyalahgunaan data dan intimidasi dalam penagihan. Urgensi perlindungan konsumen dan penciptaan sistem pembiayaan yang etis mendorong pentingnya mengeksplorasi pinjaman online berbasis syariah (pinjol syariah) sebagai solusi alternatif. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis secara konseptual dan normatif potensi pinjol syariah dalam merespons fenomena pinjol ilegal di Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif-deskriptif melalui studi pustaka dengan sumber data meliputi regulasi OJK, fatwa DSN-MUI, situs resmi platform fintech syariah, serta jurnal-jurnal terakreditasi. Teknik analisis yang digunakan adalah content analysis dan pendekatan hermeneutik hukum Islam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pinjol syariah beroperasi dengan landasan akad yang sah, transparansi margin, dan prinsip keadilan, berbeda secara fundamental dengan pinjol ilegal yang melanggar norma hukum dan etika. Meskipun memiliki potensi besar sebagai solusi keuangan yang etis, implementasi pinjol syariah masih menghadapi tantangan literasi masyarakat, keterbatasan akses digital, dan trust issues. Regulasi seperti POJK No. 77/2016 dan Fatwa DSN-MUI No. 117/2018 telah memberikan dasar hukum, namun masih dibutuhkan regulasi teknis yang lebih adaptif. Kesimpulannya, pinjol syariah berperan strategis dalam membentuk ekosistem fintech yang inklusif dan berkeadilan, asalkan disertai sinergi antara regulator, platform, dan edukasi publik yang masif.     This research aims to analyze the laws surrounding interfaith marriage and its position amidst the growing trends of celibacy and being childfree in modern society. In the context of increasing religious pluralism, the phenomena of interfaith marriage, celibacy, and being childfree have become complex issues that require in-depth study. The research method employed is qualitative, utilizing a literature review approach, where the data sources include the Qur'an, Hadith, and social facts found in articles, journals, and news reports. Data collection was conducted through documentation studies, while analysis was based on the thoughts of Imam Ar-Razi in his work Al-Mahshul, which provides a Usul Fiqh perspective on these issues. This research is expected to offer a better understanding of the legal status of interfaith marriage, as well as the social and religious implications of the choices of celibacy and being childfree. The results indicate that the laws regarding interfaith marriage can be divided into two categories: permissible and forbidden. Meanwhile, the laws concerning celibacy and being childfree also depend on the intentions and circumstances of the individuals involved, which can either be permissible or forbidden

    Pengaruh Asesmen Berbasis TIK terhadap Pemahaman Membaca Teks Biografi Siswa SMK

    Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya pemahaman membaca teks biografi di kalangan siswa SMK, yang menjadi persoalan literasi yang signifikan di era digital. Tujuan penelitian adalah mengevaluasi pengaruh asesmen berbasis TIK menggunakan platform Quizizz terhadap pemahaman membaca teks biografi siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan desain eksperimen semu (pretest-posttest control group design). Sampel penelitian berjumlah 60 siswa SMK, dengan instrumen berupa soal pilihan ganda untuk mengukur pemahaman membaca. Data penelitian dianalisis menggunakan uji-t independen untuk menguji hipotesis. Hasil uji-t independen menunjukkan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan antara kelompok eksperimen dan kontrol, yaitu t(58) = 6,88, p = 0,000. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa penerapan asesmen berbasis TIK secara signifikan meningkatkan pemahaman membaca teks biografi siswa. Kesimpulannya, penggunaan asesmen berbasis TIK efektif meningkatkan pemahaman membaca teks biografi siswa SMK. Hasil penelitian ini juga menegaskan relevansi literasi digital dan strategi pembelajaran abad ke-21 dalam mendukung peningkatan kompetensi literasi siswa SMK. Secara keseluruhan, penelitian ini memberikan bukti empiris penting bahwa integrasi teknologi dalam asesmen dapat meningkatkan kemampuan literasi siswa di SMK

    Pembentukan Karakter Generasi Muda Yang Berakhlak Islami ala Manajemen Pendidikan Pesantren

    Character building in the younger generation is crucial for its revival. The younger generation is the spearhead and main pillar for the future revival of the ummah. The young generation must be nurtured with noble morals so that they can support and deliver the message of Islam. Pesantren, as a typical Indonesian Islamic educational institution, has a strategic role in shaping the character of the Islamic young generation. Pesantren not only teaches religious knowledge, but also instills moral and spiritual values to its students. There is a typical pesantren education management that can be applied to the younger generation, namely; 1) Direction 2) Training 3) Assignment 4) Habituation 5) Supervision 6) Uswah Hasanah. There are six main points of typical pesantren management that can be used as a form of effort in character building in the Islamic young generation so that it can be more directed and totality. In this research, the author uses a qualitative method with the approach used is descriptive analysis, namely, retelling what has been seen and researched by researchers. So that the results obtained show that the cultivation of the pesantren education management system in pesantren produces sustainable positive habits in students so that they are able to present Long Life Education in the students' personalities even though they are no longer living in the pesantren environment.ABSTRAK: Pembentukan karakter pada generasi muda merupakan hal yang sangat penting bagi kebangkitan umat Islam. Generasi muda adalah ujung tombak dan pilar utama bagi kebangkitan umat di masa depan. Generasi muda haruslah dibina dengan akhlak yang mulia agar dapat menjadi penyokong dan penyampaian risalah Islam.  Pesantren, sebagai lembaga pendidikan Islam khas Indonesia yang dimana pesantren memiliki peran yang strategis dalam pembentukan karakter generasi muda Islami. Pesantren tidak hanya mengajarkan ilmu agama, akan tetapi juga menanamkan nilai-nilai moral dan spiritual kepada para santrinya. Terdapat manajemen pendidikan khas pesantren yang dapat diaplikasikan kepada para generasi muda, yakni; 1) Pengarahan 2) Pelatihan 3) Penugasan 4) Pembiasaan 5) Pengawalan 6) Uswah Hasanah. Terdapat enam pokok utama manajemen khas pesantren yang dapat dijadikan sebagai bentuk Upaya dalam penbentukan karakter pada generasi muda Islami agar dapat menjadi lebih terarah dan totalitas. Pada penelitian kali ini penulis menggunakan metode Kualitatif dengan pendekatan yang digunakan adalah analisis dekskriptif yaitu, menceritakan kembali apa yang sudah dilihat dan diteliti oleh peneliti. Sehingga diperoleh hasil bahwa dengan penanaman sistem manajemen pendidikan pesantren yang ada pada pesantren menghasilkan kebiasaan positif yang berkelanjutan pada diri santri sehingga mampu menghadirkkan Long Life Education pada pribadi santri meskipun sudah tidak menetap di lingkungan pesantren

    This study aims to implement illustrated storybooks (comics) as a learning medium to enhance reading interest and Arabic language skills (maharah qiraah) among students at Pondok Pesantren Sirojut Tholibin Tulungagung. This research uses a qualitative approach. Data was obtained through interviews, observation and documentation. The findings revealed that Arabic-language comics significantly improved the students' reading skills, created an enjoyable learning environment, and fostered interest in Arabic literature. Comics as a learning medium proved to be relevant to the students' interests and made the learning process more effective, interactive, and meaningful.
