Enhancing Cognitive Performance and Monitoring through a Mobile App: Insights from the Rodi Study
The prevalence of neurocognitive disorders has led to increased interest in mobile health applications (mHealth apps) for detection and training. However, there’s a need for apps that integrate comprehensive cognitive training, assessment, and monitoring in personalized contexts. The RODI app was meticulously developed with the objective of catering to individuals with deficits as well as healthy adults. In this study, 11 participants without diagnosed impairments used the app twice weekly for eight weeks. Results show a consistent enhancement in cognitive performance within the app over time. Notably, a discernible divergence is observed, with the rate of improvement appearing to be comparatively slower in the younger age group in contrast to their older counterparts. Furthermore, the study assesses the reliability of the application using the intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC), confirming its consistent performance across repeated administrations. Finally, the app’s capacity to monitor participants’ cognitive status across various domains is investigated, unveiling controlled variations that indicate foreseeable outcomes within defined parameters. These findings underscore RODI’s potential for cognitive enhancement and monitoring, offering insights into user needs and the broader significance of mobile app interventions for cognitive well-being and future research in this field
Artificial Intelligence System in Aid of Pedagogical Engineering for Knowledge Assessment on MOOC Platforms: Open EdX and Moodle
The aim of this research is to provide a novel educational model with the goal of reducing the expenses associated with manual question production and meeting the demand for a continual supply of new questions on MOOC platforms such as Moodle or Open EDX. We considered integrating machine-learning methods with natural language processing in order to increase the number and validity of assessing questions. To accomplish this, we developed a system that generates multilingual questions automatically.
Various kinds of evaluation were conducted with two factors in mind: evaluating MOOC learners' competency and the similarity of the generated questions to those created by humans. The first evaluation is based on subjective judgment by three MOOC creators, while the second is based on replies from MOOC participants on machine-generated and human-created questions. Both evaluations revealed that the machine-generated questions performed on par with the human-created questions in terms of evaluating skills and similarity. Moreover, the results demonstrate that most of the produced questions (up to 82 percent) enhance e-assessment when the new suggested technology is used

Experimental results verify the effectiveness of the model
Influence Mechanism of Students' Learning Enthusiasm Based on Educational Big Data
Mining a large number of students' behavior data can analyze the differences of students' behavior characteristics. Mining based on students' behavior data can explore the influence mechanism of students' learning enthusiasm, and can provide reference opinions and suggestions for improving students' positive emotions in learning and helping students with poor grades to achieve academic success. The data collected and conclusions obtained by the existing research are not accurate and reliable, and other personality characteristics of students are not fully considered. Therefore, this article studies the influence mechanism of students' learning enthusiasm based on educational big data. It studies the performance of students with good learning enthusiasm in social relations, and mines students’ social intercourse at school based on association rules. It analyzes the regularity of students' behavior and their diligence, and realizes the characterization of students' sustainability and enthusiasm in learning. Combining the differences of behavior characteristics between students with and without learning enthusiasm, this article constructs a learning enthusiasm recognition model and compares it by classification. Experimental results verify the effectiveness of the model
Personalized Combination Recommendation of Short Video Online Learning Resources
Short video online learning resources are widely used in online learning classes because of their strong display ability, popularity and easiness to understand and concise content. The existing learning resource recommendation methods usually ignore the local time series dependence information and possible periodic changes of students' historic online learning rules, and are not suitable for the recommendation scenarios of short video online learning resources. Therefore, this article studies the personalized combination recommendation method of short video online learning resources. Preprocessing of short video online learning resources is carried out, including content feature analysis and candidate recommendation list generation. Then, based on the initial recommendation list, a combination recommendation model of short video online learning resources based on information enhancement and overlapping information of knowledge points is proposed, and the construction ideas of the model are described in detail. Experimental results verify the effectiveness of the model
