Gender perception on the impact of vocational-technical education on the socio-economic development of Urbanizing Port Harcourt Metropolis, Rivers State, Nigeria
No full textPurpose: The study is aimed at determining the impact of vocational-technical education on youths’ socio-economic development.
Methodology of Research: Descriptive design was adopted in carrying out the study, with 4 research questions and hypotheses, 6,003 students of the population from the 12 vocational-technical schools in the state, a sample of 400 students, reliability coefficient of 0.72. Mean and standard deviation were used to answer the research questions; z-test was used to test the null hypotheses at a 0.05 Alpha level of significance.
Results: The study revealed that vocational-technical education brings about economic development, skill acquisition, employment opportunities, aside from poverty reduction in Port Harcourt Metropolis. The study recommends the provision of infrastructure, adequate funding, and proper implementation of policies in vocational-technical schools in Rivers State, Nigeria.
Limitations: This study was limited to the 12 existing public technical-vocational schools in Rivers State, Nigeria. Variables such as skills acquisition, economic development, employment opportunities, and poverty reduction were examined.
Contribution: The study will expose the youths to various opportunities and possibilities, helping them to channel their strength and energy to reasonable economic activities. By so doing, social vices will be controlled
UKRAINIAN CINEMATOGRAPHY IN THE CONTEXT OF STATE GOVERNANCE HISTORICAL DEVELOPMENT
No full textPurpose: The main aim of the article is to cover the existing features of public administration of cinematography in historical dynamics and to reveal the presence of positive development.
Research Methodology: The study used a general logical method of analyzing scientific sources of modern Ukrainian historians to assess the phenomena that have influenced the state of cinematography. The system of development of cinematography during the Soviet Union was taken into attention. Its influence on Ukrainian cinematography was analyzed. The regulatory documents on state support for cinematography from official sources were studied.
Results: Based on the documents' data a diagram showing the transition of the development of cinematography in Ukraine to a higher level was built. It entails new modeling of development in the future.
Limitations: This research uses the descriptive approach dew the special of the theme.
Contributions: The novelty and significance of the worldwide humanitarian science lie in the fact that the demonstration of the general experience of Ukraine in the field of cinematography can be used by scientists from other countries to build appropriate management mechanisms in their countries

No full textPurpose: The purpose of this work is to explore The Trial of Dedan Kimathi through the lenses of revolutionary aesthetics and class stratification as a kind of socio-literary participation. The book's exploration of the notion of revolution delves deeply into topics of tyranny, exploitation, and poverty. Numerous consequences emerged from the examination of the selected text.
Research methodology: Theoretical Framework: Marxist literary theory guided the analysis of the study.
Results: This research documents European aggression, economic exploitation of Africans, taxes and forced labor, the degradation of people's humanity, a decrease in human capital, the depths of hunger and poverty, and Africans' reaction and resistance to these terrible conditions. In order to come up with a long-term solution, we need to understand and agree that Africans have been oppressed and treated cruelly in the past.
Limitations: The study is limited to the play The Trial of Dedan Kimathi.

Social Capital Strengthening Model in the Framework of the Employment Expansion for Native Papuan in Manokwari District, West Papua
No full textPurpose: The aim of this study is to seek the framewok model of the employement expansion for indigenous Papuans in West Papua.
Method: The approach used is grounded theory based on phenomena by applying in the form of concepts, categories, and propositions as a means of construction, reconstruction, and elaboration in a social process, with a constructivism paradigm model and more emphasis on the emic approach.Methods of observation, interviews, and documentation.
Result: The research findings show, namely; (1) there is an imbalance of knowledge and understanding of the meaning of trust; (2) there is a tendency for indigenous Papuans to prefer to work in the formal sector rather than in the informal sector; (3) the collaboration of social capital and other capital in the process of expanding employment opportunities; (4) indigenous Papuans have no mutual trust, mutual suspicion of one another, a sense of inferiority; (5) a sense of injustice (6) the government in empowerment there is no follow-up; (7) MRPB and LMA should collaborate with the Special Autonomy faction, Regional Apparatus, Organizations (OPD), TNI/Polri, and the private sector; (8) Perda and Perdasus constraints
Limitations: There may be something wrong with the implementation of special autonomy in terms of expanding employment opportunities for indigenous Papuans, both in the informal and formal sectors.
Contribution: The presence of the Special Autonomy Law in Papua and West Papua will be a solution or a problem for indigenous Papuans
Market Orientation Model in Indonesia Special Autonomy Regional Government
No full textPurpose: This study aimed to inspect the effect of information technology infrastructure on market orientation. It also intended to examine the impact of market orientation on organizational achievement in Special Autonomy Regional Government.
Research methodology: The study adopted a quantitative research design and obtained samples using cluster and stratified random sampling. The samples were determined on the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) size of Indonesia's five Special Autonomy Regional Governments. Questionnaire items were distributed to the targeted sample from two clusters of Jakarta Special Capital Province and West Papua Province. The two provinces have the highest and lowest GRDP, respectively. Data were collected from 210 respondents comprising the deputy employers in the regional work units of West Papua Province and Jakarta Special Capital. The data were analyzed using Structural equation modeling (SEM) partial least square (PLS) with LISREL 8.80.
Results: The results showed that information technology infrastructure affects market orientation, which mediates the impact of organizational performance of Indonesia's Special Autonomy Regional Government
Debt Financing and Firm Valuation of Quoted Non-Financial Firms in Nigeria Stock Exchange
No full textPurpose: This study examined the effect of debt financing on the firm valuation of quoted non-financial firms on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE). The study specifically evaluated the effect of short-term debt to equity, long-term debt to equity, and total debt to assets on Tobin’s Q for the period 2011 to 2019.
Methodology: The study adopts the ex post facto research design. The sampling technique utilized in the study was non-probability sampling. The final sample comprised seventy-five firms quoted non-financial firms on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE). The secondary data obtained from MachameRATIOS®were analyzed using panel regression techniques. Unlike prior studies, the study also employs the Arellano Bond Dynamic Panel-data Estimation Model for robustness analysis.
Results: There is a negative effect of short-term debt to equity on Tobin’s Q. The effect of long-term debt to equity and total debt to assets was positive and significant.
Limitations: The main limitation is the unbalanced nature of some sectors due to data unavailability.
Contribution: The study contributes to the literature in the context of developing countries, on the effect of long-term debt on firm valuation; consistent with the trade-off theory of the cost of long-term debt financing as an alternative to internal funding
Effect of recruitment and selection practices on organisational strategic goals
No full textPurpose: This study aimed at examining how recruitment and selection practices influence organisational strategic goals.
Research methodology: A descriptive case study design was employed. Data was collected from 311 employees of Nestle Water Company who were randomly selected.
Results: The study showed that screening affects profitability and market share positively though the effects were insignificant. The selection test on the other hand affects profitability both positively and significantly. There was however a positive insignificant relationship between the selection test and market share. Lastly, the study showed that there exists a positive significant relationship between e-recruitment and profitability; as well as e-recruitment and market share of Nestle water company.
Limitations: This study focused on just four recruitment and selection tools as well as employees of Nestle water company.
Contribution: The general assertion of scholars that screening, selection tests, e-recruitment, and employee referral have the capacity to stimulate an increase in the profitability and market share of an organisation was confirmed. It is recommended that future studies consider other recruitment and selection tools which were not considered in this study
The impact of internal control, cultural control, incentives, and work discipline on employee performance (Case study in PT Lestari Jaya Raya)
No full textPurpose: The goal of this research was to see how Internal Control, Cultural Control, Incentives, and work discipline affected Employee Performance at PT Lestari Jaya Raya.
Research methodology: The type of this research is a quantitative descriptive study that used a questionnaire to collect data. This study has a population, they were all employees of PT Lestari Jaya Raya with the sample in this study were office staff of 53 people.
Results: The results of this study showed that Cultural Control and Work Discipline had a positive impact on Employee Performance. Meanwhile, Internal Control and Incentives have no impact on Employee Performance. This means that the greater the Cultural Control and Work Discipline of the employee, the better the resulting Employee Performance
Limitations: This study is limited to the office staff of PT Lestari Jaya Raya so it has not described the overall condition of the employees of PT Lestari Jaya Raya which consists of office staff and operational staff.
Contribution: The results of this study are intended to be beneficial as management input, especially in the field of management accounting related to Employee Performance
Comparison of Indonesian and Malaysian character education
No full textPurpose: This study aims to determine the comparison of policies between Indonesia and Malaysia. his comparison is needed to develop Indonesian education policies so that the quality of Indonesian education policies in the future will be better.
Research methodology: The research method uses a literature study because it compares education policies. Especially character education between Indonesia and Malaysia.
Results: The results showed that Indonesia’s education policies were still categorized as low because it was based on the four components being compared, namely character education goals, character education strategies, education structures, and education management.
Limitations: This study focuses on four components of education policy, particularly character education. There are other parts that can be discussed by further research, namely other parts of Education policy, and can also be compared with other countries.
Contribution: This research can be a consideration for Indonesian policyholders, especially the aspect of character education because it can improve the quality of Indonesian education
Students’ attitude towards online education system: A comparative study between Public and Private Universities in Bangladesh
No full textPurpose: This study aimed to inquire about the students’ attitude towards the online education system as well as a comparison has been made between public and private university students’ attitudes.
Research methodology: The descriptive research methodology was used for this study. Data was collected from 240 students where 120 were public university students and 120 were private university students. A structured and close-ended questionnaire with a seven-point scale had been used to collect data. The sampling method was non-probability. Descriptive statistics analysis, reliability analysis, and multiple regression analysis were measured by SPSS 25.0 version.
Results: The result shows that the public university students’ attitude has a positive relation to interaction, internet self-efficacy, and students’ self-determination, but has no relationship with course design and technical support. The private university students’ attitude is influenced by all factors except technical support.
Limitations: This study focused only on Bangladeshi students.
Contribution: This paper will assist the authority to understand the students’ attitude towards the online education system and take initiatives to make it more acceptable to the students
