Research Methodology: Two focus group discussions (FGDs) were conducted based on judgmental sampling to understand the real scenario from two crucial viewpoints. Result: The study revealed employee engagement (EE) practice in decision-making exists in VGL. The key challenges were identified as proper knowledge and qualification, physical dispersion among the parties in some cases, middlemen between the parties, mutual understanding and respect, unwillingness to delegate power, and nonexistence or nonfunctioning of the plant-level trade union. Limitation: The study was just an exploratory type hence some descriptive results based on the above variables need to be explored. In addition, a few causal relationships among the variable can also be tested in this particular research domain. Originality: Most of the earlier researchers could not address Plant level Trade Unionism (TU) can be considered a platform of EE practice. However, this research has addressed the issue as evidence from the real-life investigation. In addition, the garment firms may allow the specialized garment business-related TU practice at the micro-level as a platform for their EE practice

Purpose: This study determined the influence of time management and self-directed learning on the academic performance of students in Mathematics. Methodology: A quantitative research design utilizing descriptive and correlational approaches was employed. 152 Grade 9 respondents were chosen from private schools in Davao City. Results: The findings indicated that time management is manifested most of the time and self-directed learning is much observed. Moreover, the academic performance in Mathematics is not proficient. Further, time management and self-directed learning were found to have no significant relationship with academic performance in Mathematics. Thus, time management and self-directed learning do not significantly predict academic performance in Mathematics. A decision-making model to outsource complex product systems research and development projects

    No full text
Purpose: Complex product systems are goods with high technology. Research and development on their production requires resources beyond the capability of an organization. This study aimed to propose a decision-making model to outsource CoPS R&D projects. Research methodology: The decision-making criteria were identified using the literature review and the Fuzzy Delphi method. Two conceptual models were developed using structural equation modeling. The pattern of relationships among criteria were determined by employing the DEMATEL technique. Then to prioritize the criteria and select between alternatives, the analytical network process was utilized. Results: In the intra-organizational model, “project characteristics” has a positive effect on “requirements” and the latter has a similar effect on “competency”. In the extra-organizational model, the “competency” has a positive effect on the “task performing capability”, and the latter has a similar effect on the “adaptability”. A two-stage decision model was developed. In the first stage, the decision to in/outsource the project is taken. In the second one, the mechanism of outsourcing is determined. Limitation: Due to the breadth of types of inter-organizational cooperation in the range of integration between the organization and the supplier, only one of these types, namely outsourcing, has been addressed. Contribution: An organization cannot outsource the development of CoPS unless it enjoys the technological, contractual, project control, integration, and soft technologies competencies. Furthermore, appropriate communication strategies and adequate financial resources are required. The managers of organizations developing CoPS such as airplanes, missiles, and power plants and can utilize the implications of the model

    No full text
Purpose: The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between school culture and academic enthusiasm with academic hope and motivation in high school students. Research methodology: The present study is applied in terms of purpose and is among the descriptive studies of correlation type. The statistical population includes all high school students in Zahak city, whose number in the academic year 2021-2022 is 1324 people.Using Morgan table and Cochran's formula, 297 students were selected by statistical random sampling as a statistical sample. To prevent statistical sample loss and better adequacy, a sample of 320 questionnaires was distributed by multi-stage random cluster sampling method. Results: The results of the analysis showed that there is a positive and significant relationship between academic motivation and students' academic enthusiasm. The intensity of this relationship is very strong and academic motivation has the power to predict academic enthusiasm. There is no significant relationship between school culture and academic motivation and school culture does not have the power to predict academic motivation. Limitations: What should be considered by school parents is to pay attention to creating a correct and flexible culture in school, because each student spends more than half of his time in school and is exposed to school relationships and culture, and these relationships over time. Contribution: Among the limitations of the research are the lack of sufficient scientific content around the research variables, the lack of cooperation of some schools in the implementation of the questionnaire and the limitation in the generalizability of the results of this research
