    No full text
Purpose: This study investigates how young adults manage their finances. It examines the impact of three factors: allowance (pocket money), financial habits (lifestyle), and access to financial services (inclusion). Methods: The study population comprised college students in Bandung, Indonesia. A sample of 159 college students was selected to understand their financial management practices and related factors. Results: The study found that Allowance and financial inclusion significantly influenced how young adults managed their finances. These factors were found to have a significant impact, with p-values less than 0.05. Students who manage their income exhibit better budgeting and spending habits. Access to financial services positively affects students' financial management skills and encourages safer savings methods. However, lifestyle factors did not significantly impact financial management, contrary to the findings of previous research. This suggests that other factors might be more crucial for financial discipline. Conclusions: This study finds that pocket money and financial inclusion significantly enhance financial management skills among university students, while lifestyle has little impact, highlighting the need for education that fosters saving, investing, and responsible financial behavior. Limitations: This study focused on a specific student population in Bandung, Indonesia. Further research is required to determine whether these findings apply to broader demographic groups.   Contribution: This study underscores the role of schools and families in enhancing students’ financial literacy through education, allowances, and financial inclusion. Novelty: This study reveals that lifestyle habits have a limited impact on financial management among tech-savvy youth, suggesting the need to reconsider financial education strategies, particularly in trend-driven contexts such as Bandung

    No full text
Purpose: the author is interested in conducting this research; One of the problems related to the dilemma between formal or material categories can be seen related to the expiration date. Research methodology: This research is a normative legal research by discussing case studies of existing court decisions and is linked to applicable provisions and regulations and the opinions of legal scholars. Conclusions: The conclusion of this study is that the statute of limitations (verjaring) is regulated in Article 78 of the Criminal Code (KUHP) which is in fact the time limit for the public prosecutor to exercise his prosecution authority. In fact, the statute of limitations is a material aspect that is considered no longer needed for criminalization because it exceeds the time. However, there is an opinion that considers that the statute of limitations is a formal scope, because it is related to the administration of a case, not the main material of the case. On this basis, it can be seen that there are differences of opinion regarding the scope of the statute of limitations, which is in fact debated between the material or formal realm

The effect of financial inclusion on poverty rate in Sumatra Island

    No full text
Purpose: Poverty is still one of the main problems faced by developing countries like Indonesia, despite having experienced significant economic progress in recent decades. Economic inequality in Indonesia can be illustrated through an inverted triangle pattern, where most people live in poverty, while a handful of groups enjoy prosperity. Although the poverty rate in Indonesia is decreasing, there are still regions, especially on the island of Sumatra, that record higher poverty rates than other regions. In this case, financial inclusion is one of the solutions that is considered effective to reduce poverty. Access to adequate financial services provides opportunities for poor people to improve their well-being through savings, credit, or insurance. In addition, price stability is also important in poverty control. This study aims to analyze the influence of financial inclusion and inflation on poverty reduction on the island of Sumatra in the period 2017 to 2023. Research methodology: This study uses a quantitative approach with panel data from 10 provinces on the island of Sumatra. Results: The results of the regression analysis showed that the Financial Inclusion Index (IKK) had a significant negative effect on the poverty rate. In addition, inflation also has a significant negative effect on the poverty rate
