    No full text
Purpose: To develop and validate a financial literacy storybook for Junior High School students using the 4D (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate) method. Research Methodology: This study employs a development research approach, specifically utilizing the 4D (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate) method to create and validate a financial literacy storybook for Junior High School students. Results: The high feasibility scores from both material (72 points) and media (77 points) experts validate the storybook's content accuracy, relevance, and overall design quality. These results suggest that the approach of using digital storytelling, specifically through Storyjumper, can effectively bridge the gap between abstract financial concepts and relatable, age-appropriate narratives for adolescents. Limitations: Firstly, the validation process relies primarily on expert opinions, which, although valuable, may not fully capture the perspectives of the target audience - Junior High School students. The study does not include a pilot test with actual students, which could provide insights into the storybook's real-world effectiveness and engagement levels. Additionally, the research is limited to a specific geographical and cultural context, potentially affecting the generalizability of findings to other regions or educational systems. Contribution: This research contributes a validated financial literacy storybook for Junior High School students, advancing educational tools in this crucial field and demonstrating the 4D method's effectiveness in educational material development

Purpose: Investors continuously achieve abnormal returns (ARs) by adopting advanced strategies. Therefore, this study aimed to compare the performance of the IDX Value30 and IDX Growth30 indices, which represent value and growth investment strategies in Indonesia. Method: The comparison in this study was conducted using return- and risk-adjusted variables represented by Information Ratios and Jensen’s alpha. Based on this approach, Mann-Whitney and independent sample t-tests were performed using the SPSS program. Results: Both the IDX Value30 and IDX Growth30 indices show positive abnormal returns. However, a comparison of returns, Information Ratios, and Jensen's alpha showed no significant differences between the IDX Value30 and IDX Growth30. Limitations: The secondary data of IDX Value30 and IDX Growth30 indices were limited to the period from January 30, 2014, to September 30, 2022.   Contribution: IDX Value30 and IDX Growth30 could serve as references for investors and Investment Managers in executing value- and growth-investing strategies to outperform IHSG. Furthermore, Investment Managers could use these indices as benchmarks for issuing index funds or ETFs. Novelty: This study uniquely compares the performance of value and growth investing using the IDX Value30 and IDX Growth30 indices, a comparison that has not been previously conducted

    No full text
Purpose: This study explores the role of Industry 4.0 maturity in enhancing corporate financial performance in developed economies. It examines how technological innovation impacts internal business process performance (IBPP), supply chain performance (SCP), and customer performance, which mediate financial outcomes. Methods: A survey was conducted among 110 manufacturing firms in the United States, selected from a database of 834 eligible companies. The study employed AMOS software for structural equation modelling (SEM) to test hypotheses based on survey data. The maturity of Industry 4.0 technologies in these firms was measured using a comprehensive framework. Results: The study found that Industry 4.0 maturity significantly improves IBPP and SCP, positively affecting customer performance. Notably, customer performance serves as a full mediator between SCP, IBPP, and financial performance. Firms with higher Industry 4.0 maturity show better financial results due to improved customer engagement and satisfaction. Limitations: The study's findings are based on a sample of 110 firms, which limits generalizability. Future research with larger and more diverse samples is recommended. Contributions: This research contributes to understanding how Industry 4.0 technologies influence financial success, providing valuable insights for policymakers and business leaders in manufacturing sectors. Novelty: The study uniquely examines the complementary roles of IBPP, SCP, and customer performance in mediating the relationship between Industry 4.0 maturity and financial outcomes

    No full text
Purpose: This study aimed to identify the variables affecting the Inyati community in Inyati Mine's adoption of mobile money. Research Methodology: A descriptive research design was employed using a stratified random sampling technique. Results: A target population of 300 households was contacted, and the research concluded that some rural residents find it difficult to access mobile money because of their inferior technological skills, while others believe that network coverage is limited to certain areas of the community, and rural residents are adopting mobile money more slowly than their urban counterparts. Limitations: The study was restricted to a small community; hence, the findings may not be applicable to a wider community.   Recommendations: This research recommends that network operators ensure network consistency and wide coverage if potential members of the communities are to be included in the mobile wallet. It further recommends some improvements to mobile app systems to remove application complexity; it recommends that mobile money operators partner with international remitting agencies to include excluded groups of potential customers who receive their income from abroad. It also recommends abolishing end-to-end transaction fees to reduce overall transaction costs

An assessment of banking sector performance in Indonesia

    No full text
Purpose: This study examines the effect of dividend pay-out ratio (DPR), total assets, and asset growth on banking company performance, measured by return on assets (ROA) and net profit margin (NPM). Research methodology: Using purposive sampling, we obtained 67 banking companies as samples, comprising 33 unlisted firms and 34 listed firms on the IDX. This study observed a 9-year period from 2011 to 2019; thus, the total sample comprises 603 firm-year observations. Linear regression analysis was used to analyze the data. Results: The results show that DPR and total assets, namely ROA and NPM, have a significant effect on the performance of banking companies. Asset growth had a significant effect on NPM. However, asset growth has no significant effect on ROA. Limitations: We acknowledge that we solely used a banking corporation in Indonesia. Nevertheless, to demonstrate the bigger picture of the study findings in terms of banking performance, further studies should employ banking corporations in all emerging countries. Contribution: The results enrich the theoretical knowledge about these factors in financial performance, particularly in the Indonesian banking industry. Practical Implications: Corporation management might consider this finding when making decisions regarding dividend ratios, asset size, and asset growth. Further, management needs to pay attention to these factors when planning business strategies and making decisions to achieve higher financial performance. Novelty: To the best of our knowledge, this is the first study to examine the relationship between DPR, total assets, and asset growth to performance that employs samples of the banking industry from listed and unlisted companies on the IDX
