    Effects of community radio on political education in Ibadan Metropolis, Oyo State, Nigeria

    Purpose: This study examines the effects of community radio programs on political education in Ibadan Metropolis, Oyo State, Nigeria. Research methodology: This study adopted a survey research strategy, using a mixed method of quantitative and qualitative data. This was a cross-sectional study in which data were collected at one point in time to examine the effects of community radio programs on political education in Ibadan Metropolis, Oyo State, Nigeria. The study population consisted of students, staff, visitors, and residents of the university and its environment. However, Cochran’s (1977) sampling technique was used to determine a sample size of 384 for questionnaire administration. Data were analyzed through descriptive methods using frequency distributions and percentages, as well as inferential statistics through multiple regression analysis. Result: The results show that the regression coefficient for political news is -0.070 and is statistically significant, political advertising is 0.299 and is statistically significant, and political discussion is 0.199 and is statistically significant. From the analysis, only political news does not have a positive relationship but is significant for political education in Ibadan Metropolis, Oyo State, Nigeria. Contribution: This study has been able to establish the level of relationship between community radio programs and political education in Ibadan Metropolis, Oyo State, and Nigeria. Limitation: The study only covers the Ibadan metropolis due to a lack of funds. Extension to a state, region, or all of Nigeria would have provided a more robust argument

    Purpose: To identify and study the causes and efforts to resolve border disputes in the territory of Naktuka Amfoang East, Indonesia and the Oecusian Territory of Timor-Leste. Research methodology: This research is empirical legal research, namely research conducted by examining secondary data initially and then continuing with research on primary data in the field or on the community. Results: (1) the role of the Border Management Agency is very important in maintaining security and order in the border area, as well as facilitating cross-border trade and activities. (2) The Border Management Agency also has a role in maintaining state sovereignty, preventing the entry of illegal goods, and monitoring the movements of people entering and leaving the border area. Limitations: The researchers experienced difficulties in obtaining data from the NTT Regional Border Management Agency, because the staff claimed not to have any data, therefore the analysis of the role of BPP was based solely on normative provisions. Contribution: (1) This research is expected to provide a contribution or contribution of thought to the Border Management Agency of NTT Province, the Ministry of Home Affairs of the Government of the NTT Provincial Region in determining the border point of land in Naktuka. (2) The results of this research are expected to be used as a reference for academics who want to do research related to the same thing

    Salafiah pesantren ideology and KPU Muara Enim's efforts to increase voter participation

    Purpose: This research aimed at finding out the ideology of Pondok Pesantren (Ponpes) Dhiya'us Salaf and the people of Karang Agung Village, Lubai Ulu Sub-district, Muara Enim Regency, South Sumatra Province which refused to participate in the General Election (Pemilu) and describe the efforts made by the General Electoral Commission (KPU) of Muara Enim Regency in overcoming this phenomenon. Research methodology: This research was conducted using a qualitative method in the form of a case study approach. Data collection techniques included observations, interviews, and Forum Group Discussion techniques. Results: The results showed that the administrators and the community around Pondok Pesantren Dhiya'us Salaf did not participate in the election for the following reasons: (1) avoiding division, (2) the absence of sanctions, (3) election of Western ideology, and (4) to focus more on their fields. On the other hand, the general electoral commission (KPU) of Muara Enim and South Sumatra made efforts to increase voter participation by (1) providing election socialization and voice education, (2) registering them into the Permanent Voter List (DPT), and (3) breaking up polling stations (TPS). Limitations: Researchers limited aspects of the problem only focused on the efforts of Muara Enim’s KPU and the ideology of Pondok Pesantren Dhiya'us Salaf to create efficient and detailed research. Contribution: In addition to being a solution for breaking the abstainers (Golput) chain, the benefits of this research for the General Electoral Commission (KPU) of Muara Enim and the ranks of the Election Supervisor are a reference material for formulating the right pattern of socialization and political education

    Digital marketing and brand experience on SMEs performances in Jos South LGA of Plateau State

    Purpose: The performance of SMEs in Plateau States has been a major concern. This study aims to analyze the roles of incentives and brand experience on SMEs performance in Jos South LGA, Plateau State, Nigeria. Research methodology: A quantitative approach was adopted and a questionnaire-based survey was used among owners of SMEs in Plateau State, Nigeria. A total of 367 responses were received and multiple regression analyses were conducted using Smart-PLS v. 4.1.0.2. Results: revealed that (a) incentives significantly influence SME performance, (b) incentives significantly influence brand experience, (c) brand experience significantly influence SME performance (d) brand experience significantly mediate in the relationship between incentives and SMEs performance. Limitations: This research was conducted on SMEs performance in Jos South LGA of Plateau State; future studies should expand the research to other zones in the State. A cross-sectional study was employed, and future research should consider using longitudinal and qualitative data collection methods. Contribution: This study recommends that owners of SMEs incorporate digital marketing practices to stimulate brand experience in customers, which will in turn lead to improved performance

    Purpose: This study aims to determine the effect of transfer pricing, thin capitalization, deferred tax, and inventory intensity on tax avoidance. Method: This study uses a quantitative approach with a sample consisting of all companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) from 2018 to 2022. A purposive sampling technique was used for sample selection, and a sample of 107 companies was obtained. This study uses panel data analysis. Result: The results of the analysis show that thin capitalization and deferred taxes have a negative effect on tax avoidance, while transfer pricing and inventory intensity have no effect on tax avoidance

    Development of an integrative learning model for character education based on islamic values of the koran and hadith in boarding school

    Purpose: This study aims to develop an integrative learning model to improve student character based on Islamic values sourced from the Qur'an and Hadith. This Research and Development research (research and development) using 4D development techniques (Define, Design, Development, and Disseminate). Method: The study was conducted at Insan Scholar Madani Serpong High School. Data were obtained through interviews, questionnaires, documentation, and observations. The interview, documentation, and observation instruments were analyzed using descriptive qualitative analysis, whereas the questionnaire instruments were analyzed using independent T test statistical analysis. Results: The results revealed that 1) the factual conditions of the learning process at Insan Scholar Madani High School before using the integrative learning model of character education based on Islamic values still used conventional learning, and there had been efforts to carry out contextual learning, but it was not effective. After using the integrative learning model, the learning process shows that this model has high benefits for students, a high level of ease of application, attracts students to participate in learning, and motivates students in the learning process. 2) Preparation of the initial design for integrative learning includes several phases: open, causal, hypothetical, and closed. The initial draft development steps included the development of syntax, social systems, response principles, support tools, instructional impacts, and derivative impacts. 3) Model development was validated through three validators: learning model expert validators, character development expert validators, and learning practitioner validators. 4) There was a significant difference in effectiveness between the use of integrative learning methods in the experimental class and conventional models in the control class in improving the character of students' Islamic values at the Insan Scholar Madani High School. Practicality is obtained from the results of evaluations carried out by teachers; this model has very good syntax, can be implemented well, and has very good assessment tools

    Purpose: This study aims to determine the effect of job satisfaction and management information systems on employee performance in public transit (PT). Pawnshops in Palopo City. Method: This type of research uses quantitative research by distributing questionnaires directly to 38 respondents. The total sampling technique was used. The primary data source in this research was obtained directly from questionnaire respondents. The method uses the SPSS version 23 program. Results: The research results based on the t analysis results show that job satisfaction and management information systems have a positive and significant effect on employee performance at PT. Pawnshops in Palopo City. Judging from the determination, the R square is 0.539, which means that 53.9% can be explained by other variables included in this research

    Factors influencing news purchasing in Tempo

    Purpose: This study explores the factors that influence purchasing decisions regarding tempo-paid news, namely, individual factors, psychology, and product knowledge. The payment decision variables measured in this research are purchase intention, willingness to pay, and choice of profit model for tempo-paid news. Method: This research used a survey method with a purposive sample of 200 non-paid tempo users. The questionnaire consisted of closed choice questions. Data were analyzed by cross-tabulation analysis and chi-square test using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). Results: The findings indicate that individual, psychological, and product knowledge have a significant relationship with purchase intention. Only psychological and product knowledge factors had a significant relationship with willingness to pay. Meanwhile, individual, psychological, and product knowledge factors have a significant relationship with the choice of profit model. This study only reviews the factors that influence purchasing decisions among Tempo non-paid news readers from March to April 2024. Limitations: This research was limited to Tempo's paid products, not to other paid news products. Therefore, further research is needed to determine the factors that can influence purchasing decisions on paid news. Nevertheless, the findings provide an initial picture of the factors that influence the purchase of paid news in the Indonesian market, where the model is still young. Contributions: The findings of this research can provide input for future researchers in the marketing discipline or the mass media industry in Indonesia regarding the development of paid news-based business models

    Purpose: The community's efforts to support and develop the family economy. This community was previously unaware that this type of rengkam seaweed could be utilized and would increase family income, which encouraged the author to conduct this research. Research Methodology: This study used a quantitative method. Quantitative research involves collecting questionnaire data, and the data results are in the form of statistical data, which are then used in hypothesis testing. Quantitative research will establish a cause-and-effect relationship between independent and dependent variables, and researchers intend to understand social situations in depth. Results: From the overall analysis, it can be concluded that all indicators of Motivation, Education, Skills and Economic Growth are valid and significant. And if you look at the structural model above, it shows that the Regression Weights have all the variables having a significant influence. The Goodness of Fit results show four good criteria: one that is not good and three that are marginal; thus, the model above can be declared as a good model, and to obtain even better results, it can be modified as necessary

    Purpose: This study addresses the marginalization of persons with disabilities in rural Indonesian villages, specifically examining the implementation of Law No. 8 of 2016 concerning Persons with Disabilities. This research seeks to enhance the status of persons with disabilities, ensuring equal rights and opportunities for their active participation in village development. Research methodology: This study employs a normative juridical methodology, analyzing data from legal documents and literature, complemented by an empirical approach through interviews with key stakeholders. This mixed-methods approach helps clarify the legal rights of persons with disabilities and gather insights into the perspectives of village governments on inclusion. Results: This study highlights the need for a community-centered development model that integrates the interests of persons with disabilities. This underscores the importance of adhering to human rights principles in ensuring the well-being of persons with disabilities in Lheu Eu Village, Darul Imarah District, and Aceh Besar. The study also emphasizes the necessity of collaborative efforts among village governments, businesses, academics, and disability advocates to implement legal mandates and regulatory frameworks for disability inclusion effectively. Limitations: The findings of this study are primarily based on qualitative data, which may not capture the full extent of the issues faced by people with disabilities in different rural contexts. Additionally, the research was limited to a specific geographic area, which may limit the generalizability of the results to other regions. Contribution: This study contributes to the body of knowledge on rural development and disability rights in Indonesia by providing a comprehensive analysis of the legal and social frameworks necessary for the inclusion of people with disabilities in village development. It offers practical recommendations to policymakers, village authorities, and other stakeholders to enhance the implementation of inclusive policies and practices
