The primary issue in the realm of history education in secondary schools pertains to the dearth of student engagement, largely attributable to the conventional pedagogical methods that are characterized by monotony and a paucity of contextual relevance. The present study examines the effectiveness of outdoor learning-based history learning strategies through on-site and experience vibes approaches at cultural sites in Singosari District, Malang Regency. The objective of the present study was to evaluate the impact of outdoor learning on historical understanding, learning interest, and awareness of cultural and environmental values. The present study employed a mixed methods intervention design approach, which integrates quantitative and qualitative methods in a cohesive manner. The population under study comprised all grade X students of SMAN 1 Purwosari, with a total population of approximately 400 students, of which a sample of 183 students was selected through purposive sampling. Quantitative data were collected through the administration of pre- and post-activity questionnaires, while qualitative data were obtained through open interviews, activity documentation, and analysis of student impressions and messages. Quantitative data were analyzed using the percentage change in the results of the pre-post questionnaire, while qualitative data were analyzed thematically to reveal the meaning of students' experiences during the activity. The findings indicated a substantial enhancement in historical comprehension, a marked increase in enthusiasm for learning, and a notable development in empathy for cultural heritage and the environment. A substantial majority of students reported that the activities were both enjoyable and beneficial, with an overwhelming 99.1% expressing a profound experience. The findings of this study demonstrate the efficacy of the direct experience-based history learning model in fostering reflective, participatory, and contextual learning. Furthermore, the model's relevance to the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum at various levels of education is substantiated. Keywords: Outdoor Learning, Learning Strategy, on-site observation, experience vibes dan Situs-Situs Singosar

    Get PDF
This study investigates the relationships between emotional and adversity quotient and their impact on adaptive performance, with self-leadership examined as a mediating variable. Although there is a growing body of research on emotional intelligence, adversity quotient, and adaptive performance, limited studies have specifically explored the interrelationship of these three variables within the context of elementary school teachers, particularly in rural or semi-rural regions such as Kepahiang Regency in Indonesia. This research employed a quantitative method conducted in Kepahiang Regency, involving a total sample of 230 elementary school teachers who participated voluntarily. Data collection was conducted online, using a structured questionnaire distributed via Google Forms. The analysis followed the data analysis stages outlined by Neuman, utilizing SPSS to describe respondent characteristics, and Partial Least Squares - Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to assess indicators and test hypotheses. The results indicate that both emotional quotient and adversity quotient have a positive and significant effect on teachers' adaptive performance. Furthermore, self-leadership was found to significantly mediate the relationship between emotional and adversity quotient and adaptive performance. These findings provide important insights and contribute to the development of capacity-building programs, improvements in working conditions, and policies or initiatives that aim to enhance teaching quality and teachers’ well-being—particularly by strengthening teachers’ adaptive capacity through improved emotional intelligence, mental resilience, and self-leadership skills. This study also implies that the success of teacher adaptation is not solely determined by professional competence, but also by psychological factors such as emotional intelligence and the ability to lead oneself. Keywords: Emotional Quotient; Adversity Quotient; Self-Leadership; Adaptive Performance

    Get PDF
The Merdeka Curriculum represents a educational policy reform currently being implemented across Indonesia. Its successful execution hinges significantly on teachers’ capacity to adapt, who play a pivotal role in character development. This study aims to examine the level of self-efficacy among Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in implementing the Merdeka Curriculum, identify their strengths and challenges, and propose actionable solutions. A quantitative descriptive survey design was employed, involving 78 PAI teachers enrolled in the Professional Teacher Education Program (PPG) at UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon who completed a self-assessment questionnaire measuring multiple dimensions of self-efficacy based on Bandura’s theoretical framework. Results indicate a high level of self-efficacy among PAI teachers in understanding the conceptual foundations of the Merdeka Curriculum (mean > 4.0). However, self-efficacy scores were moderately lower regarding practical application skills (mean > 3.8), with most teachers reporting an overall "Good" level of confidence. The study affirms the relevance of Bandura’s self-efficacy theory in educational reform contexts, highlighting mastery experiences as a key contributor to teacher confidence. It concludes that fostering teacher self-efficacy should be embedded within curriculum reform strategies, emphasizing professional development programs that move beyond knowledge transmission to include authentic and experiential learning opportunities

An Ecological Cosmological Study of the Actions of Pandawara Group and Kalangsari Pride: A Structure of Spiritual Solidarity Between Humans and Nature

    Get PDF
In recent decades, humanity has absorbed vast amounts of information concerning ecological and cosmological contexts of the human–nature relationship, alongside a growing awareness that human actions have contributed significantly to the disruption of planetary balance and sustainability. At the same time, humans live in deep interconnection with their environment, shaping unique identities and meanings in life. This study aims to develop a holistic understanding of the spiritual relationship between humans and nature. It also serves as a philosophical contemplation on the solidarity between humanity and the universe. Methodologically, this research employs a structured combination of quantitative and qualitative approaches, utilizing interpretive and inductive data analysis techniques, along with holistic and heuristic philosophical frameworks. To strengthen empirical grounding, field studies were conducted on the environmental actions of the Pandawara Group, representing grassroots ecological resistance, and the ecological rituals and expressions of Kalangsari Pride, which embody local cosmological awareness. Findings reveal that both communities have cultivated a tangible ecological-cosmological consciousness in their activities: Kalangsari Pride roots its environmental preservation efforts in local spirituality, while the Pandawara Group develops digital-based ecological activism focusing on youth education and interregional influence. Their actions demonstrate that social solidarity with nature can emerge through spiritual narratives and community collaboration. Furthermore, local perspectives—particularly those of community leaders—reflect an acknowledgment of the eco-spiritual values promoted by these groups. This study affirms the need for a holistic approach that integrates spiritual, educational, and collective dimensions to achieve sustainable environmental conservation

ABSTRAKA correct and comprehensive understanding of the approach and theoretical basis of a curriculum will have implications for the implementation of learning carried out by teachers in the classroom. Based on this, the author conducted a study aimed at examining the approach and theoretical basis of Arabic language learning in the 2019 KMA 183 Arabic Language curriculum. This study uses a qualitative approach with a content analysis method. Data collection was carried out through documentation studies and also interviews and observations. The results of the study indicate that the Arabic language learning approach contained in the formulation of KI and KD leads to a genre-based language learning approach (text-based learning) which is a development of the communicative approach and comes from functional linguistics theory. However, the formulation of Core Competencies and Basic Competencies in the revised curriculum is not fully in accordance with the text-based language learning approach. For policy makers of the new KMA 183 curriculum, it is necessary to create an academic manuscript related to the new curriculum. Keywords: curriculum, Arabic, text-based approach, core competencies, basic competencies
