    Nasionalisme Islam: Pandangan Redaksi Surat Kabar Neratja, 1917-1924‎

    This research focuses on the views of the Neratja newspaper in responding to the early days of nationalism in the Netherlands East Indies during 1917-1924. Using the framing analysis theory derived from mass communication, this study tries to answer how the embodiment of the ideology of the Neratja newspaper in reporting the initial process of nationalism in the Netherlands East Indies. The result of the analysis found from this discussion is that the Neratja newspaper is affiliated with the central figures of the Islamic Movement who are able to frame the situation in the Indies by putting forward the bumiputera idea of the narrative Islam is more depressed, oppressed and persecuted.. This daily newspaper offers Islamic thought as the basis of spiritual power in a nationalistic style. Coming out of the initial publishing concept, The ideal of creating a neutral press in Neratja was not realized because of his firmness and courage to reject Kaoem Sana (Capitalist) to become a friend of Kaoem Sini (Indigenous). The conclusion of the findings shows that Neratja as one of the largest indigenous newspapers in the Netherlands East Indies has a strategic position and has a great influence in voicing the rights and obligations of the natives, resisting the threat of communism, and teaching love for the homeland based on faith.Keywords: Neratja, Indigenous Press, Early Nationalism, Islamic Ideology, Framing

    Interkoneksi Sanad Keilmuan dalam Mujahadah Nihadlul Mustaghfirin dengan Sanad K.H Dalhar dan Pengaruh Ajarannya pada Masyarakat Muslim Indonesia

    This study aims to trace the chain of sanad mujahadah Nihadlul Mustaghfirin and interconnection with sanad K.H. Dalhar, as well as the influence of its teachings on the Indonesian Muslim community. This mujahadah is interesting to discuss because although it is not tied to any community organization, its development is very rapid in various regions. In addition, the importance of scientific sanad needs to be studied in depth not only in the realm of hadith discussion but also covers all disciplines, with its main function being to maintain the originality of a science. This research was conducted by qualitative methods with the interconnection of scientific sanad as the main focus. The source of data used in this study comes from a case study approach through interviews with the figures concerned. In analyzing the interconnection of the mujahadah scientific sanad, the author uses Amin Abdullah's theory of integration-interconnection and the theory of Abu Hamid Al-Ghazali’s scientific sanad. Based on this theory, it is concluded that the sanad mujahadah Nihadlul Mustaghfirin is included in the category of sanad diploma, and the connection of scientific sanad is given directly by the teacher (Kyai Nahrowi Dalhar) to his students (Gus Muh). The existence of mujahadah was found to influence bonding relations between communities and expand connections because it was followed by thousands of groups of people.

    Negotiating Sacred Space And Urban Legality In An Informal Settlement (Ethnographic Study In Katiasa Village, Harjamukti, Cirebon City)

    Housing is one of the basic human needs, but there are still many people who do not have a decent place to live. This phenomenon reflects the gap in the fulfillment of basic needs, including in urban areas such as Cirebon City. This research aims to understand the subcultures formed in communities living in the cemetery area, including adaptation patterns and strategies developed in facing various life struggles. The research used a qualitative method with a rapid ethnographic approach, where researchers were directly involved through observation, interviews, and documentation for approximately six months at the research location, namely Kampung Katiasa, Harjamukti Village, Cirebon City. The results showed that the people in the Kampung Katiyasa area are the fifth generation to live in the Kemlaten Public Cemetery (TPU) area. The experience of living side by side with death gave birth to a new meaning to the concept of home and death itself. The community faces various struggles, such as inner struggles, land ownership conflicts, and difficulties in accessing the economy. To overcome this, they developed survival strategies, including not building new buildings, saving money to face the possibility of eviction, and avoiding activities in the cemetery area at certain times. These findings show that the people of Kampung Katiasa tend to use adaptive strategies in responding to social and economic conditions

    CONTEXTUAL HERMENEUTICS OF GENDER-RELATED HADITHS: A COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS ACROSS VARIOUS ISLAMIC REGIONS

    This research is grounded in the fact that textualist interpretations of gender-related hadiths often serve to legitimize gender inequality within Muslim societies, primarily due to the absence of contextual and ethical interpretive approaches. The study aims to analyze how a contextual hermeneutic framework can deconstruct patriarchal constructions embedded in the interpretation of hadiths concerning women. Employing a descriptive-analytical approach, this research gathers data through purposive sampling of thematically gender-related hadiths, which are subsequently examined using qualitative data analysis techniques based on Norman Fairclough’s model of Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA). The findings indicate that interpretations of hadiths are strongly shaped by socio-political contexts: the Middle East generally adopts a literalist stance, South Asia exhibits ambivalence, while Southeast Asia reflects a more progressive and contextual approach. These findings imply the necessity of adopting a fiqh al-hadith methodology grounded in maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah and interpretive ethics, in order to cultivate more just and inclusive understandings of gendered hadiths

    KIND SPEECH IN THE PROPHETIC SUNNAH AND ITS RELEVANCE TO COMMUNICATION ETHICS ON SOCIAL MEDIA: A HADITH ANALYSIS FROM THE NARRATIONS OF AL-BUKHARI AND MUSLIM

    Communication is essential in social interaction. Therefore, even a brief lack of communication can lead to discomfort. This is inseparable from the fact that humans are social creatures. However, the most important aspect is the application of ethics in communication. Something that could be conveyed well may become something negative if it is not communicated with proper ethics. This study analyses the ethics of communicating on social media by reviewing the concept of ‘kind speech’ from the perspective of Hadith narrated by Imam Bukhari, No. 6024 and Imam Muslim, No. 47. This study aims to examine how the principles contained in the Hadith regarding ‘kind speech’ can be applied in online interactions. This research is based on a qualitative method using relevant Hadith texts with a focus on their interpretation and application in the context of digital communication. The results show that the meaning of ‘kind speech’ in the hadith narrated by Al-Bukhari and Muslim has significant relevance to communication ethics on social media. Social media users should always try to use kind speech and avoid bad words on social media. Thus, social media users can maintain harmony in their communication on social media

    ASSISTANCE IN STRENGTHENING THE VALUES OF RELIGIOUS MODERATION THROUGH UNDERSTANDING THE QUR'AN FOR TPQ TEACHERS IN CIREBON CITY. This service is an assistance to TPQ teachers in the city of Cirebon related to understanding the Qur'an about the values of religious moderation. Moderation values need to be instilled, especially in the field of education. Indicators and keywords of religious moderation, especially in relation to understanding the Qur'an, have not been fully understood by TPQ teachers in the city of Cirebon. Based on PPMI research, 57% of Islamic religious education teachers have an immoderate understanding. Therefore, we try to provide assistance that aims, among others; providing assistance related to the understanding of TPQ teachers in the city of Cirebon about strengthening the values of religious moderation through understanding the Qur'an, providing assistance in developing strategies used in instilling religious moderation values to TPQ teachers in the city of Cirebon, and evaluating the results achieved by TPQ teachers after receiving assistance in strengthening the values of religious moderation through understanding the Qur'an. The method used in this service is the Asset Based Community Development method. This community service activity is carried out to support the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. The results of this assistance are; appreciative interviews about religious moderation, mapping the potential or assets of the assisted community, establishing cooperation with related institutions (asset mobility link), carrying out seminar activities, and evaluating activities

    Need Analysis of Web Based Vocabulary Teaching for Junior High School Students

    This study aims to conduct a need analysis on the implementation of web-based vocabulary teaching for junior high school students. The research investigates two main questions: (1) What are the characteristics of web-based vocabulary teaching for junior high school? (2) What are the needs of web-based vocabulary teaching for junior high school? Data was collected through a combination of literature review and interviews with two teachers and two students from SMPN 12 Kota Cirebon. Thematic analysis was used to analyze the data, identifying key themes related to the characteristics and needs of web-based vocabulary instruction. The findings highlight that effective web-based vocabulary teaching involves multimedia resources, interactive platforms, and personalized learning experiences. Additionally, the study identifies the need for adequate technology access, teacher training, and user-friendly platforms to successfully implement web-based vocabulary teaching. This research provides valuable insights for educators and policymakers in enhancing vocabulary instruction through digital tools, ensuring that web-based learning meets the needs of both students and teachers in junior high school settings

    Penelitian ini membahas transformasi pedagogik sebagai strategi untuk menghilangkan stereotip gender dalam lembaga pendidikan. Stereotip gender, yang sering kali memperkuat ketidakadilan struktural, menjadi penghambat dalam menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang inklusif. Melalui metode deskriptif kualitatif, penelitian ini menganalisis bagaimana pendekatan pedagogik berbasis kesetaraan gender dapat diterapkan dalam proses pembelajaran. Transformasi ini melibatkan penguatan kompetensi guru, pengembangan kurikulum yang responsif gender, serta kebijakan pendidikan inklusif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendidikan berbasis kesetaraan gender tidak hanya mendukung pencapaian SDG 4 dan 5, tetapi juga mendorong perubahan budaya pendidikan yang menghormati keberagaman dan keadilan. Dengan penerapan strategi yang komprehensif, lembaga pendidikan dapat menjadi agen perubahan sosial dalam membangun masyarakat yang bebas dari bias gender.Kata kunci : Transformasi Pedagogik, Stereotip Gender, Pendidikan Inklusif, Kesetaraan Gender, SDG

    Implementation of Disaster Education and The Level of Preparedness In Senior High Schools

    This study aims to analyze the implementation of disaster education at SMA Muhammadiyah Zam-zam Banyumas region and determine the level of preparedness of SMA Muhammadiyah Zam-zam Banyumas region in facing disasters. The subjects of this research are students, teachers, and principals. This research uses descriptive qualitative methods with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation studies. The data obtained was then triangulated to improve the validity of the information. The results showed that disaster material had been integrated into the curriculum, especially geography and physics subjects, and extracurricular activities. However, teachers have not been able to integrate disaster material into history subjects. Furthermore, schools already have supporting facilities such as school health units, evacuation signs, and light fire extinguishers, and carry out incidental disaster simulations. This research also shows that the school still uses a manual system and has not developed a comprehensive emergency response plan document. This study recommends the need to develop emergency response plans, improve disaster warning systems, optimize the integration of disaster material in all subjects, verify supporting facilities, and routine training and simulations.Keywords: Integrated Curriculum, Disaster Material, Senior High School

    A Legal Perspective on the Opportunities and Challenges of the Sharia Notary Profession in Indonesia

    The demand for Sharia-based legal services in Indonesia is steadily increasing, highlighting the urgency of establishing the position of Sharia Notary as a bridge between Islamic law and positive law. This study employs a normative juridical approach with qualitative methods. Data were collected through literature review, regulatory analysis, and in-depth interviews with notaries, academics, and practitioners of Sharia law. The main findings indicate that despite significant opportunities for developing the Sharia Notary—particularly in supporting the national Sharia economic system—substantial challenges continue to hinder its implementation. These challenges include the absence of specific regulations, limited educational infrastructure and professional certification, and the lack of harmonious integration between Sharia law and the national legal system. This study presents a novelty in the form of a conceptual framework proposal for the legalization and institutionalization of the Sharia Notary position in Indonesia, through three strategic recommendations: establishing specific regulations, integrating Sharia legal curriculum into notarial education, and strengthening the supervisory role of Sharia oversight bodies. The Sharia Notary plays a strategic role in ensuring legal certainty in Sharia transactions and strengthening trust in a fair, inclusive legal system.Keywords: Sharia Notary; Islamic law; positive law; regulation; Sharia economy
