Development of Math Fun: An Android-Based learning Media Assisted by iSpring for Elementary Mathematics
AbstractThe limited availability of mathematics learning media and the growing tendency of students to prefer smartphones over textbooks, presents challenges to the elementary learning process. Furthermore, advances in digital technology also offer opportunities to develop more engaging and interactive instructional media. Therefore, this research sought to design and evaluate a learning application, Math Fun, focused on the topic of two-dimensional (2-D) shapes for fourth-grade elementary students, as well as to assess its feasibility and user responses. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach following the ADDIE instructional design model. Data were collected through observation, interviews, validation questionnaires, user response questionnaires, and a post-learning test. Validation results demonstrated a high level of feasibility, with scores of 89.58% from the material expert, 91.67% from the media expert, and 90% from the IT expert, each categorized as feasible. A limited trial involving 22 fourth-grade students from an elementary school in Garut Regency, West Java yielded a student response rate of 91.43% (excellent) and an average post-test score of 77.14, indicating that the learning objectives were successfully achieved. The findings confirm that Math Fun is a feasible and effective Android-based interactive learning medium for teaching 2-D shapes to fourth-grade elementary students.Keywords: android, mathematics learning media, math fun. AbstrakKeterbatasan ketersediaan media pembelajaran matematika dan meningkatnya kecenderungan siswa yang lebih memilih smartphone daripada buku teks, menghadirkan tantangan bagi proses pembelajaran di sekolah dasar. Di samping itu, kemajuan teknologi digital juga menawarkan peluang untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran yang lebih menarik dan interaktif. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini berupaya merancang dan mengevaluasi aplikasi pembelajaran, Math Fun, yang berfokus pada topik bentuk dua dimensi (2-D) untuk siswa sekolah dasar kelas empat, serta menilai kelayakannya dan respons pengguna. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan Penelitian dan Pengembangan (R&D) mengikuti model desain instruksional ADDIE. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, kuesioner validasi, kuesioner respons pengguna, dan tes pasca-pembelajaran. Hasil validasi menunjukkan tingkat kelayakan yang tinggi, dengan skor 89,58% dari ahli materi, 91,67% dari ahli media, dan 90% dari ahli TI, yang masing-masing dikategorikan layak. Uji coba terbatas yang melibatkan 22 siswa kelas empat SD di Kabupaten Garut, Jawa Barat menghasilkan tingkat respons siswa sebesar 91,43% (sangat baik) dan skor rata-rata postes sebesar 77,14, yang menunjukkan bahwa tujuan pembelajaran telah tercapai. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa Math Fun merupakan media pembelajaran interaktif berbasis Android yang layak dan efektif untuk mengajarkan bangun ruang dua dimensi kepada siswa SD kelas empat.Kata kunci: android, media pembelajaran matematika, math fun.
The Role of Instructional Leadership in Enhancing Teacher Performance in Primary Schools
AbstractThe pursuit of quality education, as highlighted in Sustainable Development Goal 4, underscores the importance of instructional leadership in enhancing teacher performance in primary schools. Despite the literature's affirmation of its significance, context-specific practices in socioeconomically diverse settings have received limited attention. This research explores how instructional leadership influences teacher effectiveness and student outcomes in primary education. A quantitative approach was adopted, using secondary data from peer-reviewed journals, government reports, and educational databases. Correlational analysis supported by descriptive statistics revealed that key practices—vision setting, instructional support, professional development, collaborative culture, data-driven decision-making, and fostering a positive school climate—significantly improve teacher performance. These practices enhance classroom management, teaching methodologies, and student achievement. Findings suggest that instructional leadership tailored to local contexts is essential for teacher growth and equitable learning outcomes. By identifying actionable strategies and aligning them with measurable performance indicators, the research contributes to a deeper appreciation for leadership in resource-constrained environments. Meskipun literatur menegaskan signifikansinya, praktik-praktik spesifik konteks dalam lingkungan sosial ekonomi yang beragam masih kurang mendapat perhatian. Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi bagaimana kepemimpinan instruksional memengaruhi efektivitas guru dan hasil belajar siswa di pendidikan dasar. Pendekatan kuantitatif diadopsi, menggunakan data sekunder dari jurnal peer-review, laporan pemerintah, dan basis data pendidikan. Analisis korelasional yang didukung oleh statistik deskriptif mengungkapkan bahwa praktik-praktik utama—penetapan visi, dukungan instruksional, pengembangan profesional, budaya kolaboratif, pengambilan keputusan berbasis data, dan pembinaan iklim sekolah yang positif—secara signifikan meningkatkan kinerja guru. Praktik-praktik ini meningkatkan manajemen kelas, metodologi pengajaran, dan prestasi siswa. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa kepemimpinan instruksional yang disesuaikan dengan konteks lokal sangat penting bagi pertumbuhan guru dan hasil belajar yang merata. Dengan mengidentifikasi strategi yang dapat ditindaklanjuti dan menyelaraskannya dengan indikator kinerja yang terukur, penelitian ini berkontribusi pada apresiasi yang lebih mendalam terhadap kepemimpinan di lingkungan dengan keterbatasan sumber daya. Empowering Mathematical Problem Solving in Elementary Classrooms: Challenges and Opportunities in Society 5.0
AbstractThe Society 5.0 era demands the world of education to equip students with critical, creative, and solution-oriented thinking skills in dealing with real problems. This study aims to explore the level of elementary school students' mathematical problem-solving abilities and identify the challenges and opportunities faced by teachers in building these skills in the Society 5.0 era. This study uses a mixed method approach with a sequential explanatory model. Quantitative data were obtained through problem-solving tests given to 60 fifth-grade students from two public elementary schools in Bandung Regency who were selected using stratified random sampling. The results showed that students' problem-solving abilities were in the moderate category (average = 21.6 out of a maximum score of 32), with the highest performance at the "implementing the plan" stage and the lowest at the "re-checking" stage. Qualitative data was obtained through interviews and observations of four mathematics teachers. Thematic analysis revealed challenges in the form of limited time, reflective materials, and the use of technology. However, teachers also saw opportunities through contextual approaches and digital platforms. These results demonstrate the importance of innovative, reflective, and technology-integrated mathematics learning designs to equip students with 21st-century skills.Keywords: problem solving, elementary classrooms, society 5.0.AbstrakEra Society 5.0 menuntut dunia pendidikan untuk membekali peserta didik dengan keterampilan berpikir kritis, kreatif, dan berorientasi solusi dalam menghadapi permasalahan nyata. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi tingkat kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa sekolah dasar dan mengidentifikasi tantangan serta peluang yang dihadapi guru dalam membangun keterampilan tersebut di era Society 5.0. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan metode campuran dengan model eksplanatori sekuensial. Data kuantitatif diperoleh melalui tes pemecahan masalah yang diberikan kepada 60 siswa kelas V dari dua sekolah dasar negeri di Kabupaten Bandung yang dipilih menggunakan stratified random sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa berada pada kategori sedang (rata-rata = 21,6 dari skor maksimum 32), dengan kinerja tertinggi pada tahap "melaksanakan rencana" dan terendah pada tahap "memeriksa ulang". Data kualitatif diperoleh melalui wawancara dan observasi terhadap empat guru matematika. Analisis tematik mengungkap tantangan berupa keterbatasan waktu, materi reflektif, dan penggunaan teknologi. Namun, guru juga melihat peluang melalui pendekatan kontekstual dan platform digital. Hasil-hasil ini menunjukkan pentingnya desain pembelajaran matematika yang inovatif, reflektif, dan terintegrasi dengan teknologi untuk membekali siswa dengan keterampilan abad ke-21.Kata kunci: pemecahan masalah, sekolah dasar, society 5.0
Integrating Palolai Local Wisdom Through Culturally Responsive Teaching in Baubau Elementary Schools
AbstractThis study examines the integration of Palolai local wisdom through the Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) approach at elementary schools in Baubau City, Southeast Sulawesi. Using a qualitative ethnographic design, data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation studies, and focus group discussions. Triangulation of sources and methods guaranteed data validity, while data analysis utilized reduction, display, and conclusion techniques. The findings reveal three key outcomes: (1) teachers effectively developed strategies to integrate Palolai wisdom into the independent curriculum via CRT; (2) CRT implementation significantly enhanced student participation in IPAS subjects; and (3) the approach successfully strengthened students' cultural identity within the Baubau community. In conclusion, the CRT approach serves as an effective pedagogical bridge, connecting formal education with local cultural values. The integration of Palolai wisdom not only enriches the curriculum but also fosters both active student engagement and robust cultural identity preservation. This study emphasizes the need to use culturally grounded approaches in education to maintain local heritage while achieving contemporary learning objectives.Keywords: culturally responsive teaching, palolai local wisdom, teacher's role. AbstrakStudi ini mengkaji integrasi kearifan lokal Palolai melalui pendekatan Pengajaran Responsif Budaya (PKB) di sekolah dasar di Kota Baubau, Sulawesi Tenggara. Dengan menggunakan desain etnografi kualitatif, data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, studi dokumentasi, dan diskusi kelompok terfokus. Triangulasi sumber dan metode menjamin validitas data, sementara analisis data menggunakan teknik reduksi, penyajian, dan kesimpulan. Temuan ini mengungkapkan tiga hasil utama: (1) Guru secara efektif mengembangkan strategi untuk mengintegrasikan kearifan Palolai ke dalam kurikulum independen melalui PKB; (2) Implementasi PKB secara signifikan meningkatkan partisipasi siswa dalam mata pelajaran IPAS; dan (3) pendekatan ini berhasil memperkuat identitas budaya siswa dalam komunitas Baubau. Kesimpulannya, pendekatan PKB berfungsi sebagai jembatan pedagogis yang efektif, menghubungkan pendidikan formal dengan nilai-nilai budaya lokal. Integrasi kearifan Palolai tidak hanya memperkaya kurikulum tetapi juga mendorong keterlibatan aktif siswa dan pelestarian identitas budaya yang kuat. Exploration of Mathematical Concepts on Interpretation the Principal of Ukhuwah Islamiyah through Autoethnographic Study
AbstractMathematics is a fundamental science that extends beyond the classroom and plays a crucial role in daily life, including within religious contexts, like the principle of Ukhuwah Islamiyah in Islam. Divergent perspectives often overlook this principle, which aims to unite Muslims, thereby impacting children's understanding of diversity. This study explores how mathematical concepts can be interpreted through the lens of Ukhuwah Islamiyah to reinforce both the principle and mathematical thinking. Using a qualitative method with an autoethnographic approach, the researcher (first author) reflects on personal experiences related to Qur'anic and Hadith teachings. Data were collected through narrative writing, narrative inquiry, document analysis, and expert interviews and validated using trustworthiness and authenticity criteria. The findings highlight various mathematical concepts linked to Ukhuwah Islamiyah, such as numbers and operations, geometry (lines and angles), building nets, and the alignment of lines and angles in congregational prayer. These insights provide a basis for integrating Islamic values into elementary mathematics education, fostering meaningful learning experiences. In conclusion, these mathematical elements provide valuable opportunities for classroom instruction, promoting character development, enhancing mathematical reasoning, and reinforcing the principle of Ukhuwah Islamiyah. Perspektif yang berbeda sering mengabaikan prinsip ini, yang bertujuan untuk menyatukan umat Muslim, sehingga memengaruhi pemahaman anak-anak tentang keragaman. Studi ini mengeksplorasi bagaimana konsep matematika dapat diinterpretasikan melalui lensa Ukhuwah Islamiyah untuk memperkuat prinsip dan pemikiran matematis. Dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan autoetnografi, peneliti (penulis pertama) merefleksikan pengalaman pribadi yang berkaitan dengan ajaran Al-Qur'an dan Hadits. Data dikumpulkan melalui penulisan naratif, penyelidikan naratif, analisis dokumen, dan wawancara ahli, serta divalidasi menggunakan kriteria kepercayaan dan keaslian. Temuan menyoroti berbagai konsep matematika yang terkait dengan Ukhuwah Islamiyah, seperti angka dan operasi, geometri (garis dan sudut), membangun jaring, dan penyelarasan garis dan sudut dalam salat berjamaah. Wawasan ini memberikan dasar untuk mengintegrasikan nilai-nilai Islam ke dalam pendidikan matematika dasar, sehingga mendorong pengalaman belajar yang bermakna. ORTODOKSI PESANTREN DALAM TAFSIR AL-BAYĀN KARYA KH. SHODIQ HAMZAH SEMARANG
Tafsir al-Bayān is a Qur’anic exegesis that emerged and was written by a pesantren (Islamic boarding school) scholar, Shodiq Hamzah. It is acknowledged that this work extensively refers to Qur’anic commentaries authored by earlier scholars. At this point, it is possible that he integrates, to some extent, the teachings of classical scholars, which indirectly positions his work as a Qur’anic exegesis with an orthodox paradigm. Orthodoxy itself refers to the preservation of religious understanding inherited from previous generations through interconnected scholarly transmission. This research aims to uncover the pesantren orthodoxy paradigm in Tafsir al-Bayān, as it was written by a productive pesantren figure and has been followed by the local community. The method employed is descriptive-analytical, using a content analysis approach directed at Tafsir al-Bayān, particularly focusing on its sources of reference and theological thought. To identify orthodoxy, this study applies five concepts of doctrinal orthodoxy proposed by John B. Henderson. The findings of this research affirm that Shodiq Hamzah’s Tafsir al-Bayān demonstrates an orthodox tendency due to its commitment to the works of earlier scholars (al-kutub al-muʿtabarah) and the opinions of the salaf as primary sources of reference. His scholarly background and Sunni scholarly networks also contribute to constructing this orthodox framework of thought. Furthermore, the orthodoxy of Shodiq Hamzah’s interpretation reinforces pesantren traditions, particularly in matters of theology (kalām) affiliated with Ahl al-Sunnah wa al-Jamāʿah. Nevertheless, his interpretation has not yet elaborated on contemporary discourses, resulting in an impression of conservatism and indicating the need for a more comprehensive interpretation to address contemporary problems. Tafsir al-Bayān adalah sebuah tafsir al-Qur’an yang ditulis oleh tokoh pesantren, Shodiq Hamzah. Karya ini diketahui banyak merujuk pada tafsir al-Qur’an karya ulama terdahulu, sehingga memungkinkan adanya integrasi ajaran dari generasi sebelumnya yang menjadikannya sebagai tafsir yang berparadigma ortodoks. Ortodoksi di sini merujuk pada upaya mempertahankan pemahaman agama yang diturunkan secara berkesinambungan melalui tradisi keilmuan yang saling terkait. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menelusuri paradigma ortodoksi pesantren dalam Tafsir al-Bayān, mengingat penulisnya adalah tokoh pesantren yang produktif dan karyanya banyak diikuti masyarakat setempat. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif-analisis dengan pendekatan content analysis, berfokus pada sumber rujukan dan pemikiran teologis dalam tafsir tersebut. Untuk mengidentifikasi ortodoksi, penelitian ini menggunakan lima konsep ortodoksi menurut John B. Henderson. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Tafsir al-Bayān memiliki kecenderungan ortodoks yang ditandai dengan komitmen penulisnya pada karya ulama terdahulu (al-kutub al-mu’tabarah) dan pendapat ulama salaf sebagai sumber utama. Latar belakang keilmuan dan jaringan keulamaan Sunni turut membentuk kerangka pemikiran ortodoks tersebut. Selain itu, ortodoksi tafsir Shodiq Hamzah memperkuat tradisi pesantren, khususnya dalam ranah teologi atau kalam yang berafiliasi dengan Ahl al-Sunnah wa al-Jamā‘ah. Meski demikian, tafsir ini belum banyak menanggapi diskursus kontemporer, sehingga menimbulkan kesan konservatif dan memerlukan interpretasi lebih komprehensif untuk menjawab persoalan kekinian.
Studi Komparatif Persepsi Pendidik terhadap Mutu Layanan PAUDQu Jawa Barat
Standarisasi mutu layanan menjadi kebutuhan mendesak dalam pengelolaan PAUD berbasis Al-Qur’an (PAUDQu), terutama dalam menjawab keragaman praktik dan tuntutan kualitas layanan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis persepsi pelaksana pendidikan terhadap kebutuhan standarisasi mutu serta melihat perbedaan persepsi berdasarkan status jabatan, usia, dan lama mengajar. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif deskriptif dan komparatif dengan jumlah responden sebanyak 89 orang, yang terdiri dari kepala lembaga, guru, dan tenaga kependidikan di empat wilayah Jawa Barat. Instrumen pengumpulan data berupa kuesioner tertutup dengan skala Likert empat poin, dan analisis data dilakukan menggunakan statistik deskriptif serta uji Kruskal-Wallis. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa persepsi pelaksana pendidikan terhadap pentingnya standarisasi mutu layanan PAUDQu berada dalam kategori tinggi. Skor tertinggi terdapat pada item yang berkaitan dengan kebutuhan pedoman pembelajaran dan jaminan mutu. Uji reliabilitas menghasilkan nilai Cronbach’s Alpha sebesar 0,883, menandakan instrumen sangat reliabel. Uji Kruskal-Wallis menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan signifikan dalam persepsi berdasarkan status jabatan dan usia, sedangkan lama mengajar tidak menunjukkan perbedaan yang signifikan. Kesimpulannya, pelaksana pendidikan PAUDQu memiliki kesadaran tinggi terhadap pentingnya standarisasi mutu. Temuan ini menekankan perlunya penyusunan kebijakan mutu yang mempertimbangkan latar belakang pelaksana pendidikan agar dapat diterapkan secara efektif dan berkelanjutan
Omnichannel Marketing Strategy to Increase Sports Equipment Sales and Distribution
The purpose of this study is to analyze the effectiveness of omnichannel marketing strategies in increasing sales and distribution of sports equipment through the integration of e-commerce and physical stores. In previous studies, the focus was only on sales or marketing, while the novelty of this study is sales and distribution/logistics simultaneously. The study used a mixed method approach with a sequential explanatory design. Quantitative data were obtained through a survey of 286 respondents who were analyzed using multiple linear regression tests. Qualitative data were obtained through interviews and observations of 25 informants selected by purposive sampling. The results of quantitative data processing with multiple linear regression tests in the "ANOVA" output obtained a Sig value or p-value of 0.000 <0.05, meaning that the Increase in Sales and Effectiveness of Sports Equipment Distribution are jointly influenced by the Omnichannel Marketing Strategy or are significant. In the "Coefficients" output, the sig value. 0.225 > probability 0.05, meaning that the Increase in Sales is not influenced by the Omnichannel Marketing Strategy, while the sig value. 0.000 < probability 0.05, meaning that the Effectiveness of Sports Equipment Distribution is influenced by Omnichannel Marketing Strategy. The results of qualitative data explain overall that omnichannel marketing strategy has become a fundamental need in facing changes in consumer behavior and the dynamics of the sports industry market in the digital era. It is concluded that omnichannel marketing strategy is not only a sales strategy, but is a comprehensive approach that connects all marketing, service, and operational activities in one unit that focuses on customer convenience.Keywords: Omnichannel Marketing, Sales, Distribution, Sports Equipment
Legal Consequences of Inter-Inmate Violence in Overcrowded Correctional Institutions: A Case Study of Kuningan Class IIA Prison
his study aims to analyse the legal consequences of violence between inmates under conditions of overcrowding at the Class IIA Kuningan Penitentiary. Overcrowding, or overcrowding exceeding the ideal capacity, is a significant factor in the increased potential for conflict and violence within the prison. The research method is a juridical-empirical approach that combines normative studies of correctional regulations with empirical analysis through interviews and field observations. The results show that violence between inmates has various legal consequences for both perpetrators and victims, including disciplinary sanctions, reduced behavioural assessments, restrictions on correctional rights, and the possibility of new criminal offences under the Criminal Code. For victims, violence requires special protection, rehabilitation, and strengthening of complaint mechanisms. Furthermore, overcrowding has been shown to worsen the effectiveness of correctional facilities and hinder the function of prisons as rehabilitative institutions. This study emphasises the need for correctional policy reform, including reducing overcrowding, increasing the number and competence of officers, and implementing a technology-based monitoring system to prevent future violence
The Existence of Cancellation of Grant in Religious Courts: A Legal Analysis and Maqashid Sharia of The Decision Number 6481/Pdt.G/2021/Pa.IM
Grants are given to others with no hope of existence, reward, or whatever, and are done willingly, without counter-performance from the party that gives. The giver still lives. Grants cannot be cancelled except for the grant parent to child matter, as mentioned in the hadith of the Prophet, KUHPER, and the Compilation of Islamic Law. The purpose of this study is to analyse the juridical aspects of Islamic Law, Positive Law and Maqashid Syariah above the judge’s decision in the case number 6481/Pdt.G/2021/PA.IM regarding the case cancellation grant. The research method used by the author, which involves descriptive research , is one of the forms of research that includes qualitative research. The data used in the study are qualitative. Qualitative data, namely data presented in verbal form, is not in a numerical form. Among others, search and collect data with classification, including primary data and secondary data. In research, the author uses interviews, documentation and observation for data collection. The results of the research from the judge’s considerations in deciding case number 6481/PDT.G/2021/PA.IM regarding the case cancellation grant, the panel of judges’ opinion is that the lawsuit plaintiff must state No cannot be accepted. This is in accordance with Circular Letter Supreme Court Number 3 of 2018, letter A, number 4. In the formulation of the law of the religious chamber that the lawsuit whose object of dispute is still a debt guarantee and the judge does not use other legal considerations, in fact the judge in deciding a case should be based on the law and/or statutory regulations related to the lawsuit, such as Article 212 of the KHI which allows parents to withdraw their gifts and Article 1688 of the Civil Code
