    The Influence of Animated Video Media on Elementary School Students' Motivation and Learning Outcomes in Science Learning

    The low motivation and learning outcomes of students in learning science are one of the main challenges in efforts to improve the quality of education in elementary schools. This study aims to determine the effect of using animated video media on student motivation and learning outcomes in science subjects. The method used in this research is an experiment with a nonequivalent control group design. The population of this study was all students from one of the elementary schools in Pamulihan District, with a sample consisting of 41 students, namely 18 female students and 23 male students. Data collection techniques used questionnaires, pretest-posttest, observation, and interviews. The results showed that the R-squared value for student learning motivation in the experimental class was 0.041 or 4.1%, with a sig value of 0.393, while in the control class it was 0.313 or 31% with a sig 0.008. For learning outcomes, the R square value in the experimental class was 0.347 or 34.7%, with a sig. of 0.006, while the control class showed an R square value of 0.427 or 42.7%. Based on the results of data analysis, it was concluded that there was an influence of animated videos on students' motivation to learn science by 4.1% and on learning outcomes by 34.7%. Thus, the use of animated video media has an influence on increasing student motivation and learning outcomes, although the contribution is not greater than conventional learning in the context of this study.Keywords:Animated Videos, Learning Motivation, Learning Outcome

    Semantic Reception of Khilafiyyah Hadith and the Production of Horizontal Religious Conflict in Indonesia

    This study examines how differing semantic receptions of ḥadīth khilāfiyyah among Islamic mass organizations (ormas Islam) in Indonesia contribute to horizontal conflict and prolonged religious controversy, thereby challenging the spirit of religious moderation. The research aims to analyze how identical ḥadīth texts generate divergent meanings and truth claims that shape social exclusion and intergroup tensions. Employing a qualitative approach, this study investigates selected ḥadīth khilāfiyyah from kutub al-tis‘ah as the material object and the contested receptions of Islamic organizational figures as the formal object. Data were collected through textual documentation of ḥadīth and their commentaries, online observation of national news reporting religious conflicts, and semi-structured interviews with relevant actors. Data analysis followed the Miles and Huberman model, encompassing data reduction, display, and verification, and was further interpreted through the reception theory framework of Hans Robert Jauss and Wolfgang Iser. The findings reveal that key semantic gaps within specific ḥadīth phrases—such as bid‘ah, al-jamā‘ah, and khālifū—enable exclusive interpretations that are institutionalized as truth claims by dominant groups. These receptions function performatively, legitimizing practices of stigmatization, rejection of mosques, dissolution of religious gatherings, and marginalization of minority groups. The study concludes that horizontal religious conflict is rooted not in the ḥadīth texts themselves but in closed semantic receptions, underscoring the necessity of hermeneutical awareness and semantic literacy to strengthen religious moderation.Key words: ḥadīth khilāfiyyah; semantic reception; Islamic mass organizations; horizontal conflict. Penelitian ini mengkaji bagaimana perbedaan resepsi semantik terhadap hadis-hadis khilafiyah di kalangan organisasi massa Islam (ormas Islam) di Indonesia berkontribusi pada terjadinya konflik horizontal dan kontroversi keagamaan yang berkepanjangan, sehingga menantang semangat moderasi beragama. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis bagaimana teks hadis yang sama dapat menghasilkan makna dan klaim kebenaran yang berbeda-beda, yang kemudian membentuk praktik eksklusi sosial dan ketegangan antarkelompok. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, penelitian ini mengkaji sejumlah hadis khilafiyah yang bersumber dari kutub al-tis‘ah sebagai objek material, serta resepsi yang diperdebatkan di kalangan tokoh ormas Islam sebagai objek formal. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui dokumentasi teks hadis dan kitab syarahnya, observasi daring terhadap pemberitaan nasional terkait konflik keagamaan, serta wawancara semi-terstruktur dengan aktor-aktor terkait. Analisis data mengikuti model Miles dan Huberman yang meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan, serta ditafsirkan lebih lanjut menggunakan kerangka teori resepsi Hans Robert Jauss dan Wolfgang Iser. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa celah-celah semantik pada frasa hadis tertentu—seperti bid‘ah, al-jamā‘ah, dan khālifū—memungkinkan lahirnya tafsir eksklusif yang dilembagakan sebagai klaim kebenaran oleh kelompok dominan. Resepsi tersebut berfungsi secara performatif dalam melegitimasi praktik stigmatisasi, penolakan masjid, pembubaran kegiatan keagamaan, serta peminggiran kelompok minoritas.     Polygamy in The Qur'an: An Integration of Classical Interpretation and Modern Linguistic Analysis

    Purpose: Studies on the theme of polygamy in Surah An-Nisa’ verses 3 and 129 have mostly been conducted from legal and social perspectives, while linguistic analysis of the verse’s linguistic structure—which is crucial for its meaning—is still rare. Therefore, this study places the discussion within the framework of Arabic linguistics and Qur’anic semantics by re-examining the function of one of the theories in Nahwu, namely ism maushūl, the syntactic structure, and the pragmatic implications of the verse. Methods: This study employs a descriptive-analytical literature review method to identify the main syntactic elements, examine semantic relations, and interpret the meaning of the text in the verse, drawing on classical and modern Arabic linguistic theories. Findings: The results show that the use of ism maushūl  "mā" in the verse on polygamy does not refer to women personally, but rather to certain social conditions that form the basis for the permissibility of polygamy. When examined linguistically, the verse emphasizes the existence of a “fair” condition that is pragmatically almost impossible to fulfill, so that polygamy is understood as an exception, not a recommendation. Research Implications: These findings demonstrate the importance of a linguistic approach in understanding legal verses and correcting common misconceptions about polygamy. This research also fills a gap in the study of Qur'anic linguistics

    Kampung Arab in Tegal: A Study about Hadrami Society

    Purpose –This study examines the Hadrami community in Tegal within the broader academic discourse of diaspora studies, identity formation, and Arab–Indonesian sociocultural interaction. While Hadrami migration to Indonesia has been widely documented in major cities such as Jakarta, Surabaya, and Pekalongan, very little attention has been given to medium-sized cities like Tegal. This gap is academically relevant because smaller communities reveal how diaspora identity is negotiated in everyday, semi-urban environments rather than in dominant economic hubs. Design/methods/approach –This study examines the Hadrami community in Tegal within the broader academic discourse of diaspora studies, identity formation, and Arab–Indonesian sociocultural interaction. While Hadrami migration to Indonesia has been widely documented in major cities such as Jakarta, Surabaya, and Pekalongan, very little attention has been given to medium-sized cities like Tegal. Findings –The findings show a dynamic relationship between cultural preservation and integration: religious institutions sustain communal identity, while economic activities strengthen their local presence. Research implications – Theoretically, the study contributes to diaspora and ethnic-identity scholarship by illustrating that Hadrami identity is contextually shaped by localized social structures. Practically, the findings highlight the importance of documenting minority community heritage in regional Indonesia

    Peran Rumah Daulat Buku (Rudalku) dan Akademisi dalam Mendukung Deradikalisasi Berbasis Komunitas di Indonesia

    THE ROLE OF RUMAH DAULAT BUKU (RUDALKU) AND ACADEMICS IN SUPPORTING COMMUNITY BASED DERADICALIZATION IN INDONESIA. This study explores the role of Rumah Daulat Buku (Rudalku), a civil society organization, in deradicalizing former terrorist convicts through literacy and religious moderation. Using qualitative ethnographic and case study methods, data were gathered via interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis involving convicts, families, and facilitators. Findings show that literacy programs promoting critical thinking alongside moderate religious teachings effectively foster tolerance and social integration. Social support and community involvement motivate participation, while donor funding sustains activities despite resource. The study emphasizes the value of community-tailored interventions and the integration of literacy with religious moderation. Practical implications highlight the need for strong partnerships among government, civil society, local communities, and academia to ensure program sustainability. This research offers insights into soft approach deradicalization strategies and the vital role of CSOs and academics in social reintegration. Future studies should assess broader implementation models and long-term social and psychological impacts, providing a basis for more effective deradicalization policies and programs

    THE CONTENT ANALYSIS OF CULTURE IN THE EIGHTH-GRADE TEXTBOOK “ENGLISH FOR NUSANTARA”

    Learning a language involves more than mastering vocabulary and grammar, but the culture. It is important for student to understand cultural content. This is why learning media such as textbooks must properly incorporate cultural content. This research aims to investigate the dimension of cultural content and categories of cultural content are presented English textbook “English for Nusantara” for 8th grade Junior High School. To achieve goal, a descriptive qualitative design was used in this study to describe cultural dimensions and cultural categories. Five dimension of culture by Moran (2001) including products, practices, perspectives, communities and persons, and also categories of  culture by Cortazzi & Jin (1999) including source culture, target culture, and international culture were used to analyze the data. The results found that the culture dimension is dominated by 42 products while the culture category is 70 dominated by source culture. The low content of cultural targets and international culture indicates limited exposure to global culture

    Pengembangan Media Papan Flanel pada Keterampilan Berbicara bagi Siswa Sekolah Dasar

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan desain dan mengetahui efektivitas media papan flanel muatan materi kalimat fakta dan opini pada mata pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia, sebagai media pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara siswa kelas IV sekolah dasar (SD). Metode penelitian pengembangan ini menggunakan model ADDIE. Dilaksanakan di SDN Sekaran 01 Kota Semarang, uji coba produk skala kecil dilakukan pada 10 siswa kelas IVA dan uji coba pemakaian produk skala besar pada 28 siswa kelas IVB. Pengumpulan data meliputi observasi, penyebaran angket validasi dan respons, tes, wawancara serta dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media papan flanel memperoleh nilai kelayakan sebesar 96% oleh ahli media dan 92% oleh ahli materi. Hasil uji coba kelompok besar diperoleh nilai rata-rata 56,79 pada pretest dan pada posttest nilai rata-rata meningkat menjadi 88,07. Hal ini, menjadi bukti bahwa media papan flanel muatan materi kalimat fakta dan opini pada mata pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia efektif dan layak digunakan sebagai media alternatif strategis dalam pembelajaran berbasis praktik langsung, serta disarankan untuk digunakan dan dikembangkan lebih lanjut dalam pembelajaran keterampilan berbahasa di sekolah dasar.Development of Flannel Board Media on Speaking Skills for Elementary School StudentsThis study aims to develop a design and determine the effectiveness of flannel board media content of fact and opinion sentences in Indonesian language subjects, as a learning medium to improve the speaking skills of grade IV elementary school (SD) students. This development research method uses the ADDIE model. This research was conducted for 1 month at SDN Sekaran 01 Semarang, with a small-scale trial conducted on 10 students of class IVA and a large-scale product usage trial on 28 students of class IVB. Data collection included observation, questionnaires, tests, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that the flannel board media obtained a feasibility score of 96% by media experts and 92% by material experts. The results of the large group trial obtained an average value of 56.79 on the pretest, and on the posttest, the average value increased to 88.07. This is evidence that the flannel board media content of fact and opinion sentences in Indonesian language subjects is effective and feasible to use as a strategic alternative media in hands-on practice-based learning, and it is recommended to be used and developed further, especially in learning language skills in elementary schools

    Analysis The Effect of Open Unemployment, Labor Force Participation and Human Development Index on Economic Growth

    As one of the main benchmarks, economic growth does not only focus on production figures alone, but must also be seen in the context of equitable distribution of development results. The high Open Unemployment, the low Labor Force Participation, and the low Human Development Index in South Sulawesi are issues that need further research. This study aims to analyze the effect of Open Unemployment, Labor Force Participation, and Human Development Index on economic growth in South Sulawesi. This research uses quantitative methods with panel data covering 24 districts/cities in South Sulawesi during the period 2010-2023. Data were obtained from various official sources such as the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) of South Sulawesi Province, the Manpower Office, and other relevant government agencies. The data analysis technique used was multiple linear regression. The results showed that the Open Unemployment had no significant effect on economic growth. Similarly, the Labor Force Participation did not show a significant effect. However, the Human Development Index has a significant effect on economic growth. Simultaneously, these three variables have a significant effect on economic growth with an Adjusted R Square value of 0.979. The results of this study emphasize the importance of improving the quality of the workforce, reducing the unemployment, and investing in the education and health sectors to promote inclusive and sustainable economic growth.Keywords: Open Unemployment, Labor Force Participation, Human Development Index, Economic Growth

    The Transformation of Halal Certification Policy and Public Response: An Islamic Economic Law Perspective

    This article aims to analyze the government's efforts in implementing halal certification policies in Indonesia and the public's response to the changes in these regulations. The study uses a qualitative approach with an ethnographic method, involving data collection from various digital media sources such as websites, YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook. Data collection techniques include identifying primary sources, tracking, annotating, as well as gathering and presenting data. The primary theory used is Islamic economic law, focusing on the principles of justice, transparency, and public welfare within the context of halal certification regulations. The study's findings indicate that digital media plays a crucial role in accelerating the dissemination of information regarding the new halal certification regulations and facilitates two-way communication between the government and the public. Public response reveals complaints regarding the length of the certification process and the government's slow response to community grievances. This article contributes to the development of Islamic economic law research by offering a perspective on integrating sharia principles in public policy and the halal industry practices, aiming for greater justice and transparency.Keywords: public response; Islamic economic law; halal certification regulation; policy transformation

    Strategy For Supporting The Strengthening Of Religious Moderation Among Students At Dayah Markaz Al-Ishlah Al-Aziziyah Banda Aceh

    The problems in strengthening religious moderation at Dayah Markaz Al-Ishlah Al-Aziziyah are related to challenges in integrating the values of moderation, especially overcoming internal and external differences in religion and the application of the principle of non-violence among students. The purpose of the study is to be able to improve this strengthening, a suitable and appropriate mentoring pattern is needed considering that the students of the Markaz Al-Ishlah Al-Aziziyah Dayah come from orphans who are victims of the conflict in Aceh and orphans who are victims of natural disasters. This service method uses Participation Action Research (PAR). The number of mentoring samples was 32 students (10%) and 2 ustadz/ustazah and 1 dayah leader. The results of the study showed that 1). The Mentoring Pattern for Strengthening Religious Moderation at the Markaz Al-Ishlah Al-Aziziyah Dayah Students in Banda Aceh is that the dayah leader builds a pattern of strengthening religious moderation based on the values of family, brotherhood, and equality among fellow students. This pattern includes close relationships like parents and children, siblings and older siblings, and grandparents. 2). The materials for mentoring the strengthening of religious moderation in students of Dayah Markaz Al-Ishlah Al-Aziziyah Banda Aceh are First, Balance (Tawazun). Second, Tolerance (Tasamuh). Third, Justice (Adl). Fourth, Humanity (Insaniyah). Fifth, Anti-Violence (Laa Unf). Sixth, Openness (Infitah), which invites to be open to changes in the times without sacrificing the basic principles of religion, and Seventh, Deliberation (Syura)
