    Evaluasi Total Quality Management pada SMP Islam Athirah 1 Kajaolalido Kota Makassar

    This study aims to evaluate the implementation of Total Quality Management (TQM) at SMP Islam Athirah 1 Kajaolalido in Makassar city on aspects of the plan, implementation, and achievement. The study is a qualitative approach with an evaluation type. The subjects of the study were the director, the principal, and the teacher of SMP Islam Athirah 1 Kajaolalido in Makassar city. Data were collected by employing interview, observation, and documentation. Based on the evaluation being implemented, the assessors concluded that: 1) in arranging the plan, SMP Islam Athirah 1 Kajaolalido in Makassar city had implemented TQM characteristics; 2) in the implementation aspect, SMP Islam Athirah 1 Kajaolalido in Makassar city had implemented TQM characteristics as well basically; 3) in achievement aspect, SMP Islam Athirah 1 Kajaolalido in Makassar city had achieved the objectives of the implementation of TQM. It can be seen from various academic and non-academic achievements obtain by the students. Moreover, the level of satisfaction from the parents as the external customers has also improved. However, teachers as the internal customers have yet to obtained significant impact from the implementation of TQM in SMP Islam Athirah 1 Kajaolalido in Makassar city

    Strategi Pengembangan Profesi Guru dalam Mewujudkan Suasana Pembelajaran yang Efektif

    This study aims to analyze teacher professional development strategies in creating an effective learning atmosphere by focusing on three sub-problems, namely: (1) The nature of effective learning; (2) various factors that influence the learning atmosphere; and (3) various strategies in teacher professional development as an effort to create an effective learning atmosphere. This type of research is library research. Data is collected from books, journals, or other scientific works regarding the theory of teacher strategies in realizing effective learning using documentation techniques and then analyzed using content analysis techniques. The results showed that learning was said to be effective if it fulfilled the learning objectives in a pleasant atmosphere for educators and students. There are two factors that influence the learning atmosphere, namely exogenous factors and endogenous factors. Various strategies for teacher professional development in creating an effective learning atmosphere through two development strategies, namely paradigm development and teacher competency development. This research has implications for the need for teachers to always carry out their duties professionally. The indicators of professionalism include always adhering to work ethics, independent (free from external pressure), fast (productive), precise (effective), efficient, innovative based on the principles of excellent service in accordance with the elements of science or systematic theory, professional authority, public recognition, and upholding the code of ethics

    Pengaruh Model Pembelajaran Berbasis Masalah terhadap Keterampilan Pemecahan Masalah Peserta Didik dalam Pembelajaran Fisika Ditinjau dari Gender

    The study aims at analyzing the difference of problem solving skills between: (1) the students taught by using problem-based learning model and the ones taught by using guided inquiry learning model, (2) the students taught by using problerm-based learning model and the ones taught by using guided inquiry learning model with male gender, (3) the students taught by using problem-based learning model and the ones taught by using guided inquiry learning model with female gender, and (4) the interaction between problem-based and quided inquiry learning model and gender on problem solving skills of students. The study is quasi-experiment research with treatment by level 2x2 design. The research population was all students of grade X MIA at SMAN 9 Makassar. The technique used in talking the sample was simple random sampling and obtained grade X MIA5 and X MIA7 as the experiment classes and grade X MIA8 and X MIA9 as the control classes. The results of the study reveal that (1) there is a difference of problem solving skills between students taught by using problem-based learning model and the ones taught by using guided inquiry learning model, (2) for male gender students, there is a difference between the ones taught by using problem-based skills and ones taught by using quided inquiry learning model, (3) for female gender students, there is a difference between the ones taught by using problem-based skills and the ones taught by using quided inquiry learning model, and (4) there is no interaction between learning model and gender on problem solving skills of students. This study is expected to be a reference in determining the strategy and innovative learning model to improve learning quality so the students are active in learning process, thus it can improve problem solving skills of students

    The Variation of West Sulawesi Dialects Used in STAIN Majene

    Dialect is a substandard or basic standard of the dialect itself which is also often associated with language, especially the spoken language in certain region. The researchers were interested to observe how vary the dialects used. The purpose of this research was to find out dialects’ variation used during teaching and learning process of Speaking class in STAIN Majene. STAIN Majene is the newest university located in Majene regency, West Sulawesi province in which it is not the capital of the province. Yet, STAIN Majene students were coming from many different places and backgrounds. The methods used in the research were spoken data recording, place and the spoken language observation at the university. The researchers found that Mandarese is still the dominant dialect used in STAIN Majene area due to the students and non-students such as lecturers are mostly originally come from Majene and Polewali Mandar regencies

    The Contribution of Islamic School as Media of Developing Nation Culture

    This research aimed to analyze the contribution of Islamic schools as media of developing nation culture that focusing the study at three subobjectives, those are: the history and Islamic school development, the essence of Islamic school as formal educational institution, and the role of Islamic school as developing culture center. The method of the research was a literature review with a pedagogy approach. The data were collected through book documentations and relevant scientific journals then were analyzed using content analysis technique. Results of the research showed that Islamic school functions as reproducing, revising, and mediating simultaneously. Islamic school as a social institution functioned as socialization institution is to transmit and to transform cultures and to select students in order to continue their current education to higher education. Islamic school as the cultural center constitutes a batch of the values that underlying attitudes, tradition, daily activities, and symbols in which applied by the headmaster, teachers, administration staffs, students, and people around the school. Educational values at school could be embodied through intellectual uplifting, social uplifting, and vocational uplifting

    Internalisasi Nilai-nilai Pendidikan Multikultural dalam Pembelajaran Fikih pada MTs DDI Kaballangang Kabupaten Pinrang

    This study aims to (1) determine the dimensions of multicultural values in fiqh learning at MTs DDI Kaballangang, Pinrang Regency; (2) describe the process of internalizing multicultural values in fiqh learning at MTs DDI Kaballangang, Pinrang Regency; and (3) analyzing the results of internalizing multicultural values in fiqh learning at MTs DDI Kaballangang, Pinrang Regency. The type of research is qualitative with pedagogical, psychological, and philosophical approaches. The data source consisted of documents and resource persons from the leaders and Fiqh teachers of MTs DDI Kaballangang, Pinrang Regency. Data collection techniques through observation, documentation, and interviews. Data analysis techniques through data reduction, data display, and conclusions drawing. The results showed that the dimensions of multicultural values in fiqh learning in MTs DDI Kaballangang were tolerance values, equality rights, brotherhood values, justice values, and social ethical values. The process of internalizing multicultural values in fiqh learning at MTs DDI Kaballangang by promoting values of tolerance and not fanatical, being inclusive, not discriminating, teaching the background of the emergence of differences, ethics in addressing differences, and prioritizing the values of peace and unity. Internalization of multicultural values in fiqh learning at MTs DDI Kaballangang has implications for the development of three areas of student competency: 1) Attitudes, namely cultural awareness and sensitivity, and responsiveness to culture; (2) knowledge, namely knowledge about the language and culture of others, the ability to analyze and translate cultural behavior, and knowledge of cultural awareness; and (3) skills, namely skills to avoid conflict and the ability to correct distortions, stereotypes, and misconceptions about ethnic groups

    Penerapan Nilai-nilai Tasawuf dalam Pembinaan Akhlak Santri pada Pondok Pesantren Miftahul Huda Gading Malang

    This study aims to find out (1) the program of implementing Sufism values in the moral development of santri at Miftahul Huda Gading Malang Islamic Boarding School; (2) the process of implementing Sufism values in the moral development of santri at Miftahul Huda Gading Malang Islamic Boarding School; and (3) the success of Sufism values in the moral development of santri at Miftahul Huda Gading Malang Islamic Boarding School. The type of study is a case study with the qualitative method. The data collection uses the method of observation, interviews, and documentation. As for the data analysis using a case study qualitative analysis. The results show that the implementing Sufism values in the moral development of santri Miftahul Huda Islamic Boarding School have three programs: (1) Diniyah formal namely Madrasah Matholiul Huda with the Sufism curriculum that obligatory follow for every santri; (2) Nonformal learning namely cottage learning in outside the formal time which took place in the mosque, hall and in the house of the caregiver; (3) Toriqoh namely toriqoh qodiriyah wa naqsabandiyah followed only by santri who fulfilled the requirements. While the process of implementing the values of Sufism in the moral development of santri at Miftahul Huda Islamic Boarding School (a) through habituation of dhikr to fard prayer, (b) uswatun hasanah or caregiver status, (c) tasawuf through education, and (d) toriqoh. The success implementing Sufism values in the moral development of santri Miftahul Huda Islamic Boarding School is characterized by changes in santri’s behavior and attitudes or can be judged by the evaluation of Bloom, namely cognitive, affective, and psychomotor

    The study aims to analyze the role of parents in educating children with character education in accordance with Islamic education. The method used is descriptive quantitative method with relevant data collection techniques from several scientific articles, books, and news. The results of this study indicate that parental figures greatly influence character education in children. Parents have a significant role in character education in children, that parents as facilitators, motivators, and role models for children. The role of parents is prioritized in educating children’s character given that the era of globalization is so rapid that it can affect the character of the nation’s children. Parents are always expected to be figures capable of internalizing the values of national character and Islamic character in children according to the times. So that children have a foundation that is in accordance with conditions they are currently facing so that it makes children responsive to the character education given by their parents

    Analisis Pelaksanaan Supervisi Pembelajaran Kepala Madrasah Aliyah Negeri Jeneponto, Sulawesi Selatan

    This research is intended to examine the implementation of the supervision of the headmaster of Madrasah Aliyah Negeri Jeneponto, which includes: processes, techniques, as well as supporting and inhibiting factors. The type of this research is qualitative and the informants are the head of the madrasah, the deputy head of the madrasah, and two subject teachers. Data were collected using interviews, observation, and documentation. The data analysis technique was carried out by using qualitative descriptive analysis. The results showed that 1) the process of implementing the supervision of the headmaster of Madrasah Aliyah Negeri Jeneponto through three stages, namely preparation, implementation, and meeting back and follow-up. 2) There are two techniques in implementing the supervision of the headmaster, namely individual supervision and group supervision. Individual supervision technique in the form of class visits, inter-class visits, class observations, and individual meetings. Whereas in the group technique, the headmaster uses a meeting between the supervisor (headmaster) and the teachers. 3) The supporting factor for the implementation of the supervision is the readiness of the teacher to receive guidance and assistance from the headmaster; fostering good relations between fellow teachers and madrasah principals; a conducive madrasah climate; completeness of facilities and infrastructure; availability of adequate teachers and staff both in quantity and quality. The inhibiting factor is the limited time due to the many activities/duties of the head of the madrasah both inside and outside the madrasah

    Pengembangan Media Pembelajaran Bahasa Arab Berbasis Web Offline pada Siswa Kelas X SMA Negeri 8 Malang

    The objective of this developmental research are: (1) to de­scribe the product of offline web-based instructional media of Arabic language for X class of SMAN 8 Malang, (2) to describe the feasibil­ity of offline web-based instructional media of Arabic language for X class of SMAN 8 Ma­lang, and (3) to describe the use of offline web-based instructional media of Arabic language for X class of SMAN 8 Malang. This study uses a model of Re­search and Development (R&D) by Borg & Gall. The data is verbal and nu­merical data. The instrument used in this study are the researcher and questionnaires. Test subject in this developmental research include: 1) one matter experts, 2) a media expert both lecturers in the De­partment of Arabic Literature UM and 3) high school studies teach­ers who teach the Arabic lan­gu­age; 4) 35 students of Senior High School at X class. The results of this developmental research are the offline web-based instructional media of Arabic language that is in the form of CD. The product is well worth about 93.05% level of eli­gibility. The product is used with the clas­sical and in­de­pendent instructional model
