No full textNatural science has made great strides in uncovering the laws and principles that undergird natural phenomena. From the behavior of subatomic particles and the function of cells to the nature of outermost stars and galaxies, science has helped elucidate a vast amalgam of theoretical issues which in the past baffled the human intellect for its unfathomable mystery and depth. Given the spectacular progress of science, it is quite understandable for disciplines outside science to seek objective and reliable knowledge by emulating the method of scientific inquiry. Alongside such disciplines like medicine and psychology, education has sought to improve the quality of teaching and learning by adopting the canons of scientific research. Though this trend in educational research has to an extent bettered our understanding of effective pedagogical practice, science cannot and wonʼt solve many of the conundrums teachers daily face inside the classroom. As this paper will argue, this is partly because education raises fundamental questions of value that are beyond the purview of science

Get PDFリーダーの性差は，リーダーの評価にどのような影響を与えるだろうか。先行研究では，男性の方が，女性よりもリーダーとして好まれ，高い評価を受けることが示されているが，本研究では，女性リーダーが，男性リーダーよりも高く評価される条件について検討を行った。そのため，リーダーのプロフィールとして，リーダーの性別 2（男性・女性）×企業業種 2（化粧品会社・鉄道会社）×家庭状況 2 （既婚子有り・独身子無し）の 8 種類を作成し，大学生を対象とした質問紙調査にてリーダーの印象評定を求めた。分析の結果，リーダーの印象は“作動性”“共同性”“理知性”の 3 次元によって構成された。そして，女性リーダーは，既婚子有りで化粧品会社勤務の条件にて，作動性が高く評価され，男性リーダーは，独身子無しで鉄道会社勤務の条件で，作動性が低く評価された。この結果は，判断基準の移行（shifting standards）を伴うステレオタイプ的判断と考察された

Get PDF看図アプローチを用いた高校での授業づくり事例を3 つ報告した。看図アプローチによる授業づくりレパートリーを増やすことができた。また，看図アプローチは若手の教員でも授業づくりにいかせること，看図アプローチによって教員自身のアクティブ・ラーニングも促進されること，なども見出された。ただし，この結果は事例研究によるものである。今後さらに研究を蓄積していく必要がある

Deployment of language activities in Combined Classes
Get PDF平成20年度版学習指導要領において言語活動の充実が提示され、７年が経過した。言語活動の充実に関する研究は、理論的にも実践的にも数多くの研究が積まれている。それらの多くは、通常の30人規模の学級における言語活動を対象にしたものである。本稿では、複式学級という少人数の学習空間で、言語活動をどのように展開したのか、そして、複式学級における言語活動の展開にあたっての課題とはどのようなことなのかを明らかにすることを目的としている。また、言語活動の理論的研究や実践の多くは、国語科において行われているものであるが、本稿で取り上げる言語活動は、国語科を基盤にしたうえでの、総合的な学習の時間における実践である。
以上のように、本稿は、複式学級という少人数の学習空間において言語活動実践を取り上げ、国語以外の他教科での実践であるという点において、意義あるものである
Secondary School Teachers’ Attitudes Towards Communicative Language Teaching: A report from a KAKEN questionnaire survey
Get PDFThis article is based on a questionnaire survey I conducted in March 2015. The survey is part of my KAKENHI (grant-in-aid research) study, whose aim is to investigate the role of classroom discourse between teacher and students at secondary schools in Japan. The incentive for the study originated from the fact that most secondary school English classes are not conducted communicatively. The dominant teaching methodology is the Grammar Translation Method (GTM), which is not suitable to develop learners’ fluency of English. The latest revision of the guidelines by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) proposed that English classes should be conducted in English at senior high schools. This survey investigated secondary school teachers’ attitudes towards Communicative Language Teaching (CLT). The results revealed that practitioners face some common problems when conducting communicative lessons, which, as I shall argue, is the result of insufficient CLT training in pre-service programmes at university
