Efek Pemberian Minyak Zaitun (Olive oil) Terhadap Perubahan Profil Lipid Pada Tikus putih (Rattus novergicus)
This research aims to know the effects of olive oil to changes profil lipid (total cholesterol, LDL, HDL, and triglycerides) in the blood of the Rattus novergicus who were given a high cholesterol diet. This research is experimental research methods laboratory with pre and post test control . Homogeneous data and normal data next performed a test of paired t-Test and LSD test. All test data using the 95% significance level (p = 0.05). Conclusion of this research is the olive oil was able to lower the lipid profile, cholesterol 22,61%, LDL 38,48%, triglycerides 17.61% and increase the HDL 25.32% in the blood of rats high cholesterol die
EFEK HEPATOPROTEKTOR DARI EKSTRAK ETANOL DAUN JOHAR (Cassia siamea LAMK.) PADA TIKUS (Rattus norvegicus)
Johar leaf has been empirically used as malaria and hepatitis medicine. This research aims to determine hepatoprotective effect of ethanol extract of Johar leaves (Cassia siamea Lamk.) of rats liver. This research used 15 tested rats divided into 5 groups, group I was given Na.CMC 1% (negative control), group II ethanolic extract of Johar leaves of 50 mg/kgBB, group III ethanolic extract of Johar leaves of 250 mg/kgBB, group IV ethanolic extract of Johar leaves of 500 mg/kgBB, and group V as a comparison given suspension curliv® of 42,86 mg/kgBB. Giving suspension curliv® was orally done once a day for 7 days. On the 8th day, the experimental rats were given paracetamol suspension dosage of 2,5 g/kgBB. Measurements of SGPT content was done before therapy (normal), after therapy, and after administration of paracetamol. The results showed that the ethanolic extract of Johar leaves with the dose of 50; 250; 500 mg/kgBB have a hepatoprotective effect and dose is 500 mg/kgBB which was not statistically significantly different from curliv®
FORMULASI SIRUP EKSTRAK DAUN SENDOK (Plantago mayor L.) SEBAGAI EKSPEKTORAN DENGAN PARAMETER UJI MUKOLITIK
Traditional medicines that derive from the plants processed in the form of traditional herb have provided a lot of contribution to the maintenance the health of community. Greater plantain (Plantago mayor L.) is one of natural materials that is useful as expectorant, however, so far the use is still processed traditionally by community.To find out and make sure that the ethanol extract of greater plantain (Plantago mayor L.) can be formulated to be syrup expectorant, then to determine the most effective concentration in lowering the viscosity of fluid mucus of every formula made.In this research, the syrup ethanol extract of greater plantain (Plantago mayor L.) was made with concentration variation of 6%, 8%, and 10%.Observation was made by looking at the lowering of viscosity of fluid mucus that has been diluted with phosphate buffer pH 7 by using viscometer Ostwald through the flow time. Based on the test result ANSIRA to 3 formulas of syrup expectorant and negative control, it was proved that the concentration of ethanol extract of greater plantain (Plantago mayor L.) in the treatment of this research significant effected in lowering the viscosity of mucus with price F count > F table or 66, 3181 > 4, 07 on the test level of 5% and 66, 3181 > 7, 59 on the test level of 1%. With the price KK 4, 11% then further test was done using BNJ test. Based on the test result BNJ, it was known the formula of syrup expectorant that most effective is the formula II with the concentration of ethanol extract of greater plantain 8%.
PENGARUH EFEK EKSTRAK ETANOL DAUN SIRIH ( Piper Betle Linn.) SEBAGAI ANTIOKSIDAN TERHADAP LUKA BAKAR PADA KULIT PUNGGUNG KELINCI (Oryctolagus Cuniculus)
The burn are injuries to the skin where a response to the skin and subcutaneous tissue to the trauma experienced. The burn with partial thickness is a burn that does not damage the epithelial tissue of the skin and only damage some of the epithelial. This research aims to determine the effect of ethanol extract of betel leaf (Piper betle Linn.) As an antioxidant to burns on the skin back of the rabbit's (Oryctolagus Cuniculus). The experimental method was carried out experimentally, divided into 5 groups and treatment for 7 days, P1 negatife control (made wound on the skin back of rabbit and smeared with vaseline flavum), P2 positif control (made wound on rabbit’s skin back and smeared with bioplacenton ointment) P3 (made wound and ethanol extract of betel leaf with 5% concentration), P4 (made wound and ethanol extract of betel leaves with 10% concentration), P5 (made wound and ethanol extract of betel leaves with 15% concentration). The result of the research on the measurement of diameter of burn area on rabbit's skin back before and after treatment, group I 2.5 cm and 2.4 cm, group II 2.5 cm and 1.9 cm, group III 2.2 cm and 1.9 cm, group IV 2.3 cm and 1.8 cm, and group V 2.3 cm and 1.6 cm. PENENTUAN KADAR FENOLIK TOTAL EKSTRAK ETANOL DAUN NILAM (Pogostemon cablin Benth.) DENGAN METODE SPEKTROFOTOMETRI UV-VIS
One of the plants that is well known in the community and is used as a traditional medicine is patchouli (Pogostemon cablin Benth.). It contains essential oils, flavonoids, saponins, tannins, glycosides, terpenoids and steroids. The alcohol content, such as patchouli alcohol and its derivatives, phenol, and a group of terpenoids in patchouli oil has antibacterial activity. The aim at this research to determine the total phenolic condition the ethanol extract from the patchouli leaves. The extract obtained was analyzed ist content using UV-Vis spectrophotometer. The measurements were done at the maximum wavelength of 662,85 nm. The result showed that the total phenolic in patchouli leave is 327,84 mgGAE /gram of extract
ANALISIS KADAR ARSEN (As) DAN TIMBAL (Pb) PADA MINYAK GORENG PEMAKAIAN BERULANG DENGAN METODE SPEKTROFOTOMETRI SERAPAN ATOM
This study aims to analyze the levels of arsenic (As) and lead (Pb) in frying oil usage over and over. This research was conducted at the Center for Health Laboratory Makassar. Samples obtained from merchants fried foods. To ensure the metal content of the samples prior didestruksi with HNO3P and heated for 16 hours to liberate arsenic and lead from the oil matrix, then measured using atomic absorption spectrophotometer (AAS) at a wavelength of 193.7 nm (Arsenic) and 283 nm (lead ). From the results obtained penilitian arsenic (As) in the three vendors that is <0.1 ppm (max 0.1 ISO ppm) and lead levels that merchants 1 (0.1503 mg / kg and 0.1940 mg / kg), traders 2 (0.3452 mg / kg and 0.4005 mg / kg), the merchant 3 (0.1111 mg / kg and 0.1788 mg / kg) respectively for the samples before and after frying (SNI max 0.1 mg / kg)
EFEK ANTIINFLAMASI EKSTRAK ETANOL DAUN KERSEN (Muntingia calabura L.) PADA MENCIT (Mus musculus)
Leaf cherry (Muntingia Calabura L) empirically been used by the public as an anti-inflammatory drug. Cherry leaf contains flavonoids are thought to have antioxidant effects. This study has been tested antiinflammatory effect of ethanol extract of leaves of cherry (Muntingia Calabura L) in mice (Mus musculus). A total of 15 mice were divided into 5 groups of 3 animals. Group I (control) are given Na.CMC 1% w/v, Group II, III, and IV (treatment) were given cherry leaf extract ethanol concentration of 1% w / v, 3% w / v, and 5% w / v, as well as groups V (comparison) given Diclofenac Sodium 0.195 mg / 30 gBW. Before treatment all groups karagen induced with 1% w / v in intraplantar. Antiinflammatory effect was measured using pleytismometer. The results were analyzed statistically by one-way ANOVA method. The results showed that the ethanol extract of cherry leaf has anti-inflammatory effects and the concentration of 3% and 5% w / v has an effect no different to that diclofenac sodium
UJI EFEK EKSTRAK ETANOL DAUN CINCAU HIJAU (Cyclea barbata Miers) SEBAGAI ANTIINFLAMASI PADA TIKUS PUTIH YANG DIINDUKSI KARAGEN
Inflammatory medication which is commonly used is the treatment synthetically or traditionally from the natural ingredients, the green grass jelly leaves (Cyclea barbata Miers). This research aimed to determine the effects and the most effective dose of the ethanol extract of green grass jelly leaves as an anti-inflammatory in white rats induced by carrageenan. This research used 15 mice divide into 5 group. Group I (negative control) was given Na.CMC; group II (positive control) was given Na.Diclofenac; group III, IV and V were given ethanol extract of green grass jelly leaves (EEDCH) at the dose of 1.875 mg/kgBW, 3.75 mg/kgBW, and 7.5 mg/kgBW. Pretreatment on animals induced by carrageenan 1% amounted to 0.1 mL in sub plantar on the soles of the mice. The measurements were made every 1 hour for 5 hour by using the pletismometer tool. The result showed that the ethanol extract of green grass jelly leaves has a potential as anti-inflammatory. Based on the result of statistical analysis of the one way ANOVA followed by Post Hoc Test LSD showed that substance EEDCH at the dose of 7.5 mg/kgBW has anti-inflammatory effect were not significantly different from the positive control (Na.Diclofenac).Keywords: Green grass jelly leaves (Cyclea barbata Miers), anti-inflammatory, Na.Diclofenac
STANDARISASI EKSTRAK AIR DAUN JATI BELANDA DAN TEH HIJAU
Teh hijau memiliki nama spesies Camellia sinensis (L.) Kuntze, family Theaceae dan Jati belanda (Guazuma ulmifolia Lam.) termasuk kedalam family sterculiaceae Tujuan Penelitian ini adalah melakukan standarisasi ekstrak air daun jati belanda dan ekstrak air the hijau. Ekstrak distandardisasi dengan beberapa dua parameter yaitu parameter spesifik dan parameter non spesifik. Kadar sari larut air pada jati belanda 12,88 % dan teh hijau 40,88, sedangkan kadar sari larut etanol pada jati belanda 4, 23 % dan pada teh hijau 4,23 %. Hasil pengujian kandungan kimia menunjukkan pada ekstrak jati belanda mengandung saponin dan flavonoid sedangkan pada teh hijau mengandung tanin dan flavonoid. Kadar air ekstrak daun jati belanda 0,95 % dan teh hijau 2,79%. Hasil kadar abu total jati belanda sebesar 37,61% dan teh hijau 36,84%. Kadar abu tidak larut asam yaitu pada jati belanda sebesar 3,54% dan teh hijau 3,77%. Hasil dari penetapan susut pengeringan pada ekstrak jati belanda yaitu 0,46 % dan teh hijau 0,46 %. Ekstrak jati belanda maupun teh hijau berdasarkan pengujian standarisasi meliputi parameter spesifik dan non-spesifik memenuhi standarisasi mutu bahan baku
PENETAPAN KADAR FLAVONOID TOTAL EKSTRAK ETANOL KULIT BUAH ALPUKAT (Persea americana Mill.) DENGAN METODE SPEKTROFOTOMETRI UV-VIS
Avocado plant (Persea americana Mill.), belongs to Lauraceae family which have medicinal properties. Avocado peel contains flavonoid compounds that can be used to protect and reduce the skin damage against UV rays. This study aimed to determine the total flavonoids content of the ethanol extract of the avocado peel using UV-Vis spectrophotometry. The ethanol extract of avocado peel was obtained by maceration with ethanol. The qualitative analysis used FeCl3 by forming green complex. The determination of total flavonoids content is conducted based on AlCl3 method with total flavonoids expressed in QE (Quercetin equivalent) at the maximum wavelength of 435 nm. The result showed that the average content of flavonoid total is 4.0122 mgQE/g extract
