    Acne is one skin problem commonly known as acne vulgaris, that is a state where the skin pores are clogged. Some of the bakteria causing the growth on acne are Propianibacterium acne and Staphylococcus epidermidis . Green tea (Camellia sinensis L.) is one of the plants that can be useful as antibacterial. This study aimed to obtained the antibacterial activity of ethanol extract leaves and sregs of green tea which has the  potential  to inhibit the growth of acne causing bacteria by the agar diffusion method. The simplisia of green tea leaves and dregs are macerated with ethanol 96% and obtained the weight of ethanol extract of green tea leaves 34.6 grams. In determination of Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) ethanol extract of the leaves and the dregs, the MIC value obtained is the same as the two test bacteria on the concentration of 0.1%; whereas, KBM value is on the concentration of 0.4%. The result of the antibacterial activity of ethanol extract of green tea leaves at the largest concentration of 8% has an inhibitory zone diameter of 18.11 mm to Propianibacterium acne and 18.05 mm to Staphylococcus epidermidis. For the antibacterial activity test of ethanol extract the green tea dregs at the largest concentration of 8% has the largest average inhibitory zone diameter of 17.45 mm against Propinibacterium acne and 15.68 mm against Staphylococcus epidermidis

    Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a metabolic diseases caused by impaired insulin secretion. The prevalence of DM in pets increased from 2006 until 2015.Therapy by using insulin feared can be worse for patient, so yhat alternative medicine is needed like banana peel. The aims of this study isto determine the effect ofethanol extract of Mas banana peel (Musa acuminata (AA Group)) to decrease level of glucose in mice’s blood (Mus musculus) were induced by alloxan. This research was conducted in June 2017 at Biopharmaceutical Laboratory Faculty of Pharmacy, Hasanuddin University. This study uses 24 male mice which divided into 6 groups where the normal control (standard diet), negative control (Na.Cmc 1%), positive control (Metformin 140mg/KgBB) and treatment group by ethanol extract of Mas banana peel 1%, 5%, and 25%. The treatment was given for 10 days. Data were analyzed using one way Anova. The result of this study showed that ethanol extract in banana peel decrease the level of blood glucose which the decrease percentage are 43,15%, 54,61%, 74,28%. The summary of this research is the treatment by using variant concentration of ethanol extract of Mas banana peelfor 10 days give the significant effect for decreasing the level of blood glucose (p0,05)

    Tempe is an Indonesia traditional food, which in the manufacturers have a liquid waste that no use again namely soybean soaking water. Lactic Acid Bacteria (LAB) has been known at every stage of tempeh production, included at soaking soybeans. This study aimed to isolate and characterize LAB contained in soybean soaking water liquid waste. After serial dilution to 10-7, soybean soaking water liquid waste was inoculated on the MRSA contained 1% CaCO3. After incubation, there are 8 isolates which produce clear zone around their colonies with different colony morphology suspected as LAB. Morphological, physiological and biochemical characteristics were employed to identify LAB. All isolates were non-spore forming, non-motile, catalase negative, grow well at 37° and 45°C, could be able to grow in the presence of 4% and 6.5% sodium chloride. The results of safety test showed all isolates negative for hemolytic activity. Seven of eight isolates are Gram-positive, while one is a Gram-negative. But only Gram-positive were chosen as they represent the LAB characteristic. Seven isolates were identified as Lactobacillus with heterofermentative as the type fermentation.     The test effect of Taoge Juice on Cholesterol Level of Rat (Rattus norvegicus) Male Hyperlipidemia.This research purpose to know and to fix the concentration of Taoge Juice which have hypolipidemia effect at rat (Rattus norvegicus) male, that administered orally has been conducted. This research used 15 rat male and divided to 5 groups, and each group consist 3 rat male. First group given Na.CMC as control, second group given simvastatin as standard of comparison.The third, fourth and fifth groups given Taoge Juice with 30 %, 60%, and 90 % respectively. This research done by measuring the normal cholesterol level, induced by propiltiurazil and goat lipid and  given by NaCMC, Taoge Juice with 30%, 60%, and 90% concentration and standard of comparison (Simvastatin). This cholesterol level determing by using Human Analyzer. Then do the analyzing data. Besed on analyzed data obtain that control group is significantly (p0,05).     Determination of the research done on the extract lunacridine Sanrego (L. amara Blanco) in extraction with various methods of extraction. This study aims to determine the various menthods of extraction (maceration, refluks and soxhletasi) are most appropriate to extractim sanrego lunacridine on wood extract (L. amara Blanco) and determine the levels with TLC-Densitometry. Wood sanrego (L.amara Blanco) extrac dusing methanol solvent. Lunacridine as marker and sample in TLC and eluted wiyh the eluent n-hexane:ethyl acetate (2:8) and then scanned with a TLC-Densitometry of wavelength 303 nm. The results showed that the most appropriate extraction method is refluks with quote lunacridine content 37,52 µg/µL  that in maceration 35,03 µg/µL

    Research of endophytic fungi of pomegranate fruit peel (Punica granatum L.), as Anti-free radicals and antibiotic has been done with DIKTI-PKM funding at 2014. It is considered necessary to further research about optimization of antibiotic production from pomegranate fruit peel with variation of carbon source, first step is selection of isolates that have largest inhibition zone and has the most inhibit microbial test, that is endophytic fungi IKD FF-UMI 02 that has activity on Salmonella thypii, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Staphylococcus aureus and Shigella dysenteriae. Determination of growth curve from isolate by inoculating into Potato Dextrose Broth and incubated for 7x24 hours. Every 12 hours the mycelium is weighed to determine its stationary phase. Determination of optimum conditions of fermentation with carbon source such as glucose, galactose, and fructose. Endophytic fungi IKD FF-UMI 02 inoculated and fermented into production medium which is every 12 hours fermentate was taken. The activity was tested using agar diffusion method in Nutrient Agar (NA) against Salmonella thypii, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Staphylococcus aureus and Shigella dysenteriae. Resulted that growth curve of selected endophytic fungi IKD FF-UMI 02 from pomegranate fruit peel show that stationer phase starting on 192 hour and galactose carbon source is show optimum time of antibiotic production on 120 hours with inhibition zone 10,24 mm against Shigella dysenteriae

    The research was done to analysis of amount lead (Pb), zinc (Zn) and copper (Cu) at milkfish (Chanos chanos Forsk.) from Labbakkang Pangkep by Atomic Absorbtion Spectrophotometry (AAS). Before to be analised, first to do destruction of milkfish (Chanos chanos Forsk.) later on HNO3. Quantitative analysis used atomic absorbtion spectrophotometry (AAS) at wave length of 283,3 nm for lead (Pb), 213,9 nm for zinc (Zn) and 324,8 nm for copper (Cu). Result of research find average rates of lead (Pb) and copper (Cu) from Labbakkang Pangkep is 0,0392 mg/kg and 0,0882 mg/kg. From result of research to showing that average rates Pb and Cu in the location, it is not over from still limit and according to Dirjen POM regulation

    Teh hijau memiliki nama spesies Camellia sinensis (L.) Kuntze, family Theaceae dan Jati belanda (Guazuma ulmifolia Lam.) termasuk kedalam family sterculiaceae. Ekstrakse dengan metode maserasi termodifikasi microwave dengan pelarut air. Purifikasi ekstrak dengan menggunakan pelarut dengan tingkat kepolaran yang berbeda-beda dimulai dengan petroleum eter, kloroform, etil asetat dan metanol. Pengujian aktivitas antioksidan dengan metode peredaman radikal DPPH. Hasil penelitian dipeoleh rendamen ekstrak terpurifikasi ekstrak teh hijau 13,33 % dan jati belanda 46,66 %.Pengujian antioksidan menunjukkan nilai IC50 jati belanda yaitu 10,13 ppm, lebih besar dibandingkan teh hijau yaitu 31,13 %

    Community health center is technical implementation unit of a district / municipality health service who are responsible for organizing health development in a working area. The aims of this study is to determine the relationship between drug services with the level of patient satisfaction at the pharmacy unit of Donggala community health center in Banawa subdistrict, and also to know the level of  patient satisfaction and expectations by measuring with Importance Performance Analysis method to the five dimensions of service in the pharmacy unit at Donggala community health center of Banawa subdistrict. This research was conducted at the pharmacy unit of Donggala community health center in Banawa subdistrict on September 2016 until December 2016 by purposive sampling using questionnaire as instrument through Likert scale. Patient satisfaction are measured using 5 dimension of service which are tangible, relibility, responsiveness, assurance and empathy were analyzed by Importance Performance Analysis (IPA). As the result with 151 respondents at the average of gap (GAP) is -0.82 and 80.87% match rate and the most widely indicator were mapped by cartesius diagram is in quadrant A which are the quality service must still be considered and improved. This is also shows patient in Donggala community health center are still less satisfied and their expectation are still below

    Phenolic is a compound that having an aromatic ring with one or more hydroxyl groups. Phenolic compounds in foods can be grouped into simple phenols and folic acid. This study aimed to determine the total phenolic content of the leaf extract of nutmeg (Myristica fragrans Houtt). Leaves of nutmeg extracted using 70% ethanol, then the extract conducting qualitative analysis by reaction with FeCl3 as specific reagent. The result of this reaction is green solution, it means there are phenolic compound in the extract. The quantitative process of total phenolic was analyzed by UV-Vis spectrophotometry. A comparison used in this analysis is gallic acid; it is a standard reference in the determination of total phenolic content. Sample measured at a wavelength of 860.7 nm, which is the maximum wavelength of gallic acid. Total average content of phenolic is 183.56-mgGAE/g extract. The ethanol extract of nutmeg’s leaves have high total phenolic content, which means it is potential as antioxidant
