UJI AKTIVITAS LARVASIDA PERASAN HERBA SELEDRI (Apium graveolens L.) TERHADAP LARVA Aedes aegypti
The people of West Kalimantan tend to store water in water reservoirs around their homes, so that the water reservoirs are preferred to be used as breeding sites for Aedes aegypti mosquitoes. Prevention of the development of mosquitoes is very important, one program to suppress mosquito transmission is by eradicating larvae. The many negative effects of synthetic larvicides make the use of cytetic larvicides restricted, thus encouraging the development of natural larvicides, which are safe for the human body, easily accessible and environmentally friendly. Celery is one of the vegetable larvicides that is being developed by several researchers, so the purpose of this study is to determine the larvicidal activity of celery herb infused and to determine the concentration that can kill the most larvae and determine the values of LC50, LC100 and LT50, LT100. This research was conducted with a concentration of 1%, 2%, 3%, 4% and 5%, positive control (abate 0.01%) and negative aquadest control tested on 25 larvae for 24 hours. The results of this study showed the highest Mortality Percentage of mortality of Aedes aegypti larvae obtained from the infused of celery herbs (Apium graveolens L.) at a concentration of 5% which was 98.64%. Lethal concentration (LC50) infused of celery (Apium graveolens L.) as larvacide was 1.88%, LC100 4.43%, and Lethal Time (LT50) at 12.39 hours, LT100 at 29.42 hour

Solid soap is a soap made from fat saponification reaction of solid sodium hydroxide, which is used to cleanse the body. Patchouli essential oil content of patchouli alcohol discount antibacterial and anti-inflammatory. One dosage appropriate to formulate patchouli essential oils to antibacterial soap is in the form of a solid. This research aims to create a solid soap preparation patchouli essential oils as antibacterial soap. Research conducted an experiment with solid soap making preparations to test a physical evaluation of solid soap include organoleptic test is the color, shape and scent, pH test, test foam height and stability test (cycling test). The results showed that the preparations are made which have different colors and scents are the same, because the process used for solid soap that is by the saponification reaction for 2 hours with temperature 70-800C, with the variation of patchouli essential oil 1%, 2%, 3% (b / b) as an ingredient additives and make use of the type of NaOH. From the result of the concentration of essential oils nilam varied, which makes different colors with the same scent, obtained pH between 7.77 to 9.70 with a height of 9 cm foam inside
KOMBINASI EKSTRAK ETANOL DAUN KEMANGI (Ocimum bacilicum L.) DAN DAUN SALAM (Syzygium polyanthum (Wight) Walp) SEBAGAI ANTIINFLAMASI PADA TIKUS (Rattus norvegicus) JANTAN YANG DIINDUKSI KARAGEN
Inflammation is a normal protective response to tissue injury caused by physical trauma that could damage characterized by symptoms such as pain (dolor), heat (kalor), redness (rubor), swelling (tumor) and functional changes (fungsiolaesa). This research aimed to determine the anti-inflammatory effects of the ethanol extract combination of kemangi folium (Ocimum bacilicum L.) and salam folium (Syzygium polyanthum (Wight) Walp) in male rats (Rattus norvegicus) induced carrageen. This research used 15 rats divided into 5 groups: group I Na CMC (Naïve), group II Sodium Diclofenac (negative), group III was administered the ethanol extract of kemangi folium and salam folium with dose 125:125 mg/kgBW, group IV with dose of 125:75 mg/kgBW and group V with dose 250:75 mg/kgBW. The entire of administration was done orally. The measurement of male rat foot was performed every 30 minutes to 150 minutes. The data were statistically analyzed using One Way ANOVA followed by Post Hoc LSD test. The results showed that the ethanol extract of Kemangi folium with dose of 250 mg/kgBW and the ethanol extract of Salam folium with dose of 75 mg/kgBW had the effect of decreasing the edema volume of the rat foot effectively the same as anti-inflammatory drugs NSAID where the results of statistical analysis were obtained significance (p>0.05)
UJI AKTIVITAS ANTIOKSIDAN EKSTRAK DAUN DARUJU (Acanthus ilicifolius L.) DENGAN METODE PEREDAMAN RADIKAL BEBAS 1,1-DIPHENYIL-2-PICRYLHIDRAZIL (DPPH)
Sea holly leaves (Acanthus ilicifolius L.) belongs to Acanthaceae family, contain flavonoid compounds, alkaloids, an phenols. This research aimed to determine the antioxidant activity of sea holly leaf extract by free radical damping method 1,1-Diphenyl-2-Picrylhydrazil (DPPH). The extraction method multilevel maseration using n-hexane extract, ethyl acetate extract, and ethanol extract is 1,55%, 0,65% and 4,97% respectively. On each extract, the antioxidant activity was assayed by DPPH free radical inhibition method by measuring is absorbance at the maximum wavelength of 515nm using UV-VIS spectrophometer with quercetin compound as comparator. The result of antioxidant assay showed that IC50 value, ethanol extract is 34,659 μg/mL (strong antioxidant), ethyl acetate extract is 162,512 μg/mL (weak antioxidant), n-hexane extract is361,730 μg/mL (not active as antioxidant)
ISOLASI DAN IDENTIFIKASI BAKTERI ASAM LAKTAT DARI LIUR BASA (LIMBAH SAYUR BAYAM DAN SAWI)
Lactic acid bacteria (BAL) is a gram-positive bacterium in the form of stems or round, not forming spores, anaerobic facultative fermentation and has the ability to ferment glucose into lactic acid. The purpose of this study was to isolate and identify lactic acid bacteria from spinach and mustard vegetable waste which can be used as food preservative. The isolation result was obtained by 10 isolates suspected as lactic acid bacteria. The isolates obtained were identified macroscopically, fermentation test, gram staining, spore staining and catalase test. From the macroscopic identification of samples of spinach and mustard, the isolates were white milk, rounded circular edges, kensitri surface and convex elevation. The fermentation test indicates that are heterofermentative and. All isolates obtained in the form of gram-positive bacteria had no negative spores and catalases and its alleged are Lactobasillus
AKTIVITAS ANTIOKSIDAN FRAKSI RIMPANG KENCUR (Kaempferia rhizoma) DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN METODE PEREDAMAN 1,1 Diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazil (DPPH)
Kaempferia is one of the most widely used plants in society is a traditional at the medicine. Empirically Kaempferia rhizome has a special quality as a wound healer, good for digestion, antibacterial, and as an antioksidant. Based on research been conducted that Kaempferia extract has antioxidant activity. This research aimed to test antioxidant activity base on IC50 value on kaempferia rhizome fraction by the reduction method 1,1 diphenil-2-phicrylhydrazil (DPPH). The extract obtained was fractionated using a vacuum liquid chromatography method, then performed free radical reduction meansurements using UV-VIS spectrophotometry. A positive fraction of antioxidants activity is the n-hexane fraction : ethyl acetate (7:3 and 8:2). The n-hexane fraction 8:2 showed higher antioxidant activity with IC50 731.832 µg/mL. Uji Daya Hambat Ekstrak Kulit Buah Manggis (Garcinia mangostana L.) Terhadap Pertumbuhan Candida albicans Secara In Vitro (Studi Eksperimen di Laboratorium Mikrobiologi Farmasi Universitas Muslim Indonesia 2017)
Latar Belakang: Kesehatan gigi dan mulut penting untuk diperhatikan. Berdasarkan provinsi tahun 2013 yang mempunyai masalah gigi dan mulut yang cukup tinggi (>35%) adalah provinsi Sulawesi Selatan, Kalimantan Selatan dan Sulawesi Tengah dengan EMD 10,3%, 8%, dan 6,4%. Candida albicans merupakan flora normal yang dapat ditemukan dalam rongga mulut yang sehat, tetapi dapat menjadi pathogen apabila didukung oleh kondisi penurunan respon imun. Kulit buah manggis memiliki efek sebagai antifungi karena mempunyai kandungan aktif berupa alkaloida, saponin, flavonoid, tanin, triterpenoid dan steroid. Tujuan: Mengetahui daya hambat ekstrak kulit buah manggis (Garcinia mangotana L.) terhadap pertumbuhan Candida albicans secara in vitro. Metode: Penelitian ini adalah Eksperimental Laboratoris dengan desain post test only control group design. Sampel penelitian adalah biakan murni jamur Candida albicans di Laboratorium Mikrobiologi Farmasi UMI. UJI AKTIVITAS HIPOLIPIDEMIK EKSTRAK ETANOL HERBA KROKOT (Portulaca oleracea L.) PADA TIKUS OBESITAS DENGAN PARAMETER TRIGLISERIDA
Hypolipidemics a drug used to lower plasma lipid levels in the blood. This study aimed to examine the hypolipidemic activity of ethanol extract of purslane herb (Portulaca oleracea L.) against the triglyceride level reduction in obese mice. The purslane herb contains omega-3, flavonoids and hight ascorbic acid as a lowering of triglyceride levels in the blood. This study used 15 malerats divided into 5 groups. Group I (negative control) was given Na.CMC 1%, group II (positive control) was given Gemfibrozil, group III, IV, and V were given ethanol extract of purslane herb with dose of 100 mg/kgBW, 200mg/kgBW, and 300 mg/kgBW as therapy group. All the administration were done orally once a day for 16 days. The measurement of triglyceride level was performed on early triglycerides before induction, after induction and after therapy. Before therapy, the rats were given hight-calorie diet. The results showed that the ethanol extract of purslanes herb has activity as hypolipidemic in lowering trygliseride level in obese mice. From the statistic result of One-Way ANOVA followed by LSD test, it can be concluded that the ethanol extract of purslane herb of the dose 100 mg/kgBW provide the most effective hypolipidemic activity that triglyceride level is not significantly different from positive control group (p>0,05)
ANALISIS AKTIVITAS ANTIOKSIDAN SEDIAAN PROPOLIS YANG BEREDAR DI KOTA MAKASSAR DENGAN METODE FRAP (Ferric Reducing Antioxidant Power)
Antioxidants are chemical compounds that can donate one or more electrons to free radical, so that free radicals that can be suppressed.This study aimed to obtain and provide scientific evidence to the public regarding the antioxidant activity in propolis liquid product circulating in Makassar. This study using FRAP (Ferric Reducing Antioxidant Power) and 96% ethanol. Free radical activity absorbance was measured with a UV-VIS spectrophotometer at a wavelength of 710 nm and the total value of antioxidant activity was calculated based on data absorbance. The calculations show that the sample A has antioxidant activity of 0.0971 mgAAE / mg sample, the sample B has antioxidant activity of 0.0669 mgAAE / mg sample, the sample C has antioxidant activity of 0.0493 mgAAE / mg samples
ANALISIS AKTIVITAS PERLINDUNGAN SINAR UV SARI BUAH SIRSAK (Annona muricata L.) BERDASARKAN NILAI SUN PROTECTION FACTOR (SPF) SECARA SPEKTROFOTOMETRI UV-VIS
Sunlight contains UV rays that adversely affect the skin. These adverse effects can be minimized by the use of UV protective materials, both natural and synthetic. Soursop fruit (Annona muricata L.) has a high content of polyphenol compounds, some vitamins such as vitamin C, B1 and B2. This study aims to determine the activity of UV light protection on soursop juice (Annona muricata L.) by using Sun Protection Factor (SPF) calculation. The measurement of SPF values using the UV-Vis spectrophotometric method in the wavelength range from 290-320 nm. The results showed that soursop juice (Annona muricata L.) had UV light protection activity at 1% concentration of 5,188, 3% concentration of 12.242 and 5% concentration of 17,247.
