EFEKTIVITAS GEL EKSTRAK KASAR BROMELIN KULIT NANAS (Ananus comosus L. Merr) HASIL OPTIMASI FORMULA PADA TIKUS YANG DIBUAT LUKA MEMAR
Pineapple (Ananus comosus L. Merr) peel contains a protease enzyme, it was called bromelain. The purpose of this study was to develop a crude extract of bromelain of pineapple peel to be formulated into a gel and to determine the effects of crude extract of bromelain of pineapple peel gel on injury healing of rats skin contusion. Fresh pineapple peel carried out in order to get a crude extract of bromelain using the Herdyastuti’s method (2006) then formulated into a gel preparations with variations in the concentration of gelling agent and humectant. The evaluation of the quality of gel preparations were carried out, which included organoleptic test, homogeneity test, dispersion test, pH test, and viscosity test. The results of the evaluation of the quality of gel preparations were optimized using Simplex Lattice Design (SLD) to applied into 3 (three) dosage variations of the crude extract of bromelain of pineapple peel, namely 150 mg / KgBB, 300 mg / KgBB, and 450 mg / KgBB. The results showed that there was an effect of the concentration of carbopol 940 and glycerin on the organoleptic test, dispersion test, pH test and viscosity test, and there was no effect of the concentration of carbopol 940 and glycerin on homogeneity tests. The 3 (three) dosage variations of the optimum gel formula have healing activity on rats skin contusion
Pengaruh Tempat Tumbuh dan Lama Penyulingan secara Hidrodestilasi terhadap Rendemen dan Profil Kandungan Kimia Minyak Atsiri Daun Kemangi (Ocimum canum Sims L.)
Kemangi (Ocimum canum Sims L.) is one of the plants producing essential oils. Kemangi essential oil is taken from the stem and leaves. This study aims to determine the precentage of the yield of kemangi leaf oil and to identify the content of the chemical compounds of essential oils found in kemangi leaves based on the comparison of the place of growth and duration of distillation. Kemangi leaf samples were obtained from the Bontoala sub-district and from Tinggimoncong sub-district of South Sulawesi. The extraction method of essential oils of kemangi leaves is done by the method of distilation/hydrodestilation using three variations of distillation time, namely 6 hours, 12 hours and 18 hours. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the kemangi leaf essential oil which has the highest yield is from Tinggimoncong sub-district of South Sulawesi, which is 3.325 % with distilation time for 18 hours, GC-MS identification results also show that kemangi leaves essential oil from Tinggimoncong sub-district of South Sulawesi has 93 components of chemical compounds with 5 main components, namely: 5-heptene-2-one, 6-methyl, 1,6-octadien-3-ol, 3,7-dimethyl, α-Terpeniol, 2,6-octadienal, 3,7-dimethy (E), eugenoland also has a component of minor compounds, namely: citral, lynalil acetate, eucalyptol, geraniol, verbenol, carveol, and trans-isoeugenol
UJI EFEK ANTIDIABETES KOMBINASI EKSTRAK HERBA SAMBILOTO (Andrographis paniculata (Burm. F.) Nees.) DAN DAUN SIRSAK (Annona muricata L.) PADA TIKUS JANTAN YANG DIINDUKSI ALOKSAN
Diabetes mellitus(DM) is a disease characterized by an increase in blood sugar levels above normal. A lot of research about the medicine focusing on the use of plants that can be used in traditional medicines. This report is to know the combination of extract ethanol sambiloto herb and leaves the soursop to lower blood glucose levels on male rats wistar are induced alloxan. The research is an experimental research to pre and post test randomized controlled group. Treatment test consists of 8 groups: normal control, negative (alloxan), positive (glibenclamide 1,26 mg/kgBB), dose I SA 100 (sambiloto herb 20,5 mg/kgBB), dose II SR 100(leaves the soursop100 mg/kgBB), dose III SA:SR 25:75, dose IV SA:SR 50:50, dose V SA:SR 75:25. All groups (except normal) induced by alloxan 160 mg / KgBB. Then proceed with treatment test each drug group from day 0 to 14 in oral. Intake of blood glucose levels is done on days 0, 7 and 14. The results of the measurement of blood glucose levels followed by ANOVA. Combination sambiloto herb and leaves the soursop more effective to reduce blood glucose levels than single. Doses combination SA:SR 50:50 give the efffect of 28,38073
Efek Perbedaan Pelarut terhadap Uji Toksisitas Ekstrak Pineung Nyen Teusalee
Smoked young areca nut seed or pineung nyen teusalee is a material commonly used by the Acehnese as medicine, especially diabetes medicine. This study aims to determine the phytochemical content and toxicity level of pineung nyen teusalee extracted using ethanol and aquadest. The concentration of pineung nyen teusalee extract solution used as the toxicity test concentration was 0 mg / L, 50 mg / L, 100 mg / L, 500 mg / L, and 1000 mg / L. Qualitative methods were used in testing phytochemical compounds while the toxicity level of LC50 using probit analysis using SPSS version 16.0 software. From the results of phytochemical analysis tests (flavonoids, tannins, and saponins) positive results were obtained for ethanol extract and aquadest extract for all phytochemical test parameters. Probit analysis showed that the concentration of ethanol extract of pineung nyen teusalee had a toxic effect on 50% of the population of Artemia salina Leach larvae with LC50 values of 115.71 mg/L. While the concentration of aquadest extract of pineung nyen teusalee gave an LC50 value of 338.40 mg/L
ANALISIS EFEKTIFITAS CEFAZOLINE, CEFTRIAXONE, CEFOTAXIME SEBAGAI ANTIBIOTIK PROFILAKSIS PADA PASIEN SECTIO CAESAREA
Prophylactic antibiotics is very necessary in labor with the aim of avoiding infection during SC surgery. This study was descriptive observational with retrospective data collection. The subjects observed in this study were medical records documents of SC patients in RJI hospitals in the area of South Surabaya for the period February - April 2017, with 39 documents were divided into 3 groups. Group A which received Cefazolin, Group B received Ceftriaxone, and Group C which received Ceftaxime. This study was comparison of the effectiveness of these 3 prophylactic antibiotics was measured by temperature parameters, leukocytes and observation of the condition of the surgical wound. Based on statistical analysis using the Kruskal Wallis test, it was found that the effectiveness of antibiotic prophylaxis Cefazolin was more effective in reducing the temperature and leukocytes of SC patients compared to Ceftriaxon and Cefotaxim, with an average rating of Cefazolin in temperature parameters of 27.58 and an average ranking in leukocyte parameters ie 25.81. Meanwhile in observing surgical wounds from three groups of antibiotic prophylaxis there was no redness, no swollen wounds, no discharge and no pus from surgical wound
UJI FITOKIMIA DAN AKTIVITAS ANTIOKSIDAN EKSTRAK METANOL DAUN ZODIA (Evodia suaveolens)
Zodia (Evodia suaveolens) plant is commonly used by the community to repel mosquitoes. The plant is native to Papua but has been widely cultivated in Java such as: Batu, Depok, Bogor, Bandung and Surabaya. The aim of this study is to determine the antioxidant activity of zodia leaves methanol extract. In addition, to determine the class of secondary metabolites of the methanol extract of zodia leaves. The extraction process was carried out by maceration method using methanol solvent for 3 days then the filtrate was concentrated using a rotary evaporator. The antioxidant potential of zodia leaves methanol extract was tested using the DPPH method (1,1-Diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl) with a UV-Vis spectrophotometer while the determination of secondary metabolite compounds from zodia leaves methanol extract was carried out qualitatively using reagents. The results of the phytochemical test showed that the methanol extract of zodia plant leaves contained group of alkaloid, flavonoids, and tannins compounds while the antioxidant activity test of zodia methanol extract using the DPPH method were shown with an IC50 value of 55,69 ppm while These results indicated that the zodia leaves methanol extracts have strong category of antioxidant activity
ANALISIS KADAR KUERSETIN PADA EKSTRAK ETANOL DAUN MIANA (Plectranthus scutellarioides (L.) R.Br.) SECARA HPLC (High Performance Liquid Chromatography)
One of the medicinal plants that people often use as a medicine is the Miana leaves (Plectranthus scutellarioides (L.) R.Br.). The Miana leaves are empirically used to treat coughs, heart disease, worm medicines, antimicrobials, antioxidants, antiseptics, bronchitis, hemorrhoids, tuberculosis, and other pharmacological activities. The miana leaves contain secondary metabolite compounds of flavonoids, steroids, tannins, and saponins. One of the most critical flavonoids is quercetin. This study aimed to determine the quercetin content of ethanol extract of miana leaves by HPLC (High Performance Liquid Cromatography). The extraction method by maceration using 96% ethanol. Determination of quercetin content in miana leaf ethanol extract by HPLC with C18 column, maximum wavelength of 369.11 nm with mobile phase methanol : aquabides (59:41) flow rate of 1 mL/minute. The results showed retention time for quercetin as a comparison of 4,183 minutes, a sample of 4.563 minutes, and an additional sample of 4,363 minutes. The average content of quercetin in miana leaf ethanol extract was 3.122 mg/g or 0,312%
UJI EFEK EPITELISASI EKSTRAK DAUN EKOR NAGA (Rhaphidophora pinnata (L.f) Schott.) PADA TIKUS
Burns are damage to the skin due to contact with sources of heat and radiation. The stage of handling burns involves several phases, namely the inflammatory phase, proliferation and maturation. This study aims to determine the effect of epithelialization of ethanol extract of dragon tail leaves (Rhaphidophora pinnata (L.f) Schott.) In the process of wound healing. This research was conducted in an experimental laboratory and used rat test animals. 15 animals were divided into 5 groups consisting of group I (control) given Na.CMC, group II were given bioplacenton ointment, group III, IV and V (group given) giving ethanol leaves Rhaphidophora pinnata extract. Giving is done twice a day for 14 days. The wound is made by inducing the back of a mouse with a hot plate of 100o C for 2 seconds.. The results of the study data are the average wound diameter and percent of wound reduction in statistics using oneway ANOVA and LSD follow-up test. Based on the results of the research that has been done, it can be concluded that the ethanol extract of dragon tail leaves has the effect of epithelialization in rats
PENETAPAN KADAR NITRIT (NO2-) DALAM BAYAM MERAH DAN BAYAM HIJAU DENGAN METODE SPEKTROFOTOMETRI VISIBEL
Green and red spinach is a vegetable that has a lot of nutritional content and is needed by the body. Besides containing many nutrients that are beneficial to the body, spinach vegetables also contain compounds that are toxic, can harm the body such as nitrite (NO2-) and cause methemoglobinemia. The purpose of this study was to analyze the levels of nitrites in green and red spinach with a visible spectrophotometric method and to determine whether the nitrites contained were still within safe limits of consumption in accordance with the ADI (Acceptable Daily Intake) value. Before the content analysis, a validation method was conducted with parameters including linearity with r = 0.9994, BD = 0.0499 µg / mL, BK = 0.1664 µg / mL,% recovery of day 1 = 1.5597 to 2 = 1.7547, the 3rd = 1.0126 and accuracy at a concentration of 0.3 μg / mL = 88.800%, 0.5 μg / mL = 95.332% and 0.7 μg / mL = 107.410%. Nitrite levels in fresh green spinach obtained an average of 23.4084 mg / kg, and 12.7272 mg / kg in red spinach. Furthermore, the green spinach after boiling yields an average of 16.8392 mg / kg and red spinach was 5.3359 mg / kg. Nitrite levels from all green and red spinach samples are still within safe limits for consumption in accordance with the ADI (Acceptable Daily Intake) value of 0.07 mg / kg of a predetermined human body weight
AKTIVITAS ANTIOKSIDAN DAN KANDUNGAN FENOLIK TOTAL FRAKSI N-HEKSAN DAN KLOROFORM DAUN JERUK PURUT (Citrus hystrix)
Free radicals can cause several diseases. Antioxidants are the compounds that can reduce free radicals in the human body. Kaffir lime leaves contain phenolic and flavonoids compounds which have antioxidant activity. This research aimed to evaluate the antioxidant activity and to determine total phenolic contents of fraction n-hexane and chloroform from kaffir lime leaves. The antioxidant activity was determined by radical scavenging assay using DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl) radical. The total phenolic content was determined by the spectrophotometric method. The results showed that the antioxidant activity of chloroform fraction (IC50: 302.91 ± 0.28 µg / mL) was higher than the n-hexane fraction (IC50: 714,25±1,97 µg /mL),but the antioxidant activity was lower than vitamin C (IC50: 3,28 ±0,12 µg /mL). The total phenolic content of chloroform fraction (4.73±0,33% w/w EAG) was higher than the n-hexane fraction (3,18 ± 0,31% w/w EAG)
