Influencing factors on students' behavior of choosing Chinese higher vocational colleges--based on TPB theory and personal value orientation
Thesis (Ph.D. (Management))--National Institute of Development Administration, 2022Due to the adjustment of economic structure and the optimization and upgrading of industrial structure, the structure of talent demand in China has also undergone profound changes in the new period, which objectively requires China to accelerate the development of higher vocational education and train highly skilled talents. The sustainable development of higher vocational colleges meets the demand for technical skills talents in the market, and is also a great positive factor for the quality improvement of China's manufacturing industry. As the main force in the technical skill talent market, higher vocational college students are also the most important group in need of attention and support in the education system. Focus on student satisfaction and loyalty status quo, for the higher vocational college students 'value orientation as the starting point, based on the relationship between higher vocational college students and schools, by improving higher vocational college students' expectations and perception to enhance students 'choice intention, ultimately affect students' behavior intention, for higher vocational education appeal direction, improve education service quality, improve the level of education provide reference opinions.
Based on the real situation, the SEM equation structure model will study the behavior of the behaviors of the students, the economic value orientation, social value orientation, independent choice ability, expectation, perceived value, the choice of the dependent variables by SPSS20.0. The results of this research can put forward some enlightenment and suggestions for the development of higher vocational colleges. The empirical research results are of great practical significance and academic value, which can provide theoretical reference and basis for the future strategic decision-making of higher vocational education and government departments
Wellness tourism activity development for thai elderly
For universities to be efficient and stay competitive, they need quality faculty members who are knowledgeable and skilled in teaching, research, and academic activities. In order to have higher faculty performance, universities must foster a supportive work environment and involve them in decision-making, so the faculty members feel empowered and be innovative at work. Essentially, the ability of university faculty members to learn the necessary work behaviors will be greatly influenced by their immediate supervisors. Hence, departmental unit leaders must possess certain leadership traits in order to promote innovative work behavior, engagement and help them perform effectively. Given this, transformational leadership is the prominent leadership style that is highly efficient and constructive to deeply engage their followers and motivate them to go above and beyond their transactional obligations. Despite some evidence about the benefits of transformational leadership in the educational context, there is little study that compares the impact of transformational leadership across countries employing samples from various countries. The first objective of this study is to analyze the effect of departmental units’ transformational leadership on (1) Innovative Work Behavior, (2) Employee Engagement, and (3) Job Performance of their subordinates. The second objective is to examine whether these benefits of transformational leadership could be mediated by (i) Innovative climate and (ii) Participative Decision Making. In addition, the study compares whether transformational leadership’s benefits on innovative climate, participative decision making, and psychological empowerment could be the same for employees in Bangladesh and Thailand, which differ in the levels of power distance. Survey data were collected from 243 faculty members from Bangladesh and 214 faculty members from Thailand. The study used Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to analyze the data. The results revealed that the departmental heads who exhibited transformational leadership were likely to foster a stronger innovative climate, encourage their members to participate more in decision making, and help their members develop higher psychological empowerment. The mediating effect findings also showed that innovative climates fostered by the departmental heads with transformational leadership tended to enhance the psychological empowerment of faculty members, making them demonstrate a higher level of innovative work behavior, better performance, and higher engagement. Furthermore, the moderating effect analysis showed that the impacts of transformational leadership on innovative climate and psychological empowerment were stronger for the faculty members of Thailand than for the faculty members of Bangladesh. The results offer new empirical evidence that expands the existing knowledge boundaries within transformational leadership literature. Furthermore, the findings of this study align with Sustainable Development Goal number 8 (SDG 8), which endeavors to promote productive employment, decent work, and economic development. Given that universities are the backbone of sustainable economic development, this research suggests that transformational leadership development should be considered as a policy to help the universities enhance competencies of their faculty members, who are the key driving force for achieving this goal
The effects of task-induced involvement load and language of glosses on L2 incidental vocabulary learning
Thesis (Ph. D. (Language and Communication))--National Institute of Development Administration, 2022The current study was motivated by the involvement load hypothesis (Hulstijn & Laufer, 2001), which predicts that the higher involvement an incidental vocabulary learning task induces, the more effective the task is in promoting second language (L1) vocabulary learning. Moreover, tasks with equal amounts of involvement loads should yield similar learning outcomes. The involvement load consists of the components of need, search, and evaluation, all of which can be present or absent in a task. Particularly relevant to the current study is the search component, which is absent when glosses for words unknown to second language (L2) are provided in the task. However, the hypothesis does not indicate whether language used in glosses (L1 and L2) affects the involvement load and L2 vocabulary learning. The current study aimed to investigate the possible interaction between task-induced involvement load and language used in gloss on incidental vocabulary learning in low proficiency EFL learners, who appear to gain more benefit from L1 gloss than L2 gloss in L2 vocabulary learning based on previous studies (e.g., Arpaci, 2016; Ertürk, 2016; Fang, 2009; Kongtawee & Suppapan, 2018). The study asked two research questions: (1) Do tasks with a higher level of involvement load promote greater vocabulary learning than tasks with a lower level of involvement load regardless of the language used in vocabulary glosses? and (2) Do tasks with an equal level of involvement load have a similar effect on vocabulary learning when the language used in glosses differs?
One hundred and twenty-eight EFL learners at low proficiency level were randomly divided into four groups. Each group was assigned to complete one of the four types of computer-based vocabulary learning tasks, including (a) reading comprehension with L1 glosses task, (b) reading comprehension with L2 glosses task, (c) reading and fill-in-the-blank with L1 glosses task and (d) reading and fill-in-the-blank with L2 glosses task. Each group completed the task during a two-week period. In the first week, participants completed a task developed from one reading text, and, a week later, they completed another task with the same learning condition as in the previous week but the task was developed from another reading text. Both reading texts contained the same 10 target words, which were unknown to the participants. After completing the task in the second week, participants were unexpectedly given immediate word recall posttests (i.e., active recall and passive recall), and, two weeks later, they completed the same tests as delayed posttests.
The findings indicated that the effect of task-induced involvement load was mediated by language used in glosses. That is, depending on whether language used in glosses, a task with a higher level of involvement load may not necessarily lead to better outcomes than a task with a lower level of involvement load, and two tasks with an equal amount of involvement load may lead to different outcomes. Moreover, the results revealed that low proficiency learners gained great benefits from the task with high involvement load and L1 gloss, which facilitated initial form-meaning connection of new L2 word. The findings add valuable insight into the involvement load hypothesis and provide implications for L2 incidental vocabulary learning and teaching

This research study aims to develop a Model for enhancing green practices in Thailand hotel business, specifically targeting small hotel operators. The study focuses on understanding green practices in the context of small hotels and identifying the factors that influence the implementation of these practices in Thailand. Through a quantitative approach, the study conducted in-depth interviews with 12 successful small hotel owners or managers who have effectively implemented green practices (best practices). The objective was to determine the components of green practices and identify key success factors based on the sample.
In addition, a quantitative survey was conducted using questionnaires administered to owners or managers of 318 small hotels located in the Active Beach Cluster (Chonburi, Rayong, Trad, and Chanthaburi). The aim was to analyze the factors that affect the implementation of green practices in small hotels in Thailand. The study findings, derived from literature reviews and interviews with hotel best practices, identified four key components of green practices: optimizing the utilization of community resources (UCR), integrating environmental concepts to gain a competitive advantage (CCA), developing and disseminating environmental awareness to customers (EAC), and protecting the environment (PE).
Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) was employed to analyze the 20 factors that influence green practices. The analysis revealed that 16 variables could be categorized into four factors: Green Strategic Management, Leadership, Key - Partners, and Employee Empowerment. The research findings indicate a positive relationship between these independent variables and the dependent variable of green practices, with a relatively high correlation coefficient value of 0.788 (R = 0.788). The coefficient of determination (R2) was 0.621, suggesting that the model explained 62 percent of the variance in the dependent variable of green practices.
Based on these results, the study proposes a model for enhancing green practices in the hotel business in Thailand, along with an action plan that aligns with the four elements of green practices. The model aims to enable small hotels to effectively adopt and implement green practices, thereby supporting their environmental goals

Attributes of creative tourism value proposition and guideline for the lower North Eastern province group 2
Thesis (Ph.D. (Integrated Tourism Management))--National Institute of Development Administration, 2021The purpose of this study were 1) to identify the measurement of creative tourists, 2) to construct the creative tourism value proposition from creative tourist’ perspective, 3) to analyze the differences of value proposition among creative tourist segments, 4) to assess destination capability in responding to value proposition of creative tourism, and 5) to develop a guideline for developing creative tourism product, activities, and destination to the Lower Northeastern Provinces Group 2. Mixed methods research was used in this study. Questionnaire was employed as the tool of quantitative research. The quantitative data were collected from 400 tourists visiting the world’s creative cities located in four provinces in Thailand including Phuket, Chiang Mai, Bangkok, and Sukhothai by using the quota and snowball sampling techniques. In addition, a semi-structured interview form was used to collect qualitative data from 15 key informants.
To respond to the research objective 1, 2, and 3, descriptive statistics, inferential statistics, Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA), and cluster analysis (K-means techniques) were employed to analyze the quantitative data of this study. To respond to the research objective 4 and 5, the content analysis was then used to analyze the qualitative data obtained from the in-dept interviews. The research results were revealed as follows.
1) This study found that the levels of creative tourists can be identified by measuring psychological and behavioral aspects of tourists’ opinions toward creative tourism participation. The level of creative tourist can be measured by identifying the mean value of tourists’ opinions and determine the level of creative tourist by applying the three levels of class interval (high, medium, and low levels) proposed in this study.
2) This study indicated that the creative tourism value proposition from creative tourist’ perspective includes four components, namely memorable and uniqueness experience (Eigen value = 7.330), authentic and engagement experience (Eigen value = 1.483), rareness and attractive experience (Eigen value = 1.180), and reliability and worthiness experience (Eigen value = 1.037).
3) By Analyzing the differences of value proposition among creative tourist segments, this study found that tourists with different levels of average monthly income and frequency of visit had different levels of expectation toward the value propositions (Demographic segment). Regarding geographic segment, creative tourists visiting different creative cities had different expectation toward value propositions. For psychology segment, tourists with level of consciousness/awareness had different expectation toward value propositions. Regarding behavior segment, tourists with different creative travel style had different expectation toward value propositions.
4) This study also assessed the destination capability in responding to value proposition of creative tourism. The results indicated that 1) memorable and uniqueness experience dimension consists of three items with high capability level, two items with medium capability level, and two items with low capability level. 2) authentic and engagement experience dimension includes two items with high capability level and 2 items with medium capability level. 3) rareness and attractive experience dimension includes three items with medium capability level. 4) reliable and worthiness experience dimension consists of two items of high capability level and one item with medium capability level.
5) Finally, this study proposed a guideline for developing creative tourism product, activities, and destination to the Lower Northeastern Provinces Group 2 which is so-called ‘S-A-G-E Model. The model comprises 1) Standard memorable and uniqueness experience: creative destination reputation, attractive special event/tradition, local friendliness and honesty of host community, availability of true authenticity, available creative place atmosphere, facilitation of creative experience, local community openness, 2) Alternative rareness and attractive experience: differentiation product and service, fascinating creative products and activities, novelty and useful products, 3) Good reliability and worthiness experience: delivering authenticity experience, sharing indigenous value, open co-creation experience, special learning and interaction with local, 4) Extraordinary Authentic and Engagement Experience: Effective Safety Destination, More Value for Money, Better Accessibility
A pairing-free identity-based cryptosystem
Thesis (Ph.D. (Computer Science and Information Systems))--National Institute of Development Administration, 2021ID-based cryptosystems (IBCs) allow the use of publicly identifiable information in public encryption keys, which reduces the overhead of certificate management and eliminates the need for a certificate authority in the public-key infrastructure. Up to now, bilinear pairing technology is usually used in ID-based paradigms. However, it is expensive in computation time and is unsuitable for mobile networks. Over recent years, the evolution of mobile devices has seen them transformed from a voice communication device to a daily life information center that is restricted by poor battery capacity and limited computation power. Thus, interest in pairing-free ID-based algorithms among researchers is growing. Herein, a pairing-free IBC consisting of ID-based encryption, digital signatures, and key exchange schemes is presented. All of the schemes use the same public and private key definitions, which makes IBC implementation straightforward. Proof of the correctness and security analysis of the scheme are provided. Furthermore, the performance of the proposed system is compared with well-known pairing-based systems and other well-known pairing-free ones
