Soundscape in North-Eastern part of Iasi City (Sararie - Ticau District)
This paper presents a complex study of noise levels from road traffic source and the variation during the seasons in an old residential area located in the north-eastern part of Iasi city, an important educational and cultural centre of the country.The study reveal the correlation between noise levels and social activities developed in the area: low number of inhabitants because of the holidays time in August and the resumption of the educational activity in autumn, including school start in September and of the university activity in October.After direct observations, the measurements were made with digital sound -level meter Quest Technologies, 1400 model in five hour intervals 7:00 - 8:00; 10:00 - 11:00; 13:30 - 14:30; 18:00 - 19:00; 19:00 - 20:00. The monitoring of Equivalent Continuous Noise Level (Leq) were made in 30 points located along the different type of roads in the second part of August - October 2009, with different admissible levels, showing the exceeding of the limit in 5 points in September and 8 points in October. It can be observed an important difference during the week in the monitoring period, between Monday to Friday and the week-end with lower values 59.64 - 6.5 dB (A) in August, 61.98 - 5.14 dB (A) in September, 63.9 - 5.3 dB (A) in October and among the four street categories with major differences between first category: 66.89 dB (A) and fourth category 47.69 dB (A), so that urban noise can be stratified according to a prior classification of a town`s streets due to their use and functional characteristics. Sound levels monitoring and statistical data processing (Pearson correlation coefficient, Tukey range test) sustain the fact that road traffic is main source of noise in the area, differentiated in correlation with street category, a decrease in noise with increasing street category, with insignificant differences between first and second street category thank to the best management and traffic control
Effect of some micronutrients on growth and yield of wheat and its leaves and grain content of iron and boron
Field studies were carried out during the growing season 2012-13 and 2013-14 at Banat`s university of agricultural sciences and veterinary medicine, Timisoara, Romania to study the effect of foliar Fe, B and Fe+B fertilizer at two growth stages on growth, yield and nutrient concentration in flag leaves and grains of wheat. The treatments were laid out in randomized complete block design (RCBD) with three replications. Two years average results show that treatment receiving 333g Fe ha-1+167g B ha-1 at both growth stages ZGS21+ZGS41 produced the highest plant height (86.0 cm), flag leaf area (28.66 cm2), chlorophyll content (58.0 SPAD value) and grain yield (518 gm m-2). All micronutrients (Fe, B and Fe+B) sprayed at both stages (ZGS21+ZGS41) significantly improved micronutrients concentration in wheat flag leaf and grains over control treatment

Mycorrhizal Circuit In The Root Of Avena Sativa
Oats has the capacity to develop a strong radicular biomass in the soil, alongside a good adaptability to cold climats, characters which favor it over other cereals in the areas with lower temperatures and high humidity. The simultaneous evolution with the symbiotic fungi allowed the premisis for a stronger installation of mychorrizal fungi, stimulated by the radicular exudate of the oats. The transfer of nutritive elements occurs between the fungi and plant, at the level of hyphal and arbuscular interfaces. The degree of mychorrization is greater in the senescent areas of the roots, while the transfer of nutritive elements thorugh the arbuscular circuit is higher in the freshly developed roots
The Specificity of Reaction of some Winter Wheat Genotypes in Environmental Conditions of Transylvanian Plane
A genotype is a genetic entity, governed by internal links between different quantitative or qualitative characters. The capacity of genotype to fight against to unfavorable conditions differ according to stability of that characters and is specific to genotype. The goal of this paper is to monitor and reveal the behavior of 15 varieties of winter wheat regarding the main components of grain yield in specific conditions of Transilvanian Plain (Turda) and different levels of fertilizations. The behavior of main components of grain yield (number of grain per spike, weight of grain per spike and thousand kernel weight) was different especially in the first experimental year when the climatic conditions were unfavorable to winter wheat crop mainly in the second part of plant vegetation. The different environment conditions and agro-technical measures used have determined some significant or very significant variation
Energy Efficiency of Biogas-Solar Plant
The consumption of thermal energy for heating the substrate in the process of biogas production represents a significant loss in the total energy balance that can be obtained from the biogas plant and further used as a produced energy. In addition, production process requires considerable additional energy spent for transport and biomass preparation as raw materials for biogas production. Thus, it is very important, among many concepts of biogas energy production, to choose the most convenient one. In practice, the plant for the biogas production is often integrated with a Combined Heat and Power Plant (CHP) for providing energy from biogas into a unique plant. The advantage of such a concept is the possibility of waste heat utilization, inevitably occurring in the drive heat engines, to meet the needs of heat consumption for the substrate heating. However, the energy efficiency of such a process is necessary to compare with the other processes efficiency of biogas energy utilization. For example, the use of solar energy to heat the substrate in conjunction with modern high efficient biogas boiler has been considered as an alternative CHP. Aiming to solve the aforesaid assignment adequate analytical expressions have been derived. A method application has been illustrated on the example of a small farm possessing manure from the pig farm and unused maize stalks residues from agricultural production. Analytical expressions were derived to determine the main biogas plant parameters such as the size and shape of the digester, the plant capacity, biogas yield, generated power strength and others. These features are necessary to determine the heat loss through the digester walls and thermal energy required for heating the substrate. It finally determines the energy utilization of biogas plant with CHP
CHARACTERIZATION OF SEVEN MEDICINAL PLANTS INCLUDED IN AN ORIGINAL FORMULA PROMEN, TO PREVENT PROSTATE DISEASES
Our experiments aimed the characterization of seven plants (1- nettle, 2-green tea, 3- Fluff with small flowers, 4- tomatoes, 5- underbrush, 6- pumpkinseeds, 7- sunflower seeds) used as ingredients to obtain a phytopharmaceuticalformula PROMEN, with anticancer potential against prostate. Liquidchromatography - mass spectrometry (LC (ESI +) QTOF MS) was used to evaluatethe main molecules which may be responsible for the antitumor/ preventive effects.There were identified 21 components in the final product PROMEN and individualplant extracts, used as ingredients. Finally, the bioactive compounds considered asbiomarkers for PROMEN product quality, are able to identify the various plantingredients. The results will be followed by further studies to assess the quality ofPROMEN as authorized nutraceutical product and its effect against prostatemetabolic dysfunction as a result of synergistic effects of plant ingredients
Productivity of Festuca rubra L. -Agrostis capillaris L. grasslands
European countries has changed and are focus on increasing productivity that prevailed during the early and middle twentieth century has now widened to incorporate environmental concerns. Today all concerns are related to the adaptation strategies to climate change on grassland. The replacement of nitrogen fertilizer with nitrogen derived from N2 fixation offers important economic and environmental advantages. Therefore, we need more productivity systems but all have to be in the same time “friendly with environment”. This is the reason why our experiment tries to determine the productivity of mountain grasslands and find answer equally scientific and practical for next generation. The experiment was placed after experimental technique method and includes six different fertilized treatments in four replications on mountain grasslands. Experiment is establish in Baisoara Commune, Cluj County. The experience includes four variants in three repetitions, which are: V1 - control variant, (unfertilized); V2 - variant fertilizer with 10 t/ha manure; V3 - variant fertilizer with 10 t/ha manure + 50N25P25K; V4 - variant fertilizer 20 t/ha manure; V5-variant fertilizer with 10 t/ha manure + 100N50P50K and V6-variant fertilized with 100N50P50K. After a short time period there are statistical assurances in treatments which are fertilized with high organic or mineral inputs. Large quantity of fertilizer improve productivity of grasslands

A STUDY ON THE QUALITY OF DRINKING WATER DISINFECTION IN SMALL SETTLEMENTS FROM STARA ZAGORA REGION, BULGARIA
Introduction: Providing safe drinking water is an integral part of public health and a major task for water supply companies and health control agencies alike. Poor quality disinfection of drinking water significantly increases the risk of water-borne epidemics. In Bulgaria, villages and small towns are affected more often by failures in the disinfection due to negligence from water supply employees and technological limitations. Aims: To determine the quality of drinking water disinfection by measuring significant indicators (free chlorine, E.coli and coliforms) in samples from villages in Stara Zagora region. Materials and Methods: Water samples were taken according to protocol directly from water taps in 50 villages in Stara Zagora region. Levels of free chlorine were measured using HACH DR/850 colorimeter and compatible reagents. 100 mL samples were inoculated with the medium Readycult®Coliforms 100. The samples were incubated in a thermostat at 37°C for 24 hours and E.coli were identified using Kovac`s reagent. Results: Only in 5 samples (10%) free chlorine was adequate to the established norm of 0.3-0.4 mg/L. In 30 villages the levels of free chlorine were below 0.3 mg/L and cannot guarantee drinking water safety. In 15 villages (30%) were found coliforms above the acceptable norms (0/100 mL). Nine of these samples were positive for E. coli. Conclusion: The results showed significant deviation from the legally established norms for drinking water safety. More tests will be done to determine whether these problems are incidental or permanent
