    Developing of the Guidance Book: Utilizing of Social Capital for Senior High Schools in Yogyakarta

    This research aims at developing social capital model to improve the quality of senior high school in Yogyakarta. In particular, it intends: (1) to develop a guidance book pertaining utilization of social capital; and (2) to underline the function of social capital to enhance the quality of education in senior high schools located in Yogyakarta. This is a research and development (RD) study. The research subjects are sociology teachers in that area. The data were collected through questionnaires, observations, interviews and document study, supported by field-notes/logbook. These were analysed qualitatively. The result of this research is that the guidance book contained mechanism to utilize social capital model for increasing the quality of education. The eligibility of this guidance book has been confirmed by a content expert and a media expert. In addition, the eligibility of the book has been validated by the field testing with the teachers

    English Literary Texts used in Form Four AND Five English Literature Component ‘Revisit’

    This study is designed to revisit ESL teachers’ perceptions towards the literary texts used in upper forms English literature component in 2007 in comparison to the texts used in 2016. It is also to identify the changes in the selection of the literary texts from the first to the current phase. The data were analysed based on these ESL teachers’ perceptions in terms of the topic/content, language, culture and authenticity found in the literary texts. In the attempt of data collection, semi-structured interview was designed with twelve questions which were divided into the four different criteria. A number of twenty five form four and five teachers from different schools within the state of Sarawak were interviewed. The data obtained were compared with the data collected from a parallel study done in 2007. The findings appeared to indicate that there were some significant similarities and differences in these teachers’ perceptions towards the two different sets of literary texts used in upper forms in 2007 and 2016 based on the stated criteria

    A Study of Pre-Service Teachers’ Critical Thinking on the Cell Biology Learning

    This study is a survey seeking to investigate critical thinking skills of university students in Cell Biology learning. The aim is to obtain explanation regarding pre-service teachers’ critical thinking skills from their learning process conducted during the even semester in the Academic Year of 2014-2015. The data were gathered by distributing a questionnaire and a critical thinking test. The questionnaire given to the students consists of items related to the learning process conduct, including model, media and learning strategies used. On the other hand, the test is made of three simple essay questions regarding the material discussed which is protein synthesis. The data from both the questionnaire and essay test were analyzed using simple descriptive. The findings from the survey have shown that a) the teaching and learning has used cooperative learning approach; b) it has used learning media such as books, animation, and Power Point slides; and c) the mean of the critical thinking test is 42.4. The critical thinking skills were based on the following indicators: (1) explanation 36.7; (2) analysis 58.8; and (3) drawing conclusions 31.7. The findings suggest that the critical thinking skill of the students is relatively low

    Islamic Accounting : Coherency between Musharaka and Mudharaba Financing on Syaria Rural Bank (SRB) towards SFAS 106 and 105

    Sharia Rural Bank is a financial institution of Islamic banking, which is the pattern of operations follows the principles of sharia or Islamic muamalah. In its operations there are several financing, such as musyaraka and mudharaba. Musharaka is a partnership contract between the owners of capital by mixing their capital for purposes of profit, whereas, mudaraba is the term refers to a form of business contract in which one party brings capital and the other personal effort. The proportionate share in profit is determined by mutual agreement. But the loss, if any, is borne only by the owner of the capital, in which case the entrepreneur gets nothing for his labour. to attain a compatability with Islamic Shari'a, needs cornerstone of laws, SFAS 106 and 105 is a benchmark that used as guidelines related to conformity accounting treatment of Musharaka and mudorobah financing on Sharia Rural Bank. The purpose of this article is to provide an understanding of accounting Musharaka and mudaraba, cornerstone of laws and accounting applications of musyaraka and mudharaba financing within Syaria Rural Bank. Second, describes SFAS 106 and 105, and third, suitability between Musharaka and Mudharaba Financing on Syaria Rural Bank (SRB) towards SFAS 106 and 105. This article literarture review was compiled based on reference books and journals. The study shows that Musharaka and mudaraba financing into Syaria Rural Banks does not necessarily always have coherency towards SFAS 106 and 105

    The Effect of SBI Interest Rate and Inflation on The Value of The Bond Issuance in Indonesia Stock Exchange

    The emission obligation in Indonesia Stock Exchange is influenced by SBI interest rate and inflation. SBI is a certificate of Bank Indonesia that denominated in Rupiah which was published by Bank Indonesia as a short timed debt recognition. Inflation is the increase in the price of goods and services in general where such goods and services is a basic requirement of society or the decline of the selling power of a country’s currency. The sample used in this research are SBI interest rate, inflation and the emission obligations in 2009-2013. Types of data used are secondary quantitative data monthly period of 2009-2013 which is obtained from the official website of Bank Indonesia and SEKI. Data analysis technique used is multiple linear regressions. The results of this study are: (1) there is a negative and significant relationship of SBI interest rate on the emission obligations, (2) there is a positive and significant relationship of inflation on the value of emissions obligations, (3) there is a simultaneous relationship of SBI interest rate and inflation on the emission obligation

    The Development of Inquiry-based Teaching Model to Enhance Critical Thinking Abilities on Circles in Junior High School

    This study aims to develop inquiry-based teaching model that can enhance students' critical thinking abilities. The teaching model was developed through four stages, namely: (1) Preliminary Investigation, (2) Design, (3) Realization, and (4) Test, Evaluation and Revision. Teaching model developed consisted of five components, namely: (1) the model purpose, (2) syntax, (3) reaction principle, (4) social system, and (5) support system. The model purpose was to enhance the critical thinking abilities. Syntax of inquiry-based teaching model consisted of six phases, namely: (1) Confronting problem, (2) Asking conjecture, (3) Collecting Data, (4) Formulating explanation, (5) Explaining conclusion, and (6) Conducting Reflection. The principle of reaction was to provide technical assistance, ask for a review, and provide feedback. The social system emphasized cooperative learning, the medium social structure, and discussion. Support system included learning instruments as well as the tools and materials supporting the model. Development of teaching model was expected to meet the criteria of validity, practicality, and effectiveness. The study also developed research instruments in accordance with the purpose of research. The results of expert assessment showed that the teaching model developed meet the criteria of validity with a value of 3.22 and can be implemented in the field. Field test did twice in SMP Negeri 2 Bojonegoro in a different class because an enhance students' critical thinking abilities at first test less significant, although the model was already practical. The result of teaching model realization was 3.12 so it can be said that the teaching model meets the criteria of practicality. The result of t-test analysis of the students' critical thinking abilities showed a p-value of 0.028. This meant that there has been an increase in students' critical thinking abilities significantly. The response of students to teaching model was positively associated with the percentage of 73.77%.     Era globalisasi saat ini memiliki beragam masalah yang semkin berkembang. Individu menghadapi permasalahan dengan dirinya sendiri, orang lain, maupun lingkungannya. Berkembangnya berbagai macam masalah diikuti pula solusi atau cara penyelesaian permasalahan tersebut, salah satunya dengan Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP). NLP merupakan program latihan yang memanfaatkan diri sendiri untuk menyelesaikan suatu permasalahan dengan melihat proses munculnya permasalahan tersebut. Hal ini sebagaimana fungsi konseling itu sendiri, yaitu memberikan perlakuan agar dapat berpikir rasional dan memiliki perasaan yang sesuai sehingga dapat merencanakan serta melaksanakan suatu tindakan yang produktif dan nomatif.     PERAN PENGAWAS BK UNTUK MENINGKATKAN PROFESIONALITAS GURU BIMBINGAN DAN KONSELING

    Pengawas merupakan salah satu tenaga kependidikan yang memegang peran strategis dalam meningkatkan profesionalitas guru, kepala sekolah, dan mutu pendidikan di sekolah. Tugas pokok pengawas adalah melakukan pengawasan akademik dan manajerial pada satuan pendidikan mulai tahap perencanaan program, pelaksanaan program, dan evaluasi supervisi. Guru BK sebagai bagian integral dari proses pendidikan yang akan mendukung keberhasilan siswa juga memperoleh pengawasan dari pengawas. Namun pola layanan bimbingan dan konseling berada diranah belajar, karir, dan pribadi sosial yang berbeda dari layanan guru bidang studi. Fakta di lapangan, pengawasan guru BK yang dilakukan pengawas justru bukan berasal dari rumpun ilmu bimbingan konseling sehingga peran pengawas dalam memberikan penilaian kinerja serta program guru BK menjadi kurang efektif. Dipandang perlu bagi para pemangku kepentingan untuk mempertimbangkan mengangkat pengawas khusus BK. Harapannya dengan adanya pengawas khusus BK yang berasal dari rumpun ilmu bimbingan konseling mampu menguasai permasalahan dan mampu meningkatkan profesionalitas guru BK dalam melaksanakan proses bimbingan dan konseling secara komprehensif.

    KONSELING MULTIBUDAYA DALAM PENANGGULANGAN RADIKALISME REMAJA

    Indonesia, sebagai negara multikultural dengan suku, agama, ajaran dan paham yang beragam berpeluang membuka kesempatan bagi berbagai paham untuk memengaruhinya. Dunia pendidikan menjadi salah satu target penyebaran benih radikalisme yang sangat potensial. Paham radikalisme cenderung mengabaikan aspek keragaman (uniformity) dan meniadakan kebhinekaan (plurality). Kondisi psikologis remaja merupakan  masa yang rentan dan sensitif terhadap pengaruh lingkungan. Pada masa ini, remaja identik dengan masa pencarian jati diri dan adanya keinginan untuk memantapkan filsafat hidupnya. Layanan bimbingan konseling merupakan salah satu layanan dalam dunia pendidikan yang sangat strategis dalam menanggulangi penyebaran benih radikalisme. Layanan konseling melalui konsep multibudaya dinilai sangat diperlukan dalam membentuk pribadi remaja yang mampu untuk saling menghormati dalam setiap perbedaan. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bermaksud untuk menunjukkan bahwa konseling multibudaya merupakan salah satu cara menumbuhkan sikap beradab peserta didik sehingga tidak terjebak pada pemahaman yang salah terhadap perbedaan.

    MUSIK DAN KONSELING: SEBUAH INOVASI DENGAN MENGINTEGRASIKAN SENI KREATIF DALAM KONSELING

    Berbagai permasalahan dalam pelaksanaan layanan konseling dialami konselor sekolah. Konselor belum mampu menerapkan konseling yang memiliki dampak yang signifikan bagi perubahan tingkah laku konseli. Penyebabnya adalah konselor melaksanakan layanan konseling dengan metode konvensional, sehingga konseli tidak tertarik terhadap layanan konseling. Salah satu usaha yang dapat dilakukan adalah konselor dapat mengintegrasikan musik sebagai salah satu bentuk seni kreatif dalam layanan konseling. Musik dapat mengungkapkan perasaan yang mungkin tidak dapat didefinisikan dengan kata-kata. Terdapat empat premis penggunaan musik dalam konseling, yaitu (1) meningkatkan interaksi dua individu, yaitu konselor dan konseli dalam hubungan konseling; (2) memberikan kesempatan konselor dan konseli untuk sosialisasi; (3) menciptakan suasana fasilitatif dalam konseling; dan (4) melayani berbagai tujuan dalam membantu individu menjadi lebih sadar, mampu, dan percaya diri. Penggunaan musik dalam konseling memiliki tiga teknik, yaitu production, reproduction, dan reception. Peluang integrasi musik dalam konseling seyogyanya dapat dimanfaatkan konselor untuk merancang program konseling yang berdaya guna dengan tujuan meningkatkan keberhasilan layanan konseling dalam membantu individu mengentaskan diri dari permasalahannya
