Haneef Asadi’s Naatia Poetry: حنیف اسعدی کی نعتیہ شاعری
Zikr-e-Khair-ul-Anam, published in 1984, is the first Naat collection of Haneef Asadi and represents a remarkable expression of devotion, love for the Holy Prophet (PBUH), and artistic excellence. The entire collection is imbued with sincere reverence, emotional intensity, and refined poetic craftsmanship. The book opens with Hamd and concludes with Durood and Salam, a structural arrangement that enhances its spiritual harmony and aesthetic value. The inclusion of two Hamds at the beginning and two beautifully composed Salams at the end adds to the literary and devotional richness of the work.
The collection consists of forty Naats and several introductory pieces, all characterized by fluency, rhythmic balance, and spiritual absorption. The Hamd and Salam share a similar metrical pattern and stanzaic structure, reflecting the poet’s technical mastery and conscious artistic design. Haneef Asadi’s distinctive style, particularly his preference for addressing the Prophet (PBUH) as “Aapؐ,” highlights his deep sense of reverence and respect.
Recognized as one of the leading Naat poets of his time in Karachi, Pakistan, and the broader Urdu-speaking world, Haneef Asadi later published another Naat collection titled Aapؐ. Some selected Naats from the first collection were also included in the second, indicating the poet’s special attachment to these compositions. Overall, Zikr-e-Khair-ul-Anam stands as a significant contribution to Urdu Naatia literature, reflecting spiritual devotion, formal discipline, and enduring poetic value
CEO DUALITY, BOARD INDEPENDENCE AND FIRM FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE: EVIDENCE FROM AN ASIAN EMERGING MARKET
This study explores the relationship between CEO duality, board independence, and firm financial performance of listed companies in Pakistan, an Asian emerging market with a unique institutional background, family-controlled business, larger board independence, and CEO duality in companies listed on the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX). We used a sample of 146 listed manufacturing companies for the period–2003-2012. The dynamic generalised method (GMM) is employed to estimate and address endogeneity issues. The study finds an insignificant association between CEO duality and firm financial performance in the absence of board independence. However, we observed a significant positive association between CEO duality and financial performance in the presence of large board independence. This study concludes that the association between CEO duality and firm financial performance is contingent on the being of outside directors on the board. This study extends the body of existing literature on CEO duality and board independence financial performance with reference to an emerging Asian market, more specifically Pakistan. Based on the results, it suggests that policymakers should pay particular attention to the quality of corporate governance, specifically board structure, while predicting financial performance
GENDER DISPARITIES IN PSYCHOPATHY, PTSD AND DEPRESSION AMONG ADULTS IN PAKISTAN: DEPRESSION AS MEDIATOR
With growing awareness and destigmatization of mental health issues, there\u27s an increasing recognition of the prevalence and impact of conditions like PTSD, psychopathy, and depression among adults. Understanding these conditions helps to address misconceptions and promote mental health literacy. Studying these factors helps to understand their impact and develop effective coping strategies and support systems. Gender disparities do not exist in isolation but intersect with other social determinants of health, such as age, socioeconomic status, education, and access to healthcare. For this purpose, sample of 381 adults between the ages of 18 and 45 was taken from different geographical region of Pakistan who experienced any kind of traumatic situation through snowball sampling. Pearson Product Correlation analysis was use to find correlation of demographics variables with study variables. Socioeconomic status differences were found out by independent t-test. Results of the study revealed that depression mediates the relationship between PTSD and psychopathy. Findings from this research can inform evidence-based policy recommendations aimed at reducing gender disparities in mental health outcomes and improving access to culturally appropriate mental health services in Pakistan. By amplifying the voices of marginalized groups and advocating for gender-sensitive policies, researchers can contribute to broader social change and promote mental health equity

Exploring the Interplay Between Exercise Duration and Effects on Lipid Profiles in Prediabetic Patients
Background: Prediabetes is a critical health condition characterized by elevated plasma glucose levels, this condition often coexists with lipid abnormalities, which can exacerbate cardiovascular risks. This study aims to explore the effects of varying exercise durations on lipid profiles and cardiorespiratory fitness in prediabetic individuals to identify optimal exercise durations that might improve health outcomes and prevent the progression to T2DM. Methods: A crossover trial was conducted with 25 middle-aged participants. They engaged in four different durations of exercise sessions (15, 30, 45, and 60 minutes) at Sports Research Unit, with lipid profile assessments at multiple time points (fasting, pre-exercise, 30 minutes post-exercise, and 60 minutes post-exercise). The primary outcomes measured were changes in cholesterol, triglycerides (TG), high-density lipoprotein (HDL), and low-density lipoprotein (LDL) and cardiorespiratory parameters. Results: The study found that longer exercise durations led to significant reductions in both fasting and pre-exercise triglyceride levels and a notable decrease in LDL levels in a dose-response manner with respect to duration of exercise. There was also a significant increase in HDL levels post-exercise with longer workouts. Notably, there was no significant change in cardiorespiratory parameters. Conclusion: These findings suggest that extended durations of aerobic exercise may be beneficial for improving lipid profiles in prediabetic individuals, potentially slowing down the progression towards type 2 diabetes mellitus and reducing cardiovascular risk. The study highlights the importance of tailored exercise recommendations in managing prediabetes and associated metabolic risks
