Cross-Border Data Flows and Privacy Rights: Reconciling International Norms with National Security
The rapid growth of digital technologies and globalization has made cross-border data flows a key driver of economic growth, innovation, and governance. However, these flows raise significant concerns over privacy and national security, creating tensions between international norms and domestic regulations. This study explores legal and policy frameworks governing cross-border data transfers, including international agreements like the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and APEC Cross-Border Privacy Rules, alongside national laws such as China’s Data Security Law and U.S. cross-border transfer rules. Using qualitative research, comparative legal analysis, and policy review, the study highlights challenges from divergent regulations, ethical concerns over privacy erosion, and compliance burdens for multinational entities. Findings emphasize that reconciling international data mobility with security and privacy requires multilateral cooperation, strong data protection mechanisms, transparency, and independent oversight. Balanced strategies are essential to ensure data flow, safeguard privacy, and mitigate security risks in the digital er
Behavioral Economics in Green Marketing: Impact of Consumer Behavior on Sustainable Business Practices in the Fashion Industry
Fashion industry has long been a significant contributor to environmental waste, yet there has been a shift towards eco-friendly practices as consumer awareness grows. This paper aims to explore how behavioural economics can be applied to ecological marketing interventions within the fashion industry, with a focus on green products and sustainable practices. It examines the role of cognitive biases, social norms, and emotional drivers in shaping consumer preferences for eco-friendly fashion. Additionally, the paper empirically investigates how selected fashion brands leverage these insights to foster climate-conscious purchasing behaviours, thereby contributing to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) and SDG 13 (Climate Action). By reviewing successful green marketing strategies and consumer behaviour, this paper provides valuable insights for businesses on implementing effective sustainable marketing strategies that align with global sustainability initiatives. The findings suggest that strategies such as eco-labeling, transparency, social proof, and emotional branding can help shape consumer behavior and contribute to global sustainability goals. The study highlights the importance of understanding consumer psychology and behavior in promoting sustainable fashion consumption
From Data to Decisions: Hyper Automation and Real-Time Analytics in Building Resilient Operations and Supply Chain Management
This research explores how hyper automation and real-time analytics can be used to create resilient operations and supply chain management in the manufacturing and logistic industries. Although hyper automation will be adopted faster, and by 2024, 79% of global supply chain organizations have deployed a hyper automation platform, most are finding it challenging to turn frenzied data streams into robust decision-making systems. This study used a concurrent mixed-methods study design and examined data collected on 167 operations and supply chain leaders in 92 multinational companies. With the use of the recently confirmed Hyper automation Resilience Index (HARI), the results indicate that organizations that attained the Resilience Maturity Level 4 had 63% fewer disruption recovery periods and 52% higher supply chain visibility than the baseline. On the other hand, immature hyper automation deployments were associated with 41% decision paralysis plus 37% operating organization trust. It resulted in five key design principles; real-time sensemaking architecture, autonomous decision protocols, resilience feedback loops, socio-technical governance, and dynamic capability orchestration. The article offers a tested diagnostic tool and roadmap of implementation to design hyper automation systems that transform data into resilient decisions. The future studies should consider longitudinal effects on the competitive advantage and industry-specific disruption patterns
Navigating Anxiety in the Teaching Practicum: Insights from Student Teachers’ Experiences
This study explored the nature of anxiety experienced by student teachers during their teaching practicum, focusing on its causes and the strategies used to manage it. Conducted as a qualitative case study across various public and private universities in District Peshawar, data were collected through in-depth interviews and reflective journals. The findings revealed that student teacher anxiety is primarily situation-specific, driven by six key factors: unfamiliarity with classroom settings, being observed by mentors or supervisors, perceived lack of teaching competence, pressure to meet expectations, limited English proficiency, and classroom management challenges. To cope with this anxiety, student teachers employed strategies such as adapting to their environment, preparing thoroughly, building strong relationships with mentors and students, boosting self-confidence, practicing positive thinking, and maintaining a calm, enthusiastic attitude. These findings underscore the need for greater support from universities and mentor teachers, recognizing anxiety as a natural part of the practicum experience and crucial to the professional growth of future educators
