Get PDFABSTRACTThis study aims to determine the extent to which the role of UNHCR in dealing with Syrian refugees in Turkey. UNHCR as an international organization with a special mandate in the handling of refugees globally, especially Syrian refugees, has an important role as humanitarian assistance and in capacity building. In addition, UNHCR also undertakes a variety of strategic cooperation with several other local / international organizations such as UNICEF, IOM, WFP, and AFAD. The role undertaken by UNHCR is urgently needed and important for Syrian refugees in Turkey. Providing protection for their safety and human rights in other countries must also be guaranteed for their sustainability to avoid uncomfortable actions from the country where the refugees are located. In addition, the cooperation undertaken by UNHCR with other local / international organizations can have a direct positive impact on refugees through the large number of humanitarian and humanitarian assistance and monitoring of the safety of Syrian refugees in Turkey.Keywords: International Organization, Role of International Organization, UNHCR, AFAD, Syrian Refugee

Get PDFABSTRACTIndonesia has signed an agreement IOTC (Indian Ocean Tuna Commission), this means that Indonesia has been a member of IOTC, contained in resolution 10/12 of IOTC agreement that protects mice that mean shark shark rat can not be arrested or merchantability. However, in reality the condition of fisheries in Indonesia is dominated by mainly shark shark catches mice. Efektifitas Program LIFE (Literacy Initiative For Empowerment) UNESCO Dalam Meningkatkan Human Development Index Republik Niger Tahun 2006–2015
Get PDFABSTRACTThe Literacy Initiative For Empowerment (LIFE) is a UNESCO framework set up to help increase literacy rates in 35 countries. The LIFE framework was born to achieve some of the goals set out in EFA (Education For All), Dakar in 2000. Dakar Goals 3 on meeting the learning needs of young and mature people, Dakar Goals 4 refers to an increase in adult literacy rates by up to 50% , and Dakar Goals 5 that fought for equal rights between men and women in education. Using concepts and theories about social welfare in the context of development of the state and human resources, this study focuses on proving the effectiveness of LIFE in enhancing human development of the Republic of Niger. Through explanative research method, this research yields data finding that LIFE framework is considered effective in improving human development index. Human development index is used to measure the quality of human resources ranging from knowledge through the level of literacy, life expectancy through population ratio, and quality of life standards that can be measured through GNI or income per capita.Keywords: LIFE, Republic of Niger, Literacy, Human Developmen

East region with an exotic market grew through the long process of economic and political modernization in the region. The process of modernization in Asia or Asian revival process has brought the region to the East became the center of the new economy in the world, which in the last two decades have shown a very impressive economic growth. This led to change trend in the global constellations that previously was dominatied by the Western countries. However, the dominance of the Western economy down since the onset of the financial crisis in 2008, this crisis is a sign of the start of the era of eastern oriented in the international world. Get PDFABSTRACTMany claims stating that the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI) is final system. Supporter of this argument suggests that the concept of the nation-state has the final. In fact, if viewed from its historical context, system nation-state only one trend of various systems that run by human. System of city-states, kingdoms, empires, and the caliphate is an example of systems that ever existed and became a trend. This suggests that the nation-state is not absolutely necessary for the human system. In addition, the contemporary trend suggests that the nation-state is increasingly irrelevant. Various regional and transnational cooperation of various actors between states and non-state has taken over some of the traditional role of the nation-state. Existence of EU institutions give the real illustration that regionalism system began to replace the nation-state. Contemporary religious movements also brought the idea to replace the nation-state system. Therefore , it is possible that alternative systems, both of which have roots tradition from the past or an entirely new system, will be able to replace the nation-state system. Peran Crisis Management Initiative (CMI) Dalam Resolusi Konflik Antara Gerakan Aceh Merdeka (GAM) dan Pemerintah Indonesia Tahun 2005-2012
Get PDFABSTRACTThis study aims to describe the role of the Crisis Management Initiative (CMI) in the resolution of conflict between the Free Aceh Movement (GAM) and the Indonesian government. Post-independence Indonesia in 1945, Aceh felt that they have been colonized by Indonesia to exploit the natural resources and that there is an economic inequality between Aceh and other areas in Indonesia. GAM is formed to fight against the Government of Indonesia (GoI) as the result of the disappointment that has been experienced by the people of Aceh. GAM seeks to liberate Aceh from Indonesia and to restore the rights of the deprived people of Aceh. This study discusses the role of CMI between the GAM-GoI using conflict resolution theory, which focuses on the process to transform a conflict into peace, and also the theory of non-governmental organization’s role, which focuses on the non-governmental organizations as the actors who are able to influence the conflict resolution. Overall, this research argues that the CMI's role in the conflict resolution between GAM-GoI is as mediators, facilitators and observers. The period of the study is limited from the 2005 to 2012. Pengaruh North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) terhadap Perekonomian Meksiko
Get PDFABSTRACTAt 1994, Mexico have a crisis result to domestic political instability and failures of the devaluation policy. Historically, the Mexican economic crisis had begin from 1980. The crisis in 1980 is result of Mexico’s foreign debt that fail to paid. Mexico made several attemps to rise from the economic crisis. One of the efforts is to be a member of NAFTA. To conform with NAFTA, Mexico changed some national policies. NAFTA is a regional institution for the North American that made by the government of the United States, Canada and Mexico. NAFTA implemented on January 1, 1994. NAFTA has three programs of cooperation, there are Free Trade Agreement, Environmental Cooperation and Labor Cooperation. NAFTA has gradually eliminate obstacles on cross-border trade in the region. NAFTA affected on Mexican economic growth because NAFTA has opened opportunity for Mexico to cooperate with the other NAFTA members. Conflict and Violence against Women and Girls: Gender-based Violence and the Boko Haram in Nigeria
Get PDFABSTRACTIn October 2000, the United Nations Security Council passed Resolution 1325 in which sexual violence was framed as a legitimate international peace and security issue. It brings to light the gender-dimension associated with problems faced by women and girls in time of armed conflict, especially with regards to the use of rape as a weapon of war. As the nature of war and armed conflict over the last two decades has shifted from predominantly inter-state to intra-state, this paper aims to provide another perspective to understanding violence against women in armed conflict at a domestic rather than international level. This paper focuses on the case of Boko Haram’s violence against women and girls in Nigeria, which was especially underscored by its kidnapping of the Chibok schoolgirls in 2014 that drew widespread outrage both locally and internationally. It explores how economic deprivation, institutional failures and culturally-institutionalised norms of Nigerian society goes hand-in-hand with Boko Haram’s anti-Western and anti-Christian ideology, alongside its changing operation tactics, in perpetuating violence against women and girls.Keywords: Sexual Violence, Armed Conflict, Boko Haram, Nigeria, Chibok Schoolgirls' Kidnappin
EUGENOL DARI DAUN CENGKEH MENGGUNAKAN METODE STEAM-HYDRO DISTILLATION MICROWAVE DENGAN VARIASI PERLAKUAN BAHAN DAN DAYA OPERASI
Get PDFPengambilan Eugenol dari daun cengkeh menjadi upaya untuk memanfaatkan daun cengkeh yang kerap kali dianggap sebagai sampah dan tidak memiliki nilai jual. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui proses pembuatan minyak atsiri dari daun cengkeh dengan variasi perlakuan bahan dalam memperoleh yield dan randemen yang maksimal dan mengetahui daya operasi dalam proses Steam Hydro Destilation Microwave. Metode yang digunakan untuk pengambilan Eugenol dari daun cengkeh yaitu metode Steam Hydro Destilation Microwave. Berdasarkan analisa, rendemen terbaik yaitu sebesar 1,65% didapatkan pada daya 260 watt dan pada perlakuan bahan diangin-anginkan. Kadar terbaik didapatkan pada perlakuan bahan yakni diangin anginkan dan pada daya 260 watt yaitu 92,67%. Sedangkan pada daya 230 watt, kadar Eugenol belum mencapai optimal dan pada daya 290 watt kadar Eugenol menurun dari hasil optimal. Daya operasi dan perlakuan bahan mempengaruhi kadar Eugenol yang dihasilkan karena pada daya tertentu Eugenol mencapai titik optimal dan perlakuan bahan yang paling baik adalah yang sedikit mengandung air.
