The Evaluation of Reemployment Programs:Between Impact Assessment and Theory-Based Approaches
In spite of a much improved labor market, the outcome of a leading evaluation report on reemployment programs in the Netherlands turned out negative. This result might be due to limitations of the evaluation method used by the researchers, who had to content themselves with a nonexperimental approach. Currently, for many evaluation researchers, the experimental method stands out as the superior design, especially when combined with a meta-analysis over several trials. We show, however, that experimental evaluations do not solve the uncertainties in this field. Meta-analyses of evaluation studies in Europe and the United States produced strikingly mixed results. Efforts to trace their diversity to variations in reemployment programs have not been very successful. This is mainly because of the “black box character” of many experimental evaluations, which offer little information about the content of the programs. Following “realistic evaluation,” we argue for a focus on the theories behind these programs in evaluation research. To this end, reemployment services are depicted in twelve core (mediating) mechanisms
Statistics for Aggregate Variationist Analyses
This chapter presents methods for the analysis of large aggregates and techniques that seek to identify groups together with their common speech habits. Jean Seguy examined the distribution of aggregate differences (in Gascogne) as a function of geography, displaying a sub‐linear curve, which John Nerbonne argues contradicts Peter Trudgill's gravity theory of dialect divergence. These early works motivate the aggregate perspective. Regression analyses have played a role in characterizing the relation between geographic distance and aggregate linguistic differences. Another approach, generalized additive modeling (GAM), is able to simultaneously detect the aggregate geographical pattern, whereas also identifying the importance of other relevant social and lexical predictors. The advantage of the GAM is that it allows one to directly incorporate the complex influence of geography on the aggregate patterns, whereas simultaneously considering the importance of other social and lexical variables.<br/
Re-Shaping Treaties while Balancing Interests of Stability and Change:Trends in the Amendment/Modification/Revision of Treaties
The present article aims to examine the trends in amendment/modification/revision (A/M/R) practices in international law, and how these reflect the constant tug-of-war between the competing interests of stability of international relations and the necessity to change in order to avoid stagnation. However, any study on trends, whether viewed as linear or circular concepts, requires a study of the drafting history of any existing generally applicable set of rules on A/M/R. For this reason, in Section II the drafting history of the relevant articles of the Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties (VCLT) will be examined in order to draw some initial conclusions as to the trends at that time regarding A/M/R. In Section III, interesting forms of A/M/R will be examined, which either emerged post-VCLT, or existed pre-VCLT but have shown a remarkable surge in application in the last few decades. Finally, in Section IV the A/M/R clauses of treaties will be statistically examined to reveal whether any conclusions arrived at the previous Sections can be confirmed or whether any additional trends can be identified. It goes without saying that when dealing with such a broad topic certain concessions, by necessity, have to be made. In Sections III and IV, the focus has been mainly on multilateral environmental agreements (MEAs). This is not because A/M/R practice in other fields of international law is devoid of interest, far from it. However, for the purposes of this Article it was considered better to adopt a ‘narrow and deep’ approach rather than a ‘broad and shallow’ one. MEAs were selected as the ideal focal point for several reasons. Firstly, because an examination of the A/M/R of all treaties would be impossible within the confines of this Article. Second, because MEAs due to their technical nature and their particular object and purpose seem to best reflect the constant battle between stability and change and finally, because there is a great number of MEAs from which useful statistical data can be drawn. <br/

This study investigates job satisfaction and its effects on organizational commitment, where procedural justice and distributive justice are used as mediation variables. The method used in this study is a case study on employees of educational institutions in Purwokerto. Questionnaires were given to 74 employees from the management level to the staff level as respondents. Data analysis technique used is the analysis of PLS (Partial Least Square) using SmartPLS 3.0. The results showed that Job Satisfaction has a significant effect on Procedural Justice and Distributive Justice, Procedural Justice has no significant effect on Commitment of Oganization, while Distributive Justice has a significant effect on Organizational Commitment. It also proves that distributive justice mediates the relationship between job satisfaction and organizational commitment, but procedural justice can not mediate the relationship between job satisfaction and organizational commitment.
Analisis Pengendalian Mutu Produk Air Minum Dalam Kemasan Pada Pd Mawadah Umulyatama Di Banjar Sari Metro Utara Kota Metro
Abstract The era of globalization has led to increased competition in various fields, especially in industry. With the increasing competition in the industrial world, many companies are focusing on improving the quality of their products. Based on the results of pre-survey disability rates in production is still relatively high where for each month more than 2.5% maximum tolerance limits set by the company. This, of course, reduces income from entrepreneurs where defective products will be segregated and destroyed for recycling. The formulation of the problem in this research is What type of product damage that occurs is still within the limits of tolerance, the amount of damage and what factors cause damage to the product. The purpose of this study is to know and analyze the types of damage that occurred and the order of the number of damage based on the cause and analyze the factors that cause damage to the product. The type of research is an analytic observational method is a method that aims to analyze the data collected. Data collection techniques use observation and documentation. The analytical tool used is using Chart chart analysis and Pareto Diagram. The results Based on Chart C chart the amount of damage that occurred is still within the limits of the company's tolerance. The number of product defects based on the order of the number of occurrences of the damage is the disability of the highest packing dent packaging, then the packaging leak, moss, dirty, less contents. To reduce the damage / defect in the production process need to do training of labor about good production process and correct, do periodic maintenance on machine and equipment, and change of machine and equipment to minimize defect product.
