    STRATEGI PENCEGAHAN BAHAYA KONTEN RADIKAL DAN PORNOGRAFI DI INTERNET

    Internet does not only provide positive information but also depict negative information and images such as radical and pornography. Previous studies found that most of young citizens have accessed online radical and pornography contents. This caused massive impacts on their behaviour and society life. Instead the negative impacts have been addressed in previous studies, little is known how those impacts should be eliminated. Through an intensive literature review approach, this study, therefore, is intended to provide insight on how the impacts of online radicalism and pornography should be prevented or eliminated. The author usd secondary data from various online data sources such as journals, mass media sites, and other relevant sites. The results show that online radical contents can trigger society to be radical and lack tolerant toward social life. Meanwhile, online pornography contents cause young generation to lack sensitive toward their marriage life and cause them to practice abnormal sexual life. This study also found that the impacts can be prevented and eliminated through increasing Muslim leaders and da’i roles in spreading intensive Islamic values into society, increasing government actor roles to monitor and block such contents, and providing training for society to block negative sites on their own. In conclusion,  online radical and pornography contents can impact society life regarding increasing violent and intolerant behavior, while online pornography contents can cause lack sexual sensitivity and increase violent toward women. However, such impacts can be prevented and eliminated through increasing da’i roles, increasing government actor roles in monitoring the sites, and improving citizen skills to block the sites

    This paper deals with the art as media of preaching in early childhood at the Early Childhood Education Institution of Kabelo Singgah-Singgani, Palu. The questions include (1) How does art become media of preaching in early childhood at this institution? (2) How is the implementation of art as media of preaching in early childhood at this institution? The result showed that, first, the art which is categorized as media of preaching is one which contains Islamic values. This Islamic art which is taught in this educational institution includes dances such as Kaili’s local dance called momonte, qasidah songs, Arabic calligraphy that contains Quranic verses, Hadith, and Islamic poetry. Various art instruments provided by this institution in supporting children’s activities comprise guitar, rebana (tambourine), kerincing (triangle), and sound system. The benefits of art gained by the children include giving joyful entertainment to children, introducing Islam through art, and habituating them with Islamic and local cultures. In addition, art will become a way to sharpen instinct and teach Islam with the tenderness of art

    Strengthening moderate Islam in the Archipelago is necessary today. Tug of war between religious radicalism and religious liberalism is one of the reasons that underlies this idea. In the middle of this feud, pesantren is expected to play an important role in strengthening religious ideas which are in accordance with the culture of Archipelago that is full of mercy. In this paper, I explore the role of Pesantren of As’adiyah Sengkang in building a moderate Islam in Bugis land. This paper shows that this pesantren has built and developed a moderate Islam in South Sulawesi through two ways; first, a pesantren network and Bugis Muslim scholars as  graduates of As’adiyah pesantren, who have been scattered  throughout Sulawesi island; second, religious doctrines of As’adiyah which are coloured with Ahlussunnah wal jama’ah either in faith, Islamic law, Islamic mysticism or method of preaching that promotes the principles of moderation (tawassuth), tolerance (tasamuh) and equilibrium (tawazun)

    This paper deals with how is Islamic preaching conducted to optimize the elderly's  religious consciousness at the nursing home Ar-Rahman, Kamonji, subdistrict of Palu Barat.  This research used a  qualitative-descriptive method with a sociological ad psychological approach. The findings show that the nursing home Ar-Rahman runs well. And the da'wah activity in this home is classified into two verbal and non- verbal preaching. Optimization of religious awareness for the elderlies is through strengthening the cooperation with Palu's local government and giving a professional guidance continously.  As a  local government's   partner,  financial support from the government and alms from society are necessary to optimize the infrastructures to support the activity of promoting religious awareness among the elderlies at this nursing home. However, in this process of optimization, it is not exhaustive enough because there is no systematic guidance which directs da'wah activity in optimizing religious awareness among the elderlies

    Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) is a big organization in Indonesia and it spreads to the entire areas in Indonesia from  Aceh to Papua. In central area of Indonesia, precisely in Banjarmasin, NU can exists and recruits a lot of followers who are generally Pesantren-graduates,  which are called   "Nahdliyyin".  This paper  employed a  science of  da'wah  approach with a  focus on  "NU's  pattern of  da'wah  in  Banjarmasin", which includes verbal,  action,  and written models of preaching  (da'wah  bil lisan,  bil hal wa bil kitab).  This showed that  NU  tends to use verbal  and action model of  da'wah  rather than the written one,  such as magazine,  newspaper,  and so on.  This differs from other Islamic organizations such as Muhammadiyah and Al-Irsyad in Banjarmasin. However, the contribution of NU in developing and spreading  da'wah and NU's mission is significant despite the fact that it is carried out personally and not on behalf of the organization to which the community can look and recognize it as NU's Islamic preaching

    Sayyid Idrus is a preacher in modern era in 1929. This era is also known as a period in which an idea of Islamic renewal had flourished in the Muslim world. It is not surprising that an idea of Islamic renewal has also influenced  Sayyid  Idrus's thought and preaching design, which in turn has a significant impact on the people of Palu in particular,  and  Central Sulawesi in general.  This paper used historical analysis  with science  of  da'wah  approach.  There are several  da'wah  steps taken by  Sayyid  Idrus:  (1)  he began his preaching through meeting with society's leading figures in Palu. This step opens the way for him to obtain some facilities for his preaching. As a  result,  his preaching which is traditionally carried out from house to house leads to the establishment of  Islamic schools; (2) From simple Islamic schools, he could build representative building to accommodate a  lot of students and also build orphanage.  These  schools  have  significantly  increased  until today; (3) He implemented some systems either in student admission as an object of da'wah (mad'u), system   of preaching, or content of preaching; (4) He carried out da'wah through modernizing education; (5) He conducted educational training for students and cadre formation  at the national or international levels

    SHI'AH: ANTARA KONTROVERSI DAN KONTRIBUSI TERHADAP DAKWAH ISLAM DI KOTA PALU

    This paper deals with Shi'ah in Palu with the focus on two main problems;  first,  how does  Shi'ah emerge as a contradictory school of thought with the perception of Muslim community in Palu? Second, how does Shi'ah contribute to Islamic preaching in Palu? This study used qualitative method with science of da'wah  approach.  The findings show that Shi'ah which have emerged and developed in Palu are  Ithna 'Ashariyyah and  Fatimiyyah.  Through  such organization as IJABI and ABI, Shi'ah used a new strategy of  Islamic preaching which is exclusive and constructive to show that Shi'ah is not a historical heritage which tends to make Shz'ah- Sunni conflict appear,  but tends to make friend with other schools of thought.  The strategy includes doing social activity which is directly felt by the public, without forcing them to be the followers of Shi'ah,  and building good relationship with such Sunni-Islamic organizations as Alkhairaat and Darul ad- Da'wah wa al-Irsyad (DDI)

    There are three social levels of  Islamic preacher in  Palu, ulama, ustaz and  guru mengaji. The emergence of 'ulama (muslim  scholars)  on the political stage is an epicenter  of social, cultural and economic dynamics. 'Ulama felt that they must interfere to guide Muslim community in politics in order to implement  Islamic  shari'a  according to the  Quran and Hadith. Political communication of Muslim preachers in Palu includes three steps: negotiation of political opportunity, consolidation  of supports for candidates, and image building of da'wah  message.  Muslim preachers such as ulama, ustaz and guru mengaji are always drawn into politics at the season of political glamour,  because they are considered as having loyal and pious mass basis
