Pendidikan Vokasi BTEC UK di Indonesia: Studi Fenomenologi Esensi Pengalaman Peserta Didik
Studying abroad, including in the United Kingdom is one of the aspirations for students and parents in Indonesia. In comparison to directly continuing study overseas, the availability of BTEC UK curriculum in Indonesia allows students to study for 20 months then continued their final year in the country they are planning to go to, including in the UK. Unfortunately, there is no record of the experience of students undergoing this curriculum in Indonesia, even though the curriculum already exists in Indonesia for more than ten years. This study then explores the motivations behind the decisions of students undergoing the BTEC curriculum in Indonesia, their experiences and the outcomes that occur after. Interviews with the 7 BTEC alumni in Indonesia were conducted and analyzed using qualitative phenomenology study. The results obtained that internal motivation is the main trigger whereas external motivation also applies, which is built up through social influence. The experience felt at the beginning was generally difficult to follow because the students were not used to the system, even though some felt excited about the curriculum learning system. In the middle and end of the semester, some of them feel more accustomed to it while some still find it difficult to follow this curriculum. The results in the form of a variety of positive attitudes including courage, self-confidence, and the development of communication skills
Hubungan antara Tipe Kepribadian Populer dengan Perilaku Asertif
The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between popular personality and assertive behavior of SMAN 2 Pujut Central of Lombok in Academic Year 2019/2020. The population in this study were all students of SMAN 2 Pujut totaling 360 students. The sampling technique uses population research techniques. Data collection techniques in this study used the questionnaire method as the main method while observation, interviews, and documentation as a complementary method. The analysis technique in this study uses the Product Moment Correlation formula. The results of this study obtained r count greater than r table (0.989> 0.233) then the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected while the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted at the 5% significance level. The conclusion in this study is there is a relationship between popular personality and assertive behavior of SMAN 2 Pujut in Academic Year 2019/2020, then the results of this study are significant
Pelatihan Pembuatan Masker Sebagai Upaya Antisipasi Penyebaran Covid-19 di Desa Anyar Kabupaten Lombok Utara
The Covid 19 pandemic is a serious problem that must be dealt with immediately. The use of masks is an effort to minimize transmission of viruses between humans. The high demand for masks, especially medical masks, is causing scarcity in the market. Therefore, cloth masks are needed as an alternative for the community to be used daily in the midst of activities facing health crises that occur. The purpose of this community service activity is to transfer sewing skills to the Anyar Village LPM partners who are members of the "Independent Beginner Group" while supporting the efforts of the village change program in producing 1000 pcs masks for the community. The implementation of the activities carried out for 2 weeks includes a site survey, problem analysis, discussion of determining the schedule of activities with the village and partners, socialization of activities to the target target, core activities include opening, training, mentoring and product delivery. The success of this activity was measured from the creation of the participant's skills so that the target of making 1000 masks was achieved. The response of partners to this activity was very well marked by the enthusiasm of the participants ie 100% attendance of participants arrived on time until the activity ended. The community service activity ended with handing over 1000 pcs of masks to the Head of Anyar Village to be distributed to the community
PENERAPAN METODE TALKING STICK UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KETERAMPILAN KOMUNIKASI DAN HASIL BELAJAR KOGNITIF SISWA
This study aims to determine the level of communication skills and cognitive learning outcomes of students who are taught through talking stick learning models. This research was carried out at Darul Hikmah Middle School, Pagutan Village, Mataram District, Mataram City in the academic year 2018/2019. This type of research is a PTK with a Cycle I and II research design. Design sampling is done randomly. The research sample is class VIII. Data communication results and cognitive learning outcomes, obtained using communication questionnaires and multiple choice tests. Research instruments in the form of questionnaires and tests of student learning outcomes. The results of the study of the level of communication skills of students in the first cycle obtained a classical percentage, namely: 1) 5% (always); 2) 20% (often); and 3) 75% (sometimes). Whereas in the second cycle the classical percentage is obtained, namely: 1) 5% (always); 2) 60% (often); and 3) 35% (sometimes). In the cognitive learning outcomes of students, there are significant differences with students who are taught through the talking stick method, in the first cycle the classical percentage is 55%, and the second cycle is 85% classical percentage. Based on the data obtained, it shows that there is an increase of 30%. Based on the results of data analysis, it can be concluded that through the application of the talking stick method in integrated science learning can improve communication skills and cognitive learning outcomes of eighth grade students at Darul Hikmah Middle School. This is because the talking stick method can invite students to play an active role and involve all the abilities of students they have
KEMELIMPAHAN IKAN AIR TAWAR DI DESA SUNGAI BAKAR KECAMATAN BAJUIN KABUPATEN TANAH LAUT
Tanah Laut District is a district that brings together mountain highlands with lowlying sea waters within a province in South Kalimantan. It makes the area that is rich in biological natural resources in the form of agricultural products and livestock products such as fish. This natural resource supported by its natural geographical conditions, such as the presence of sea and river in one area. Rivers in this region have biological richness in the form of freshwater fish. Therefore, a study conducted which aimed to describe the abundance of freshwater fish species in Sungai Bakar Village, Bajuin Sub-District, Tanah Laut District. The method used in this research is a descriptive method that is describing the results of research with observation techniques in the form of direct visits to the field. The study area divided into three zones, namely shallow, medium, and deep, with each region consisting of 10 points, collecting samples using a net and fishing line with repetition three times. Data analysis carried out qualitatively and quantitatively. The results showed that the highest or largest fish abundance was Anabas testudineus in zone A (shallow) 39.18%, zone B (medium) 48.92%, and zone C (deep) 42.59%. The lowest fish abundance was zone A (shallow) Clarias batrachus 8.20%, zone B Clarias batrachus (medium) 7.8%, and zone C Oreochromis niloticus, Barbodes gonionotus, and Macrones gulio (deep), with both same abundances at 17.13%
ANALISIS KEMAMPUAN PEMAHAMAN KONSEP MATEMATIS SISWA SEKOLAH MENENGAH PERTAMA BERDASARKAN GAYA KOGNITIF
Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa sekolah menengah pertama yang ditinjau dari gaya kognitif Field Independent (FI), Field Intermediate (FID), dan Field Dependent (FD). Subjek penelitian ini adalah adalah siswa MtsN Pandeglang 1 kelas IX-C berjumlahkan 20 siswa yang dikelompokkan berdasarkan gaya kognitif yang dimiliki oleh setiap siswa, setiap kelompok gaya kogitif diambil perwakilan 2 siswa dengan menggunakan metode purposive sampling untuk diukur kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematisnya. Kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis pada penelitian ini memiliki tujuh indikator. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa memiliki kesamaan dan perbedaan. Siswa dengan kelompok gaya kognitif Field Independent (FI) memiliki kesamaan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis, yaitu mereka mampu mencapai semua indikator yang terdapat pada kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis. Siswa dengan kelompok gaya kognitif Field Intermediate (FID) memiliki perbedaan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis, salah satu siswa dapat mencapai semua indikator dan siswa lainnya hanya memenuhi beberapa indikator kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa siswa yang termasuk dalam kelompol gaya kognitif yang sama belum tentu memiliki kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis yang sama. Siswa dengan kelompok gaya kognitif Field Dependent (FD) hanya sedikit indikator yang mampu dicapai oleh siswa dalam indikator kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis
Quizizz Website as an Online Assessment for English Teaching and Learning: Students’ Perspectives
This paper aimed to investigate the students’ perspectives toward the use of Quizizz as an online assessment tool for English teaching and learning, especially on a formative one. The research design of this study was descriptive qualitative. The subjects of the study were 20 students of Dynamic English Course. The data was collected by asking the students to fill the questionnaire. The data analysis was implementing the Likert Scale. The result of the study showed positive perspectives of the students toward the use of Quizizz. In conclusion, the students strongly agreed that Quizizz has an attractive display which is interesting and fun, students can’t cheat during the test, Quizizz creates a competitive atmosphere in the classroom, and Quizizz is better than the offline traditional test
Learning Tools with Inquiry Models Integrated of Character Education
This study aimed to describe the characteristics and validity of learning tools with inquiry models integrated of character education that is used in learning at junior high school level. The intended learning tools include syllabus, lesson plans, teaching materials, student worksheets, and scientific creativity test instruments. This research is an evaluative descriptive study that describes the characteristics and evaluates the quality of the validity of learning tools. The learning tools validation process involves three validators who validate the learning tools on aspects of content validity and construct validity. The validation results show that the validator's assessment of the learning framework developed in the aspects of content validity and construct validity are categorized as very valid with an average range of scores of ˃85%, with a percentage of agreement ˃75%. The results of this study can be used as a foundation that the learning tools with inquiry models integrated of character education can be implemented in the field
Peningkatan Keterampilan Menulis Karangan Deskripsi Melalui Metode Discovery dengan Menggunakan Media Gambar pada Mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia STKIP Pontianak
This study aims to improve students' writing skills on descriftive essay by using the Discovery method aided by the media image. This research was a type of classroom action research. The subjects of this study were students of the Indonesian Language and Literature Study Program STKIP Pontianak amounting to 35 people. The data collected were divided into two categories, namely quantitative and qualitative data. Techniques for collecting qualitative data, namely increasing learning activity activity data, used observation sheets and recording sheets, while for quantitative data collection used test instruments and student performance test. The data collected were described and analyzed using qualitative analysis techniques. The conclusions of the study illustrate the method of finding through image media has made students' writing skills in descriptive essay improved. Students give a good and enthusiastic response when using the discovery method through image media. Based on data and tests that have been done writing skills of students in writing descriptions before doing the action of 60.27%. Then after being given action in the first cycle, student skills reached 72% and in the second cycle student skills increased to 79%
IMPROVING WRITING SKILLS; AN IMPLEMENTATION OF “THINK PAIR SHARE” FOR ISLAMIC JUNIOR SCHOOLS STUDENTS
The objectives of this study are to capture the implementation of Think Pair Share (TPS) in teaching-learning process, to identify the improvement of the students' writing skills, and to find out the strengths and the weaknesses of Think Pair Share (TPS) in the teaching-learning process of the seventh-grade students of MTS AL Islahuddin Kediri. This research is a classroom action research. The researcher used qualitative and quantitative data. The qualitative data was interview and observation. The quantitative data was tested. The step to analyze the qualitative data used data reducing, data display, and conclusion drawing. The step to analyze the quantitative data used mean formula. The result of the research shows that there are positive improvements in either student" writing skills or the class situation during the teaching-learning process. It can be seen from the result of the test which is improved, from the students" writing score and the post-test conducted after the action. The mean scores of students" writing scores are increased. Besides, the situation of the class is more conducive before implementing it. From the class situations improvement, it can be drawn some strengths and the weaknesses of the Think Pair Share (TPS) implementation in writing class. The strengths include that the Think Pair Share (TPS) can build critical thinking, motivation, classroom interaction, easy to discuss, -self-confidence, and active learners. The weaknesses are required special attention in classroom use, and it needs a mediator
