The Saturation Degree of Road Segments between Pitu Riase Subdistrict and Pangkajene Sidrap Regency
This research aimed to analyze the degree of saturation (DS) of the road segments between Pitu Riase Subdistrict and Pangkajene, the capital of Sidenreng Rappang (Sidrap) Regency, and to explain the policy of the development and construction of the local transportation road segments of Pitu Riase Subdistrict. The research was conducted using survey techniques and direct interviews with the respondents who were directly related to the handling of road transportation. The research result indicated that the saturation degree of the primary arterial road segments of Pangkajene-Empagae and Lancirang-Tanrutedong had reached 0.77 and 0.54 with the service level of C and B, respectively. Meanwhile, in the local roads, the highest saturation degree was in the road segment of Sarawatu-Bilariawa with the value of 0.21, and the lowest saturation degree was in the road segment of Barukku-Compong with the value of 0.07, which was categorized as A level. The traffic growth showed the critical point of the capacity development of the local road for the growth of 2% at the road segment of Sarawatu-Bilariawa would occur in 2024. The development strategy of the local roads was to increase the budget allocation for the road maintenance, to add markers for the limitation of the vehicle loads, and to reconstruct the heavily damaged parts of the roads
Production Risk of Seaweed Cultivation in South Sulawesi: Comparison between Cobb-Douglas and Just-Pope Production Function
Fluctuation in production on farm of seaweed Eucheuma cottonii could be affected by climate, pests and diseases, input factors, management and socio-economic conditions of farmers. The objectives of this study were (1) analyzed determinants of productivity, (2) analyzed the factors that affected the risk of production, and (3) analyzed the factors that affected productivity after considering the risk of production. The samples used in this study were 210 seaweed farmers selected by using proportional random sampling method. Multiple linear regression model with Cobb-Douglas and Just-Pope production functions were used to analyze the data. The results showed that (1) Productivity of seaweed E. cottonii positively influenced by number of seeds, bond distance of seeds and labor; (2) area of lots, seeds and bond distance of seeds negatively effected the risk of production; and (3) area of lots, seeds, bond distance of seeds, labor, and experience of farmers positively effected the productivity after considering of risks whereas age of farmers affected negatively. Values of regression coefficient had significant affected the productivity of seaweed E.cottonii (Cobb-Douglas model) tended to decline after considering the risk of production (Just-Pope model). This implies that in analyzing seaweed productivity, it needs to consider the risks in the model

Combination of Silica Fume and Fly Ash in Concrete with Sulfuric Acid-Curing
Concrete needs as material in construction require innovation, one of which is in building materials. Innovation concrete is expected to have adequate strength quality, and good durability in certain environmental conditions. This study aims to determine the optimum content of the combination of silica fume and fly ash in acidic medium. In this study, the focus was on testing characteristics of concrete, such as compressive strength, split strength, and beam flexural strength. Silica fume used was constant with a value of 9%, and the variation in the content of fly ash was 0%, 9% and 11% of the weight of cement. The results of this study indicated that the variation of 9% SF + 11% FA was the optimum composition for the compressive strength with a different percentage between normal curing and sulfuric acid-curing of 3.31%. The variations of 9% SF + 9% FA was the optimum composition for the split strength and the beam flexural strength with a different percentage of 7.91% and 8.91%, respectively
