    Upholding the Impartiality of Judges in Judicial Systems

    Free and impartial justice is a characteristic and ideal of a constitutional State. In societies with a free and open judiciary system, individuals are permitted to challenge a judge's verdict, ability to remain impartial, and conduct. This article a doctrinal research with statute, comparative, and conceptual approaches. Meanwhile, data were analyzed descriptively, consisting of quotes. The results show that impartiality legal process (free from pressure, both physical and psychological and impartial) is a characteristic of a constitutional State. In the criminal justice system has received a full principle of free and impartial justice. At the lowest level, this principle in criminal justice is played by the judge as the core apparatus of judicial power, the principle of freedom and impartiality of judges in examining, hearing and deciding cases. The treatment in a crime must always be brought to the application of the principle of impartiality or treatment as referred in the principles of impartiality. Likewise, the principle of impartiality must not only be applied to suspects or defendants, it must be interpreted including the treatment of crown witnesses, victim witnesses and their families and also cannot be ignored about the existence of the community as legal subjects who have an interest in the implementation of public law

    BASE METAL OCCURRENCE IN INTRUSIVES ROCK FROM SASSAK REGION TORAJA PROVINCE SOUTH SULAWESI

    Study on the occurrence of base metals (Pb, Zn, Cu, Fe, Mn and Sc) in intrusive rocks at Sasak area of Toraja Regency, South Sulawesi Province has been conducted. The study aims to obtain information about the characteristic of the intrusive rocks and the concentration of base metals in the area along with the geological processes controlling the formation of these metals. The analytical method used in this study is petrographic analysis by observing ten intrusive rock samples to determine rock type, texture, structure and mineral composition. Base metal element concentration is obtained by XRF method on four samples. The results show that the intrusive rock types are diorite, grey-coloured in fresh and greyish-brown in weathered condition, holocrystalline and phaneritic texture, euhedral-subhedral, equigranular, massive structures with mineral compositions consisting of plagioclase, pyroxene, hornblende, biotite, small amount of quartz and opaque minerals. Quartz veins and some alteration minerals found in several samples indicate the presence of hydrothermal fluid and alteration process. The geochemical analysis shows that the base mental content of Pb ranges from 17 to 39 ppm, Cu (88 - 179 ppm), Fe (5.31 - 6.04%), Mn (610 - 1040 ppm), Zn (48 - 84 ppm) and Sc (8-10 ppm). The most enriched element is manganese (Mn) with the highest concentration found in sample ST 5 VEIN in the amount of 1040 ppm. The base metal found in intrusive rocks were formed through a hydrothermal process as evidenced by the presence of alteration minerals and sulfide minerals such as pyrite and chalcopyrite

    Customers' Switching Barrier on Switching Behavior from Conventional Banks to Sharia Banks

    This study aims to explore the reasons why conventional bank customers have not yet shifted to Islamic (sharia) banking in South Sulawesi, as well as identify the obstacles that have caused customers to remain conventional banks. The research subjects numbered 110 people. The research method uses Mixed Methods with sequential exploratory design. The first stage is a qualitative method to obtain data that is variable because the community has not yet switched to sharia banking. The second stage of the quantitative method is using Factor Analysis, to deepen the data and test the data so that the findings can be generalized. Data were collected by open and closed questionnaires and interviews, validity and reliability tests were carried out based on the analysis model used. The results of the analysis show that the factors that constrain people to move to Sharia banking are Fee Interest Factor, Information Factor, Location Factor, Relationship and Reputation Factor, Religiosity Factors, Product Factor, and Financial Risk Cost Factor. There are four findings of new factors as novelty of this study, namely Fee Interest Factors, Location Factors, Religiousity Factors, and Product Factors, as barriers to switch for the service industry, especially Sharia banking

    The Effect of Perceived Enjoyment on the Decision of Digital Payment Utilization in Millennial Generation

    Digital payment is a payment method using electronic media. Someone can make payment transactions with a short message service (SMS), internet banking, mobile banking, or electronic wallet. This study aimed to analyze the effect of perceived enjoyment on the decision to use digital payments on the millennial generation in Makassar city. Respondents in this study were citizens of Makassar who use digital payment. The analysis technique used was descriptive analysis and simple linear regression. The results showed that perceived enjoyment had a positive and significant effect on the Millennials’ decision to use digital payment. It implies that the higher perceived enjoyment felt by Millennials in Makassar City, the higher the chance of their decision to utilize digital payment in transactions

    Typology of Cocoa Value Chain Governance in West Sulawesi

    This paper discusses the value chain in cocoa marketing activities that occur in cocoa farmers to cocoa bean processing institutions. The typological approach is carried out to find out the relationships that are established in each chain starting from the farmers as the first chain (producers) to the processing institutions. An efficient marketing process is one of the objectives of cocoa marketing activities.  Value chain governance can illustrate typological coordination patterns that are related to each actor and show the type or type of governance type of each chain involved in marketing cocoa beans. Value chain governance (VCGs) is used to (1) identify the value chain and (2) determine the type of governance that is established in the cocoa market. So that we can know the conditions and types of governance that occur in the marketing of cocoa from the farmer to the final consumer. The method used is the analyze of VCGs by selecting a sample in a snowball sampling and calculating based on existing variables (complexity, codified, and capability). The results showed that through the VCGs approach which resulted in (1) there are 3 value chains with types of governance in cocoa marketing activities and (2) there are 3 value chains with types of governance, namely the value chain 1 (farmers–collectors-exporters) shows the Market type, value chain 2 (farmers-exporters) in Relational type, and value chian 3 in Hierarchy type (farmers-processing). Market type occurs if the value of complexity in low score, codification and capability gets a high score, Relational occurs if complexity and capability are in high value and the codification value is low, and Hierarchy occurs when the complexity is high but the codification and capability are low

    Farmer Technical Knowledge of Reproductive Technology and Training Interventions

    This study contributes to the improvement of knowledge of farmers based on reproductive technology training interventions in terms of knowing that signs of lust, how to administer hormones to cause uniformity of lust or estrus or prostaglandin, and to know the exterior shape of productive female beef cattle. This study uses a pre-test and post-test model approach through training interventions. Also using mixed method research is a methodology that combines qualitative and quantitative methods. This method allows researchers to present qualitative studies through descriptive explanations and also quantitatively through numbers, tables, graphs, charts and statistical data. For the measurement scale to quantify qualitative data, the measurement scale is Likert 3 levels. The results show that training interventions can improve the knowledge or skills and expertise of beef cattle farmers in terms of reproductive technology and minimize the dependence of farmers on extension workers

    Distribution Analysis of Nitrate and Phosphate in Coastal Area: Evidence from Pangkep River, South Sulawesi

    Nitrate and phosphate nutrient and the other oceanographical parameter are part of an indicator to evaluate the quality of the water environment. Our research aims to determine the nitrate and phosphate levels in the water and sediment along the Pangkep coastal area. The research was conducted in February 2018 in coastal Pangkep using five sampling stations. Physico-chemical parameters of the water, such as temperature, pH, salinity, and dissolved oxygen were measured directly, whereas nitrate and phosphate parameters were analyzed using a spectrophotometer. In addition, nitrate and phosphate parameters from the sediment were measured using an atomic absorption spectrophotometer. The sediment nitrate values ranged from 0.026-0.442 mg/L, and the water nitrate values ranged from 0.018-0.063 mg/L. Moreover, the phosphate values from sediment ranged from 0.019-0.306 mg/L, and the phosphate values from the water ranged from 0.13-0.056 mg/L. The results show decreasing values of nitrate and phosphate concentration in the water and sediment starting from the estuary to the sea. The highest values were indicated in the estuary, which represents a eutrophic condition in the environment. Nutrient enrichment in coral reefs occurs and mixes with oceanographic conditions resulting in oxygen depletion and changes in benthic community structure

    Preliminary Modeling of Characteristics of Current and Batimetry in the Confluence of Mahakam River and Karang Mumus River

    The movement of currents at the confluence of the Mahakam River and Karang Mumus River is highly influenced by tides and fluvial discharge can result in the movement of mass water. Research at low tide on January 21-22, 2019 at Spring tide. Data used current velocity, current direction, depth and bathymetric map from DISHIDROS of Indonesian Navy. The study aimed to compare the contours of the river measured against bathymetric map from DISHIDROS of Indonesian Navy and the current and vertically and horizontally flow patterns. Research used quantitative methods. Vertically and horizontally current distribution using Surfer software 11. The results of recording bathymetry data compared with bathymetric map from DISHIDROS of Indonesian Navy. the results of the study showed that the vertical velocity from upstream. they were before the confluence of rivers reached 0.11 m/s where the upper layer was down, the middle layer and the bottom layer were horizontal. Meanwhile, the current velocity at the confluence of rivers vertically showed the upper layer and bottom layer towards the middle layer as if it were mixing with its ranging from 0.02 - 0.32 m/s. while, the vertical velocity was larger in the downstream range of 0.04 - 0.38 m/s. the current velocity from upstream reached 1.1 m/s horizontally. they entered confluence of rivers a two-way flow was present. The flow on the right side of the curve was caused by flow output from the Karang Mumus River at a velocity of about 0.8 m/s, the flow on the left side still followed the river flow but the velocity decreased slightly 1 m/s. Then, in the downstream side by side the flow occurred until it merged into the straight part of the river channel from the velocity of 0.8 m/s to 1 m/s. the declining flow velocity at the confluence of the river can occur sediment deposition. It was also seen with bathymetry measured against the DISHIDROS map in 2011 where there was a decrease in depth or deposition along the confluence of rivers

    The Dogbone Depth Effect of Castellated Beam on Ductility Behavior

    Experimental study of reduced beam section on castellated beam-column was conducted to analyze ductility behavior of castellated beams with "dogbone" as RBS. This study used two types of test beams to examine the effect of "dogbone" made of IWF steel beams 150 x 75 x 5 x 7 mm and then become castellated beam IWF 225 x 75 x 5 x 7 mm. The first sample was RBSC-1 with 150 mm as its width and the second sample was RBSC-2 with 100 mm as its width and the distance of each is 100 mm from the face of the column. Two LVDT100 ware placed 30cm from the top of the column to measure displacement that will be occurred. The test was carried out using cyclic load consisting of 8 cycles where each cycle consisted of 3 sub-cycles. Each cycle is given a displacement of 5mm, 10mm, 15mm, 20mm, 40mm, 60mm, 80mm, and 100mm with ram speeds of 0.1 mm / sec. The results showed the capacity of the RBSC-1 showed an average ductility value of 4,143 and RBSC-2 the average ductility value was 4,791 with a difference of 13,525%. Â

    Optimization of Herbal Dryer System Based on Smart Fuzzy and Internet of Thing (IOT)

    The herbal medicine industry is currently growing rapidly with increasing public interest in herbal medicine in Indonesia. Medicinal plant dryers have been developed but are still using conventional methods. Proper drying method is very influential on the content of active ingredients found in plants. Each type of plant has a different response, there are some plants that are sensitive to direct sunlight and temperatures that are too high and some are not. This research will take part in producing an adaptive medicinal plant dryer product with the help of a microcontroller that will be used for the herbal medicine industry. In addition, with an intelligent system based on the Internet of Thing (IoT), this tool can be monitored and controlled remotely so that it can make it easier for users to know the current conditions of herbs that are being dried in order to get effective and efficient drying results. This research is expected to improve the quality of medicinal plants in accordance with the needs of the herbal medicine industry to produce good quality drugs according to the standards of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
