It further extends the discussion to incorporate the roles of academic institutions, the challenges in enforcement, and a more expansive legal framework. By drawing on international experiences and best practices, it formulates comprehensive and actionable suggestions for reforming China's academic misconduct regulations, aiming to address this issue effectively on both national and international levels

Legal Gaps in Personal Data Protection: Reforming Indonesia’s Population Administration Law

This study critically examines the existing legal framework for personal data protection within Indonesia’s population administration system. Through a normative legal research approach, it identifies significant regulatory gaps that leave personal information vulnerable to misuse and breaches. The results show that the current legal policies remain insufficient, as numerous aspects of personal data protection have yet to be explicitly regulated in the Population Administration Law. Despite the enactment of a national personal data protection law, its effectiveness is undermined by the lack of comprehensive integration into the Population Administration Law. This research proposes reconstructing the legal framework to address essential aspects of data management—such as collection, utilization, safeguarding, exchange, and misuse prevention—while establishing clear access rights, prohibitions on unauthorized activities, and a structured system of proportional sanctions. By incorporating specialized legal provisions and aligning with international best practices, these reforms would strengthen Indonesia’s data protection framework, enhance public trust, and reinforce the government’s role in safeguarding citizens’ personal information

Spatial Analysis of Vegetation Condition in the El Nino Phase of 2023 in Parangloe District, Gowa Regency

The El Nino phenomenon is a climate anomaly that has a significant impact on environmental  conditions,  including  decreased  rainfall  and  vegetation degradation  in  tropical regions  such  as  Indonesia.  This  study  aims  to  analyse vegetation conditions during the El Nino phase in 2023 in Parangloe District, Gowa  Regency  spatially  using  a  remote  sensing  approach.  The  data  used includes  satellite  images  to  calculate  the  Normalised  Difference  Vegetation Index (NDVI). This research shows that the El Nino phenomenon in 2023 has a significant  impact  on  vegetation  conditions  in  Parangloe  District,  Gowa Regency.  There  was  a  decrease  in  the  area  with  high  vegetation  index  from 13,155 hectares in July, to 7,477 hectares in September, which means a decrease of  5,678  hectares  or  about  43%.  In  contrast,  the  area  with  no  vegetation increased drastically from 725 hectares to 3,040 hectares. In addition, the area of low vegetation also increased from 607 hectares to 2,215 hectares, reflecting the  widespread  ecological  stress  caused  by  the  drought.  This  decline  in vegetation not only impacts the ecological function of the area, but also has the potential  to  disrupt  local  food  security  and  increase  vulnerability  to environmental disasters such as erosion and extreme drought

The Role of Digital Technology in Enhancing Public Service Efficiency in Indonesia

This study presents a systematic literature review on the role of digital technology in enhancing the efficiency of public service delivery in Indonesia. Drawing on 47 peer-reviewed articles published between 2019 and 2024, the review adopts a thematic synthesis approach guided by the PRISMA framework. Articles were identified through structured database searches, screened for relevance, and organized into three core themes: technology implementation, policy and institutional adaptation, and citizen engagement. The findings reveal that while digital infrastructure and system integration are essential enablers, successful implementation also depends on adaptive governance, coherent policy frameworks, and public trust. Although national initiatives have introduced centralized platforms and automation, regional governments continue to face structural, technical, and socio-demographic challenges. The review also highlights persistent gaps, including the lack of longitudinal evaluations, limited inter-agency collaboration, and underutilization of citizen feedback in policymaking. This study contributes to the literature on digital governance by proposing a conceptual framework that integrates technical, institutional, and societal dimensions of digital service reform. It also offers practical recommendations for aligning technological innovation with inclusive and responsive governance. Future research should examine the sustainability of sub-national reforms and explore strategies to improve digital equity and participatory policymaking

The Impact of Digital Transformation and Innovation Capability on Competitive Advantage: The Mediating Role of Market Orientation in Emerging Markets

    No full text
This study aims to examine the impact of digital transformation and innovation capability on competitive advantage, with market orientation as a mediating variable, particularly within the dynamic conditions of emerging markets. Using a quantitative, cross-sectional design, data were collected from 230 mid- and senior-level managers in Indonesian firms across various industries. The study employed Structural Equation Modeling with Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) to test both direct and mediating relationships. Results show that both digital transformation and innovation capability significantly enhance market orientation. In turn, market orientation positively influences competitive advantage and partially mediates the relationships between the antecedent capabilities and performance. These findings underscore market orientation’s central role in translating internal capabilities into strategic outcomes. This study contributes to strategic management literature by integrating digital, innovative, and behavioral resources into a coherent model of competitive advantage. It also addresses a gap in research on the interplay among these constructs in emerging market contexts

This study investigates the influence of gold price perceptions on investment motivation among Generation Z in Indonesia. Adopting a behavioral perspective, the research applies the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) to explain how external economic signals such as gold price changes shape investment intentions. A quantitative explanatory design was used, with data collected from 62 Gen Z respondents through purposive sampling. Respondents completed a structured online questionnaire with items adapted from prior validated studies. Results of a simple linear regression analysis reveal that gold prices are significantly associated with increased investment motivation (R² = 0.392; p < 0.001), explaining 39.2% of the variance. These findings highlight the role of perceived financial stability and safe-haven value in shaping youth investment preferences. The study contributes to behavioral finance by providing empirical insights into Gen Z’s decision-making drivers in emerging markets. Implications are discussed for financial educators, policymakers, and digital investment platforms seeking to promote informed investment behavior among young adults

Belief Control as Mediator Between Environmental Strategy and Eco-Practices in South Sulawesi Firms

Departing from eco-control and competitive environmental strategy research that foregrounds diagnostic controls and advanced-economy settings, this study positions beliefs control as the mechanism translating environmental intent into practice within provincial manufacturing shaped by Indonesia’s PROPER public disclosure and Green Industry certification. A cross-sectional survey of 125 managerial respondents (operations, production, marketing, sustainability) from multi-sector manufacturing firms in South Sulawesi, Indonesia, analysed via PLS-SEM, tests mediation and predictive relevance. Beliefs control strongly predicts eco-marketing (β = 0.76, p < 0.001) and eco-production (β = 0.74, p < 0.001) and mediates the effect of eco-efficiency intent on both practices (indirect β ≈ 0.42 and 0.40, p < 0.05); the path from eco-branding intent to beliefs control is not significant (β = 0.24, p = 0.24). Explained variance is high (R² = 0.68, 0.71, 0.64). Codifying purpose through mission statements, leadership communication, and recognition systems offers an actionable route to accelerate credible eco-practices, strengthen compliance, and support cost discipline and competitive positioning. Situated in Indonesian manufacturing and in developing-region conditions, the evidence informs managerial decision-making and environmental governance in emerging markets
