Women's international mobility in agriculture-based rural areas represents a socio-economic transformation that reflects evolving gender roles within farming households. This study investigates the historical trajectory and underlying dynamics of female international migration as a livelihood diversification strategy in the Cikalong District, Tasikmalaya Regency, Indonesia. Utilizing a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews with former migrant workers, labor brokers, local officials, and community leaders. Findings indicate that economic hardship was the primary driver of women's mobility. Initially confined to domestic roles, women began assuming the role of primary income earners by migrating abroad, predominantly as domestic workers. The success of early migrants catalyzed further migration, creating a self-reinforcing cycle. Beyond enhancing household economic resilience, this mobility reshaped intra-household gender relations. The study emphasizes the strategic role of women in rural livelihood systems and calls for inclusive, gender-sensitive rural development policies

This study aimed to (1) identify the level of effectiveness of the Farmer Card program and (2) analyze factors that influenced its effectiveness in Penambuhan Village, Margorejo District, Pati Regency. The research was conducted from September to October 2024. The survey method was used, with samples selected through proportional random sampling. Quantitative data analysis was applied. Independent variables included farmers’ age, knowledge, availability of facilities and infrastructure, participation, and the role of extension workers. The dependent variable was the program’s effectiveness. The results showed that the Farmer Card program in Penambuhan Village ran effectively. However, the dimension measuring program success was categorized as less effective, while target achievement and satisfaction were in the effective category. Farmers’ age, knowledge, availability of facilities and infrastructure, participation, and extension workers’ roles simultaneously influenced the program’s effectiveness. Partially, farmers’ knowledge, facilities and infrastructure, and participation affected effectiveness, while age and extension workers’ roles did not. The study recommended that extension workers provide socialization and assistance to farmers about the Farmer Card program beyond subsidized fertilizers, including business credit applications, saving, and direct sales of harvests. Creating a WhatsApp group was also suggested to facilitate communication between farmer groups and extension workers

The Government Purchasing Price (HPP) is a key policy instrument for stabilizing food prices in Indonesia, particularly aimed at ensuring farm-level income by regulating the price of Dry Harvested Unhusked Rice (GKP). However, its effectiveness in influencing GKP prices remains underexplored across different administrations and over time. This study applies a quantitative approach using multiple linear regression analysis based on monthly data from January 2008 to November 2024. The models compare two presidential periods: President SBY (2008–2014) and President Jokowi (2014–2024). Independent variables include time (in months), HPP, and the input price index paid by farmers. The regression results show that during the SBY administration, HPP had no significant effect on GKP prices, although GKP prices consistently increased over time. In contrast, during Jokowi’s administration, HPP significantly and positively affected GKP prices, yet time trends indicated a declining price pattern. Moreover, increases in input costs strongly influenced the rise in GKP, suggesting that price gains did not necessarily translate to improved farmer welfare. Under SBY, HPP served more as a price floor in a relatively stable market. Under Jokowi, although more active, the HPP was overshadowed by escalating production costs. Therefore, HPP’s effectiveness in enhancing farmer welfare depends on its integration with input cost policies, infrastructure support, and adaptive market interventions

Orchid farming has the potential to be developed, because orchids have attractive shapes, colors, and aromas. Despite having great potential, orchid farmers face various obstacles such as productivity fluctuations, land conversion, and market problems that threaten the sustainability of their farming businesses. This study aims to identify factors that influence farmers' decisions in Pamulang District, South Tangerang City, in cultivating orchids. The factors studied include internal factors such as age, education, and experience, as well as external factors such as income, land area, capital, ease of cultivation, market opportunities, farming risks, and the role of the government. The method used is quantitative research with the Rasch Model, where the research sample consisted of 32 orchid farmers. The results of the study showed that ease of obtaining production facilities, availability of land suitable for orchids, and stable market demand are the main factors that encourage farmers to continue their farming businesses. However, the problem of unstable income and difficulty in obtaining capital from external parties, including the government, are the main obstacles. Farmers also consider formal education to have no significant effect on orchid cultivation, which is more influenced by practical experience and non-formal extension. Based on these results, it is recommended that the government provide capital assistance and production facilities with simpler and faster procedures. In addition, improving the quality of extension and training for farmers is also important to increase productivity, especially in the midst of limited land availability
