    DIFFERENCES IN AGGRESSIVE BEHAVIOR BETWEEN ACTIVE STUDENTS AND INACTIVE IN EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES AT JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL 3 OF WAY JEPARA. Aggressive behavior in adolescence is often shown with courageous attitude against parents and teachers, mischief, crime and acts aggressively. This study will look at differences in aggressive behavior between active and inactive students in extracurricular activities in Junior high School 3 of Way Jepara. The method of this study is comparative research, where the instrument that used for collecting the data is scale of aggressive behavior. The population of this research is eighth and ninth grade students of Junior High School 3 of Way Jepara in East Lampung that consist of 180 students. The sample is took by Disproportionate Stratified random Sampling, then it is obtained the sample of 124 of active extra-curricular students, whereas, the non-active extra-curricular student that consist 56. Hypotheses assessment is conducted by independent sample t-test where obtain calculated value of aggressive behavior in 1.360 with significance level of 0.015. Because p < 0.05 so Ho refused.     DISRUPTIVE BEHAVIOR AND TEACHER TREATMENTS CONFIGURATION. This study aims to determine the theoretical concepts, acceptability, practicability, and effectiveness of guidelines for rational emotive counseling, homework assignment techniques, and confrontation techniques. This research is development research with steps: design preparation, design validation, design testing, and design revision. Questionnaire and interview methods collected data, and the data collected were analyzed using descriptive analysis techniques. The results showed: (1) Theoretically rational emotive counseling procedures homework assignment techniques and confrontation techniques include steps: showing the counselee that the problem faced is related to irrational beliefs, bringing the counselee to the opposite stage of consciousness by showing that the counselee is maintained emotional disturbances to stay active by always thinking illogically, correcting the thoughts of the counselee and leaving irrational ideas, challenging the counselee to develop rational philosophies. The difference between the two lies in the things done at each step;  (2) Acceptability of rational emotive counseling guidelines for homework assignment techniques and confrontation techniques; (3) The practicality of rational emotive counseling guidelines for homework assignment techniques and confrontation techniques is very high; (4) The effectiveness of rational emotive counseling guidelines for homework assignment techniques and confrontation techniques is very high

    IDENTIFICATION OF LEARNING STYLES BASED FROM SPECIAL TALENT STUDENT PROGRAM STUDY OF GUIDANCE AND COUNSELING UM METRO. Pragmatism of educational practice can be seen from learning process without based of individual characteristics. This condition appears in the selection of methods and strategies of lstudents who tend to be oriented towards teacher oriented. In learning identification the characteristics of students are very poorly identified by teachers. Based from the problems, it is very important to study and identify student talents and student learning styles. Through this research, it is expected to be a reference in the development of the learning process based of special talents and student learning styles. This study aims to identify the characteristics of talent, learning styles, and the relationship between talent and learning styles in students. The method used is correlational research. Data collection uses aptitude tests and learning style scales.The results of research is majority students guidance and counseling study program of UM Metro have special talent is vebal talent, dan characteristics of style learning is visual learning. Thus the results of the study also show that the majority of students who have a verbal talent are also types of visual learning

    EMPATHY PROFILE OF UNIVERSITAS MATHLA’UL ANWAR BANTEN STUDENTS. This study aims to reveal the empathy of Universitas Mathla’ul Anwar Banten students. The method used in this research is descriptive with the type of survey. The population of this study was students of Mathla'ul Anwar Banten University. The validity test of the research instrument items was carried out with the Product Moment correlation formula. The results of the validity test of 20 items resulted in 17 valid items and 3 drop items. Invalid statement items are changed and the editor corrects them to become new statements. The reliability test with the Cronbach Alpha formula obtained research results 0.803, which means that the instrument has a very high level of reliability. The results showed that the level of student empathy was high (64.18%), moderate (35.82%), and low (0%). The results of this study indicate that Mathla'ul Anwar University students have a high level of empathy. This is indicated by the more dominant results obtained in the medium category (64.18%). Research recommendations are shown to guidance and counseling students to improve empathy. Most of the students' empathy is still at a high level. However, there are still students who have moderate empathy so that this research can be used as the basis for developing the empathy ability of each student

    REDUCING STUDENTS’ ANXIETY THROUGH COGNITIVE BEHAVIORAL COUNSELING. Anxiety experienced by students at school can later affect their academic success at school. For this reason, this study tries to describe students' anxiety and efforts to reduce them through cognitive behavioral counseling. Anxiety in students can be interpreted as a condition that is full of worries and fears, feeling depressed, not calm, feeling guilty, feeling insecure and chaotic-minded accompanied by physical tension to certain situations. The characteristics of students who experience anxiety are divided into three parts, namely physical, behavioral and cognitive. The steps to reduce student anxiety through cognitive behavioral counseling are 1) identifying and knowing the level of student anxiety, 2) carrying out cognitive behavioral counseling, namely: initiating counseling, discussing content in the session, checking the events of the previous week, Core counseling , assigning tasks for the next meeting, and evaluating the session. Then, 3) Follow up. This article is expected to contribute as a scientific literature in the field of guidance and counseling, especially for school counselor in dealing with student anxiety through counseling services using a cognitive behavioral approach at school

    SELF-EFFICACY AND ACADEMIC BURNOUT FOR WORKING STUDENTS. Academic burnout refers to stress, burden or other psychological factors because the learning process is followed by students so that it shows the state of emotional fatigue, tendency to depersonalization, and feeling of low personal achievement. There are individual factors that can affect burnout; one of the individual factors that can influence academic burnout is academic self-efficacy. This study aims to determine the relationship between academic self-efficacy and academic burnout in working students. Based on the results of research and discussion, it can be concluded that there is a negative relationship between academic self-efficacy and academic burnout on students who work. This means that the higher academic self-efficacy, the lower academic burnout in working students, conversely the lower of Academic self-efficacy, the higher academic burnout in working students

    RASCH MODELING ANALYSIS: SCALE OF STUDENT PEACE OF MINDSET. This study aims to develop a scale of early detection of peace thinking in the context of standardized Indonesian culture. The study using a descriptive method for 1118 students from several public high schools in Bandung through Rasch modeling analysis. It is reported that all items are correctly perceived by students, with excellent internal consistency and good unidimensionality. The implication shows that there is still a need for further scale research based on a more diverse level of education units, including among santri (student) in Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) so that the results are conclusive and comprehensive, with urban or rural backgrounds. This research explains a dynamic, progress, and a second stage that is good in developing TNT's scale into an ethnically diverse Indonesian context

    DIMENSIONS OF EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION IN GUIDANCE AND COUNSELING RELATIONS. The growth of effective communication between guidance and counseling teachers and students is a facility to achieve the goal of guidance and counseling in schools. Quality of communication will psychologically stimulate students to involve themselves intensively in the process of providing treatment. This condition will encourage students to open themselves to understand the personal characteristics, and willing to work together to explore various alternatives for self-development, making choices and decisions, and solving their problems. Students who are less open to guidance and counseling teachers are motivated by various factors, including allegedly by low professional competence of guidance and counseling teachers in developing communication that facilitates the provision of assistance for students. Thus, guidance and counseling teachers need to have communication competence in order to improve the effectiveness of aid in guidance and counseling services. The dimensions of the communication shall include: (a) the empathic behavior; (b) the acceptance and respect of students; (c) the warmth and attention; (d) openness and sincerity; and (e) concreteness and specificity of expression

    Based on the phenomenon occurred at all level of education, it was found that the circumstances of the schools were unsafe and uncomfortable for students and academics. There were a number of direct and indirect violence carried out at schools and it had impacts on physical and psychological health of students. There was no existence of positive peace in the form of structural violence, socio-cultural violence, ecological violence and negative peace such as tribal warfare, fights and aggression. What happened actually although the nature of man in conscience had the basic harmony and desire to live together in tranquility? Therefore, the common perception of the concept of peace and peace pedagogy was needed to be created. Teachers as peace educators, thus, played an important role as a figure that had the personality of peace in the classroom and at school. The teacher as a peaceful personality consisted of three components: peaceful states, attitudes, and behavior that were consistent across one’s life spaces and life span.
