Get PDFDEVELOPMENT OF INITIATIVES, INDEPENDENCE, AND RESPONSIBILITIES FOR IMPROVING THE QUALITY OF STUDENT LEARNING. The learning process will take place effectively and productively if students have psychological competence and strength in the form of initiative, independence, and responsibility in learning activities. Students who have the initiative, independence, and low responsibility are suspected to experience obstacles and difficulties in the learning process, and will be trapped in immaturity and stagnation in development. This research aims to develop guidelines for the development of initiatives, independence, and responsibility, so that students can undergo the learning process effectively and independently. If students have the initiative, independence, and responsibility, the learning process is expected to produce quality outputs that can develop students to have abilities according to their potential, can face future challenges, and have quality job and career orientation, so they are able to compete in a global society. With a quasi-experimental method and collaborative action research approach, this study involved 260 respondents and two guidance and counseling teachers in two state junior high schools in West Bandung Regency. The research produced guidelines that were tested that could effectively develop the initiative, independence, and responsibility of junior high school students
Resilience and Gender as Determinants of Entrepreneurial Intentions among Secondary School Students in Kwara State, Nigeria
Get PDFThe purpose of this study was to investigate resilience and gender as determinants of entrepreneurial intentions among secondary school students in Kwara State, Nigeria. Descriptive research design of ex-post-facto type was used in the study. Five hundred respondents were selected randomly from 5 Local Government Area in Kwara State, Nigeria. The respondents were measured with validated scale and the data obtained was analyzed using the Pearson Product Moment Correlation (PPMC) statistical analysis. Two research hypotheses were formulated and tested at 0.05level of significance. The result showed that there was significant relationship between the resilience and entrepreneurial intentions among secondary school students (r = 0.817; p < 0.05) and there no significant difference in the entrepreneurial intentions of male and female secondary school students (t = 0.71; p > 0.05). In view of these findings, the study recommended that the entrepreneurship training should be made compulsory at all levels of learning from primary schools to the tertiary institutions and curriculum should be tailored towards learning the skills for starting businesses after graduation from school, thus changing the orientation of the students at an early stage towards entrepreneurship

Get PDFPUPPETS TO INCREASE KNOWLEDGE ABOUT BULYYING FOR FOURTH GRADE OF ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS UJUNG MENTENG 07 PAGI. The purpose of this study was to develop puppets with “jangan ajak temanku” Story to increase knowledge about bullying for 4th grade of elementary school students to get an information about bullying and how to cope with it. The study was included in Research and Development (R&D) using the ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) development model. The study was conducted utilizing random sampling with 59 students on preliminary study. Data collection method used an interview techniques with teacher from 4th grade, and questionnaires for students. The validation result got 88% from media expert (very feasible) and 71% from content expert (feasible). The results of the small group trial got a percentage of 86% (very feasible) In media assessment, and the achievement of instructional objectives got percentage of 83%. In conclusion the puppets with “jangan ajak temanku” Story to increase knowledge about bullying for 4th grade of elementary school students can be declared as “Very Feasible”

THE EFFECTIVENESS OF PEER COUNSELING TO REDUCE ONLINE GAME ADDICTION IN MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS. The ease of using the internet is currently widely used by teenagers to operate online games. Online games are games that can be played together through a network. The high frequency of online game usage results in teens experiencing online game addiction. Friends are people outside the family who can provide comfort for teenagers. Through peer counseling, they hope to be able to exchange ideas and assess which actions are necessary or not to take. The purpose of this study is to test the effectiveness of peer counseling to reduce online game addiction in students. The method used in this research is experimental research. The design of this study was pre-experimental design. The sampling technique in this study used porposive sampling where the sample was selected by students who were addicted to online games. Based on the sig (2-tailed) value of 0,000 which is <0.05, it can be concluded that there is a difference between the pretest and posttest scores or effective peer counseling to reduce online game addiction in students

Get PDFEXISTENTIAL GROUP COUNSELING TO IMPROVE SENSE OF SCHOOL BELONGING IN VOCATIONAL SCHOOL STUDENTS IN YOGYAKARTA CITY. The aim of this study was to develop existential group conseling model to increase sense of belonging vocational school stundents in Yogyakarta. The development of group counseling models using an existential approach is one alternative that can be used to improve the sense of school belonging. The type of research used is Research and Development model that developed by Borg and Gall. The research subjects were students of State Vocational Schools in Yogyakarta who had low sense of school belonging. Data collection techniques using the sense of school belonging scale adapted from The Psychological Sense of School Membership (PSSM) Scale, developed by Carol Goodenow. Through testing the model, it is known that the average posttest score has increased from 42.75 to 52.75, meaning that the average value of students' sense of school belonging has changed by 10. As for the minimum value, the pretest scores obtained the minimum student is 34.00 in the low category, experiencing a change in grades when the post-test becomes 42.00 in the medium category, meaning that there are no students in the low category. For the maximum score, which in the pretest the maximum value of the students is 47.00 in the medium category, it changes in the score at the post test to be 65.00 in the high category

The negative impact of student bullying becomes depressed, performance decreases, and can ultimately lead to students dropping out of school. Therefore it needs to be prevented so that it does not expand, and the school becomes a friendly and pleasant environment. The purpose of this research is to provide students with an understanding of bullying behavior that can occur at school, and students can prevent it by behaving assertively. One way to prevent bullying is to develop assertive student behavior. Through PTBK students are trained to prevent bullying behavior with the guidance of sociodrama techniques. The reader can develop a model of preventing bullying behavior in the same way or in other ways, so that the school becomes a pleasant and friendly environment

But in fact, there are still many students who still have difficulties because they do not know their interests, talents, potentials, and lack information. According to researchers, the trait and factor group counseling is felt to be very helpful for students to measure the level of basic intelligence, talents, interests, and personality of students as well as the continuation of work or study, to recognize the weaknesses and strengths of each psychological aspect of each student. The results and measurements indicate that the accuracy of students in choosing work programs before being given the trait and factor group counseling is included in the medium category. And after being given group counseling, the accuracy of choosing a work program was included in the high category

Get PDFPARENTS’ UNDERSTANDING LEVEL OF SEXUALITY EDUCATION IN EARLY CHILDHOODS. Sexuality education is very important considering the many cases that occur regarding sexual violence against children and adolescents. Sex education is an effort to teach, raise awareness, and provide information about sexual problems. The information provided includes knowledge about the function of the reproductive organs by instilling morals, ethics, commitment, religion so that there is no “abuse” of the reproductive organs. Sex education is very important to be given from an early age. Knowledge of sex in children can prevent sexual deviations in children. Sex education in children can also prevent children from becoming victims of sexual harassment, by being equipped with knowledge about sex, they can understand which behavior is considered sexual harassment. There are four methods of providing early childhood sex education, namely: 1) giving an understanding of sex to children based on religion; 2) Communication between family members about sex; 3) Adjustment of the explanation of sex education with the level of understanding of the child; and 4) Restrictions on answering questions about sex to children. Of the four methods, only the first method worked relatively well, while the other three methods did not work well, where the parental consent rate was less than 50%, so it really needs to be improved
