A semiotic analysis of Arthur’s King journey in Guy Ritchie’s King Arthur: Legend of the Sword (2017) film
No full textThis research examined the symbolic meanings of Arthur's journey to becoming king in the film King Arthur: Legend of the Sword (2017) by Guy Ritchie. The background of this research highlighted the importance of symbols in culture and media, as well as the role of semiotic approaches in interpreting the implied meanings within the film. The purpose of this research is to analyze the signs that reflect Arthur's transformation into the rightful king. This research employed a qualitative descriptive method with a semiotic approach as proposed by Roland Barthes through the system of signification: denotation, connotation, and myth. Data were collected through the observation of visual, audio, and utterance elements in the film. The research findings indicated that there are 15 signs in Arthur’s journey towards self-discovery as king that are reflected through these signs, which consist of objects, animals, mental experiences, people, and myths that accompanied his emotional and spiritual transformation until he became king. The 11 main signs include The Sword in the Stone or Excalibur, Water, Street, Nightmare, Prostitutes, Eagle, The Darklands, Vision, Lady of the Lake, The Mage, and The Round Table. Additionally, there are 4 supporting signs: Snake, Giant Bat, Giant Rats, and Giant Wolf. These signs represent the concepts that shaped the entirety of Arthur's journey to becoming king. Arthur, who grew up on the streets, strives to free himself from the shadows of his dark past and the pressure of a destiny he has yet to understand
An ecocriticism analysis of human-nature relationship in the film Jungle Cruise (2021)
No full textThis research mainly focused on the representation of nature and the human-nature relationship in the film Jungle Cruise (2021), which was directed by Jaume Collet-Serra through the characters that involved with nature around them by using ecocriticism theory by Glotfelty and Garrard. The researcher used qualitative research in the form of explanations and descriptions. This film focused on the journey of Frank, Lily, and McGregor in the Amazon to find the legendary tree “The Tears of the Moon”. The data used in this research were the dialogues and actions of the characters that represented the ecocriticism. The data were collected by repeatedly watching the Jungle Cruise, focusing on the dialogue, scenes, and highlighting the events that indicated. This research used an ecocriticism approach to identify the representation of nature and the human-nature relationship. The analysis of this data showed Jungle Cruise film represents nature through wilderness, dwelling, and animals, and the human-nature relationship through the coexistence, provision, and nature exploitation
Karakteristik mutu sosis vegetarian jamur sawit (Volvariella volvaceae) dengan penambahan tepung biji durian termodifikasi
No full textSosis merupakan bentuk olahan pangan yang dibuat dari pencampuran daging halus dan tepung atau pati dengan bumbu serta bahan tambahan makanan yang diizinkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkarakteristik mutu sosis jamur sawit dengan penambahan tepung biji durian termodifikasi. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian faktor tunggal (penambahan tepung biji durian termodifikasi) yang disusun dalam Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan 6 taraf perlakuan, yaitu 15, 30, 45, 60, 75, dan 90 g. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan porsi tepung biji durian termodifikasi berpengaruh tidak nyata (p > 0,05) terhadap respons organoleptik hedonik untuk warna, aroma dan penilaian keselurahan sosis jamur sawit, namun berpengaruh nyata (p < 0,05) terhadap respons organoleptik hedonik untuk rasa dan tekstur. Menggunakan metode pembobotan aditif, perlakuan yang memberikan respons organoleptik hedonik terbaik adalah penambahan tepung biji durian termodifikasi sebanyak 45 g. Perlakuan tersebut menghasilkan sosis dengan karakteristik sensoris hedonik suka untuk atribut warna, aroma, dan rasa, sedangkan untuk atribut tekstur dan penilaian keseluruhan mendapatkan respons agak suka. Karakteristik kimia sosis jamur sawit tersebut adalah mempunyai kadar air, serat dan protein, berturut-turut 69,73%, 3,25%, dan 10,00%
Kepribadian tokoh utama dalam novel SYNC karya Jysa Nursakinah : kajian psikologi sastra
No full textABSTRAKNovel sebagai karya sastra tidak hanya menghadirkan alur dan tokoh, tetapi juga menyimpan representasi kehidupan batin manusia. Konflik, trauma, serta pertarungan emosi yang dialami tokoh sering kali mencerminkan dinamika psikologis yang menarik untuk dikaji. Hal tersebut tampak jelas dalam novel SYNC karya Jysa Nursakinah yang menampilkan dua tokoh utama, Haru dan Jeon dengan kompleksitas batin yang menggambarkan pergulatan antara kesadaran dan ketidaksadaran diri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) menganalisis arketipe Jung yang mencakup persona, shadow, anima, dan animus, (2) mengidentifikasi manifestasi personal unconscious dan collective unconscious, serta (3) mendeskripsikan bentuk kepribadian tokoh utama dalam novel SYNC karya Jysa Nursakinah.Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif analisis isi. Data yang digunakan berupa kutipan naratif, dialog, dan deskripsi peristiwa dalam novel SYNC karya Jysa Nursakinah. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan metode baca dan catat, sedangkan analisis dilakukan melalui tahap reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Haru dan Jeon memiliki kepribadian yang kompleks dan saling melengkapi. Haru mengalami trauma dan tekanan emosional yang merepresentasikan dominasi shadow, sedangkan Jeon memperlihatkan sisi rasional dan perfeksionis yang menutupi kerentanan emosionalnya. Keduanya menjalani proses individuasi menuju keseimbangan antara kesadaran dan ketidaksadaran. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa novel SYNC tidak hanya menyajikan kisah fiksi, tetapi juga merepresentasikan dinamika psikologis manusia berdasarkan teori psikoanalisis Carl Gustav Jung.Kata kunci: Kepribadian Tokoh Utama, Psikologi Sastra, Novel SYNC ABSTRACTAs a literary work, a novel not only presents plot and characters but also represents the inner life of humans. The conflicts, trauma, and emotional struggles experienced by the characters often reflect psychological dynamics that are interesting to study. This is clearly evident in Jysa Nursakinah's novel SYNC, which features two main characters, Haru and Jeon, whose inner complexities illustrate the struggle between consciousness and the unconscious. This study aims to (1) analyze Jung's archetypes, including the persona, shadow, anima, and animus; (2) identify manifestations of the personal unconscious and collective unconscious; and (3) describe the personality traits of the main characters in Jysa Nursakinah's novel SYNC.This research is a qualitative study with a descriptive content analysis approach. The data used are narrative excerpts, dialogues, and descriptions of events in Jysa Nursakinah's novel SYNC. Data collection techniques used the reading and note-taking method, while analysis was conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that Haru and Jeon have complex and complementary personalities. Haru experiences trauma and emotional distress that represent the dominance of the shadow, while Jeon displays a rational and perfectionist side that masks her emotional vulnerability. Both undergo a process of individuation toward a balance between consciousness and the unconscious. These findings indicate that the novel SYNC presents not only a fictional story but also represents human psychological dynamics based on Carl Gustav Jung's psychoanalytic theory.Keywords: Main Characters Personality, Literary Psychological, SYNC Nove
Perceived Value and Repurchase Intention in E-Commerce Applications: The Mediating Role of Consumer Satisfaction
No full textThe presence of e-commerce applications has significantly changed shopping patterns. Consumer satisfaction strengthens the relationship between perceived value and repurchase intention in e-commerce application users. This study aims to explore the influence of perceived value on repurchase intention in e-commerce applications, as well as to identify the role of consumer satisfaction as a mediating variable in this relationship. This study applied a quantitative method using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) approach with the help of the AMOS application version 24. The sample size was 250 e-commerce application consumers selected through the Accidental Sampling technique. The instruments used consisted of a scale of repurchase intention, a scale of perceived value, and an adapted consumer satisfaction scale. The results showed that perceived value significantly influenced repurchase intention (C.R = 6.408 0.05), perceived value significantly influenced consumer satisfaction (C.R = 4.017 > 1.96 with p = 0.000 1.96 and p = 0.000 1.96 and p = 0.04)
Readiness for Marriage Among Young Adults: A Review from the Perspective of Parental Attachment
No full textChanges in the mindset of the current generation have the potential to influence individuals' decisions to marry, making readiness for marriage an important aspect to consider. One factor that plays a role in readiness for marriage is the relationship between individuals and their parents (parental attachment). This study aims to determine the relationship between parental attachment and readiness for marriage in early adulthood. The research subjects consisted of 319 young adults selected using purposive sampling. The research method used was quantitative correlational with analysis using correlation tests. The results showed that there was no significant relationship between parental attachment and readiness for marriage, with a significance value of 0.753 and a very weak relationship strength (r = 0.018). These findings indicate that the level of parental attachment does not directly affect the readiness for marriage in young adults
GAMBARAN KEPATUHAN BEROBAT PASIEN HUMAN IMMUNE DEFICIENCY VIRUS (HIV) DI WILAYAH SEMPAJA SAMARINDA
No full textHuman immunedeficiency virus (HIV) is a virus that infects white blood cells and causes a decrease in human immunity. The high number of HIV infections in Indonesia and the low number of patients taking ARVs so this research aims to determine the factors that influence the picture of treatment compliance in HIV patients.Method: This research used descriptive method, and obtained 43 research samples. Then the data is presented in table form. The variables of this study are social support, level of knowledge about antiretroviral therapy (ART), satisfaction with health facilities, and the level of treatment compliance.Results: Univariate analysis found that poor social support (37.2%), the knowledge about ART was good at (83.7), satisfaction with health facilities was very satisfied (95.3%) and the level of compliance was included in the category of compliance with treatment (76.7%). Digital Connections: The Dynamics of Loneliness, Interpersonal Trust, and Self-Disclosure on Tinder
No full textThe evolution of digital technology has profoundly reconfigured patterns of interaction and the architecture of social relations within contemporary society. Nevertheless, the phenomenon of loneliness persists amidst extensive virtual connectivity. This study interrogates the roles of loneliness and interpersonal trust in shaping self-disclosure tendencies among Tinder users in early adulthood (ages 18–40). The sample comprised 100 participants selected via purposive sampling, utilizing the UCLA Loneliness Scale, Interpersonal Trust Scale, and Self-Disclosure Scale as instruments. Multivariate linear regression analysis revealed that the two predictor variables exerted a significant simultaneous influence on self-disclosure (F = 17.556; p = 0.000 < 0.05), with R² = 0.328, indicating that 32.8% of the variance in self-disclosure was accounted for by the predictors. Partial analyses demonstrated significant positive effects of loneliness (β = 0.282; p = 0.004) and interpersonal trust (β = 0.205; p = 0.036), suggesting that elevated levels of loneliness and trust are concomitant with a greater propensity for online self-disclosure. Penerapan Aplikasi Penunjang Penataan Arsip Ramah Lingkungan di UMKM Balon Manado
No full textPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan dan menerapkan aplikasi berbasis Google Spreadsheet guna mendukung penataan arsip ramah lingkungan pada sebuah UMKM jasa dekorasi. Menggunakan pendekatan Research and Development (R&D) dengan kerangka kerja model ADIK (Analisis, Desain, Implementasi, Kontrol) yang diadaptasi dari model ADDIE. Hasil implementasi menunjukkan peningkatan efisiensi dan tata kelola arsip yang signifikan. Penerapan ini memungkinkan pencatatan pesanan dilakukan secara real-time dan akurat (menggantikan sistem manual yang rawan salah hitung). Pengarsipan nota dan dokumen kini dilakukan secara digital di Google Drive, yang secara langsung mengurangi penggunaan kertas secara signifikan (mendukung green business practice), serta menjadikan arsip lebih aman, rapi, dan mudah dicari kembali. Implementasi sistem ini juga meningkatkan transparansi dan efisiensi kolaborasi tim, dimana waktu pencarian dokumen berkurang drastis dibandingkan saat menggunakan arsip fisik. Kesimpulan penelitian menegaskan bahwa digitalisasi arsip dengan Google Drive dan pencatatan dengan Google Spreadsheet merupakan solusi praktis yang efektif dan low-cost untuk mengelola administrasi UMKM sekaligus mendukung prinsip bisnis ramah lingkungan
Determinasi Profitabilitas, Sustainability Report, dan Mekanisme Corporate Governance dalam Praktik Penghindaran Pajak (Studi Empiris pada Perusahaan Manufaktur yang Terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia Tahun 2019-2022)
No full textPenghindaran pajak merupakan praktik yang secara hukum diperbolehkan namun berpotensi mengurangi penerimaan negara, sehingga penting untuk memahami faktor-faktor yang memengaruhinya. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis determinan penghindaran pajak dengan memasukkan variabel profitabilitas, sustainability report, serta mekanisme corporate governance yang terdiri atas kepemilikan institusional, proporsi komisaris independen, dan keberadaan komite audit. Sampel penelitian meliputi 37 perusahaan manufaktur yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia (BEI) selama periode 2019–2022, sehingga diperoleh 148 observasi. Pemilihan sampel dilakukan menggunakan metode purposive sampling, sedangkan data sekunder dikumpulkan dari laporan tahunan perusahaan dan situs resmi BEI. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan regresi linier berganda untuk menguji pengaruh masing-masing variabel independen terhadap penghindaran pajak. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa profitabilitas dan kepemilikan institusional berpengaruh negatif terhadap penghindaran pajak, yang mengindikasikan bahwa perusahaan yang lebih menguntungkan serta memiliki tingkat kepemilikan institusional yang tinggi cenderung menerapkan praktik kepatuhan pajak yang lebih baik. Sebaliknya, sustainability report, proporsi komisaris independen, dan komite audit tidak memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap penghindaran pajak. Temuan ini mengisyaratkan bahwa faktor internal perusahaan, khususnya profitabilitas dan struktur kepemilikan, lebih menentukan perilaku penghindaran pajak dibandingkan mekanisme tata kelola perusahaan yang bersifat formal. Penelitian ini memberikan implikasi bagi regulator dan pemangku kepentingan untuk memperkuat pengawasan berbasis karakteristik internal perusahaan dalam upaya meningkatkan kepatuhan pajak korporasi
