Get PDFThe objective of this work is a conceptual bibliographic review of the variable "fear of death" and, on the other hand, the variable "anxiety". Once conceptualized, a relationship between the two was sought, in the context of Covid-19, to determine whether they are linked or not. It was concluded that the two variables are highly linked. The degree of anxiety in the face of death showed an upward trend in the respective context, since the pandemic, of an uncontrollable and unpredictable nature, caused a greater negative impact at the psychological level on individuals. Una vez conceptualizadas, se buscó una relación entre ambas, en el contexto del Covid-19, para determinar si están vinculadas o no. Se concluyó que las dos variables están sumamente vinculadas. El grado de ansiedad ante la muerte fue de tendencia alcista en el respectivo contexto, ya que la pandemia, de naturaleza incontrolable e impredecible, causó un mayor impacto negativo a nivel psicológico en los individuos. Get PDFRefusal to be pigeonholed in categories forms one of the distinct features of Aparna Lanjewar Bose’s poetry. The annoyance and fury which is prevalent in many of her poems bear the imprint of her frustration at the extremely divided way of thinking in India. Still, she is definitely a poet of the world; she defamiliarizes her subjects rather consciously, withholding personal even in her most intimate poems, she projects a worldview that breaks free from the parochial, localized- casteist identities of India. This paper focuses on selected poems of Aparna Lanjewar Bose where she finds her voice not just in Anglophone poetic space but in the broader field of Dalit poetry also. I will also look into her delicate handling of ‘Dalit’ as a category that is neither reductive nor merely rhetoric. Caste oppression is no longer limited to the Indian context, it is a humanitarian crisis that has been and needs to be continuously addressed at the international level. Hence, Aparna’s subject suffers not particular Indian suffering, instability, and slippages; but an entirely humane quandary that needs to be addressed at all levels.La negativa a ser encasillado en categorías constituye una de las características distintivas de la poesía de Aparna Lanjewar Bose. La molestia y la furia que prevalecen en muchos de sus poemas llevan la impronta de su frustración por la forma de pensar extremadamente dividida en la India. Aún así, definitivamente es una poeta del mundo; ella desfamiliariza a sus temas bastante conscientemente, ocultando lo personal incluso en sus poemas más íntimos, proyecta una visión del mundo que se libera de las identidades parroquiales y localizadas de castas de la India. Este artículo se centra en poemas seleccionados de Aparna Lanjewar Bose, donde encuentra su voz no solo en el espacio poético anglófono sino en el campo más amplio de la poesía dalit también. También examinaré su delicado manejo de \u27Dalit\u27 como una categoría que no es ni reduccionista ni meramente retórica. La opresión de castas ya no se limita al contexto indio, es una crisis humanitaria que ha sido y debe ser abordada continuamente a nivel internacional. Por lo tanto, el tema de Aparna no tiene el sufrimiento, la inestabilidad y los deslices particulares de los indios; es totalmente un dilema humano que debe abordarse en todos los niveles
La influencia de la necesidad de cierre cognitivo en la adhesión a la ideología del rol de género
Get PDFIn the 21st century, gender inequalities continue to exist, mainly due to the social construction of gender stereotypes. A psychological theory that allows understanding such stereotypes is the Need for Cognitive Closure. Therefore, the aim of this research is to analyze the relationship between the Need for Cognitive Closure, understood as the subject\u27s motivation to seek and maintain a response to an ambiguous situation, and Gender Role Ideology, which refers to a prejudiced attitude based on the supposed inferiority of women. For this purpose, a non-probabilistic sample of 401 individuals over 18 years old living in Argentina, 290 women and 111 men, was used. The Revised Cognitive Closure Need Test, the Gender Role Ideology Scale and a sociodemographic questionnaire were administered. The results showed a positive correlation between Cognitive Closure Need and Gender Role Ideology. In addition, a direct association was found between age and Gender Role Ideology. An inverse relationship was also found between educational level, Cognitive Closure Need and Gender Role Ideology. Finally, Gender Role Ideology presented disparity with respect to gender, where men showed higher ranks than women. It is concluded that individuals with greater discomfort with ambiguity, narrow-mindedness and urgency for closure have greater adherence to ideologies that support gender difference.En pleno siglo XXI las desigualdades de género siguen vigentes, debido mayormente a la construcción social de estereotipos de género. Una teoría psicológica que permite comprender dichos estereotipos es la Necesidad de Cierre Cognitivo. Es por ello, que el objetivo de esta investigación es analizar la relación entre la Necesidad de Cierre Cognitivo, entendido como la motivación de los sujetos por buscar y mantener una respuesta ante una situación ambigua, y la Ideología del Rol de Género, la cual hace referencia a una actitud prejuiciosa basada en la supuesta inferioridad de las mujeres. Para ello, se contó con una muestra no probabilística de 401 sujetos, mayores de 18 años, que habitan en la Argentina, 290 mujeres y 111 hombres. Se administró el Test Revisado de Necesidad de Cierre Cognitivo, la Escala de Ideología del Rol de Género y un cuestionario sociodemográfico. Los resultados evidenciaron una correlación positiva entre Necesidad de Cierre Cognitivo e Ideología del Rol de Género. Además, se halló una asociación directa entre edad e Ideología del Rol de Género. También se evidenció una relación inversa entre el nivel educativo, Necesidad de Cierre Cognitivo e Ideología del Rol de Género. Finalmente, la Ideología del Rol de Género presentó disparidad respecto al género, donde los hombres presentaron rangos más elevados que las mujeres. Se concluye que los sujetos con mayor incomodidad ante la ambigüedad, estrechez mental y urgencia por el cierre poseen mayor adherencia a ideologías que sostienen la diferencia entre los géneros

No full textThis exploratory study aimed to verify the impact of the attachment network on dealing with potential disruptive experiences. For this purpose, sought for possible relations between attachment representations and the experience of break-up of romantic relationships. Forty-four adults engaged in semi-structure interviews and questionnaires on attachment, coping and responses of grief. Results indicated that the representations of attachment mediated patterns of coping strategies and responses of grief. This study concluded that poor socio-emotional network increases the experience of vulnerability and the ability for effectively coping.Este estudio exploratorio tuvo como objetivo verificar el impacto de la red de apego en el manejo de posibles experiencias disruptivas. Para ello, buscó posibles relaciones entre las representaciones de apego y la experiencia de ruptura de relaciones amorosas. Cuarenta y cuatro adultos participaron de entrevistas semiestructuradas y cuestionarios sobre apego, afrontamiento y respuestas al duelo. Los resultados indicaron que las representaciones del apego mediaron patrones de estrategias de afrontamiento y respuestas al duelo. Este estudio concluyó que el pobre tejido socioemocional aumenta la experiencia de vulnerabilidad y la capacidad de afrontamiento efectivo
La influencia de los ideales culturales dominantes en la salud mental y sexual de los homosexuales: Un estudio exploratorio del fenómeno "Oso"
Get PDFThis project aimed to understand possible associations between the influence of dominant cultural ideals on the mental and sexual health of homosexual men self-identified as "Bears". Participants responded to standard questionnaires which assessed internalized homonegativity, occurrence of heterosexist events, anti-feminine preconceptions toward gay men, mood, and syndemic count of factors associated with minority stress and potential protective factors. Results showed that the loss or absence of support from attachment networks and higher nicotine consumption were the factors that affected participants the most. These impacts were associated with adherence to heteronormative ideals and negative attitudes against female gender expressions in men that seem to generate diffuse anxiety, the expectation of suffering heterosexist harassment, and internalized homophobia. These findings are important because they flagged associations between manifest adaptive behaviours to hegemonic expectations among these men that mask deeper psychological conflicts.Este proyecto buscó comprender las posibles asociaciones entre la influencia de estos ideales culturales dominantes en la salud mental y sexual de los hombres homosexuales autoidentificados como "Osos". Los participantes respondieron a cuestionarios estándar que evaluaban la homonegatividad internalizada, la ocurrencia de eventos heterosexistas, las preconcepciones antifemeninas hacia hombres homosexuales, el estado de ánimo y el recuento sindrómico de los factores asociados al estrés de las minorías y los factores de protección. Los resultados mostraron que la pérdida o ausencia de apoyo de las redes vinculares y el mayor consumo de nicotina fueron los factores que más afectaron a los participantes. Este impacto está asociado a la adhesión a los ideales heteronormativos y a las actitudes negativas contra las expresiones de género femeninas en los hombres, que parecen generar ansiedad difusa, la expectativa de sufrir acoso heterosexista y la homofobia internalizada. Estos hallazgos son importantes porque señalan asociaciones entre los comportamientos adaptados manifiestos de estos hombres a las expectativas hegemónicas que enmascaran conflictos psicológicos más profundos
Preocupaciones de la vida cotidiana. Objetos y prácticas culturales durante la pandemia por covid-19
Get PDFThe aim of this article is to present the main findings of an investigation of daily life experiences during covid-19 confinement, in which we paid particular attention to day-to-day concerns and the strategies that subjects brought into play to cope with them. The methodology was based on the qualitative analysis of eleven auto-ethnographic diaries made by university students and six subsequent interviews with the same subjects, always focused on their cultural and informational practices during isolation. We identified three main problems in this period. First, the radical change in daily routines as a result of the increased use of domestic space. Second, the need for reliable media information about prevention practices and social norms in a context traversed by over-information and fake news. Thirdly, the limitation of the set of social relations due to the regulations of the pandemic, which made loneliness a feeling in constant latency. From the analysis of the records, we argue that the use of different objects (computers, cell phones, books, musical instruments, etc.) was central to deal with everyday problems, either because of their ability to mobilize cultural practices, manage emotions, establish symbolic boundaries between activities, create new temporalities, or become a resource for sociability. We believe that recovering these experiences allows us to open up questions to think about daily life in the post-pandemic period.El objetivo de este artículo es presentar los principales hallazgos de una investigación sobre las experiencias de la vida cotidiana durante el confinamiento por covid-19, en la que prestamos especial atención a las preocupaciones del día a día y a las estrategias que los sujetos pusieron en juego para sobreponerse a ellas. La metodología se basó en el análisis cualitativo de once diarios auto-etnográficos realizados por estudiantes universitarios y seis entrevistas posteriores a los mismos sujetos, siempre centradas en sus prácticas culturales e informativas durante el aislamiento. Identificamos tres problemas principales en este período. En primer lugar, el cambio radical de las rutinas diarias como resultado del incremento del uso del espacio doméstico. En segundo lugar, la necesidad de información mediática confiable acerca de las prácticas de prevención y las normas sociales en un contexto atravesado por la sobreinformación y las fake news. En tercer lugar, la limitación del conjunto de relaciones sociales a causa de las reglamentaciones de la pandemia, que hicieron de la soledad una sensación en constante latencia. A partir del análisis de los registros, sostenemos que el uso de diferentes objetos (computadoras, celulares, libros, instrumentos musicales, etcétera) fue central para lidiar con los problemas cotidianos, ya sea por su capacidad para movilizar prácticas culturales, gestionar emociones, establecer límites simbólicos entre actividades, crear nuevas temporalidades, o convertirse en un recurso de sociabilidad. Creemos que recuperar estas experiencias nos permite abrir interrogantes para pensar la vida cotidiana en la pospandemia

That said, the present study through a bibliographic review has been able to account for a highly positive relationship in the variables, since, by having greater coping tools, the individual manages to perceive greater satisfaction with his life. In turn, this relationship between variables is coupled with numerous studies and interdisciplinary integration programs that aim to generate an integrative view of the experience of patients and their families.Este trabajo es una recopilación bibliográfica que relaciona dos variables: Calidad de Vida y Estrategias de Afrontamiento. La primera de estas variables es entendida como las percepciones del individuo de su posición en la vida, en un tiempo y espacio determinado, en el contexto de la cultura y el sistema de valores en los que vive. En relación con sus objetivos, expectativas, estándares y preocupaciones. Mientras que, la segunda variable como los esfuerzos cognitivos y conductuales en constante cambio que se llevan a cabo para manejar, y sobreponerse a las situaciones específicas externas y/o internas que son evaluadas como excedentes o desbordantes de los recursos del individuo. Dicho esto, el presente estudio a través de una revisión bibliográfica ha podido dar cuenta de una relación altamente positiva en las variables, ya que, al poseer mayores herramientas de afrontamiento, el individuo logra percibir una mayor satisfacción con su vida. A su vez esta relación entre variables va emparejada a numerosos estudios y programas de integración interdisciplinar que tienen como objetivo generar una mirada integradora del vivenciar de los pacientes y sus familias
Factores Psicosociales Intervinientes en el Intento de Suicidio de Adolescentes Paraguayos
Get PDFThe aim of this study was to identify the relationship between some psychosocial factors and suicidal ideation in Paraguayan adolescents aged 13 to 18 years. It was a correlational and cross-sectional field study. The participants were fifty-nine students from two public and private secondary education institutes, between the eighth grade and the third year, to whom the Life Events Scale and an Inventory of Suicidal Orientations (IOS) were applied. The results show that there is a positive correlation between the presence of events of breakdown in the family structure and suicidal ideation, in the same way as with serious family financial problems, the death of one of the parents, and the feeling of loneliness experienced.El objetivo del presente trabajo fue identificar la relación existente entre algunos factores psicosociales y la ideación suicida en adolescentes paraguayos de 13 a 18 años. El estudio fue de campo, correlacional y transversal. Participaron 59 alumnos de dos institutos de educación media pública y privada, entre el octavo grado y el tercer año de estudios, a quienes se les aplicó Escala de Sucesos de Vida y un Inventario de Orientaciones Suicidas (IOS). Los resultados muestran que existe una correlación positiva entre la presencia de eventos de ruptura de la estructura familiar e ideación suicida, de la misma manera que con problemas económicos familiares serios, la muerte de alguno de los progenitores, y el sentimiento de soledad experimentada

No full textAlthough important advances have been made in society with regard to female academic training, this continues to be an enormous challenge for those women who, in addition to being students, are also mothers and workers. The objective of this work is to investigate the influence produced by the concomitant exercise of these roles on the quality of life of these women, as well as the recognition of those factors inherent to resilience that are necessary to exercise them. This is verified that the fulfillment of academic, work and family responsibilities by student mothers receive more attention than self-care itself. In addition, for this combination of roles to be possible and for these women to achieve their academic goals, personal life projects and the execution of work and/or domestic tasks, a great deal of resilience is necessary, manifested in effort, responsibility , commitment and organization of time. It is concluded that, in addition to implying one of the sources that requires the greatest dedication and attention, motherhood is presented as the basis of resilience that allows them to overcome the obstacles that come from the triple combination of roles.Si bien en la sociedad han ocurrido importantes avances en lo que respecta a la formación académica femenina, ésta sigue siendo un enorme desafío para aquellas mujeres que, además de estudiantes, son también madres y trabajadoras. El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo la indagación de la influencia que produce el ejercicio concomitante de dichos roles sobre la calidad de vida de estas mujeres, así como el reconocimiento de aquellos factores inherentes a la resiliencia que son necesarios para ejercerlos. En el mismo se constata que el cumplimiento de las responsabilidades académicas, laborales y familiares por parte de las estudiantes madres, reciben mayor atención que el propio autocuidado. Además, para que sea posible dicha combinación de roles y estas mujeres alcancen la realización de sus objetivos académicos, proyectos de vida personales y ejecución de tareas laborales y/o domésticas, se hace necesaria una gran cuota de resiliencia, manifestada en el esfuerzo, responsabilidad, empeño y organización del tiempo. Se concluye que, además de implicar una de las fuentes que mayor dedicación y atención requiere, la maternidad se presenta como la base de la resiliencia que les permite sortear los obstáculos que devienen de la triple combinación de roles
