Located on opposite sides of the same building and with the same lettering, the first ghost sign is written horizantally while the second is written vertically. According to the Barrow upon Soar Heritage Group, the inn functioned until the 1950s when the building was converted into flats and 'may well have been used by those coming to the Quorn Hunt'

The brewery supplied about 150 pubs and clubs. In 1952, the LBM was acquired by Ansells who closed the brewery but continued to bottle LBM until the 1960s

No full textNW Leicestershire Coalfield: "Haystack" boiler excavated from site of Alabama shaft, Califat Colliery, Swannington (Coleorton Colliery Company No. 2 pit), in the 1960s. The boiler may not have been used there for steam generation, but rather re-used as a water storage vessel. The boiler is currently stored, as seen in the photo, at Snibston Discovery Park, and is just visible to the public from the outdoor area behind the main Hall. There are plans for the Swannington Heritage Trust to reinstate the boiler at its original site near Peggs Green, Swannington
